Adobe Story - How do I delete misspelled names or changed names from my character list?

Hi,
Firstly you do not need to pre plan all your characters to be able to use a character list. You may just assign a blank list in the beginning and keep adding characters to it as you progress, a matter of single click from your script itself.
Secondly, sure you can make typos while you are writing but that doesn't mean that you are 'out of luck'. If you have made one, you just don't add that character to your list. Since its not in your list it will not bother you in smart types and you can always correct it as required.
Please give it a try once and let me know it you need more information on this.

ok so i logged into adobe story a couple of days ago and everything was fine, i log into today and everythings deleted and it says its the free version again. I have the creative cloud... when i try to look at the deleted scripts it says: WARNING: Failed to get deleted items-Your request cannot be completed because you have lost the internet connection. Nope still nothing going incognito, or doing it through different browsers. I guess the other thing is a an online picture editing program told me I needed to update my flash, so I tried to install it several time but am not sure if it actually did. Now some video players (that had previously worked) command me that I need a newer version of Flash. What happened?

Trouble with workflow of Adobe Story

I am a screenwriter and recently I discovered Adobe Story. I found the program to have a lot of really cool features that could aid my process as a writer. The trouble is that with a screenwriting program you really have to be able to just write and to lose yourself in your script in order to really produce a great piece.
The problem is that I am used to using other programs in which I only need to ht "TAB" to switch from action description to character dialog. With Adobe Story, the first time I hit TAB it allowed me to write a characters dialog, but then however after the next paragraph of action I tried to hit tab and continue the dialop. The cursor moved to the center of the page and I typed in the characters name and then hit "Enter" which should take me to the next line and allow me to write the line of dialog. Unfortunately when I hit "ENTER" nothing happened. It was like my keyboard was no longer recognized. But I am on a laptop so that could not be the case.
After writing all of the character bios, and outlines I was really excited to actually write the script. But unfortunately it looks like I will have to go back to my only screenwriting program as it is more realiable.
When writing you have so many other potential distractions, the program should not be one of them. You should be able to just sit down and go and not have to worry about anything except where your story is going. Come on Adobe I know you guys can do better than this.

The enter key not working is clearly not acceptable behavior. and I don’t think all users are encountering this problem and living with it.
Does this happen every time for you? Can you tell us a bit more about your specs? Were you using the desktop application or the web based app in the browser?

The /Developer directory contains the compiler(s) and various tools and libraries.
Does your user account name really contain a single quote? If so, it looks like the quote is getting eaten by one of the build scripts, which is resulting in a file path that doesn't exist.

CS5.5 Unattended Installation, Problem with Adobe Story Install

I am working on a silent installation package of Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection. I used AAMEE to create a silent setup with settings etc.
This works fine except for one of the extra exceptions. I have troubles installing Adobe Story silently. Here is the the installer logfile

Uninstall each and every bit of Adobe software on the system, including Adobe Reader etc., then try again. You may also need to delete the caps.db in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps.

How to run Adobe Story in Firefox

Hello,
I'm a purchaser of Creative Suite 5.5, which installed Adobe Story at the time. I also run Chrome as my browser.
I'm trying it out for the first time but find that I cannot use Backspace or Delete keys.
Searching through this forum yielded the advice that I use Firefox, instead of Chrome.
However, I'm uncertain how to run Story in Firefox. I don't run Story from a browser... I just choose it from my Start menu and it launches Adobe Story.exe.
Please don't tell me I have to change my default browser. It would be inconvenient to do so for one application.

AdobeStory.exe is actually the desktop application of Story. But, you can also use Story on a browser. Just launch the browser (firefox in this case) and go to story.adobe.com. You don't need to change your default browser.

Adobe story is not loading. Once the program has accepted my password, it get stuck on the "loading" page.

Help! I cannot access anything in adobe story. It is perpetually stuck on the loading page. I tried deleting my history and using a private browser page. Nothing is working.

This may be an issue with the Flash Player or the Browser. First try updating to the latest version of flash player. You can install the latest one from here: Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions<https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer>. Then try to login again. ?Can you also try a different Browser to see if that is the issue?

Adobe Story Will Not Update

Hello.
I have been trying for the longest time to get back on to Adobe Story to continue working on a screenplay I am writing. But all I ever get when clicking on it is that it insists on updating. After it does that, Adobe Air says it's preparing to start loading then stops and a warning pops up, saying "Sorry, and error has occured. This application cannot be installed because this installer has been misconfigured. Please contact the application author for assistance."
When I click the CLOSE button, the whole thing starts over from the beginning: Adobe Story installs an update, Adobe Air pops up and loads something, then stops and the warning shows up. Then it repeats AGAIN. I once spent several hours on this with no change. What is this?
I noticed in the discussion forums that others are having problems on this. I don't want to delete Adobe Story because I do have a screenplay already in the works and am afraid it will all get deleted. This is not an option for me, that cannot happen. I also do not have the foggiest idea when I downloaded Story in the first place, so I can't be sure if it was before all the new updates or not. Although I thought it was, maybe it wasn't.
I need help on this severly. Please, please, please help me not lose my work. How do I get passed this?

Thank you but, since I did that when I try to sign in it says "ERROR: Sorry, your Story free subscription does not allow access to this application. Please upgrade your subscription." Then my options below are cancel or upgrade now. I don't want to upgrade. And I still don't know if my script is still there or not. A lot of times I've had to work on it offline. Even though I saved it, has it been deleted? Please tell me it hasn't been. I log on to my account on the adobe sight and all my work is gone. Same with the app version.
What do I do now? I've never had this problem before and it's a little frustrating, off putting and scary. (Scary as in I've lost all my work.)

CS Live Icon not updating due to Adobe Story

This is terribly annoying. The icon in Photoshop will not update, even though I have already signed in and used Adobe Story, despite it being completely useless to me in my line of work. What do I have to do to get it to recognize I have seen the service and unflag? Or is it possible to remove items from that list or something?

I think you are talking about the 'blue start icon' that is appearing infront of the 'adobe story' link.
If that's the case than it's a bug which is persent in CS5 and has been fixed in 'soon to be released update'
for now there is a workaround:
       1) close photoshop and kill 'cs5servicemanager' process from activity monitor
       2) now delete the cache folder (location of cache folder shown below, click to enlarge)
    3) start photoshop and verify

Local Copy of Adobe Story To Start

When executing I get a message box that says "Adobe Story Updating An unexpected error occurred. Error# {0}" under the Story window. No functionality is enabled on the Story window.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, including deleting the AIR directory in AppData/Roaming before installation.

Is there a log file that would have more information? I have Master Collection and it didn't install Story or its version was where the problem started. Since I uninstalled and reinstalled that info is lost.
AIR and Story shouldn't have a problem with a security product. In my case, just Avast.
Is there a directory or registry entries that Story keeps info that may be corrupt?

Cannot access Adobe Story Free through any browser.

Hi,
I cannot log in to Adobe Story Free using any web browser on my home PC workstation, however I have no problems logging in to Adobe Story Free using any web browser on my work PC laptop or any other Mac or PC.
So I suspect it's not an Adobe CC account issue, but rather a local issue with corrupted settings on my home PC...? I have tried deleting browsing history, cache, cookies etc. but problem still remains in all web browsers.
I need urgent help to fix this please.

I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Adobe Flash player...didn't fix the problem.

...I can confirm that Flash Player Version 17.0.0.134 is installed successfully on Firefox (V37.0.1) IE (v10.0.9200.17267) & Chrome (v 41.0.2272.118 m)
...I can also confirm that "Adobe Flash" is enabled on story.adobe.com (as shown above)
However I still can't get into Adobe Story.
I can see this screen:

Then I click on Sign In which takes me to this page:

Then when I enter my Adobe CC username and password, the page just hangs (blank white) in Firefox & Chrome, & an error message in IE
Edit: Here's something new. I can log into Adobe Story Free on Firefox only (using my work Adobe ID = [email protected]) but not using my home Adobe ID. Is there an account issue maybe after all? Still doesn't explain not working in Chrome or IE though.

Adobe Story memory leak

I am running Adobe Story online in Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, using the application on my desktop. In the Task Manager, the Memory for Adobe Story constantly increases. At the moment it's 160,000 KB and climbing. If I leave it open for any length of time, all functions in it slow way down, apparently the result of what appears to be a memory leak.

Having said that, this is not a problem I see on any of the four Windows machines I work on. And it's not a problem commonly reported here. So my inclination is to suggest that something may be funky with your install.

Adobe Story plus desktop app not login in. Please help! I have tried everything!

Hi, I have creative cloud cs6 and I can't use my Adobe story plus desktop app.
Any time I try to enter, the app ask me first about my creative cloud email and password and then it ask me a password to the desktop app and to repeat this password too. Then nothing happens and it returns to step 1 with the window of LOG IN and MORE INFORMATION Buttons. I have try to unistall and installl, uninstall adobe air too, also to delete and renabe the folder Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/com.adobe.story.....

Ok it has been fixed I thing connecting just by cable instead of wifi. Crazy but real. But this was not happening with windows partition in the same macbook.

How do I print out the Characters and the Pitch when the File menu is EMPTY in Adobe Story CC plus?

In Adobe Story CC plus I am unable to print anything since the File menu is empty (doesn't pull down). I am using the latest version on an iMac 27" i7 computer.

Hi!
To print out an email, first click on the email from the inbox. Now that you're looking at the email viewing pane, you can click "More" > "Print" (as seen in first image below). It will print the email.
To find the sender's address, click on the sender's name (as seen in second image). A menu containing the address and other options to take will pop up. Mousing over the sender's name also shows the address.
