Adobe Standard 8.1.2 Opens but keeps closing

I have adobe acrobat standard 8.1.2., when I open a pdf file, it opens like for 10 seconds and the program closes. How do I fix this?

I got iPhoto '11, version 9.2.3 and want to edit photos using Photoshop elements 10. I have put P'shop 10 as the preferred editor... but when I click on the photo in iPhoto the Adobe p'shop 10 program opens BUT the picture does not open for editing. Wha.

When I tried opening the mail app, it keeps crashing. What does it mean? What's wrong? Has this happened to you? What's the best way to fix this?

I do not know what specifically might have caused your problem. But this is what I do when the Mail app misbehaves.
Quit the Mail app like I describe below and then reset your iPhone.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. I hope this helps.

FF wont open from, after install/update it opens, but when closed it wont reopen.

FireFox was working, shutdown system for the night. Next morning it would not open. The browser frame opens up and the tab at the top has the little 'busy' circle looking like it is trying to do something, but it never opens. The frame will have several images of other widows dragged across it. Pulldown from the tool bar open and act like they are operational. I did an install (Update) and at the end of the installation it asks if you want to open FireFox. That one works. If I close out of the browser it will not reopen.

Comenting and stamp tools greyed out Adobe Standard XI

We have an application where the customer needs to have at least Adobe Standard in order to open pdf's in the web browser, comment and mark them up, and save using our adobe toolbar which saves back to a server. We have users who have installed and used XI standard with no problems however this one user cannot view the commenting and markups within the PDF, it is greyed out.
I have tried unchecking the "Display in Read Mode by default" under internet in preferences but this does not work. I will add that we had a contact at Adobe who gave us this reg file that would make sure the comment and markups toolbar stayed visible in our application.

DNG Profile Editor vs. Adobe Standard

I'm working in PS CS3, I shoot in Leaf 11.2 and process my files in Camera Raw 4.6. I've mostly be unhappy with the color differences between PS and Leaf. The adobe standard profile brings me close, but not enough.
I've attempted to shoot a color checker and use the DNG Profile Editor, but the profile created seems overly saturated, and gets me further from my goal of matching what I see in Leaf. Where am I going wrong? I imagined Profile Editor would be much more precise.

The short answer is the Leaf rendering is not "accurate" (a.k.a. "precise") by design. It is designed to look good, which is different. Attempting to build a very accurate profile using the chart feature of the profile editor will build a profile that is closer to being accurate, which is wrong direction if you are trying to match the Leaf rendering.
Start with the Adobe Standard profile and apply manual edits from there to move it closer to the Leaf rendering.

If you are having issues with your iPhone's Photos and Camera applications becoming unresponsive as well as issues with text messaging, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".

Yep. Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI. I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column. Now it's just blank. Link to screenshot below:

Note the install date. That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it. Now I can't even do that. I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller. It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it? It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd.

Adobe Reader does not recognize file name (filename10.5.11.pdf) but does in Adobe Standard 9. Why?

I post documents to our Intranet site and found out recently that Adobe Reader does not recognize certain file names in PDF files. For instance, when trying to open a PDF file with the name
filename10.5.11.pdf in Adobe Reader, the web browser will not open the PDF and the display is blank.   When I'm using another computer with Adobe Standard 9, I do not have a problem opening the file.
I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar issue and why Reader will not recognize the file name and Standard does.

The version is Adobe Reader 10.1.0    I will request the latest version
and let you know if that fixes the problem
Actually I had changed the name of the file so our associates could access
the file (changed the . to a hyphen) It still made me wonder why Reader
wouldn't open it at that time.

your system. You can check the same y clicking on Help > About Adobe
Reader X.
In case its not 10.1.1, please try updating to the latest version and see
if the problem persists.
Also, does any other PDF with a different filename open in Internet
Explorer correctly?

Firefox is hanging after trying to update Adobe Flash. I can't fix it as long as Firefox is open, but I'm unable to close it-menu bar won't even appear.

In the process of updating Adobe Flash, Firefox froze. It registers as being open, and none of the fixes I've tried will work as long as it's open, but I can't close it. Even when I click on the Firefox icon, the Firefox menu bar doesn't appear. No Firefox window appears.
