Adobe toolbar in Office 2007 not appearing
I'm having a problem in which the Adobe toolbar is not appearing in our Office 2007 applications. I have Acrobat 8 installed. I've already followed all the steps in the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdfmaker-unavailable-office-2007-acrobat.html
The "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" is listed as an active add-in, but the toolbar is not displayed. Are there any other steps to try outside of that above article? I've ran repairs on Office & Adobe Acrobat, re-registered the add-in, re-installed Adobe Acrobat... none on this has resolved my issues.Yes, there is a way. How to add adobe toolbar to office 2013 programs?
Some users where I work complained of having lost Adobe toolbar and right-click options after upgrading from Office 2010 to version 2013. I don't seem to find a way to adding these options back . . .
What Adobe toolbar are you referring to?

Trojan Horse - contribute toolbars in Office applications
re: CS3 Web Premium - full install
None of the conventional methods of managing toolbars in MS
Word (and other MS Products) seems to work in eradicating the
unwanted Contribute (and to some degree, Acrobat) toolbars:
/view/toolbars/ - deselect contribute toolbar
/tools/customise - deselect contribute toolbar
/tools/customise - drag contribute tools from contribute
toolbar until empty
All the above appear to work, yet the original Contribute
toolbar is present again (taking up precious space and throwing
toolbars in disarray) the next time Word (Excel, Outlook, etc) is
loaded.
When dragging contribute tools from contribute toolbar there
is a confirmation screen regarding changes to
ContributeWordUITemplate.dot - yet i can't find this template to
remove or edit it.
Furthermore, what options do i have to remove the Contribute
and Acrobat menus from the main menu bar in Word?
Any application that overrides standard procedures to prevent
itself from being removed is a Trojan Horse as far as I am
concerned. This practice is worse than arrogance, it is malicious.
Has anyone managed to eradicate these?Check this post:

I have a macbook pro and i need to update it to the newest software 10.10.2 but i am afraid of loosing my adope applications and my microsoft office application. i wanted to know if i do update my computer will i loose my adope apps? i have the adobe CS6 installed
You will more than likely need to re-install CS6 after the upgrade, so you might as well uninstall first. Be sure you have your serial number(s) before upgrading or uninstalling CS6..
As for Microsoft Office, I'm not sure.

I use MS Word 2003 &, as of 2007, Acrobat 6.0. When I installed Acrobat, it appeared to install an Acrobat toolbar into Word that would appear just above the ruler at the top of the document. From time to time, this toolbar would disappear. Someone told me that Word updates tended to disable this toolbar, making it disappear, but that I could go to Help/ About Word & click "Disabled Items ...", and the toolbar would be in the collection of disabled items and I could enable it. This actually worked a few times.
Now that I've upgraded to Acrobat 9, the toolbar has disappeared & no longer appears in the disabled item list. In its place, there are 2 buttons at the right end of the upper Word toolbar named Adobe PDF & Adobe comments. They appear to do the same conversion operation as could be done from the Adobe toolbar that is now missing, but it takes a whole lot more time.
Have any of you encountered this problem and figured out a way to get the toolbar back? I find it preferable.
Thanks for your help.Hi nicolas_78,
Acrobat 11 is compatible with Office 2013. Please let me know what version of Acrobat you are using. -
Still no Outlook toolbar, x64, Office 2010?
A while ago I installed Acrobat 9 on Windows 7, 64 bit with Office 2010. One thing that annoyed me was the lack of an Acrobat toolbar within Outlook, and no way to click a PDF button from within Office applications to create a PDF file through Acrobat. At the time I think that the support team told me a fix was coming (something about 64 bit, or Outlook 2010, I don't remember).
It still doesn't seem to work after the latest updates, is there any new progress on this to report?Acrobat does not support the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010. It will work on 64-bit *operating systems*, but you must use the 32-bit version of Office.

Hi there, can anybody tell me whether the new IntelMacs are gonna be compatible with those programs?
MacBook sv FCP Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, Office, Pronters...
I know FCP update is coming in March. But what about the rest?/?Firstly your post probably would have been more successful in the macbook pro forums for next time but many software makers such as adobe said the will make universal (meaning it will run without emulation, thus at full speed on the intels just as they do currently on the powerpc chips) programs soon. When they come out is up to the maker. Also currently apple's rosetta which emulates powerpc written code to work on the intel processor can handle a plethora, although not all, powerpc applications (including the current version of photoshop).

I have a PDF report and I am trying to attach files- of which I have done successfully many times. I am now told " missing PDF maker files". I have looked for support from adobe and told to open microsoft office application and enable a disabled item. I am totally lost as to where to look for this..It suggests that I have saved my file in Office 2003 which I have and always do, but my computer may have made an automatic update which now means I can no longer save in this manner-help!!! I have Adobe Acrobat 9

ADOBE, please fix CC application, it's broken beyond repair.
Just look at the list of people have problems with CC application. It's so bad that if you do a google search on the problem there will be 100+ pages of hits on the problems with CC from professionals to the hobbiest.
I want to stay with Adobe products, but what's happened to your technical experience?
You need a "real" solution to the updater, not a guess work, someone needs to really identify the problem (give you a hint, is security context related). Clearly the group that coded the Adobe CC application updater doesn't have the necessary technical skills/understanding of the Windows OS.
Repeat of what I posted in another thread:
The Adobe Creative Cloud tool is terrible!! I've done all the suggested "fixes" and they simply don't work. I've contacted support and gone thru the opm.db file deletion process and that didn't work.
1. I'm constantly being asked to "Sign-In" whenever I open any CC products.
2. I have two Adobe icons in my Task bar, one is CC icon the other is Adobe Application Updates icon
3. Selecting Adobe Application Updates icon and right click and selet Open Updater does nothing
4. Select Adobe CC icon and clicking on the HOME tab just shows a blue spinning wheel (dashed) that never stop
5. Select Adobe CC icon and click on Files says "Coming soon"
6. Select Adobe CC icon and click on Apps is the only thing that works shows my installed app and those apps need updates
7. Select Adobe CC icon and click on Fonts says "Coming soon"
I'm a software engineer so I know a thing or two about Windows 7 OS, Adobe are NOT installing their CC under correct security context and they are also trying to display a UI element (User Interface) under a different security context (the systray context) which is not allowed under Windows 7 security model. And I also suspect that my CS6 products Application Updater is conflicting with Adobe CC. If you take a look at your Windows Services, you'll see:
A. AdobeARMservice (Adobe Acrobat Update Service)
B. AdobeFlashPlayerUpdateSvc (Adobe Flash Player Update Service)
C. SwitchBoard (Adobe SwitchBoard)
And if you take a look at running processes:
i. AAM Updates Notifier (Adobe OOBE component)
ii. Adobe CEF Helper (Adobe CC process)
iii. Adobe CEF Helper (Adobe CC process)
iv. Adobe CEF Helper (Adobe CC process)
v. CEPServiceManager (Adobe common process)
vi. acrotray.exe (Adobe Acrobat 11 process)
vii. Adobe CEF Helper (Adobe CC process)
viii. Creative Cloud
So I don't have a single Adobe application "running" yet I have 8 Adobe related processes running and 4 of them are instances of the same executable. I have 3 Adobe windows services running also.
Do Adobe have a big problem with their services and CC and Updaters, YEP! Is the problem related to having CS6 installed AND not understanding Windows OS security context, YES!
Adobe have some great applications, but whatever group is responsible for their update/CC process doesn't appear to have adequate programming experience/knowledge.
I'm at the point of stopping my Adobe CC subscription due to the lack of support from Adobe over these continued problems that myself and MANY MANY others are having with CC.
Rob.Rob,
Thank you, I have forwarded a copy of your post to our Windows Group.
I am in the Mac group but I do use use the windows version when developing work flows.
We needed the file sharing feature of CC for teams and bought into the "team" packages because of the smoke and mirror tricks at MAX.
"Adobe have some great applications, but whatever group is responsible for their update/CC process doesn't appear to have adequate programming experience/knowledge.
The software is good but work groups and workflows they are too imature to provide professional services to the community that they themselves helped create.
We are trying to get our team accounts reduced to single user account and save some money as Adobe can not provide us with file sharing. Adobe does not have a down grade option only up-grade accounts, we are attempting cancel these accounts and purchase single user accounts and control this through a credit card company to manage it for us.
As for file sharing we turned to our Internet service provider, the master of servers put together a cloud environment that's works for our catalogue and magazine workflow's. We have printers, retailers, buyers, publishers, advertisers, designers and web developers that all need to share files together in a work group performing a workflow.
http://www.forttechnology.ca/index.php/ticklevault
Having to buy full CC team accounts to share files with users that use Acrobat Reader to only "look" at files is not worth it. Make a printer buy software they already own to share files, not going to happen. Make designers buy software to get client work at home, they are lined up at the door. Offer to pay for it and they send us flowers on our birthdays,
The difference in Price between single and team is $20 a month per seat. You don't need many user to pay for your own cloud systems.
Myself and some others I work with have 30 years of education invested in PostScript and Adobe's products. Our approach is to take advantage of Adobe failings. We will continue to follow this wounded animal. A PostScript meal is soon to be had again, says one of the victors of the clone wars. It just has an Internet flavor to it. -
No MS Office Applications after update
I have the Intel-based iMac and have just run into my first problem with it after 8 months trouble-free usage.
My icons for the MS office applications have "No Entry" signs on them and I get the following message if I try to launch them:
You cannot open the application “Microsoft Word” because it is not supported on this architecture.
Any thoughts?Hi Marc,
The Get Info under General has Kind: Application (NOT Application (Universal)). No idea why this would be the case.
This is Office 2008 - it says Office 2008 everywhere I look. Not just claiming it is. I don;t understand why they would launch one week and then not launch the next.
I know little enough about all this stuff but my husband announced that they had stopped working 2 weeks ago and please could I fix it. He had an update from Microsoft. He didn't even know how to turn the thing off and on at the switch never mind strip out random parts of the OS.
Re-installing office looks like my only option. Thanks for your help. -
Office documents does not open in the default office application from Search Results
1 WFE + 1 App Server + 1 server for OWA + 1 separate DB server make up our DEV SharePoint 2013 environment. We migrated many web applications from our SP 2010 environment to SP 2013 environment. Client integration is enabled and "Open
Documents in Client Applications by Default" feature is enabled at the site collection level. OWA is enabled and working on the search results, such as showing preview.
From the document libraries, if I open office documents like word, excel and PowerPoint, they open in the respective office applications. However, from the search results, when I try to open by clicking on the result, it opens on the browser. I want
OWA to show document preview but still want to open the document in the default office application. How to overcome this?
I have IE 8.
Thanks, Soumya | MCITP, SharePoint 2010Go to the bottom of the Search page, you will see a Preferences link:
From there, you can set your preference. This is a per-user setting and as far as I'm aware, cannot be set globally.

We have a Library that supports 4 Content Types ("Content Type 1","Content Type 2","Content Type 3","Content Type 4")
The user clicks new and selects "Content Type 3"
Word is started
The user edits the document
Clicks Save
"Choose Content Type" dialog is shown set to the Content Type "Content Type 1" because the Document content type is ordered as First (which also means Default)
What is expected is the "Choose Content Type" dialog to show "Content Type 3" as selected
Any ideas?Hi,
According to your description, there is a library with four content types, you create a document with one of the content types, click save button in Office application,
then a “Choose Content Type” dialog will show up for selecting a content type.
I tried to reproduce as below:
1. Create a library with four content types;
2. In the ribbon of this library, “FILES”->”New Document”->”Content Type 1”, then the Office application with the predefined template will be opened for editing;
3. Click the “Save” button, choose the save path as the current library, click “OK” to finish the process;
4. Refresh the library in browser, the newly created document appears there.
In my test, there is no “Choose Content Type” dialog showing up when save the document in Office application.
I would suggest you provide more details about how to reproduce this issue(screenshot would be better) for further research.
Thanks

You can buy the retail disk at online resellers or the Apple Store for $29. It'll be at version 10.6.3 or .4; you can then update to the latest via Software Update to 10.6.8.
In the meantime, you might want to consider to also contact Adobe; ask about the compatibility and if they want to see the report. -

It means what it says - it's not compatible with modern Macs. You need to buy a current version.
