Adobe to kobo

When trying to download books from the library , I'm told I need adobe, which I now have, but it want to download to kobo reader not my iPad, how do I do this?

This forum is for the Reader program to read PDFs on an iPad or iPhone. It has nothing to do with the Kobo program. Go to the Kobo website for technical support. Sorry.

I am able to download files from my councel library but I can not open or do anything with them and above is the fault message I receive. Please can anybody advise what can be done I have installed the Adobe digital reader and my computer is Apple iMac with Lion as operation system and Safari as browser.
I have now spend 3 days and still I can not get ybooks in my KOBO reader.
Please what can somebody advise. The KOBO reader is purchased from Whitcouls in September and has 100 books loaded.I am able to see the books loaded in the memory of the Kobo on my computer.! but not add anything!
On an other iMac with SL from a friend I could get the downloaded files from the councel  library in a KOBO touch. Why do I have all these problems with my own iMac and can not do anything else than looking which books are in the library of this Kobo.
I also have a program called calibre and that can also not handle the downloaded files from the councel library!
I also have a Windows 7 computer together with Window Explorer and calibre the whole procedure works fine.
My own conclusion now is I can get this ebooks stuff managed with Window7 and on another Apple with SL installed.
Why do I have the problems with Lion on my own computer

No problems anymore I found the head of our library got the Adobe program working. No other program will work with our library.I am very happy now

  • Error e_lic_already_fullfilled_by_another_user. when I try to download to adobe. Kobo already reset licence. now what?

How do i fix this problem?

I have just encountered the same problem and all the same frustrations as karliekate, except that I haven't got a new eReader.  I just use my PC, so I don't know what might have caused this.  The Adobe Help (!!) pages say to contact the eBook provide (the library) whose site says contact Adobe, although it should be well known by now that software producers like Adobe, Apple, Microsoft and many others are completely indifferent to their customers' problems.

  • Is the Adobe ID (email) case-sensitive?

I recently borrowed a book from my library, downloaded it with Adobe Digital Editions (and was able to open it on the PC) and transferred it to my (Adobe authorized) Kobo Mini reader. Unfortunately the reader refused to open the book because “it is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID”. I reset the reader, signed in with my Kobo account, authorized it again with Adobe Digital Editions, but got the same error.
I use one and the same email address as my account ID for Adobe and Kobo but noticed that the one for Kobo is spelled with lowercase letters while the one for Adobe has its first letter capitalized. Is this a problem?
I tried changing my Adobe ID to lowercase on the Abobe's website but got error “That Adobe ID is not available. Please try another address.”
This is the first DRM book I am trying to access on my Kobo.
    Thank you.

I don't think that the Kobo account is relevant at all.
Also, email address capitalization is usually ignored; though maybe there is some bit of ADE  (Adobe Digital Editions) or the Kobo that does not ignore it.
When you say my (Adobe authorized) Kobo Mini reader I assume you mean that you authorized it using 'Authorize Device' from ADE?
It might be worth trying ADE1.7.2, though I am not at all sure it will help.
ADE 2.0 has some peculiar bugs: for example it won't work at all with most Sony eReaders for reading library books.
Yours is clearly a little better than that, in that it works enough to get the book to the eReader, which is why I am a little pessimistic.
However, using 1.7.2 has proved a success for many different issues with 2.0 on this forum, so worth a go.
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

  • KOBO device - how do I remove the email address associated to my authorization when using ADE?

I have a KOBO aura. I changed service providers and the device uses Adobe Digital Editions to download books.
I want to upload some new books but the email associated to the notifications is the old email address and when I want to de-authorize that email address I am prompted for a password that I no longer remember.
Short of totally deleting my profile and starting from scratch, and losing what I have loaded on the device, is there any way to make this happen to just insert a new email?
Help - since no one seems to have a contact phone number anywhere [either at Adobe or KOBO] and everything is done by users helping users.

Have you tried Settings > iTunes and App Store, touched the Apple ID, logged out, and logged in with the Apple ID associated with the Apps that you wish to update?

I tried to authorize my Computer and eBookreader with a new Adobe-ID, but it says I've done used this ID too often, even though it was brandnew! Can't copy my just-purchased eBook because "Copying is not allowed".
I hold my thumbs for you that Adobe solves this Problem fast enough. Other ways I'll sell my eBookreader and buy the Kindle-Reader from Amazon and say GOOD BYE to Adobe!

  • Adobe could transfer books to Kobo on old HP laptop but on new Mac I get this error message: CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED - No permission to copy book.

I have the same version of Adobe Digital Editions, the only difference is for Mac or PC. This afternoon I signed out epub books from my local library and could transfer them from Adobe Digital editions on my dying dinosaur laptop, but when I tried to do it from my new Mac, I got the error message. My Kobo is authorized on both machines. What do I do?

I have an older version of Adobe Digital Editions (around 3 years old) and was very happy with it.
Then I had problems with my Kobo Reader and asked a friend who works in IT to assist. She could not fix the Kobo but she messed up my Addobe. She downloaded version three and I have an account and a password - was not able to transfer my books from my reader to version three (and I don't like the lay-out - I would prefer to stay with the old version as I also loose all my download date info..)
But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.
can you please help me - going on vacation in three days and cannot go without books.

Please authorize ADE 3 with same credentials that you used with older version of ADE

  • I have a Kobo N416  E-Reader. It is no longer supported by Kobo and is outdated. I was told that I can use Adobe Digital Editions Desktop App to download book to this Kobo N416 E-Reader . How do I do this ? Thanks

Question;  How do I download Ebooks to my Kobo N416 e-reader using Adobe Digital Editions App ? I have already tried to get help from Kobo Techs but they say the Kobo N416 E-Reader is no longer supported by Kobo and is outdated. Kobo told me to use Adobe Digital Editions to download the books I bought on Kobo to my Kobo N416 E-Reader. I have already contacted Adobe Digital Editions for help but they could not help me and told me to go to Adobe Forums.

I didnt't say that our business is using Linux Desktops. I wrote, our main clientele is. And what our customers do like to use is something we cannot control...
    >What difference does it make to you if Adobe releases a new version of Reader that is not supported on Linux?
a new Adobe Reader version that's supported on Linux would be nice. a dialogue between Adobe and Linux developers would be nice...
    >As long as the old versions can open the files correctly, that's all that matters, no?
No, not if our staff is trained to use the newest Adobe Acrobat (trainings are usually for the newest versions) and uses that to produce forms. Now the files open correctly. But what will be in some months or years? Do people working on Linux do have to print the forms then again to fill in?
So do you recommend that we stop the process of producing electronic forms and stay with paper-fill-in forms? Is that the goal of Adobe? (maybe not so clever for your "financial viability"?!?!? ... ein schuss ins eigene bein?!?!)
    >Adobe is a public company and therefore it's not going to maintain a version of its software at great cost if it's not financially viable. It's as simple as that...
So it is to be interpreted that Adobe is interested in killing Linux cause if users cannot work with let's say forms, they will have to switch to something that can do that for them...
We definitely don't want to force Windows or Mac on our clientele. So as far as I get it, we will go back to paper forms and terminate our licence agreements with Adobe and deinstall it...

  • Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 crashes each time I try to move a library ebook to my kobo ereader

I am using Mac OS X 10.9.5. I installed ADE 4.0 and was able to use the ascm file from my local library to download a library book to ADE 4.0 bookshelf. ADE recognizes my Kobo eReader, but when I drag the book to the eReader, ADE first tells me it is copying the file to the eReader, then it promptly crashes and gives a long error (pasted below). I tried this on my laptop too, which uses Mac OS X 10.7.5, also with ADE 4.0. Exact same thing happens.
I have no idea what's going on. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried plugging the eReader in at different times (when ADE is launched, and before it launches), with no change in the error.
    Any help will be appreciated!

  • I have tried to download books to my kobo and get an error message that the document is not currently authorized to my adobe ID.

I have already contacted Kobo who told me to uninstall the ADE 4.0 and install the ADE 3.0.  I've done this, and nothing.  I've erased the authorization for the kobo that was still there, and authorized it again.  Everything is authorized.  I've even tried borrowing a second book and downloading.  These books are showing in my ADE as being in the kobo.  On my kobo ereader device, the icons for the book are black.

The Kobo and the ADE are authorized to the same Adobe ID.  I have double checked everything.

I believe I need to access the Kobo Desktop Reader from ADE first to be able to authorize the KOBO Desktop Reader.
However, the ADE is not recognizing the presence of the reader.
