Adobe Std9 Sig Stamp Sizing Question

After scanning my signature into a pdf file, I created a stamp for it in Adobe Std 9.  In the process of creating the stamp, I de-selected the box "Down sample stamp to reduce file size" (as per Adobe documentation).  But when I go to apply the stamp, it is too big and I ALWAYS have to resize it.  Is there a way to get around having to reduce its size every time I apply it?

George -- That worked well, except one very strange thing ...  after saving the cropped signature, when I select it in the custom stamp, it displays in a vertical position, even though I never rotated it after saving it.  If I re-open the file after the save, it still appears in a horizontal position.
One problem leads me to another!  (scratching my head)

  • Windows 7 64-bit and Quicktime - stamp sized image of player

I have Windows 7 64-bit and downloaded the latest iTunes/Quicktime program.  iTunes works fine.  When I open Quicktime, the logo appears in the tray, indicating it is open.  However, nothing opens up on the screen.  When my mouse hovers above the "Q" logo in the tray, a stamp sized screen opens above the logo and disappears after about 5 seconds.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime and get the same response.  Ideas what is wrong?

A QuickTime display preference may have blown up for you.
If that's what is afoot, rebuilding the QuickTime preferences can help, although it can be a bit of a trial to track them down on the 64-bit systems.
Close any of the QuickTime Player buttons that are currently in your taskbar.
Now we need to change some view settings on the PC. (The preferences are kept in hidden folders.)
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected.
    Click OK.
Next we'll navigate to your AppData folder.
In Computer, open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive your user documents are stored on.
    Open the "Users" folder.
Open the folder with the name of the Windows User account in which the QuickTime Player isn't displaying properly.
    Open the "AppData" folder.
Now the hunt for the QuickTime preferences begins.
    Open the "Roaming" folder.
    Open the "Apple Computer" folder.
Do you see a "QuickTime" folder in there? If so, drag that out onto the Desktop. Now try launching the QuickTime Player.
If there was no QuickTime folder in \Roaming\Apple Computer\, or if the QuickTime Player still isn't displaying properly
Quit any QuickTime player buttons in the Taskbar.
Go back into the "AppData" folder.
    Open the "Local" folder.
    Open the "Apple Computer" folder.
Do you see a "QuickTime" folder in there? If so, drag that out onto the Desktop. Now try launching the QuickTime Player.
If there was no QuickTime folder in \Local\Apple Computer\, or if the QuickTime Player still isn't displaying properly
Quit any QuickTime player buttons in the Taskbar.
Go back into the "AppData" folder.
    Open the "LocalLow" folder.
    Open the "Apple Computer" folder.
Do you see a "QuickTime" folder in there? If so, drag that out onto the Desktop. Now try launching the QuickTime Player.
Any of those measures help with the display problem?

Got it sorted though. Seems that Apple has issues with multiple apple id's.
Seems i had to somehow remember and use the original id i had when i first bought my 1st iPhone. . . .
Even after that it was extremely hard to get my apps back on my PC.

YouTube does not use Adobe Reader. Videos do not use Adobe Reader.
Adobe Reader is used only to show files in a special format called "PDF".
What you are having problems with is probably Adobe Flash Player.
So, if you are trying to solve problems with Adobe Flash Player by downloading Adobe Reader, or even Adobe Acrobat, it isn't going to help you in the end. Is that what is happening (we can't really tell without screen pictures, but it seems a likely guess).

  • Adobe X Bates Stamping and SharePoint 2010

I'm trying to use Adobe X with SharePoint 2010 and Bates Stamp a set of documents stored in a SharePoint library and running into the following issues:
    1. It's necessary to manually check out the documents in order to "stamp" them.  Is this a known issue -- is there a way to have Adobe automatically check out the documents? I suspect not but thought I'd ask (would be a nice feature to add)
    2. Once checked out, Adobe can process the documents.  However, even though I tell it to "overwrite" the existing documents and to change the file name to the Bates Stamp sequence, Adobe creates new documents in the same library.  The result is that I end up with twice as many documents in the library.  Is there a fix for this so that Adobe actually overwrites the existing documents instead of creating copies?
    Thanks

    Hi, Renew.
Since this question is not related to the CreatePDF service, but rather related to Acrobat, I've moved your question to the Acrobat forum > Creating, Editing and Exporting PDFs.

  • +++ Adobe Camera Raw - Frequently Asked Questions +++

Q: Is my camera supported by Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)?
A: Here is the list of cameras officially supported by the current version of Adobe Camera Raw and Digital Negative (DNG) converter. The page also provides links to the current version of ACR and DNG converter for both Mac and Windows.
Q: what version of Camera Raw should I install?
A: Photoshop CS6: see first question.
Photoshop CS5: Camera Raw 6.7 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS 4: Camera Raw 5.7 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS 3: Camera Raw 4.6 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS 2: Camera Raw 3.7 Win | Mac
Photoshop CS: Camera Raw 2.4 Win | Mac
    For Photoshop Elements, Windows:
Photoshop Elements 10: (See first question)
Photoshop Elements 9: Camera Raw 6.5
Photoshop Elements 8: Camera Raw 6.2
Photoshop Elements 7 and 6:  Camera Raw 5.6
Photoshop Elements 5: Camera Raw 4.6
Photoshop Elements 4: Camera Raw 3.7
Photoshop Elements 3: Camera Raw 3.6
    For Photoshop Elements, Macintosh:
Photoshop Elements 10: (See first question)
Photoshop Elements 9: Camera Raw 6.5
Photoshop Elements 8: Camera Raw 6.2
Photoshop Elements 6: Camera Raw 5.6
    Photoshop Elements 4.0.1: Camera Raw 4.6 ( 4.1 under Mac OS 10.3)
Photoshop Elements 3: Camera Raw 3.6
Q: What version of Camera Raw started to support my camera?
A: This page: http://www.adobe.com/go/kb407111 lists when support for the raw files of your camera was added in Camera Raw. If the version listed is higher than the one supported by your version of Camera Raw, you first need to convert the files to DNG using the latest version of the DNG converter in order to open them in Camera Raw.
Q: I do not have the latest version of Photoshop, how can I open the Raw files from my new camera?
A: Only the current version of Photoshop will receive ACR updates that add support for the latest cameras. However, you can download the latest version of the DNG converter, and use it to transform your raw files to the universal DNG format. Camera Raw 2.4 in Photoshop CS and all newer versions of Camera Raw compatible with your version of Photoshop will be able to open the DNG files. Photoshop 7 and ACR 1.0 do not support DNG, therefore you will need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop.
Q: When will the new update of Adobe Camera Raw be released?
A: Adobe cannot comment on unannounced products, however, it is expected that ACR and DNG converter will be simultaneously updated 3 or 4 times per year (i.e. every 3 or 4 months).
Q: What does "Unofficial Support" for a camera mean?
A: Unofficial support means that Adobe's Quality Engineering department has not tested the support to the degree that they want, and thus cannot guarantee the results. So we don't include the camera in our official lists, and don't provide any technical support. Unofficial support means "use at your own risk".
Q: How do I know that Adobe Camera Raw is installed correctly?
A: For Photoshop CS customers, the most efficient way to ensure that you have the latest Camera Raw update installed correctly is to choose the Updates option from the help menu. For Photoshop Elements customers the best way to verify that the Camera Raw plug-in is installed correctly is to make sure it appears (only once) in the "About Plug-in" menu (see: Photoshop menu on a Mac or Help menu on a PC). The correct version is displayed when you pick its name and see its about box. If "Camera Raw" is not in this list, you have not installed it correctly.
Q: Why is the profile listed in the Calibration tab showing a version of Adobe Camera Raw that's older than I am using ?
A: What you are seeing is normal, and is due to the fact that the built-in profile for your particular camera model hasn't changed between that version of Adobe Camera Raw and the version you're using now. If you see the profile listed as "beta" then your camera has only unofficial support.
Q: Why is there more than one profile listed in the Calibration tab of Adobe Camera Raw?
A: The built-in profile for your particular camera model has changed since it was first supported. The profile shown by default identifies the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw in which the profile was updated. Other profiles in the drop-down list identify those included with earlier versions of Adobe Camera Raw, and are available in case you want to maintain compatibility with earlier versions.
Q: My camera is listed, but Photoshop cannot read its raw files.
A: Download and install the most recent update to Adobe Camera Raw.
Q: Where can I download the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw?
A: Adobe Camera Raw for: Macintosh and Windows
Q: I am trying to replace my existing ACR plug-in with a more recent version, but cannot find ACR in my Photoshop/Plug-in/File Formats folder. Where is it located now?
A: As explained in the "Readme", which can be found on the ACR download page, the correct location is:
    Photoshop CS2
    Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS2/File Formats/
    Win: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-ins\CS2\File Formats\
    Photoshop CS3
    Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS3/File Formats/
    Win: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-ins\CS3\File Formats\
Note that "Common Files" is localized in non-english versions of Windows.
Q: Why do I only see a small generic icon in Adobe Bridge instead of a thumbnail when I browse the folder containing my RAW files?
A: Bridge occasionally has difficulty with RAW files, but this is usually because the user has installed ACR into the wrong location or browsed the folder prior to installing the ACR plug-in that provides support for their particular camera model. The fix for this issue is usually to make absolutely sure that ACR is installed correctly, then purge the Bridge cache. If you're in the habit of using the Distributed cache (Bridge 1.x) it would be prudent to manually delete the cache files from the folder containing your RAW files.
Q: Whenever I open an image in Adobe Camera Raw a small explanation mark within a yellow triangle appears in the upper right hand corner of the image.
A: This symbol indicates that a high quality preview is being generated by Adobe Camera Raw. It should disappear after a couple of seconds.
Q: How do I turn off Auto Adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw 3.x?
A: Open Adobe Camera Raw. On the Mac press Cmd+U or on the PC Ctrl+U. This keystroke combination toggles Auto Adjustments On and Off. Alternatively, disable the Auto Adjustments setting from the fly-out menu adjacent to the Setting drop-down menu. If you want the default to be Off for Auto Adjustments simply choose "Save New Camera Raw Default" from the fly-out menu adjacent to the "Settings" drop-down menu then choose Done.
Q: What about Adobe Camera Raw 3.7 and newer versions?
A: Camera Raw 3.7 no longer supports per slider auto adjustments. One Auto control at the top of the panel now sets the Exposure, Shadows, Brightness, and Contrast sliders to their auto values. The Default control at the top of the panel sets these same four sliders to their default values. The keyboard shortcut for the Auto control is CMD/CTRL-U.
The keyboard shortcut for the Default control is CMD/CTRL-R.
Double clicking on a slider to set that single slider to its default value.
Shift double clicking on a slider to set that single slider to its auto value.
Q: Why do I get the the following message: "Unable to create an .xmp sidecar file. The image settings will instead be stored in the Adobe Camera Raw database."
A: This message means that Adobe Camera Raw is unable to write to the XMP sidecar file. Either the media is read-only (e.g. a CD), or you don't have write access to the folder containing the image, or the existing XMP sidecar file is locked.
Q: I cannot see all the tools and buttons of Adobe Camera Raw.
A: Set your monitor resolution to the minimum required for Photoshop CS and higher, i.e. 1024x768.
Q: Where can I obtain a listing of Adobe Camera Raw keyboard shortcuts and modifiers?
A: On the Photoshop online help file.
Q: When I open my Nikon NEF files, all I see is the simple version of the raw dialog.
A: You are running Nikon's plug-in, not Adobe's. Delete from Photoshop's plug-in folder and all subfolders all copies of the "Nikon NEF plugin". Nikon automatically installs this plug-in in up to two places inside Photoshop's plug-in folder, and both must be deleted. Otherwise it overrides the Adobe plug-in. An alternative to the deletion is adding ~ in front of the Nikon plug-ins names.
Q: I installed the update. I can now open my raw files, but I still cannot see thumbnails in the file browser.
A: Purge the file browser cache for the problem folder. Tools > Cache > Purge cache for this folder.
Q: Is it better to resize my images in Camera Raw, or in Photoshop?
A: The resampling code is fairly similar to (but not exactly the same as) the "Bicubic Sharper" resampling in Photoshop CS and CS2. It does not make very much difference which stage you do the resampling in. The exception is non-square pixel cameras (Nikon D1x and Fuji S2 Pro), for which it is best to upsample one size step in Camera Raw if you need a larger image.
Q: What are raw images, and how do they differ from JPEG ones?
A: Read this whitepaper (1MB PDF) written by Bruce Fraser for a concise answer.

    You can check compatibility yourself:
    1.  Go to this page to see the different releases:  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/311515?tstart=0
    2.  Navigate into the download link for the appropriate version of Camera Raw.
    3.  Follow the link to the ReadMe (e.g., http://www.adobe.com/special/photoshop/camera_raw/Camera_Raw_4.6_ReadMe.pdf).
    4.  Look to see whether your camera is supported.
    5.  If your camera is NOT supported, you can use the free Adobe DNG converter to create .dng files that your Camera Raw will be able to open.
Photoshop CS6 is anticipated to be out in a few months, and Camera Raw is supposed to have a whole new approach, so a lot of us are excited about anticipating that.

  • Adobe Muse CC 2014 - Sizing/Layout for Mobile Devices

I have designed previous sites with Adobe Muse and have never had any issues designing or sizing for any of the three devices whether desktop, tablet, or  phone versions. However, due to the most recent updates I decided to design a site through Adobe Muse CC 2014 (www.movemoreheadforward). I went ahead and designed tablet and phone versions of the desktop site as well but unfortunately I ran into the problem below.
The first image is what the phone site comes up as and the second image is what I would like it to look like. I didn't touch the page width so I'm confused as to why the site comes up so small. Would this have anything to do with the new 100% page width option?
The same goes for the tablet version however I do not have images to give as an example at this time. Does anyone know why this issue may be happening and how to go about fixing it? Thanks!

You have an object to the right of your page. (blue block), that's what's making your page smaller.

  • Adobe Muse CC - Slideshow Fading Question

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to Adobe Muse
So I had this questions, I noticed that when you put a slideshow and you check on "Fade" in the Transition box, when the image is fading it always fades to white and then goes to the next image
Is it possible to have it "Fade To Black"? ( witch is also a quite awesome song by the way) or anyway, make the fading transition between images not white?

During the Fading transition, it is just the opacity of the images that are changing (reducing for one and increasing for the other) and there is no White content coming in during the transition here. You can check that by slowing down the Transition speed of the Slideshow to a few seconds. You cannot at the moment add any intermediate color between the image transition in a Muse Slideshow. You may want to add this as a feature request in the Ideas section of this form at http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas.

  • Adobe Flash crashes and other questions about Flash

There have been several instances of Adobe Flash crashes whether I am using Firefox, IE or Google Chrome browsers - and simply reloading the page corrects this BUT recurs again and again.
I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit in which the Flash program apparently comes embedded in the OS as a 32/64 bit hybrid. When I inspect the Flash version add-on in Firefox, and run an update check, Adobe reports, correctly, that my system is Windows 64bit , English, Firefox. Then, when I do the same in Windows Internet Explorer by checking the embedded version, I get a message that KB2999249 is available for download to correct Flash issues in IE. Since that install, Flash hasn't crashed in IE [yet].
So, my question is: How can I be certain that when Firefox reports that Flash is "up-to-date" that it is indeed a 64bit compatible version? Note that the Adobe download site only identifies one available version for Firefox, IE and Google - the current version being 15.0.0.152 file: NPSWF32_15_0_0_152.
Does the "32" part of the file name suggest that it is a 32bit application and, if so, where can I find NPSWF64_15_o_o_152 [if it exists]?
''edited the title of this thread to reflect the questions asked''

I now understand the version nuances between the browsers and thanks for the response. Now what, if anything, can I do to address the continuum of Flash crashes since I find it difficult to believe that I'm the only user experiencing this anomaly?

  • Adobe PDF Library DLE General Question

Has anyone here experience with the use of the Adobe PDF Library and/or Datalogics Enhancements (DLE) in a DOT.NET environment?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask questions here.
I will ask more specified questions if anybody knows somethings about.

    Hi,
Since upgrading from Windows 95 to Widows XP Home Edition 18 months ago I have had problems opening PDF files. Using Windows 95 I could open PDF files in emails or contained in Web Sites.
I have Adobe Reader 6 on my hard drive and have downloaded the latest reader.
The problem I have opening PDF files shows up several different ways:
    1. When I try to open an Acrobat Doc. on my hard drive I get a message insert Adobe Reader 6.0.1.disc which of course I do not have. If I then open my copy of Adobe Reader 6 and select file and find the same doc. on my hard drive it will open.
    2. If I try to open an email with an attached PDF file I cannot open it but if I save it to my hard drive I can open it as above.
    3. If I visit a web site that contains PDF files I cannot open them, all I get is a blank screen with a little box containing an x in the top L/H corner. This a particular problem as I am at present considering paying for/downloading some British Wills in PDF format and am unsure whether I will be able to save them to my hard drive and then open them OR whether I am wasting my money and will only get a blank screen.
When I open the Adobe 6 program on my hard drive I get a window showing available updates containing various updates including Adobe 7, when I select add Adobe 7 and click on update I get a message saying that updates will be loaded, etc, so I click O/K, I then get a message Download cannot be completed unable to access server.
    HELP please.

    Welcome to the forum,
Since you didn't get an answer after 2 days, this probably means that your question is puzzling users, not explained in detail? Can you give more details? Are you using normal question slides, and perhaps the Submit all functionality? Or is this happening in a second Quiz attempt? What is slide 8? Is it a content slide?
Question/score slide are much less controllable than normal slides.

  • Adobe CS6 ESD (download) Version Question

    Hello community
Many places like B&H for example offer a download version of Adobe CS6 istead of an install CD ROM.
    My question:
1.) if I'm right I have the possibility to install CS6 on 2 PC's (not using simultaniously). Will I have this possibility too
    with the download Version (ESD)?
2.) What if I'd buy a new Computer, could I reinstall the programm with the same activation code, as I believe I could
    withe the CD ROM
--> are there any disatvantanges withe the ESD Version?
I appreciate your help! Thank you!

  • Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 Questions

    Hi, there.
I'm new to this kind of programme. So, maybe I ask some strange questions.
    1. I bought my notebook with Adobe Reader 7.0 installed. A week ago I had to convert a PDF document into a JPEG one. So, I downloaded a free programme to do it. But the result had a watermark on it that brought me to uninstall that programme. Today I've installed Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0. Can I uninstall my Adobe Reader 7.0?
    2. I can't remember which printer the uninstalled free programme used. There are two printers now, i.e. Adobe PDF and PDF-File. Which one is used by Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 so that I can delete the other?
    3. My friend told me a month ago that there's an apart setup, i.e. a so-called PDF_Printer. He realized this when his mate explored the installation CD. Is this a case that I have to know?
    Thanks before for answering.
    Cheers.

    1. Yes but you "may" end up having to reinstall Acrobat. I believe they share some resources.
    2. Adobe PDF is installed with Acrobat
    3. Sounds like the PDF printer is already installed (see answer #2)

  • Adobe Creative Suite 4 install question.

    Hello,
I have installed only certain apps of my Adobe Creative Suite 4. The question is that if i look in the finder to the application folder there are all the folders of the application that i mark to install with color icons, but there are also folders of the applications that i DO NOT mark to install without color icons. I belive that those folders do not contain all the application because have a small size, but theiy are not empty. For what are those folders there? It is safe to remove them?
I will appreciate a lot any help or information that you could give me. Thanks for your time,
    Marcelo :)

    Hello,
It seems that this is a common issue with the installation of Adobe Creative Suite 4, i have read now the reade me file (i should read it first when i installed the apps) and there it said in common issues: "Protected Content for Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Encore, Soundbooth and OnLocation will be installed, even if those applications have been not been selected for installation. It will appear as though the applications have been installed: application folders will appear in the Start menu on Windows or in the Applications folder on Mac. However, upon attempting to launch one of these applications, an error message will appear saying "You can't open the application because it is not support on this architecture." (#BG063851) "
It does not said it we have to delete those folders or not, but since this is in the common issues section i belive this is a problem and that i should remove it. What do you think?
    Thanks,
    Marcelo :)
