Adobe Standard 8.1.2 Print Output Challenge
Greetings! Some (not all!) end-users (clients) have informed me that their printed version of a pdf file contains altered spacing (eg "potato" prints out as "potat o"). One client was kind enough to allow me to run several tests, the most recent of which indicated that the altered spacing was not consistent ie first version of the pdf file showed "potat o", the second (fresh MS Word 2003 file to pdf conversion) showed "p otato".
Not all clients have this problem (and my print output is fine!) and all clients see the correctly formatted file on screen.
I've been through the kb's and the faq's and this forum... and I'm stumped. I'm reluctant to uninstall and re-install Standard, or even upgrade to Pro version, until I've exhausted the possibilities.
And since this is happening to clients, I'm also reluctant to continue to test them (both literally and figuratively).

This is on a PPC Mac with OS X 10.4.11 with latest patches. Previously install was Adobe CS1. Removed the Adobe PDF printer, PPD Plugin and PPD file prior to instal. Also removed the Version Cue 1 preference pane and preferences via Adobes Manaul removal script.

HP LaserJet P1102W - no print output in Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon Desktop
I've just done a default install of Linux Mint 17.1 - as feared, no print output.
I'm guessing I need to install a driver - but I couldn't find anything easily on HP site, only Windows/Mac OS stuff. Are HP printers generally linux friendly? Where can I download drivers if they are? More over, I'm a total linux newbie, so any drivers need to be easily installed! I'm not currently familiar with Terminal windows and line commands!
My printer does have wireless enabled, but I have it connected via direct USB also.
Linux Mint did offer to run a diagnostic tool/debugging tool which gave a great deal of what means nothing to me. Debug output is below if it is helpful, but hoping a simple driver install will cure all ...

Word 2007 to pdf in Adobe Standard 8.1 errors
I have an XP PC with Word 2007 and Adobe Standard 8.1. I'm having issues converting some
word docs to pdf but not all. You click on the acrobat tab in Word and run the converter, but it stops midway thru the process and says "Error" Other documents work fine. Could it be a template issue or something in the document itself that Adobe doesn't like, ie a symbol, format, font?? Any assistance would be appreciated.Often it is a document issue, combined with some of the screwy ways that OFFICE 2007 is working. You might try saving parts of the document to another file and delete parts until you find where there is a problem. That might likely point to the issue. Also, try to print to the Adobe PDF printer to check for potential issues. One thing that can crop up with the PDF Maker is that you run out of memory in the TEMP folder. To check that, turn off adding tags to the PDF (really bloats things) and try again. If it works, it is likely a memory issue and cleaning out the TEMP folder might take care of the problem.

Set print-output as default in Billing
Dear Friends,
To take a billing print out in SD module, we are using VF03 -> Inputing the Billing Document number -> Clicking the Billing Document option from the menu bar -> Selecting the Issue Output to -> (this gives the print output window) and here we have to select the message type eg. RD00 and click on the Print button.
Every time we have select the message type and go for the print option.
I need your help to set the message type RD00 as default on opening the print output window.
Please guide me to set the message type RD00 as default selection.

If you have already maintain output determination procedure,you need to create condition record for the output condition type for invoice-standard (RD00) or your own condition type which you have maintain for invoice output.o to VV31 select your condition type and enter and give the required details(sales org,customer)press enter and give the language,select the line and click on communication to give the printer details and save.

MickyThe handout template is hard coded. But, working with the other templates and the Word Output document, I was able to create a template that will allow you to publish the Word images and slide notes in Word. And, you can customize the placement on the page and image sizes.
Here are instructions (I'm using Captivate 6 BTW):
1. Make all of your slide notes into closed captioning.
I was able to find the computer code to call the closed captions, but not the slide notes. So you have to drop some audio onto each slide (I'm using 1 second of silence generated in Audacity) and click the button that will turn your slide notes into closed captions. Don't worry...these won't display in your published project unless you have your skin set to display them.
2. Open a new Word document.
3. Copy and paste the script below into your Word document. This script as is will print 2 slides per page with slide notes above the images.

4. Adjust the script to your liking:
1. Change the image size. This is set to 282 x 214. But you can change the image size to whatever you want it to be. If you make the size larger, fewer will fit on a page.
2. Move the slide notes, if you want. This is set to put the slide notes above the images. To put the notes below the images, move the [CPBlockInsert][CPTemplates[CC1[CPCC]CC1]
[CCN[CPCC]CCN]CPTemplates] to below [CPSlideImage][size:282x214]. Be sure to move both instances, and don't copy/paste...move!
3. Use Word's formatting options to change the page display. For example, if you use Word to center the code about slide images, the slides will be centered on the page when you publish. You can add your company's logo in the header. Type CPMovieTitle into one place to print the project title...either header or footer. It won't work if you put it in more than one place for reasons known only to Captivate. You can put page numbers or dates in the footer. You can change the font for the slide notes by highlighting the notes code (see #3 above) and making it larger, smaller, different, bold, italic, etc., etc., etc. Whatever you would do with Word to format your handouts, do in this document.
4. Add anything that you want to print on every page outside the [ ] blocks. For instance, if you want to blank lines to print under the notes, you can add before the code for the images.
5. Save the Word document in .doc format with a memorable name where you can find it. You don't have to save with the templates in the Captivate program file.
6. Publish to Print. In the upper, right corner, in the Type section, click the button with ... It's to the right of Handout. That will open a window which will allow you to browse to find and select your Word document. The Layout Options won't do anything, so no need to mess with them. Set the rest of your settings...like project title and publish location and publish.
Things that I don't know, but would like to:
1. Will this work in Captivate 7? Will someone try and let us know?
2. Can you save the Word file in .docx format?
3. Can you set the Word doc to landscape instead of portrait? (I'll bet that you can, but haven't tried it.)
4. What Word options won't work? I know that you can't put this code inside a Word table. Using column and page breaks, I got mine to print with the slide notes on the left and images on the right. Other than that, who knows? Word is a big program, so you'll just have to test.
5. What is the code to call the slide notes? I've called Adobe support twice and can't get a straight answer. If we all start calling and emailing, maybe they'll tell us.
So, I hope this helps. There are so many threads about this and I can't repost everywhere. So, please link to this thread if you see another one where this info will help.

You are completely right that you cannot find anything with smartform in the customizing (OMLV). The reason for it: It is not there. It not even exists. Also the latest version of rlvsdr40 has nothing standard concerning smartforms.
I do not know why it is really necessary to use adobe or smartforms.
The only way is to build a new one (ZRLVSDR40). In that new one you have to use the sapscriptname (from OMLV)and treat it as a smartform- name.

Adobe standard 9 crashes in Office 10 - is their an update?
When trying to use Adobe Standard 9.1 version with Office 10 it seems to hang and then crash causing Office 10 to turn off the plug in. is their an update available?
There has been no update announced yet. If you search the forum you will find topics that indicate there may be no update to AA9 to handle OFFICE 2010. You should still be able to print to the Adobe PDF printer, it is just the plugin (PDF Maker) that is not working as I understand it.

I've mostly not used Adobe Standard profile due to a significant magenta bias on my D300, but lately I've been using it more and more (and liking it) - the magenta bias is sometimes easily corrected simply by adjusting the tint slider toward green. - still not perfect for all photos, but is just what the doctor ordered for some...
Ther are following differences:
- D700 profile has the same forward matrix for both tungsten and daylight. D800 profile has different matrices, which means it is true dual-illuminant
- D700 profile has different lookup table which does some rendering (so actually this one is more similar to camera profiles), while lookup table in D800 has minimal impact to colors
- D800 profile has additional HueSatVal lookup tables for both illuminants, helping to calibrate colors more preceisely. That's why the size difference
However, Adobe didn't aim to get Nikon colors, they are calibrating their profiles to give similar output for various cameras. -
Adobe Standard Profile for D800 vs D700
Adobe Standard profile for the D800 appears to be a better color match to the Camera profiles for the D800 than Adobe Standard for the D700 color match to it's Camera profiles. I notice that the D800 Adobe Standard Profile is a larger files (118KB) than the D700 Adobe Standard Profile (55KB), so it apparently uses an updated profile. I have not used the Adobe Standard profile for the D700 because it's colors appear to be wrong, but the D800 Adobe Standard profile does not appear to have this issue.

I am using F.27 transaction for printing customers who have open balences.
i have copied the standard program RFKORD11 and created the Z program as ZRFKORD11. now the thing is if there is no opening balances for a customer its printing output. i dont want to print output those who dont have opening balances.
How can i do that? can u please send the detials.

If the print program RFKORD11 for the F.27 then use the below lgic will work for your issue.
IF NOT HBSID[] IS INITIAL.
PERFORM CHECK_OUTPUT.
PERFORM FORM_OPEN.
PERFORM AUSGABE_CUSTOMER_STAT.
PERFORM FORM_CLOSE.
PERFORM PAYMED_PRINT_OPENCLOSE.
ENDIF.
Remember you need to add the IF condition at two places. This is because the code have been called twice.

"Modifying" book templates for (locally printed) output?
Hi,
There have been many and varied threads on the subject of Apertures (in)ability to produce printed images beyond a single image per page/standard contact sheets and/or those that involve 'buying a book' [How good those books are is beyond the scope of this post ]
The light table can be used to place & scale multiple images for print output, but 'auto-scaling' seems to render this 'unreliable' at best..... [3rd parties have been 'recommended' as at least partial solutions to this problem]
It seems to me that access to the 'templates' that make up the 'book themes' would be a good idea - Darn, if I could simply double the page size from 8.5 x 11 to 17 x 22 I'd be pretty happy! [Portrait would also be really nice, but that's another story.]
Does anyone know where the 'specs' for the books are located? - If we could change the page size it seems to me we'd be home free - AP already allows us to resize photo boxes within the page and then print locally.......

2) Click on the cog and choose Save Page->As New Document Master
3) Not in Aperture - unfortunately it's design/layout tools have a few essential bits missing. AFAIK the only way to do this is to close Aperture and edit the plist files for the book template design - not for the faint hearted! You could possibly create correctly sized blank design element 'spacers' in photoshop and add them to the design as images, not sure how well that would work! -
Adobe Standard 9.1.0 crashes when attempting create .pdf from scanner
Adobe Standard 9.1.0 crashes when attempting "create .pdf from scanner" from a Kyocera Mita KM-2550 using the twain driver. The error encountered is 0xc0000005 at address 0x0000000002d78e70. I have downloaded and installed the latest updates. This is happening on two new PCs with the same configuration. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?
Spent quite a while on this one.. My problem was related to twain drivers which reside in c:\windows\twain_32. I'm running windows 7 64-bit. First it's usually possible to scan in windows 7 maybe vista and from adobe without even using twain (using WIA). So try renaming the twain_32 folder to _twain_32 and see what happens... If that stops the crashing look at the contents of the twain folder. I had a Dell folder for some printer I wasn't even using. That was causing the crash. I removed the dell folder and renamed the twain folder back to twain_32. Now everything works as designed.

Adobe "Freezes" when you select print.
I currently have a Citrix installation of Adobe Standard XI on windows 7
the protected view has been turned off
I can get adobe to print only on 2 of the 5 servers, with one allowing printing at random times.
If I log into each server with my administrative account, adobe functions properly.
Not sure what the issue is. We've replaced users profiles, adjusted adobe's setting and nothing is correcting the issue.
Additionally, adobe will not open files form the server C: or H: drives but will from other locally mapped drives
