  • Another quick query: keyboard shortcut for strikethrough?

I've noticed the shift+apple+Q shortcut no longer works on CS4 for strikethrough, it goes to the help menu instead . Is this hidden somewhere else, or do I need to set it up in preferences? I'm not sure I would change this.
I would appreciate the help as I use it a lot!
    Thanks

Have you recently updated your Operating System? The help shortcut is an Apple Shortcut and, as a general rule, Apple shortcuts take precedence over Adobe shortcuts. If there's a conflict, you have to turn the Apple shortcut off (or change it to a different key command you know isn't used). To do this, go to System Preferences > Keyboard and Choose the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. Select Application Shortcuts from the left hand menu and uncheck the box for Show Help Menu.

  • Expose Keyboard Shortcut Changes Don't Affect Slow-Mo

Because I use my F keys for working in the Adobe CS2 Suite, I have changed the Expose keyboard shortcuts to require the ctrl key.
However, this did not change the slow-motion Expose key combinations. For example: while the F10 Adobe shortcut now works on the Adobe App, when I try to use the Shift-F10 Adobe shortcut I still get the slow-motion Expose. I do not see that keyboard shortcut anywhere in the preferences menus, so I don't know how to re-map it.
I don't want to lose the slow-mo... I still want it because it still causes envy in my PC using friends! I just want to re-map it.
Can anyone give me a suggestion? Thanks.
PS: This brings up a suggestion: since Apple makes all their own hardware why not put in separate buttons or other hardware controls for Expose & Dashboard? If Microsoft can single-handedly get all their IBM cloners to put a Windows key on all their PCs (genius marketing in the guise of usability), I don't' see why Apple can't do the same with the hardware they design and manufacture (and their button would actually be useful!)

I have a similar problem, where I try to publish a flash file using shift-F12 and instead get the slow expose. I really don't care for it, just want to totally disable it. Anyone know how?

  • What's up with Flash function key shortcuts in OSX?

I'm teaching a class for Flash CS3 on the Mac to about 24 students. I've been using Flash in Windows for a long time, but it's been awhile since I worked on a Mac.
Our classroom has about 24 iMacs running the latest OS X (not sure exactly which version). Several Flash keyboard shortcuts don't work -- shortcuts that I use a lot, like F8 to convert to symbol.
I was able to successfully disable the goofy Mac search feature that takes over another common Adobe shortcut that I use a lot (CMD-Space, in Flash/Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign it allows you to temporarily access the zoom tool). In the System Prefs control panel, there was a shortcut for F8 for some other system feature, but even with that disabled, the shortcut still doesn't work in Flash.
Another strange thing that's happening with most of these Macs: the Properties panel popup for creating a tween doesn't work. Applying a tween in other ways --- the Insert menu, CTRL-clicking and choosing from the popup menu -- works fine. If a tween is applied with the properties panel, the tween appears as broken (dashed line) in the Timeline.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance in sorting out these Mac issue in Flash CS3.

  • Actions Shortcut in AI CS5

Recently recorded a simple action (Copy, Paste in Place) and assigned the Keyboard Shortcut to F15. The action will execute correctly if accessed through the Actions panel or in Button Mode, but will not execute from the keyboard shortcut. Tried assigning different function keys, but none responded, or overrode the Adobe shortcut to perform the default commands (ex. F4 went to Dashboard). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Help needed in Carolinas

    Hi,
It seems that Acrobatder has not been set as default to view the pdf files.
Right click on the pdf file and go to 'Properties'.
Under 'General' tab, opens with > click on 'change' button
A new window called 'open with' would pop up on screen asking you to choose the program to open the file.
Select Acrobat and at the bottom make sure 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' is checked and then click on 'Ok'
This should set Acrobat as the default program to launch the pdf files.
Let me know if this worked for you or not.
    Regards,

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application:
    C: >> Program Files (x86) >> Adobe >> Photoshop Elements 11
Within the Photoshop Elements 11 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (the application not the Adobe shortcut)
Select that file and click Next.
    Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by right-clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen. Try choosing “Run As Administrator” That often improves stability.

  • Why won't my imovie file open?

Please someone help me!! I am doing a school project and as I was about to upload my project file from imovie to my desktop, the whole thing shut down. My file is lost, and I can only find a corrupted version of the file, which is probably an earlier version, and it won't open. How do I get back my finished project?
I have tried deleting the preferences and opening the corrupted file in bbedit and so far, nothing has worked. My computer says it is opening the file, as the properties have changed and it shows a more recent time that this file has been opened.
If anyone could help, that would be much apprectaited!
    THANK YOU!!!!

Essentially the same thing. I double click on the Adobe Shortcut on my desktop, and it opens up for a minute, the blue circle spins and then it just closes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, downgrading to adobe 9.4 and nothing seems to work.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 will not restart after closing.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate.  If I close Photoshop Elements 12, it will not restart.
To get it to restart, I have to open the Windows Task Manager and then stop the process "PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe *32".
Once I stop this process, then Photoshop Elements 12 will restart.
Is there a know solution for this?

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor which will bypass the welcome screen.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    C: >> Program Files (x86) >> Adobe >> Photoshop Elements 12
Within the Photoshop Elements 12 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor (the application not the Adobe shortcut)
Select that file and click Next.
    Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double-clicking on the new desktop icon and hopefully the application will close correctly.

  • AdobeColorCommonSetRGB/Error 1603 installation solution

I wanted to share this fix I found at another Adobe forum. I was getting this error, when trying to install CS4. I run Windows XP.
    AdobeColorCommonSetRGB
    Error:
Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.
What was happening here is that CS4 is trying to replace the sRGB Color Space Profile.icm, which is located here:
    System32\spool\DRIVERS\COLOR\sRGB Color Space Profile.icm
This happens, because above the file is LOCKED.
    I installed "Unlocker" http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker
I searched for the file and unlocked it, tried the installation again and it worked with no problem. It just could not replace sRGB Color Space Profile.icm.
Now, if someone would explain why the Adobe shortcuts weren't installed...:-) That's the only glitch I had.
    Hope this helps!
    Gloria

In this reply you'll  find a solution for the problem in windows 7.
As said before the error occurs when installing the file AdobeColorCommonSetRGB.
The problem is caused by programs locking the file sRGB Color Space Profile.icm. In my case Explorer. As you cannot kill the explorer to unlock the file I found another solution to rename it:
Start windows 7 in safe mode with prompt. In this mode there is no explorer to lock the file.
First you need rights to rename the file
    1.     At the command prompt, input
    takeown /f c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\colors\sRGB*.icm
    2. Press Enter on the keyboard.
    3. A message will be displayed that this completed successfully.
    4. Now input icacls c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\colors\sRGB*.icm /grant (your username):f
    5. A message will be displayed that this completed successfully
    6. Now input ren c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\colors\sRGB*.icm srgbold.icm .
Boot to your normal windows to reinstall the CS4 program. It creates a new sRGB Color Space Profile.icm.
    Good luck.

  • Image not in Elements when launched from LR5

I am running under the Photographer's subscription with LR5 and Photoshop cc 2014 on a Windows 8.1 platform. All software is up to date. When I do Photo>edit in>PS Elements 12, Elements launches, a TIFF copy is made and is deposited in LR5, but the photo is not in Elements for editing. Size is not a problem. I tried a small photo of just a few mpx.

Check your settings for external editing in LR Prefs.
If necessary click the choose button and browse to the Editor Application as it is easy to choose an Adobe shortcut by mistake  - see image below:
