Cheers Martin

They have to stop production of the illustratror and add the
most cool
feature of the illustrator in freehand or, they have to
change all the meanu
and shortcuts of freehand & illustrator as same, so that
poeople can easily
swich between them. Because it is very difficult for the
designers to switch
their ideas in new software environment. If they puzzle
around the tols,
then they can't deliver good creativity.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc-) through Citrix XenApp 6 / 6.5.

We would like to deploy the Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc…) through Citrix XenApp 6 / 6.5.  Does anyone know if this is possible – are there any deployment guides.  I haven’t been able to find any so I’m assuming it’s not officially supported.
    Thank you
    Stuart

We have a few of the products installed. You will find they work okay but nothing replaces working locally.
We are, however, using the Enterprise version that is not tied to cloud accounts.
We have had to play with the video setting of Citrix for better Quality. If you ratchet them up to high for someone that is doing high end editing your performance drops significantly. The screen refresh is blocky and no one doing this work would find it usable.
We have it there fore simple editing and managing our media. I am looking for a much better storage solution that is sharable across platforms and locations.

  • Adobe latest FreeHand MX upgrade, Would you pay?

Dear FreeHand User all over the world,
To upgrade Freehand MX (The world most user friendly vector
    software).
We need numbers, the shareholders needs to know how much is
the return if Adobe is going to upgarde FreeHand MX.
If FreeHand Users all over the world puts his/her name on
this list that they will pay for an upgrade as soon as it is
available. If the numbers is in millions. Adobe shareholders may
    reconsider their decision.
Let us all show our genuine interest. Just type "Yes, I will
upgrade my FreeHand MX with Adobe"
    Keep our fingers cross.
    FreeHand User Since 1990
    Jack Png

    > I would like to point out one small but important thing.
Draw a text block in illustrator, type some text, then try moving
the text block with your pointer tool. It will move if you point to
the text baseline or the perimeter of the text block but if you
point anywhere inside the text block, it will not move.
Go to Edit>Preferences>Type and turn off the Type
Object Selection By Path Only option.
Jack, you do your own cause more damage than good when you
don't check your facts. This is exactly the kind of thing that
makes Illustrator devotees think FreeHand users are merely whining
because they are too lazy to learn another program that is "no
    better than Illustrator."
Now let me give you one: In FreeHand, select an object. Now
move it numerically, not in terms of vertical and horizontal
distances, but in terms of direction and distance.
Now wouldn't you say that functionality is pretty dang basic?
Look: In alot of important and basic ways, FreeHand is a
better vector drawing interface than Illustrator ever will be. But
the ugly truth is, that's not really saying much.
"FreeHand Addict"? You guys are addicted to mediocrity.
(Never mind that AI "addicts" are addicted to worse.) "Give me
FreeHand or give me death"? Give me a break. "Monopoly"? Look up
the meaning. If this were an illegal monopoly the FTC would be all
    over it.
If you can't stand Illustrator, give Corel or Canvas a go.
Reward them for also being better than Illustrator, and for
surviving despite its market share. Moreover, do your homework.
Make LEGITIMATE and SUBSTANTIVE comparisons between FH and AI, so
that Adobe (and more importantly, Illustrator users) will
understand that the complaints are based on meaningful fact, not
    mere habituated favoritism.
And finally: Post those comparisons where they can make a
difference. You guys are just preaching to the choir here. "
Millions"? Where do you get that figure? I count 18 different
responders in 13 days. Criminy, there's more interest than that in
some of the most mundane single threads in the Illustrator forums.

  • Unable to launch File sync and to update Adobe Exchange panel in Illustrator CC 2014

I suppose that these two problems might be related, as I need the file sync to sync the extensions?
Anyway, I’m unable to launch a file sync, and when I update the Adobe Exchange panel in Illustrator, it asks for a reboot, and after the reboot, it asks again for an update…
    Thanks for the help!

I've since received information of a workaround - listed in a different thread: Unable to install non-standard updates - Cannot launch/update Adobe Digital Publishing for InDesign CC 2014
Try the following to enable updates:
    1) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0 and you will find a .dat file ( AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat).
    2) Please open the file in question and you will find a line item : <Suppressed>1</Suppressed> .
    3) Please change the Value from 1 to 0 and save the file back in the same location.
On a Mac, essentially the same, however location: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
I was given further advice that DPS toolkit updates are not available when you create the deployment package from Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition on Mac OS. (I believe this may be the same using Creative Cloud Packager as you've found)
Deployment DPS Toolkit Update| AAMEE |Mac OS
The above article suggests that you can download and install the DPS update silently, however, an end user must be logged into computer - not really feasible for enterprise environments.
So I guess the process for this would be:
1)Copy the contents of the DPS update package to remote machine
2)Enable updates by modifying the AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat file
3)Remotely launch the DPS update silently (when someone is logged onto machine)
    4)Disable updates again when complete...

  • Complete flex 3 to 4 migration guide?

I have a moderately large AIR project developed in flex 3. I tried to migrate to flash builder 4 (import the project folder) and got tons of errors. Besides, it seems fb4 doesn't recognize my project is an AIR project. I wonder if the flex team can provide a complete migration guide to make the migration easier. Thanks.

Simply importing an air project into FB4 beta2 shouldn't cause to many issues it should still bring it in as an mx WindowedApplication, the last air project I imported had over 70,000 lines of code and some 2,500 files and the only problem was an extended  graphics component.
Don't move the project folder into your workspace it needs to be imported from its original FB3 workspace, unlike FB3 when you import a project it doesn't move the project into your current workspace it just updates the settings of the project folder so its an idea to back things up before importing.

  • Fonts will not automatically enable in Font Book, fonts also will not load Adobe CS5 Indesign or Illustrator.

    Hello,
My fonts stopped enabling automatically in font book, and do not load in Adobe Indesign CS5 or Illustrator CS5 when I use these programs.
The font names are usually displayed in brackets such as [Times New Roman] in the drop down menu for fonts.
So far I've found two different libraries for font, but I'm not sure about deleting them for fear of losing my fonts.
Also where do I find the font cache? If I clear it, can I possibly get the fonts to enable themselves again.
I'm using a 2006 Macbook Pro, and running Snow Leopard (Mac OSX 10.6.8).
Thank you in advance for any help.

Thank you for your reply. I have a few comments of my own.
    (1) You, ~Bee, accused me of using "another person's wisdom here". In some quarters, this would be called plagiarism.
If I were Oscar Wilde, I'd say that bad manners were a far more grievous sin than plagiarism. But I'm not. Good manners is one thing, and I'll be the first to admit that my manners can stand a considerable degree of improvement. Plagiarism is something quite different, and I deeply resent being accused of such an action.
    (2) In this recent thread
    <https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3648940?tstart=30>
I see a Level 5 contributor doing precisely what I did. Yet, curiously enough, I see no guardian of good manners jumping up to chastise him for it. Am I to understand that this is a case of quod licet Jovi, non licet bovi? We're supposed to do what our betters say, not what our betters do? (Of course, I'm absolutely, positively sure that you, ~Bee, have never, ever, replied to a post simply with a link.)
    (3) In two recent threads, I've had occasion to direct OPs to the same web page
    <https://discussions.apple.com/message/17201779#17201779>
    <https://discussions.apple.com/message/17245704#17245704>
In the former thread I wrote,
You need to read Kurt Lang's paper on font management
In the latter thread I wrote,
Read Font Management in OS X, by Kurt Lang. The author is a frequent contributor to this forum.
And you must be very well aware of this, because you posted yourself in the latter thread, not once, but thrice.
Knowing this, I don't see how you could have had any reason to accuse me of "going to use another person's wisdom here".
Knowing this, you could have made the charitable assumption that I was, possibly, in a bit of a hurry when I replied with nothing but a link, and act accordingly. (That, incidentally, would have been considered good manners in my part of the world.)
Does that seem like too much trouble, ~Bee?

We are sad, mad & need all the help we can get...

I'm not a apple fan neither - former mac user
We need a Opera Migration Guide.
A lot of the web tools I need are already in place like Web Developer Toolbar & FF Developer Tools!
Need to figure a simple way to export Contacts & Mail from Opera's M2 Mail to SeaMonkey, Simple Mail or better lightweight e-Mail client.
I could do many cool things in Opera that have not figured out yet in FF.
"Content Blocker" would still work even if JavaScript was OFF - Great for Web Dev ;)
In hotmail I could view the Source Code of Spam Message w/out even opening the junk. I use this technique to see what I needed to block from the headers & body.
I still like IRC - must have for the Leo Laporte - Tech Guy Radio Show!
Still Need: Window Size in Title Bar, Page Zoom Controls, Small Screen (Very Basic Mobile View), Check Box Controls on Toolbar, Author/User Modes, Easy Proxy On/Off - I use a Check Box Control on Toolbar!
    & More I've missed...

For IRC you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chatzilla/ Chatzilla] addon.

Can you check into this for me.

If you want Adobe to check it you'll need to contact them (use CHAT) but you could try checking whether you just need to SIGN IN to your apps.

    Mac OS X 10.6.7

When Firefox is open the zoom function (option/command/space bar) does not work in Adobe programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). This happens only when Firefox is open and when I close it the zoom functions work fine again without having to restart the applications.
This is intermittent but happens quite frequently each day if Firefox is active.

MDN doesn't mention -chrome being used for ordinary web pages: https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/Command_Line_Options#Chrome
    When I use
    firefox.exe -chrome about:permissions
I get a usable window, but zoom doesn't work as you noted.
How about using an intermediate page and window.open() for the target page? You can (mostly) restrict the chrome of windows opened that way, but it will leave behind the intermediate window...

    Hi all,
I am desperately looking for the above mentioned migration guide. Could someone provide a link or the document itself? That would be really great.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
We are expecting a project on SQL server to Oracle database migration.
The link suggested doesn't seems to work.
Is there any document which would provide the basic guidline and terminology used in migration.
Please note that one of the links I have is to the Oracle Migration Workbench at OTN
Needed some other document to refer.

  • Latest Migration Guide

    Hi,
we developed almost 1000 forms and 800 reports with Designer 1.3.2 and Headstart 3.4.2. Forms were all 100% generated and reports circa 70%.
Now we migrate to developer 6i and we run in all kinds of troubles and problems. We choose simple upgrade path from Headstart Migration Guide ver. 2.1.2.0.2, but this guide is limited. Is there available any newer or updated migration guide, that we can get it? And any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Miran

    Hi Jack,
I agree with Cliff. You should complete the
Post-deployment Configuration properly in Server Manager firstly. Then you will be able to open the Windows Server Essentials Dashboard.
In addition, for migrating SBS 2003 to Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, please refer to following TechNet article
and check if can help you.
Migrate from Previous Versions to Windows
Server 2012 R2 Essentials or Windows Server Essentials Experience
If anything I misunderstand or any update, please feel free to let us know.
    Hope this helps.
