Adobe Shape to Illustrator

I'm trying to get files from Adobe Shape to Illustrator CC 2014 through Creative Cloud. I'm suposed to find them under "libraries" in Illustrator but I can't find it anywhere.

Hi Vanessa Albertini,
Please open Adobe Creative cloud desktop application and check if you have installed CC 2014 version of Illustrator, If not, please install that and check. Also if it says uptodate in front of Illustrator CC2014 on Adobe Creative cloud desktop application then you can click on start and All Programs and check if you have CC 2014 version of Illustrator installed on your machine.
Thanks,
Nikhil Gupta.

  • Can't import "Adobe Shape" generated SVG into Illustrator

I've used Adobe Shape to create a few vector graphics that automatically sync to Creative Cloud (very cool), but when I'm in Illustrator I can't import the graphics from the library. When I drag the library item onto the canvas, nothing happens. If I double click the item, I get the message below:

  • How do I use shapes I create in Adobe Shape?

All the shapes you create with Adobe Shape are stored in a CC Library.  This means you can access them in other desktop, mobile, and web apps.  Detailed instructions below.
How to access your shapes in Creative Cloud
Desktop: In order for this to work, you must have the most recent version of Illustrator and Photoshop.
Open Adobe Illustrator on your desktop.
Open the Libraries panel (Windows > Libraries)
Your shapes should be present in your Libraries.  If you don’t see them there, select the libraries drop down to see if you saved your shapes in a different library.
Now, you can drag the shape onto your canvas.
At this point,  you can continue working with your shape, by adding editing.  Or, you can simply save the file.  Of course, after you save it to your desktop, you can email, post online, etc.
    Mobile apps:
Open Adobe Illustrator Draw and open a drawing.
Tap the Shapes icon to open the Shapes menu.
Tap a library name to view the shapes in the Creative Cloud Library. Tap Change Library to select another library.
Select your shape by tapping on it.
Active Slide or Tocuh Slide. You can use Adobe Slide or Touch Slide to place the shape on the canvas. Access Touch Slide by tapping on the circular icon at the top of the menu bar.
Place the shape.  Once you have activated Touch Slide, you will see a light rendition of your shape on the canvas.  Simply double tap on the shape outline to stamp the shape in place.
    Web:
    Navigate to https://assets.adobe.com/
Select the Libraries menu item (left menu on the page)
Select the desired library (if this is your first time using Libraries, you will only have one).
This page provide a preview only.

    Thankyou

Hi Victoria and welcome to the forum.
I had to Google Shape but it looks interesting, and dies use the CC Libraries.  I am a big fan of CC Libraries, but have only used them between apps on the same machine.  So it is just a matter of see how they work between different systems
Illustrator Help | Creative Cloud libraries - collaborate, sync, and share assets
In my experience, I simply drag an asset onto the Library in one app, and it is there in my other apps.  But I have to make sure I am looking at the same library name on both computers.  Now I have been confused over syncing before, but I suspect that if you open the Application Manager and click on the little Cog icon, and in the Files tab make sure Sync is checked.  Otherwise you might as well read the help files.

  • How to create unique shapes in Illustrator CS4

    First off....
I am new to the Adobe suite of applications and also new to owning a Macbook Pro. I have been using a design program for Windows for many years.
I would like to master the creation and manipulation of shapes using Illustrator CS4.
As one example, how would I create the following:
I want to end up with a shape that is similar to one-quarter of a full moon.
Using my Windows program (not an Adobe product), I would create a line using a line tool, and then I would be able to convert that line to a curve using a shape tool, which would enable me to drag from the midpoint of the line and have it become an arc. Then, while still using the shape tool, I could click once to select one of the endpoint nodes to then click on an "auto-close" option which would add a straight-line edge to close the shape for outline and fill purposes (so one side of the shape is straight at this point and the other side is curved). Using the shape tool, I would double-click near the midpoint of the straight edge to add a new node to the shape, and then I would use the "convert to curve" option from within the shape tool to be able to drag this straight side towards the curved side to end up with the quarter-moon shape as desired.
How would I make this sort of shape using Illustrator, and as a general question for learning, how can I learn all about how to put lines in the design space for purposes of joining these lines, curving any part of one or more lines and then filling or outlining the finished shape made from joined lines?

    > and as a general question for learning, how can I learn all about how to put lines in the design space for purposes of joining these lines, curving any part of one or more lines and then filling or outlining the finished shape made from joined lines?
Well, you can read the documentation. That will be much more thorough and methodical than asking a random series of "how do I..." questions in a user forum. And it will take you
    a lot less time.
    > Using my Windows program (not an Adobe product)
You can say the name. If there's actually anyone here who doesn't know other drawing programs exist, well, they
need to. Your description sounds like Xara Xtreme.
    > I want to end up with a shape that is similar to one-quarter of a full moon..create a line...convert that line to a curve...drag from the midpoint of the line and have it become an arc...select one of the endpoint nodes... "auto-close"...double-click near the midpoint of the straight edge to add a new node..."convert to curve"...drag...
A similar procedure could be used in just about any vector drawing program that draws cubic Bezier curves. A much quicker procedure could also be used in just about any program, by leveraging the geometric shape tools and path combination commands that are just as ubiquitous:
    1. Draw a circle.
    2. Duplicate the circle.
    3. Overlap the circles partially.
    4. Use one circle to "punch" the other, leaving the difference (the crescent shape).
Here are two AI-specific differences I note in your description:
Illustrator can't bend a straght segment by dragging its middle if the straight segment has both its associated curve handles retracted. Dragging such a segment in AI just moves the segment (and its associated anchorPoints).
Illustrator displays fills on open paths. There is no option to turn off that often unwanted behavior.
Again, read the manual (the online Help files). It will take you decades to learn the program by asking random questions on the basic use of the tools, location of commands, organization (well, disorganization) scheme of the program, etc., etc.

  • Adobe Shape crashes on startup.

Hi. have an iPhone 6 plus.
Restored from a backup from an iPhone 6.
Now Adobe Shape crashes on startup. Anyone else experiencing this?
    All software up to date.

Hi. Yes the app has access to camera and images.
I've toggled them on and off and restarted the app a few times with the same result.
It feels like it is when it's just about to show the camera view that it crashes. It displays the camera ui for a few milliseconds and then crashes.
The only thing i know that I have done is that I have made  a new library and have deleted one but i can't remember if I deleted the default library or not.
There is something going on with the translation to swedish in the app.
If I check in Illustrator CC I have a "My library" with Adobe Shape documents in it that I made then I had the app running on an iPhone 6.
I have a "Mitt bibliotek" (Swedish for my library) that it says is deleted in Creative Cloud.
And I have a "Mitt bibliotek" with Adobe Brush documents.
Maybe it's looking for a library that's missing or choking on the translation of my library or something like that.
(Although I now transfered the "deleted" Mitt bibliotek back to Creative Cloud from Illustrator. And started Adobe Shape again. But I get the same crash.)

  • How can I share shapes created with Adobe Shape?

You can access your shapes in the Libraries panel within Photoshop and Illustrator.  If you would like to share the file with another person, simply drag the shape onto your canvas and then save the shape as a new file.  From here, you can email the file or add it to a shared drive.

  • Adobe Shape app won't sync with my desktop application.

I have just downloaded the new Shape app and after messing around with it a bit, I created a shape that I wanted to sync with Illustrator on my desktop. When I launched my illustrator program it wouldn't show up in my library. I've tried syncing from my phone as well as from my desktop. For some reason I have two separate libraries with shapes on my phone and and different shapes on my computer.  When I log out of the app on my phone, it erases my library. It's possible it's a bug since the app is new, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem.

    Hi kirstinmarie
There's probably a couple of things it could be, including settings on your phone itself.
    Here's something to check first:
Does the Sign In you have used on the Phone match the Adobe ID you use for your Creative Cloud membership?
To find the sign in used with Adobe Shape app on your phone:Launch Adobe Shape app, choose Settings (If you are in your library, tap on the shape icon in the top left, until you see Settings), then tap on My Account. Take note of the email address listed below Adobe ID.
To find the sign in used on your computer:
Launch Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app (If you are a Windows user: click show hidden icons (lower right) in the taskbar to launch CC Deskop App, if you're a Mac user click the CC-icon in the menubar (top right).
In the top right corner of the CC app, select the gear-icon and choose preferences from the menu.
In the Preferences Dialog Box, click on Account (General tab). Take note of the email address listed here.
If the Adobe ID used on your phone is different, return to Adobe Shape app on your phone, and sign out, then sign in with the credentials used on your computer:
    Launch Adobe Shape App.
    Access Settings again (see above).
    Tap on My Account
Tap on email address listed below Adobe ID.
In the pop-up window that appears, tap on Sign-Out.
At the bottom of the screen, you now have an option to 'Sign Up for Free' (left) or 'Sign In' (right).
Tap on Sign In, and in the Sign in screen that appears, enter the Adobe ID (email) and password you are using on your computer for your Adobe Creative Cloud Membership.
If the above isn't what the issue is, there is something else to check:
Are you using your mobile on a WiFi or through Mobile net.
There will be settings on your phone that will allow you to control whether mobile data is being used for apps you have installed. When your phone is on mobile only, you might find that the phone is blocking the sending through of data from the Adobe Shape app.
    On an iPhone:
    Access Settings app
    Tap on Mobile
Swipe up until you see 'Adobe Shape' under the 'Use Mobile Data For' heading.
Enable Mobile data usage for 'Adobe Shape'.
    Hope this helps,
    Cari

  • Can I create shapes in Illustrator CC?

    Hi,
Can I create a shape in Illustrator CC for my library? If so how?

I Was hoping somebody from Adobe could answer this pretty quickly.
If it's a no, consider it a major feature request!

  • Can you add a shape from Illustrator to your shape library to use inside Draw?

I have some logo files and some stuff already created in vector that I'd like to use as "shapes" in Draw... I have them in a CC Library... but when I go to Draw and try to change to that library, it says "0 shapes".
    How do I do this?
I'd rather not have to save them as JPEGs and load them to my phone and then shape recognize them in the adobe Shape CC app. Seems there should be an easier way.

Unfortunately, Adobe Draw currently only supports shapes that were created by the Adobe Shape app. It currently does not support generic svg files or svg files exported from Illustrator. Your request is not an uncommon one, but I don't have any info about if or when that will be supported.
    Hope that helps,
