I've seen in some discussions that Adobe CS5 programs arent working either and that a Java update will make them work. Anyone know if this will do the same for Adobe Flash Player?

Hardware acceleration with Flash Player 10

I came across an article on potential hardware acceleration enhancements in Flash Player 10:

But I was wondering how to take advantage of this? Here is the snippet from the article which seemed most promising, however when I set the wmode in the html template, I can't see any changes to my application so I'm guessing there must be more to it:

is flash player use registry to do that by saving values and changing them each enable/disable

It's causing IE to crash when people watch training videos in flash off Youtube via the terminal server... which as a TS mind you does not have particularly adept video hardware.

I don't have info on disabling hardware acceleration in Flash player. However, if you are running Flash video in a terminal server environment, especially to remote users/locations, I strongly suggest that you look at Ericom Blaze, a software product that accelerates and compresses standard Microsoft RDP, so it speeds RDP while conserving bandwidth. How do I disable the hardware acceleration in Flash player on a Windows XP machine remotely?
I have a few hundred computers running Adobe Flash Player.
The operation system is Windows XP.
They are Compaq 6005 desktop PC’s, with an inbuilt ATI radeon HD 4200 video card.
We have a persistent issue where viewing a flash video (e.g. something on youtube) causes the video card driver to crash. You are left with no video signal to the monitor. Audio continues and the computer still responds to commands. This only happens when watching flash video.
We have tried:
Updating flash plugin (numerous versions)
Updating the video card drivers (we have tried the last three video card driver versions, including the HP drivers and ATI drivers)
Updating the browsers (this problem happens with IE8/9 and Firefox10/11/12)
There seems to be two ways to work round this issue. One is to disable the video acceleration in the ‘troubleshoot’ section in the advanced part of the display settings area in windows. The other way is to start a flash video, right click, go to ‘settings’ and untick the box marked ‘Enable Hardware Acceleration’.
Doing either of these things allows the user to view flash videos with no apparent issues.
Is there a way to disable the hardware acceleration in Flash without visiting the PC? Perhaps an undocumented option in the mms.cfg file? I understand that you can use an option to skip the video card check, and so force hardware acceleration on, can you do the opposite?

Disable update notification for Flash Player 15.x and newer

Dear all
We run a Citrix Environment (on Windows 2008 R2) and we have our monthly update window. Users complain that they get update notifications for Flash Player when a new version is available but they cannot install the update since they have no permissions to install or update any software on our locked down Citrix environment.We tried already all availabe guides regarding "disable update notification for Flash Player" but no guide seems to work with the latest Version 15.x.
Which registry key's oder files do we have to modify with what values to finally disable update notifications for Flash Player.

Disable hardware acceleration programmatically

Hello,
Nowadays number of devices supporting flash is quite huge, however some of those devices do not support right clicking.
End user experience is also getting very important, so I want to understand if it's possible to disable flash hardware acceleration programmatically? (using actionscript, external SWF or executing Cthulhu summon procedure
I want to be able to disable hardware acceleration with simple checkbox. I googled this a lot, however I couldn't find any solution for this.

i've tried all possible wmode options, however they don't really affect the video playback problem I am facing. the only way to fix it is to disable hardware acceleration in flash settings.
to be frank, I find current situation quite irritating - every service providing video experience to the users via flash is having special page containing advices for HW acceleration disabling:

and the only way to disable hardware acceleration is to go to the flash settings and disable it manually.
I wonder if there is anyone from Adobe reading those topics? For the last two weeks I googled a lot this topic, people like me are trying to provide best user experience, but they can't. I found similar to this topic even on those forums. The author also had to go for the manual 'resolution' approach. Come on guys, this is 2014, there should be more smarter ways doing this like providing actionscript methods for changing this option.

Disabling hardware acceleration

I can't seem to be able to do it. I right-click in a Flash game, click Settings, but I CANNOT uncheck the box. This happens in IE11 and Firefox. I CAN do it in Chrome.
I want to try a trick I heard about when playing certain Very Flash-heavy games like Farmville 2. Others have said to disable hardware acceleration, but Flash won't allow me to do it in certain browsers.

Flash Player refuses to make "display" tab available in settings; cannot disable hardware acceleration.

Windows 8.1 64-bit laptop. Multiple Flash Player issues. (1) Sites say I do not have Flash Player installed but Adobe download page says I do. (2) Right clicking the test video, or any other video, give access to "settings" but there is no display tab. I have been going down a fun path getting my 1st Generation Apple TV (160 GB HD) to run Hulu natively (without PlayOn restreaming). After fun times getting Firefox and Flash Player working, I blasted through setting up Hulu Widget to keep the video size small (Apple TV in 480p defaults to an 800x600 res).   Things look pretty good. I maxed out buffering/cache for all Hulu related sites within Global settings, this produced nice improvements. I found a GreaseMonkey script that forces the Flash Player to always render Low Quality video. This helps immensely at stopping stuttering with little trade off in quality. My last piece to try to tweak video playback (aside from monkeying around with the OS X kernel) is the disable Hardware Acceleration.
BUT, I am having a major problem with mouse support or something. Everytime I bring up the Display settings via a Right Click, I cannot uncheck "Enable hardware acceleration". Surprisingly clicking it 500 times still does not make it uncheck.
I have searched high and low but have not found a clearcut way to disable it via script or other non-interactive means.
I wonder if there might be a javascript that could be plugged into GreaseMonkey to accomplish the end goal.   This blog and Adobe document refer to the wmode parameter and how to use it to disable HA.

We are under the Snow & Ice warning, getting it now. Hope I don't lose power! If so, I'll be offline for sure.

Color management for flash player with hardware acceleration

I have tested the color management for flash player 10.2 with and without hardware acceleration (GPU) on different PCs with different video cards.
Videos that are played via flash without hardware acceleration on PC have proper color as designed in After Effects.
When I switch on hardware acceleration, the color shifts, for example green becomes lighter, although grey values are OK. I have tried this by writing a small Flash programme for playing a movie; I wrote two programmes one with color management as described in the article "Color correction in Flash Player" http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/quickstart/color_correction_as3.html and another one without color management. In both cases I got the same color shift when hardware acceleration was turned on. From the result I concluded that color management does not work when hardware acceleration is on.
My question is: are there any plans to have color management for flash player with hardware acceleration (GPU) in the near future?
We need to play complex high definition movies streaming through a high speed local area network that need hardware acceleration to avoid stuttering.

Adobe Flash crashed so I disabled hardware acceleration

I guess so many people are aware of that problem.
When exiting a fullscreen video, flash player crashed. So I looked at the solution in this site. It told me to disable hardware acceleration. If it worked I am supposed to upgrade my graphic drivers but it is already up-to-date. I don't want to keep my hardware acceleration disabled but when I enable it I still have some problem. Help me!

There are many problems with Flash player 11.3 right now. Unfortunately, at this point your best solution is to leave hardware acceleration disabled until Flash 11.4 comes out, then update and try again. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer.

eg. when I right slick on a player, the setting menu opens up, but the "Enable hardware" check box does not respond to a mouse click and remains on I also tried tabbing around the settings menu and using the return key to select/ de-select but that doesn't work either

What to do now that Adobe ended support for Flash Player 10.3?

Adobe ended support for Flash Player 10.3 on July 9. Downloads are no longer available anywhere that I can find. Adobe says 11.7 is now the "extended release" version. Since 10.3 has been the only solution when the latest Flash Player version won't work with Firefox, what do we do now? I have tested every Flash Player release after 10.3, and each starts crashing repeatedly after 24 hours. Each time, retreat to 10.3 was the only solution. The other suggestions in Firefox help don't work. I uninstalled 10.3 a few days ago to test 11.8 - the latest. It doesn't work with Firefox. Now I could only install 11.7. It hasn't failed yet, but it probably will tomorrow.
If Flash Player 11.8 and 11.7 don't work, and 10.3 is unavailable, what can we do?

Immidiate crash of Flash, unable to disable hardware acceleration. Solved!

Flash video/content crashes instantly, so it makes it impossible to right-click it and enter the settings to disable hardware acceleration. This issue wasn't solved for over 2 years in other forum posts, but I finally did it. You have to temporarily DISABLE all your recording and playback devices in the windows' sound menu. this will let you play flash content (it did help me), just enough to disable hardware accelertion. I am suprized Mozilla survived despite being unable to debug their own software - no respect to customers ad their time.

Flash is developed by Adobe, not Mozilla. Though the good news is that Firefox is creating their own flash player that should be in a near-future version of Firefox.

I just noticed something. The link that I pasted, to your
post, does not work either. I noticed why, however, and it seems to
be why the link in your original page does not work, and why the
link in my post that goes to your post does not work.
It seems to be that if a link has a period after it (i.e., if
it is at the end of a sentence), the period is incorrectly included
in the "real" link. Somehow, whatever mechanism that processes the
post has a mini bug in it.
