Adobe support is very ineffective! BTW, if you tell someone you will be with them in 12-17 minutes, please answer the call before the client has been holding 39 minutes.

I know. I just needed to vent my frustration and, since noone from Abobe will answer, I vented it here. Sorry!

    Is it just me or does Creative's customer support suck?
    I call and the first thing they do is try to sell me extended protection on my Zen Micro!
    The do not even ask what my problem is!
    They ask for my email, address, phone at least 3 times!
    Then they only listen to the "Easy" problem I have, not to my entire problem.
    My unit is less than month old, and the headphone jack stops working, and then my computer stops recognizing the unit!
    I wish I had read these forums before I ordered my MP3, I probably would have pourchased a different brand.

    My experience with Creative Support hasn't been a good advert for the company either.
    The player whilst rather a good choice has proved to be the wrong buy as I can't get it repaired for love nor money and I'm only two months into my Warranty! Oh yes you can have a smaller model sir, or perhaps you'd like to have last year's model, but no sir you can't have your model repaired! I've been told that my issue will be with the hard disk and basically that will cost me the price of a reconditioned lesser alternati've. This is despite my evidence that the dri've is still functioning. I think that all my unit needs is a new case and front panel controller, but alas Customer Support will not be drawn into providing what you would like to think of as customer service! Beware! No Support for Zen Touch 40Gb, as the European support department do not have any spares for the 40Gb unit and they have no intention of attempting a repair.
    My best option might be to claim on my house insurance and go buy an Ipod. I bought Creative because it saved me a few quid and offered superior battery life and more Gb per quid. But with no support now I wish I'd followed the herd!

  • Adobe still not Smartphone friendly - how is this possible

    As a user of Adobe Business Catalyst it would be more useful if the administration area was smartphone friendly. However it is impossible access the email area as the screen is distorted, and clearly the site has not been designed for smartphone access.
    Now that 50% of retail business is conducted online and much of this on smartphone, business administrators need to have the same access to their business. Can Adobe make administration of catalyst more smartphone friendly, by creating a mobile site?
    Will Adobe look at designing an app specifically for BC?

    I can confirm that this item is found on our road-map, though I can't offer a clear date at this point. Nevertheless, when having finalized development in this area, we will issue demos on how this can be achieved through server-to-server technology. We really want our partners to have the tools necessary for delivering better next-gen experiences to the end-customers and we're actively working on this, so, hopefully, streamlining mobile access of admin functionality combined with the recently added Liquid technology should allow them to do just that.

  • Adobe Support:  Please Read, New Flash Not Working

    Adobe, please read this.  My Flash player is not working and I would be happy to help you troubleshoot.  I have a completely fresh install of Windows XP on a Dell Laptop and the new Flash Player is not working.  I am in the tech field so I will understand most of your requests...Here is my situation.
    The problem began just after Christmas when I returned home from holidays and tried to watch videos, which I do all the time for both work and pleasure.  Videos would not play in a watchable manner...I could hear audio but video was completely choppy and unwatchable.  I researched and researched and implemented many suggestions but to no avail.  Thus, I COMPLETELY rebuilt my system from scratch.  (I needed to do this anyway since it had been 2 years.)
    After the rebuild, on a completely fresh install of XP on a Dell D410 laptop (that was playing all videos just fine a week ago), I installed Firefox, went to youtube which prompted me to install Flash, and then had the exact same problem that I had before the complete reinstall of everything.  There are scarecely any variables here other than the Dell Laptop, a standard Windows XP SP2 build, Firefox and Flash.
    I think I have narrowed this problem down to two things.  One, the new version of Flash.
    It's choppy on youtube AND it's choppy on megavideo, the other place where I watch a lot videos.
    I then tried on IE, which also prompted for the new version of flash, and also had the same problem.  Chrome--same result.
    However, this problem cannot be a universal problem with Flash otherwise nobody would be able to watch any videos onlline.
    This leads me to the second problem, which a complete hypothesis but it seems to be the only thing left:  my Dell laptop.
    I have noticed that some of the other folks with reported problems, who mention their system type, are also using Dell laptops.  Mine is an older d410, but as I said, it was running every video just fine up until a week or so ago when all of the sites forced me to install the new version of Flash.  Most Dell laptops use a common video driver set and this is what is leading me to this conclusion.
    So, could this be a problem with the new Flash and Dell laptops (or systems that use a common video driver)? As a reference point, my "display adapter" says "Mobile Intel (R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family".
    Viewing videos is part of my job (and entertainment) and I cannot do anything right now.
    Someone out there...please hlep.  Adobe, where are you?  We are here providing you with all of the information that you need....

    However, Adobe, I need your help.
    In summary, I have a fresh build of Windows XP, SP2 on a Dell D410 and the Flash player does not work.  This affects at least 50% of the sites I visit.  Right now, I simply have the Flash Player uninstalled and can surf the net rapidly.  Once I install it, I am back to a crawl and still cannot affectively watch any videos (they all have extreme video choppiness but the audio is fine).
    I need your help, Adobe.  Everything was working fine until 2 weeks ago.  It is unfair of you to distribute a product like this, force everyone to use it, and have it not work for some of us.
    So far, this free product has cost me hundreds of dollars as a good part of my job is reviewing videos.
    Many have suggested that I buy a new computer to fix the problem.
    Is this really necessary?
    Adobe, I am a man in need...please help me...

  • Customer Support not helpful.  Cancellation even though card is updated!

    I chatted with customer support 3 different times and updated my credit card info on file twice (which is ridiculous).    Somehow Adobe was using my mailing address (on a whole other section of my profile account) for the billing on the credit card even though the billing address was right there next to the credit card number, etc.   Not my fault the payments didn't go through.  The customer support team appeared to have a helpful attitude, which is great.  But then ultimately did not help me out.  They said they'd have someone call me in the next 3 hours and no one did.
    I had all my info right, yet Adobe was not charging my card to keep it from canceling.
    My current Cloud membership is cancelled.  This is not my fault.   This is complete *********!  I've got clients to serve today and I'm already behind.
    Chat is no longer helpful and where the hell is a phone number to talk to someone, and on top of that, an american.
    I expect some royal treatment now.   The facts are I addressed this at 3 separate times with pleeeenty of time before the cancellation would take effect.  I updated my credit card not once, but unnecessarily twice (as asked).  I asked Adobe to charge my card right now and they didn't.
    I called my bank and they showed the charge attempts:
    May 3 - tried $54.11 and it declined because of the wrong zip code.   (Not my fault.)
    May 3 - tried $1 and that approved because used the correct address and zip code.  (Not my fault.)
    May 4 - tried once (unknown $ amount) and it was declined because incorrect zip code    (Not my fault.)
    May 4 -  tried $54.11  declined because incorrect zip code    (Not my fault.)
    May 5 - Tried $1 - approved  (because of correct address and zip code)     Yay!!  You did it!   But why not charge me again for the full amount so my account doesn't get cancelled.   Come on!
    Please do what's right, Adobe.   You know how to contact me.

    Yes, I'd like further assistance.  I had asked your team to help me update
    my credit card information after your online system was not actually
    working correctly.   I had updated my billing information twice, as asked
    by customer service.  I called my bank to see what was going on.  They
    found the 4 or 5 charges that I listed in the discussion.   I didn't want
    my subscription to cancel because I have pressing needs to fulfill things
    for clients.  I had to start a new subscription (even though your team said
    that my card should be updated and working -- this was said to me in a few
    phone calls several days before cancellation), which NEVER should have
    happened in the first place… because it wasn't my fault that my card was
    not being charged.
    I want adobe to give me 6 months free of subscription because I should
    NEVER have had interruption in my service.   I nearly got screwed and
    potentially could have lost clients, my job… and thus unable to pay rent
    and feed my family.
    Please do the right thing.

    I'm a High School Art Teacher. I teach Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premier Pro. A year ago, my  family decided that I needed to upgrade from a PC to a Mac.  Unfortunatley, I was in no position to buy all new software - even with the educational discount. I've been living off whatever I can get done during my free periods in school. But recently, I needed to develop some photos for my Drawing and Painting class ( for self-portraits - needed to work with the contrast, so I payed out of pocket for the month subscription. I didn't realize that it was an auto-renewal until I got charged again ($60 ) for the month of March. I never selected auto renewal....it is evidently selected automatically for you - go figure. Of course I raced to unsubscribe, but ....no refund. I'm stuck paying $120 now for a job that took me 4 days. When I called for help, I waited a half of an hour for a call back, only to be accidently cut off on their end, and no one called me back. I'm sorry, but the chats are absolutely worthless. I needed some help with the original download as well - no help at all!!!! I mean, I imagine 14 year-olds on the other end .  I came from a family that owns a sizeable graphic design company and uses Adobe products - Adobe has been the power house for a long time. But lousy customer service? I expected more. Hey folks, I sell your products every day to my students. I tell them you're the industry standard and they should be getting used to it now. I send them off to some of the best design schools in the North East. I don't know if I'll recommend it so highly in the future.

    I will respectfully disagree here.
    Now, it would be great if Adobe could hire experts in all of its products, and route each call to the appropriate expert. However, I just do not see that happening, at least any time soon. This problem can be greatly exacerbated, if a user has a full suite, and is having problems with more than one program in it.
    Now, I have been using, and participating in the Adobe forums, from the days, when they were ONLY available via NNTP - before what we know as the Internet, was even born, I also did use ARPANET way, way back before that. Whether it is for an Adobe product, or another, I have found that the user-to-user (that term is now absent) forums offer better support. Almost everyone there does actually use the product(s).
    It used to be much more simple, back when companies, like WordPerfect made only one product. You always got an expert on the phone. However, even back then, if one needed to "write a printer driver," the call might get transferred to the desk across the office, to the "Printer Wizard."
    Personally, I am a very big fan of user forums. The only thing that I would possibly have placed above them, would have been a well-written, printed manual, but that is a thing of the past.
    As I have mentioned in some other threads on T/S, and the product forums, most, that I frequent, have the addition of an Adobe presence, which is so greatly appreciated, as those employee contributors know what's under the hood, and when we, mere users, run out of ideas, they can often step in - then the OP, plus many of us, learn something new.
    Imagine if Adobe were to relocate Chris Cox, and relegate him to answering the phone for simple user calls?
    I want him busy in development, and then, if he has any spare time, helping out in the PS forum.
    I understand where you are coming from, but just disagree. That, however, does not mean that Adobe could not do a better job.

    You may be mixing up two entirely different Adobe products.
    1. Adobe Flash Player. Needed to view web pages designed with Flash. Not needed to view PDF files. Not available for Android (not just Sony).
    2. Adobe Reader. Reads PDF files. However, the Android can also read most PDF files without needing Adobe Reader.

    Hi, How do I export HDR photos made on a macpro with photoshop cs5 onto a flashdrive so they can be imported correctly into a windows machine that doesn't have photoshop installed on it?  Already exported to a HP flashdrive but they do not even show up on a windows machine. Need that capabillity since this is for commercial printing.  My wife's mac laptop only shows 3/4 of the picture the rest is grayed out.  Adobe support claims it is a Apple problem.  Love the finger pointing and hold me blameless atitude on their part.  Told them creating a picture should be like gas that can be used in anybody's car, just not their Adobe equipped ferrari.  Do I need to convert the file struture so it can be read by the window machine? How would I do that ?  Any comments appreciated. Doug

    I certainly wouldn't expect to read native PS CS5 files with all features intact and supported on a machine that doesn't have CS5 installed. Try saving the files as flattened (no layers) TIFFs before moving them to the flash drive and trying to open them on the Windoze box.

    I have a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium PC. I recently had to reinstall my PC. I'm trying to install my Adobe Products like Flash Professional CS5 and Photoshop CS5, but it keeps coming up with the message "Failed to initialize. File not found. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." I keep looking around at different sites, but they seem so difficult and so much information which leaves me so confused. I have no idea how or why this has happened, and due to my autism it leaves me very panicky.

    start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

    first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
    to find OOBE:
    64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
    if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
    if you're using a dvd to install:
    copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.

    You won't be able to install your original Acrobat 7 at all, or use your original serial number. The server which used to allow this was switched off.
    But assuming you have a compatible system, like Mac OS 5 or Windows XP, licensed users of Acrobat 7 can download a replacement and get a replacement serial number.

  • Adobe Experts - Elements 64bit scanning not possible and no Adobe support

    I have Windows 8.1 64bit and can scan OK with Twain and WIA into Power Pdf. I also have a trial version of Paintshop Pro 32bit which scans fine on this operating system with the same drivers. The same scanner also works fine with Photoshop 7 on XP with Twain.
    With my recently acquired Elements 13 it will not recognise the my WIA driver and I have discovered that Twain is not supported on 64bit, but is on 32 bit. I tried downloading the 32bit version but (unlike Paintshop 32bit) it will not install on 64bit Windows. Ricoh say that the problem is not with their drivers, and I have checked that I do have the latest versions downloaded and installed. So, clearly my Ricoh Drivers and scanner work OK, but simply not with Elements.
    I contacted Adobe support and they said, "Please check on forums.adobe.com and post a thread , adobe experts ..... we are not trained on elements -twain driver issues ... " Hardly a very helpful response I thought.
    So, has anybody got any ideas how to make my scanner work with Elements? And If not (as I suspect) can anyone suggest a version of Photoshop which will work with Windows8.1 and Twain without costing an arm and a leg?

    Unfortunately as XP no longer has support, and owing to a networking sharing problem that Microsoft cannot fix we are now unable to share files etc other than copying to a SD card and transferring which is far too slow. As a result we have stopped using the XP computer and Photoshop 7. Yes, we can scan the images with another program, but with literally hundreds to scan, of differing physical sizes, some black and white, some old newspaper articles, etc.etc.etc...  edit and place into a document, it is vastly more efficient for us to physically find the next relevant image scan it, correct, save and insert into the document just as we have always done in the past with XP and Photoshop 7.
    Had I realised that Elements did not support scanning I would not have bought it. I see only two options ....
    1     Would Photoshop 7 work on Windows 8.1 and if so is there somewhere that I can download Photoshop 7 disable the account with XP and re-register it on Windows 8.1?
    2     If Photoshop 7 is not an option on 8.1, which version of Photoshop could I buy that will work using my existing Twain driver?
