I'm getting to a place where I'm going to need to expand.
Seems like its either a question of getting a fairly recent well powered working machine that can drive 4 to 6 hefty hdd drives in the 1-3tb or nearly so range .. each. So lots of storage and workroom plus maybe a nice sized solid state drive for the OS.
Or what I've been wondering about, a well powered recent windows based working machine with only a couple 500gb hard drives and again a nice sized solid state drive for OS, and keep the bulk of the graphics files and backup data on a file server elswhere on the lan.
I've been intertaining the notion of running a zfs server to hold my photo collection and all or at least most hefty graphic files as well as the periodic backups of everything.
It would be a openindiana solaris server (One strain of the several open source versions of solaris).
But the lan server part is really less important and not the subject of my query.
I wondered if any one here works like this:
Your main localhost and work machine is a decently powerful windows based machine, on which you run a recent full complement of adobe's main tools. And of course a small herd of other graphics apps.
You keep the files on which you work on a lan server where the lan is 1000 gb ethernet through out. That is, all the network parts, routers, wires adaptors etc are capable of sustained 1000gb transmission. It is not a crowded network, possible even just a home lan.
You actually carry out the work by running adobe tools over this lan, working on the files in place on the fileserver.
That is, you do not pull the working files across the network, and work on them locally then put them back. At least not for the most part.
Is there a reasonable workflow that could be attained in that fashion or is it the idle daydreaming nonesense of a perenniel greenhorne? Something that no real graphics working person would even consider.
Understand that my work is not commercial in any way... its prosumer, hobby level with maybe a bit more of a wannabe pro flavor than some hobbiests might strive for.
So, please any of you well experienced hands out there, let me know if the setup I've tried to briefly describe is a poor way to be heading.

I would imagine most people using the Teams subscription model share the same storage space, but AFAIK each user has their own unique copy of Photoshop running locally. Maybe someone who works in such an environment can help.

The Flash Player is not running but it is there and it is enabled and Active X is not checked. The Player version is 16.0.0.305. I have the latest ie11 and the latest W8.1. I have used the Adobe tool to delete the Flash and subsequently I have updated or reloaded Flash using your updater. I have gone into IE options and insured that the settings are supportive of Flash. The Adobe mini Flash test program on your site says it not enabled or Active X is enabled - not true - all is set as it should be. I have gone through your forums but to no avail. I've looked in MS forums but nothing that made any difference. What's going on and what can I do about it?
Try using Firefox. Flash usually works on Firefox when it won't on Safari. I noticed that the Safari does not show the same version as Firefox does. Iwonder if that could be the problem. Safari on the left shows 10.1, Firefox show 10.3

I have some videos that are completely well shown when using any media player, but some parts of the video appear with red screens when I try to edit them on Adobe Premier. Does anyone knows the reason?

Adobe CC 2014 newest version completely up to date.The cleaner tool doesn't touch presets, templates or other user data. All it does is flush the installer database to remove blockages. The last time it actualyl deleted any files and folders was with CS3. so whatever you did, you may have hit the wrong button. And while I underrstand your frustration, the download pages states that you are advised to backup your data, regardless...

We are evaluvating a tool to convert word document to pdf for our prestegious client.
Below are requirements,
Requirement 1:
Source- MS Word document
Target- PDF
1) Conversion of MS Word document to PDF through online. Here Word document content don't follow any specific layout disagn.
User wants pdf format should be as same as Word document including font, file layout, header, footer.
2) Target Pdf should dynamically generate content while reading word document. i.e it has to replace <placeholders> with the data read from DB.
3) Target Pdf should also merge some other pdf documents during conversion
Requirement 2:
Source- PDF
Target- PDF
1) User will provide PDF which has user data aswell as <placeholders>. We need to replace the <placeholders> with the data read from DB & generate PDF.
Please let us know which adobe tool would suite better for above said requirements.
Note: From my initial analysis I found 'LiveCycle PDF Generator ES ' and 'LiveCycle Output ES2' are suitable to 'Requirement 1'. Please let me know your comments on this.

I want to create a pop up calendar in adobe acrobat or any other adobe tool via adobe javascript in a PDF form .
I wish to create the calendar without any third party tool.
I found few options like formrouter and also pdf scripting.
But I was to create the calendar via pure Adobe Javascript. If no such option is there inbuilt pop up calendar control in any adobe tool to design the PDF form and afterwards save the same as PDF.All 3 of the options provide are all JavaScript. There is no plug-in used. You do need to place the JavaScript code text file into a special folder so that the menu and tool bar tools that allow execution of the JavaScript code and associate the pop-up calendar with a specific field.

How to I get my Mac to show the iPhoto tool bar across the top?
My iPhoto doesn't show a tool bar across the top--just the categories on the side. Therefore, I can follow Gary's instructions on deleting photos. I didn't realize until I watched a video that I didn't have the options he was talking about.
Are you using Full Screen View? Or a second Monitor? Try move your cursor to the very top of the screen.

So I used one of the Adobe examples except now it's part of a container and it's using a datasource instead of the flatfile the example uses. Also, for some reason I need to create a button instead of using the creationComplete to get it to work. My problem is if the button is clicked to fast while it's loading the data (since another part of the application has a dropdown menu so you can requery information) you get an error and for some reason, you'll still get the same error even if the data is fully loaded and even if you change the parameter to reload the data. My feeling is that the variables are not getting cleared out after it throws the error.
So my question is what is the best way to clear out the variables (and how) when it throws an error. The code for the page is below.

G'day,
I need some help, i am trying to type into an adobe document using the typewriter function.
However every time after i type the text vanishes. It is almost as if the text is white and vanishes into the background.
This is not the case as the works are not visible regardless of the background color.
The text box remains available and can be edited if clicked on, also if i double click on it the typed words become visible and editable, however once i close the box i cannot see them on the screen.
I would appreciate any help i can get, i cant seem to do anything using properties or view.

3. If you look at the text properties on the Tools panel (under Format), what color is the text swatch?
A. Test swatch for the text is black
4. What happens if you change the text color?
A. Nothing.

Thank youPerhaps checking the online help or the manuals would help. I can't give you a definitive answer, but let me tell you what I've used it for. Film is normally shot at 24fps. When it's transferred to video it's slowed down to 23.986 fps and then 3:2 pulldown is added (fields are repeated in a particular order) to change the frame rate to 29.97 fps without changing the speed. There are several reasons you might want to remove this pulldown and restore your film to a progressive 23.986 frame rate.
I'd suggest opening the program up and exploring the menus and looking up any terms you don't understand in the manual.

Reinstall of OS and Adobe tools nightmare

I broke down and reinstalled a full reinstall on a machine heavily loaded with adobe tools. The OS had gotten too unstable and just too many glitches every day.
Now reinstalling all my adobe tools is turning into a serious nightmare.
A few of them, Encore2.0 photoshopcs2 (upgrades) so far, and I suspect Audition2 will behave likewise, have insisted on being shown an installed earlier version.
Well PSCS2 actually had a choice of showing a cd-rom loaded with photoshopCS install CD.
But Encore2 doesn't even have that. It simply insists on being shown an INSTALLED earlier version. I couldn't hardly believe this stupidity.
I'm having to install Encore-1.5 in order to install 2.0. Surely Adobe can do better.
What would be wrong with inserting the prior key number? or at least allow me to put the earlier version in the cd to be examined likd PSCS2 did.
Surely adobe team must know that sometimes its necessary to re-install OS from bare metal, yet no provision is made for that. Now these are not some low priced poorly produced pieces of software, but top shelf stuff.
Please someone tell me I have foolishly overlooked some handy way to get this job done without having to waste time installing 2 version s to get 1.Do you have the upgrade version of Encore 2.0? If so, that's the method it uses to verify the prior version is installed. Just install Encore 1.5, and then you can install 2.0.
