Adobe soundbooth cs4 hangs when called from premiere cs4 in windows 7 64 bit
Whenever I try to edit a soundfile from within premiere cs4 Soundbooth starts and then hangs on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine; works fine in XP pro.
I discovered the problem only occurs once I try to open an mp3 file in Soundbooth CS4 from within Premiere CS4 and Sounddbooth is not already running.
If I open Soundbooth before I try to open an mp3 or any sound file in Soundbooth CS4 from within Premiere CS4 then there are no problems. So the workaround is easy: start Soundbooth before I try to edit soundfiles form within Premiere.
Question: are you using 64 bit Windows 7?

Environment.Exit hangs when called from an application domain exception handler
I've implemented a handler for exceptions not thrown in the main GUI thread of my C# WinForms application, as follows:
AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException += OnUnhandledExceptionThrown;
This handler is called from a background thread. The last statement in this handler is a call to
Environment.Exit with the application exit code. However, the application hangs in this call. From within Visual Studio, it hangs and I'm unable to break the application; I have to use Task Manager to terminate Visual Studio. Environment.Exit
works fine when called from the unhandled exception handler for the GUI thread. Is there a better way to terminate the application in the context of an unhandled exception thrown by a background thread? Are you just trying to avoid a crash? Environment.Exit can cause deadlocking if exiting in the wrong kind of scenario; if you're just trying to avoid a crash, use
GetCurrentProcess with
TerminateProcess to terminate your own process. It skips the notification phases that Environment.Exit uses which prevents the common deadlock scenarios.

Bring Excel 2007 to the front when called from LabView v9 in Windows 7
I am building a duplicate system using Windows 7, LabView v9 and Excel v2007. The original system used WinXP, Excel 2007 and LabView v8.6. The issue is that the original system was able to bring Excel to the front when called from Labview using the property node -application-> visible. This new configuration runs Excel, loads the data, runs the macros but does not bring Excel to the front. The icon blinks in the Win7 taskbar and when selected displays over LabView. If I minimize the Labview window, Excel is there. This leads me to conclude that Excel is visible, as requested but will not come to the front until selected from the taskbar. The only differences, besides the versions, is the original system template files used the .xls extension in and was run in Excel in compatible mode. At the customers request, the new system uses the .xlsm extension on the Excel template files. I have tried using application.visible = True in the macro as well. Could be a setting in Labview? Could be a setting in Excel? Could be .xls vs. .xlsm? Or an issue with Windows 7 and the newer version of Labview.
HP workstation - Labview v9 - Windows 7 - Excel 2007 sp2
Thank you in advance

Solved!
Go to Solution.I will try the windowstate change. Were these done in succession? (i.e. property node -> property node -> property node) Or were they done along the way such as call the ActiveX open and a property node then in a worksheet modification area etc. so there was some time between calls?
I am not sure about the API since the discussion there is with regard to DDE. (Taken from the link document: If you want to call a DLL that contains ActiveX
objects, use the Automation
Open VI with the Property
Node and the Invoke
Node.). I am calling Excel as an application not as a library call unless I am mistaken, which I could certainly be. Are you thinking that once Excel is active through the Automation Open VI that a DLL call to set the application visible would work? I may be trying this already but in Excel through the use of the macro I call from LabView. It contains application.visible = True at the beginning before reading files and plotting data.
I may try sprinkling Property node with application->visible in various locations in the LabView diagram as I do update cells after the call to the plot macro. The puzzle for me is the blinking Excel icon in the task bar. This means active and running but not visible or something wrong as well. There are a few #VALUE cells if not all test in the system are run. Again not a problem in Excel 2007-WinXP-LV8.6
Thank you again one and all. -
Encore CS5 hangs when called by Premiere Pro CS5 using Dynamic Link
Need help from folks,
Have done so far:
1. unistall CS5 package , reinstall CS5 package Production Premium. Reinstall all updates. Still get the problem.
2. Problem seems to be pop-up screen do not accept any 'click' to input answer to Encore CS5
3. Premiere Pro CS5 working fine
Please help.
TTThanks again pointing out the Adobe CC Cleaner URL
When I said CCleaner previously, I was refering to a program that clean out garbages from PC (broken links, shortcuts, temp files, etcetera..)
But late on, I have found out Adobe CC Cleaner (for Creative Cloud and CS5, CS6...) for cleaning Adobe craps after un-install.
I just wish the hotline could mention it and not having me to swim to find out that tool does exists saving some precious time.
Here is the status and what I have done to fix the problem:
...yeah, I was shooting in the dark...
1. Uninstall completely Adobe Premiere Production CS5 (remove preferences)
2. Run Adobe CCleaner (choose "all")
3. Shutdown PC, reboot and Cleanup and Defragment C: drive
4. Re-install completely Adobe Premiere Production CS5 (all products)
5. Re-apply completely Adobe Premiere Production CS5 (all products)
(note: for some reason, I need to do it three times to get the complete updates done, just retry and no changes between retry)
6. Result : PremierePro still working fine, still hangs on Encore
(Encore dialog screen was frozen as before from the begining and I had to use "Window-Task-Manager" to "end-the-task" of Encore)
7.Conclusion: the problem is on the PC not AdobePremiereProduction
8. Decision: Restore previous checkpoint of Window-7 Professional components
9. Redone steps 1,2,3,4,5
10. The result is the same as mentioned in point 6 and the conclusion is the same as mentioned in point 7.
11. Ultimate Decision: Ground-zero style resfresh (see the follwoing steps)
12. Separate Data from Window-7 (Move out all data from PC and unplug all connected portable hard drives
13. Factory restore of Window-7 Professional using DVD-rescue (hard drive C: wiped out and reformatted)
14. Apply all Updates for Window-7 Professional (over 121 updates, over 700Mb and many shutdown-reboot)
15. Reconfigure Wireless for connecting to Internet
16. Re-Install McAfee Antivirus
17. Re-Install some usefull Softwares (Microsoft Office 2010 Professional, etcetera... Shareport for wireless USB Printer)
18. Lot of Canon and Sony Softwares not re-installed because not used and not needed for now
19. Clean install AdobePremiereProduction CS5 (no need to run Adobe CCleaner)
20. Apply all updates for AdobePremierProduction CS5 (result is intermittent and have to retry few times to get it completed)
21. Apply one by one updates for every single Adobe product to get it done\
22. Shutdown and cleanup C: drive and defragment C; drive
22. From now on, I am sure to have a FRESH an CLEAN PC with a CLEAN CS5
23. RESULT: AdobePremierePro-CS5 still working perfectly AS BEFORE
24. RESULT: AdobeEncore-CS5 standalone do not hang ANY MORE
but get error on MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ ? (with no details and some question marks) new
24. Get message saying QUICKTIME not installed (with warning)
25. Okay, install QUICKTIME from Apple to please CS5
26. Shutdown PC, reboot PC just to be sure everything kick in properly
27. RESULT: same as in point 24 (get error on MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ ? (with no details and some question marks)
28. It's SHOOT in the DARK, ON MORE TIME, BABY
29. Focusing on MicroSoft Visual C++ component: Comparing Installed products between my OLD PC and the freshly factory restored one
30. The old PC has Microsoft Visual C++ 2005,2008 and 2010 (both x64 and x86)
31. the new PC only has Microsoft Visual C++ 2008,2010 (both x64 and x86)
32. Decision : Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (both x64 and x86) (trying to have same softwares on both PC)
33. Reboot PC after install
34. AMAZING RESULT: Adobe-Encore-CS5 is functionning OKAY
35. Testing time: I created a very small project in AdobePremierePro-CS5 and I was able to DynamicLink to Encore-CS5 and I was able to create on disk a DVD
and I was able to play that DVD
36. DID I DO ALL THOSE STEPS FOR NOTHING, WHY IT WAS SO COMPLICATED,
I WILL TEST IT AGAIN WITH MY BIG PROJECT (76 Ggis and 1 hour 18 minutes Blu-Ray) sometimes this week
I SPENT TOO MUCH TIME TROUBLESHOOTING AND I AM LOOSING MY CREATIVITY (....LOL...)
BELIEVE ME, I AM EXHAUSTED AND NEED SOME REST.

File upload hanging when called from another form
Hi
I have created a file upload form from the documentation I found on metalink and the form works fine on its own. I have then implemented the form into a multi form application and when the file upload form is called from another form it hangs trying to get to the client drive so that it can pick up a file. I have tried using the 'call_form', 'open_form' and 'new_form' built-ins but the results were all the same. Can anybody help me?
MariaHello,
This is not the support, so there are no post more urgent than other.

Reader 8/Reader 9 hang when called from a ShellOpen
We are having an interesting issue with Reader 8 and Reader 9, opening pdf documents from an application we wrote. Here is the scenario using Reader 9 running on Windows XP, computers running Svc. Packs 2 or 3.
I have Reader 9 installed, Windows File Types specifically call for the extension .pdf to open with Reader 9. If I click on a pdf file in Explorer, the document comes up in 9. If I use either IE or Firefox and call a pdf file from HTML code, Reader 9 opens the file without fail.
If I attempt to open a pdf document from a ShellOpen, the reader does not appear on the screen. Task Manager/Processes shows the reader actually running. Each time you click on the document, the reader spawns a new process. If I open Reader then attempt to start the program? The Title Bar will show the file name? But lock up. Reader's screen is white. Have to kill the process.
So I began installing older versions of reader. Reader 8? Does the same thing. Reader 7? It works as expected! Opens the document called from a ShellOpen command. Next? Loaded the same scenario on a Vista box. Result? The code works perfectly running under Vista. Reader 9 opens the document without fail. So either Reader 9 is having a conflict with the operating system or the operating system is having conflict with Reader 9.
The code that is used to start the process of opening the pdf document is:
procedure TfMainForm.pdfManualClick(Sender: TObject);
begin
strPath := extractFilePath( paramStr( 0 ) ) + '../help/lib/';
shellOpen( strPath + 'at60_manual.pdf' );
end;
Again? this works great with Reader 7 under XP so we know the code is correct.
Is there any sort of a setting within Reader 9 that is not being set right? I did make sure Reader 9 has the latest patch.
My alternative, which I don't like is to call a browser with html code that allows the user to click and start Reader. Thats two steps, not the one step we intended the function to be.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I need to get this solved before we ship over 1000 installs in the next 30 days.
Thank you!
JackProblem solved, it was my oversight, I had not removed the check from the Print to File box in the print set up.

JavaFX hangs when called from Java
Hello
I am developing a java application with a JavaFX gui, the communication from Java works with an java interface. The communication works, but after a few updates the javaFX code hangs and subsequently the Java code also hangs.
Is this a common problem, and so is there a common solution for this.JavaFX UI calls need to be done on the Event Thread. So if your Java Application has multiple threads or runs on a different Thread to need to wrap all callbacks to JavaFX in a deferAction like this:
class YourFXClass extends YourJavaInterface {
override public function someMethod(someArgument) {
FX.deferAction(function() : Void {
// doSomething with someArgument

InfoPackage Hangs when called from Process Chain
We recently implemented the 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL DataSource and have scheduled the execution of a Delta InfoPackage in our nightly Process Chains.
After working correctly for 2 weeks the InfoPackage has hung the last 3 nights. It is being called and when I view the process chain log it is in the yellow (in process) status. When I look in SM37 in R/3 the extractor has not been called.
All of our master data and transactional data from other areas runs prior to this extractor and works perfectly via the process chain and if I force the InfoPackage to red and re-execute manually for 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL I have no problems.
How/where should I troubleshoot this?Hi Jonathan,
Goto your process chain-> Select the delta infopackage -> right click and select wait time and enter the time in seconds. You could set it to 600 secs(10 minutes).
This would be a permanent solution to your problem as you need not go to BD87 each time for your data load.

Stored Procedure Does Not Run Properly When Called From Portlet
We have a simple Java portlet that calls a PL/SQL stored procedure which we wrote. The stored procedure sends a large number of emails to users in our corporation using the "utl_smtp" package. The stored procedure returns a count of the emails back to the Java portlet when it's finished. This number is displayed in the portlet.
Our problem:
The stored procedure functions as expected when run from a PL/SQL block in SQL*Plus, and the Java portlet calls the procedure properly when sending out a smaller number of emails (Less than 200 usually). When we get into a higher number of emails the procedure hangs when called from the portlet, but it STILL functions properly from SQL*Plus. It does not return the number of emails sent
and the Java portlet is unable to return a SQLException. Also, we have noticed that emails are sent at a much slower pace from the stored procedure when it's called from the portlet.Any Ideas?

ABAP process hangs when calling a jCO Server J2EE-available RFC
Hi there
Here's the scenario:
We have deployed a jCO server under the SAP WAS. This jCO server implements two functions. They are both called from ABAP process through RFC. We are using the same RFC destination for both
First function is defined with import/export parameters and the second one only operates with a TABLE parameter.
Incidentally, these functions are captured by the jCO server, which calls an IBM MQ server
First function works fine. Second function hangs and there is not even a timeout so the ABAP process (run on foreground) can stay forever.
The interesting part is that the same application works really fine when called from a Tomcat using a standalon instance of the jCO.
Additional info:
We have noticed that some time after the second function gets called, there are five dumps on the system (the same amount of servers we make available). These are CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_REJECTED.
The fun part of the dumps is that the user making the RFC call is a different user that the one we use for the jCO connection, and the client number is '000', instead of the '728' we are using for the connection. Somehow they seem related but we do not know how yet:

Developer Server 6.0 hanging when launched from Netscape 4.6
Hi, simple question to ask about OAS and Developer Server.
My Developer Server 6.0 hanging when launched from Netscape 4.61,
I am currently running...
Pentium PII 200Mz running NT sp5
Forms Server version 6.0.5.31.0 (Patch 3 applied)
OAS version 4.0.7.1.0 (Patch applied)
Jinitiator 1.1.7.18
Netscape 4.61 browser
I have all the latest versions of everything that is available,
I have followed the instructions.
I successfully connect to the OAS admin utility and have setup
all the virtual to physical directory mappings under the default
listener www. I successfully start all website OAS services.
I have Forms server successfully started up as a process
listening on port 9000.
I have two statics html files created:
a) with Jinititator 1.1.7.18
The very first time I connected to this static html file it
installed Jinitiator as expected. The Forms server splashscreen
then appears.
Jinitiator then starts up successfully, no errors appear in the
Java console. This has proved I am talking to the listener and
my virtual directory mappings are working.
At this point there is a lot of disk activity and then all
stops, the splashscreen remains and appears in the discussion
area:
FRM-9999 cannot access "koala.ilaco.gov.bo:9000" and
a series of java exceptions
I am pointing to the correct java directories (I think)
b) with out Jinitiator
When I try to call using URL with Netscape 4.61 I get a
message on the status bar saying...
Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main class oracle/forms/engine/Main
got a security violation: Method verification error
Can you help ?
If you know the answer, please let me know as soon as
posible.
Thanks for the answer....

I respond your email, with my actual server configuration my
problem is now: I get the splash screen and after form is hanged.
My server configuration is:
Compaq PC, with Pentium II, the software is:
- Windows NT, with Service Pack 5
- Oracle Application Server, v.4.0.7.1.0 Enterprice Edition,
pathset 1
- Developer Server v.6 patchset 3
- My browser in this machine is Netscape 4.61
- Jinitiator 1.1.7.18 is also used.
My developer server is installed and running on the same machine
that OAS is. I am using other browser in other machine (IE5)
and trying to connect to the OAS on the first machine.
My problems begin when I launch ifsrv60.exe. I copied
ifwcm60.dll v.6.0.5.0.2, and other files required in the %
ORACLE_HOME%\bin
I forced listener Developer Server Port (
c:\orant\bin\ifsrv60.exe -listen port=9000 )
Now, I can connect with this process, with the following line:
telnet koala 9000. The listener is working now.
I tried to work with my (NonCartride-static html)forms60 form on
WEB without Jinitiator, but I couldn't.
With Netscape, in the status bar: Applet
oracle.forms.engine.Main can3t stop ERROR
With IE5, I get the splash screen and after the forms is hanged.
If I use Jinitiator:
With Netscape, in the status bar: Oracle Jinitiato: applet
oracle.forms.engine.Main inited then form is hanged.
With IE5, I get the splash screen and after that, the screen
freezes and looks like the form is hanged.
Any further suggestions on this?

Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro
Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro. I am queueing multiple files for export and Media Encoder will crash. The computer system has 32GB of RAM and the videos export fine in Premiere, but that requires exporting each one individually. Each video file is being down converted and some can be quite long (upwards of 3-5 hours). Nothing else is running on the computer that would take up memory.
Any idea why Media Encoder will crash?Try turning off GPU acceleration.

HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION not working when called from Dynamic action
Hi ,
Senario : I would like to execute a form from dynamic action which
creates a record in 0015 (Additional payment IT) .
I have writen the code as shown below am using FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION
. When i execute the program from se38 it is creating a record, however it is
not created when it is called from dynamic action..when i debugged the code in
inside the FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION there is a FM HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA where
they are using call dialog (statement) and
sy-oncom = 'N' when called from Dynamic action and
sy-oncom = 'S' when called executed directly.
I tried to change the sy-oncom to S while run from Dynamic action it created
the record.
So Can anyone explain me abt sy-oncom and how can i resolve the issue..

Why at all U want a subroutine to create a record in IT0015 through Dynamic action. There are some standard codes available to update infotypes.
Let me give U an example
14 9CON BETRG 4 2 I INS,0015 This will create a record in IT0015 when IT0014 is updated with Wagetype 9CON
14 9CON BETRG 4 3 W P0015-LGART='5400' Set wagetype for IT0015(Here U can use a subroutine call to set the wagetype)
14 9CON BETRG 4 4 W P0015-BETRG=P0014-BETRG set amount for IT0015(Here U can use a subroutine call to get the amount)
14 9CON BETRG 4 5 W P0015-BEGDA=P0014-ENDDA set the dates(Here U can use a subroutine call to set the dates)
Hope this will help U.

JTextField update problem when called from PropertyChangeEvent
Hi,
I'm trying to create forms that can be dynamically loaded with Class.forname(formName).
Those forms should always inherit some methods that make it easy to pass data to
them and receive data from them. The idea is that the data comes from a table which
sends a hashmap (String column/JTextField-name + String Value pairs) with firePropertyChanged
as soon as a new row is seleceted. The JTextFields in the form are marked with setName("FieldName") that has to correspond to the name of the columns of the table.
My problem is that I can't update the fields in my form when I'm calling getRow(HashMap)
from within propertyChangeEvent but that's necessary to keep the forms flexible.
JTextFieldName.setText(newText) just won't work. But it works when I call getRow(HashMap)
from the constructor. SwingWorker and threads to update the form didn't help.
I don't need to call pack() / update() / repaint() on the JFrame, do I ??
update() / validate() / repaint() etc. didn't work on the JTextField themselves.
Below is the code for one of the test-forms (just a JPanel that is inserted in a frame)
with all of it's methods. Does anybody have a solution to this problem ??
Thanks for taking time for that !!

I forgot SwingUtilities.invokeLater(makeChanges); in the bottom

Changes to the UI often have to be comitted by SwingUtitlities.invokeLater()
though I don't know that much about Swing yet.
Thanks to everybody who tried to solve that problem.
