  • Question about Lion Server documentation

    Historically Apple has posted the server documentation as a set of PDF documents which can be freely downloaded. I have found what appears to be the correct webpage for the Lion Server documentation which is  http://www.apple.com/macosx/server/resources/documentation.html but this page only has a Getting Started guide as a PDF and the rest as only HTML which can only be viewed online.
    Does anyone know if there are PDF versions available somewhere?

    Unfortunately that is the html version I mentioned. It comes down as a single massive document which takes forever to load.
    I know Apple have been having a spat with Adobe over Flash, but that is no reason to boycot offering PDF manuals.

  • Are form responses removed from Adobe server when deleted by user?

    This is a server security question; when form responses are exported to excel, and then deleted from the workspace, do they remain on the Adobe server or are they gone?  I need to know this to know the level of security that is applied to the server to determine if we can use Adobe with sensitive information. I understand forms are encrypted when responses are returned, but what happens to the information that is on the server?

  • How do I overcome the Failed Downloads for Instant Movies from the Adobe Server?

    I have a Windows 8.1 PC , Premiere Elements ver. 12, and I have a  dedicated DSL for computer only. In my best efforts, even when disabling  McAfee completely, I have had almost 4 days of frustration trying to  download an Instant Movie from the online content server. At times the  DL works, slowly, then it pauses, sometimes the DL reverses the count  and I lose 10mb and it resumes (I have never seen that before). Most  frustrating is when the DL is nearly complete and the message pops up  that I need to check my connection as the download has failed. I have  1.6TB disc space, and no restrictions in place at my end. I tried from 2  of the PCs, both Win 8.1. I have tried at all hours of the day for  traffic on the server, but that doesn't seem to matter. I have attempted the Secret Agent file DL at best 10x.  Is there a  setting I need to change to receive this content, or go to a different  site where I can directly access this content?
    I have purchased Three PE 12 programs for 3 replacement PCs and I need some real direction.

    There will be those that report Content download of a few minutes. Although we are happy for them, many have found that this is not usually the case. Download of the Premiere Elements 11 and 12 Content download is often a slow process which demands a lot of patience whether the download be "Download Now" or "Download All".  Just two of the factors in this situation are the Internet Speed/Status and the status of the Adobe Server. Many times it is time of the day.

    I have DSL Service on the east coast of the USA. It is now about 6 pm Saturday February 22, 2014.
    I right clicked the blue ban at the top right corner of the Instant Movie thumbnail for the Secret Agent theme. I selected Download Now to download just that one Instant Movie theme.
    a. The file size was given as 75.8 MB, not 118.7 MB. It took 11 minutes and 19 seconds to download that Instant Movie.
    I checked the download on two different computers, one Windows 7 64 bit and the other Windows 8.1 64 bit. The Instant Movie Secret Agent had a file size of 75.8 MB according to the download pop up in the opened project.
    b. If you are talking days for this download, then I would first check with your Internet provider. There is no other place for these downloads except from within the program. And, when you do get them, I would encourage you to save them as per my blog posts on this topic to avoid having to go through an labored downloading processes again.
    Do you find the downloading of Content to be the same for all the other categories requiring this type of download, not just Instant Movies?
    Please review and update us on your progress.

    Add On...Although you did say that you disabled McAfee, be advised that McAfee's recent update(s) have created some serious problems for Premiere Elements. So, I would re-evaluate McAfee's possible role in all this along with the firewalls settings.

  • Frame 12 Server documentation videos don't work

    I've tried to get the embedded videos in the Frame 12 Server documentation (e.g., "Getting Started Guid") to work under multiple browsers to no effect.  Clicking on them results in nothing happening.  Here's my case in point:  Quite a pity since the docs seem to be entirely dependent on these videos contextually.  Any suggestions?

    You have to be using a PDF viewer that allows javascript (i.e. Reader, Acrobat, etc.) and not viewing the PDF within a browser. IIRC, security settings in the browser will prevent the videos from launching.
    They work just fine for me when I use Acrobat.

  • Error in iPlanet Directory Server documentation ?

    According the the Directory Server Schema Reference (http://docs.sun.com/db/coll/S1_ipDirectoryServer_51), a "Directory String indicates that values for this attribute are not case sensitive". Moreover, "IA5String indicates that values for this attribute are case sensitive".
    I thought a Directory String was a Unicode UTF-8 string, and could be made case sensitive or not case sensitive. As for IA5String, I thought it was just a 7-bits ASCII.
    Is this an error in the Directory Server documentation ?

    An error perhaps in that they do not conform with the standards, but that's how the DS treats them - DirString is case insensitive, and iA5String is case sensitive.

    I hope these windows illustrate what I am facing.
    The above window shows the prompt that the software requires activation.
    The version is 8.1.0.
    This next window is the point where I select activation by phone.
    This final window shows that the "response code" is not returned.  I get an
    "Activation Number" instead.

    Been waiting all day for Mountain Lion Server Documentation the be posted to no avail. What gives? Especially need the Mountain Lion Server Upgrading & Migrating manual. I help run a small educational cmoputer center in Santa Cruz CA and we need to transition from 10.5 Leopard Server on an old G5 Power Mac to 10.8 Mountain Lion Server on a new 2012 Mac mini as soon as it goes on sale. We particularly need the Workgroup Manager migration app documentation ASAP. Can any Apple employees explain why the Mountain Lion server documentation is not posted even though you can download the Mountain Lion Server since this morning?

    Good Luck in Migrating from 10.5 Server to 10.8 Server... There's soo  many  changes..  Each time I've upgraded since 10.2.X server, I've always had to manual migrate things. Forget the automated upgraded process since it always hangs for me.
    As for 10.6.8 Server, Apple changed the imap/pop server software from cyrus to dovecot. There's a script if I recall somewhere in 10.6.8 Server convert the imap mail of all the users.  However before you run that script I recommend that you rebuild the imap structure in cyrus before you do...

    Where can I download Flash from that "isn't" on an Adobe server?
    I can't donwload the installer from Adobe because I keep getting "Connection timed out". I have;
    - disabled everything that could interfer with a connection to anything, ie popups etc
    - disabled form of internet protection, ie antivirus
    - cleared cache, ie temp internet files, cookies, etc
    I currently have a vunerable system that can be penetrated because I have disabled every form of internet protection.
    I can download the installer from CNET/Download.com, but after i install the installer I cant connect to Adobe servers to download flash!
    So where can i get a full version of flash player for Firefox 3.6 that ISNT on an Adobe server. Dont tell me to install version 4 either, because i tried that.

    Hi, I recently bought a cuple of canon600d's upgrading from 450's, my photoshop CS5 does not recognise the raw format. Adobe server is offline or unavailable to enabe me to download update/ I have downloaded a trial version of CS6 and of course raw works perfectly. The Adobe server has not benn able to open for about 3 weeks now. I turn off my firewall settings beforehand. ny suggestions ?

    It's not offline.  It's been working for others.     Adobe captivate data not sending at the end of webinar. Reads "unknown error." Is the adobe server still down? This has been ongoing all of july 2014.

    So the engineer came and, of course, everything was working ok. He did fit some kind of RF filter on my main socket, and 'changed the pair' on one of the outside cables. Since then, I've only had a noisy line once, and seem to have been connected for 3 days solid, which is a record!
    I've switched back to my BT Home hub 3, which guavas me more stats. The line has previously given me up to 6mb/s, now only getting 1.6.
    Do you think, now the line seems more stable, with the stats below I should be able to maintain a higher speed now?

  • Privacy of files on the Adobe server

    I need to convert four years of PDF VISA statements into Excel. Currently I have Adobe ExportPDF which creates the Excel on the Adobe server, and then writes it there. It lingers on the Adobe server forever as near as I can tell. I really do not want my four years of VISA statements on the Adobe server. How can I do the conversion and leave not a rack behind. I do not even want to leave a whisper of my data on the Adobe server.

    If you are still feel unsecured you can delete your files from the Adobe server by clicking on the below mentioend URL
    https://cloud.acrobat.com/content
    login with your adobe credentials and delete the files by clicking on the files tab (if not already selected)
    Note: once the file gets deleted it cannot be retrieved
