Adobe transmit displays 1440x1080 footage as 4:3

I've just upgraded to CS6 from 5.5 and have the following problem:
Panasonic P2 footage (AVC intra 50) is not displayed correctly on my production monitor (via Black Magic Intensity) - the image is being sqeezed to 4:3 when it should be anamorphic 16:9. The same goes for 1440x1080 ProRes footage.
However, the image is correct in the viewer window which places the bug in either Adobe Transmit or Black Magic's driver. Additionally, if I drop the same footage into and AVC-100 timeline then it displays correctly.
I looked at the AVC-intra 50 settings and they appear correct so I can't tell who's to blame here.
Anyone else having problems with AVC-intra 50 footage and a third party monitoring system like AJA or Matrox? I'd love to hear if other Black Magic users are having problems. I suspect it's the Black Magic driver...

Rolling back the driver would be a good way to determine the culprit. Only problem is that the old driver had flakey audio when turning on scrub, would drop frames and then catch up, and also had about 5 frames of latency. BUT at least I would find out if the new driver was the culprit.
I'll give it  a try just find out!

  • What settings will allow Adobe to display as a thumbnail in Explorer

This question has probably been answered many times before but bear with me as I cannot find out what settings are required to allow Adobe to display as a thumbnail, of the files contents, instead of the red PDF orbital image. I have a lot of craft images, papers etc and I used to have a proportion of the files that displayed as an thumbnail image but could never make all my Adobe files display the same and since I have updated to Adobe Reader XI I no longer have any files that display as thumbnails. As it makes it easier to see an image instead of opening each document every time to see the image it would be useful to be able to  convert back to thumbnails. I would hope that this is still possible as if it isn't it is certainly a retrograde step.
This is on a PC / Laptop running Windows 7
Thanks to anyone who can come up with an answer
    Pete M

It has been my experience that with all 64-bit Windows (I use 7 and 8.1), thumbnail preview does not work well. I've had some success with:
Fixes for 64-bit Adobe Reader preview handler and thumbnails
With this fix, preview works correctly for a time and then stops working. I have no idea why it stops.
I've looked for an alternative to Adobe Reader (I use the free version). Only one seems to work and it is Foxit Reader. I understand that you wanted a fix for Adobe Reader. So do I. For now at least, I have set Free Foxit Reader as default so that thumbnails work and use "right-click/open with" to open in Adobe Reader.
    Hope this helps

  • Cant get adobe to display on screen

Cant get adobe to display on screen!   Anyone know?

Adobe what? Adobe is a company, one who makes a number of software products. You'll need to tell us what software it is you're trying to use and the exact nature of the problem before anyone can offer advice. It will also help if you tell us what version of Mac OS X your system is running.
Adobe has their own forums, by the way. You'll probably be most likely to get help in using their products there:

Cant used adobe premier elements Interpret footage in premier elements 11  help

This is not Adobe. We are Premiere Elements users trying to help Premiere Elements users. We try to answer as soon as we see an issue presented. But we do not have a fixed schedule.
We need to backup on this to find out exactly what you want to gain with Interpret Footage. And, what you are doing?
I am a little concerned when you write "...try to change the aspect ratio of the full screen...". You cannot change the aspect ratio of the full screen with Interpret Footage or anything else within the project.  The Edit Mode monitor that you see before you is determined by the project preset that you or the project is setting.
In Premiere Elements 11 the program steps in front of you and automatically sets the project preset according to the properties of what you drag to the Timeline for the first time. Sometimes it does it OK, sometimes not. When it does not, then you set the project preset yourself manually before you import your media into the program.
To do that, open your new project, go to File Menu/New/Project and set the project preset that matches the properties of your source media that you will bring in after you set the project preset. Before leaving the new project dialog, make sure that you have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on this Project". Then close out of there. In the workspace, go to Add Media and bring in your source media.
DO NOT use the File Menu/Interpret Footage if you want to change the frame rate or pixel aspect ratio of anything that you have already imported. Go to the imported file in Project Assets, right click it, select Interpret Footage, and work with the Interpret Footage dialog that opens.
I suspect that you may be using Interpret Footage for something other than what it is supposed to be used for.
I am getting the Help message, but I cannot help you without details of what you are doing.
If you are not understanding what I am trying to tell me, do not hesitate to let me know. I will re-write the information if necessary. But to do that I need details to work from.
    We can solve this issue.
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Reader displays text incorrectly as a thin grainy font

Adobe Reader displays text incorrectly as a thin grainy font. How do I fix it?

I think I counted three tabbed panels in the markup, each with an ID of TabbedPanels1
You have only one constructor that makes one instance of the tabeed panels with an ID of TabbedPanels1
There are a couple of things that create the problem.
There can only be one ID with the same name in a document, thus the ID's of the TabbedPanels will need to change from TabbedPanels1 for the second and third instances to TabbedPanels2 and TabbedPanels3 (or similar) respectively.
There needs to be a constructor for each tabbed panels like
    var TabbedPanels1 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels1");
    var TabbedPanels2 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels2");
    var TabbedPanels3 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels3");

  • My 1440x1080 footage is letterboxed

When I create a DVD with my 1440x1080 footage it appears letterboxed on my 42" plazma tv. I want it to fill the screen. Can anyone tell me how to set it up to do so? Also, when I upload it to the web it appears letterboxed. In final cut my sequence settings are 1440x1080 and it seems to export as 16x9. I don't understand why it plays back as letterboxed. I appreciate the help.

Two things to look at: how is your DVD player set up to deliver the picture to your TV? Most have an on screen menu, make sure it is set to send a 16:9 image to the TV.
Where are you uploading the internet content?

  • Why is Adobe Reader displaying predominantly in B&W?

While setting up a different XP computer (Dell 430 with XP SP3) I found certain PDF documents were not displaying with proper colors.  Were mainly in B&W with just a little color.  The same file displays properly with various versions of Adobe Reader on other computers.
A file that would not display properly is (London Tube Map).
    http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.pdf
I've uploaded a JPEG of what the bad display looks like - If you know the London Underground map you will see the problem!
Problem exists when viewing as an Internet Explorer 7.0 plug-in or with downloaded version of same file.
I checked all Reader preference settings particulary Accessibility - all seem the same as on a working computer
I updated Reader from 8.1.3 to 9.2 - problem remains.
    I uninstalled / re-installed Reader - problem remains
I updated my Intel GMA graphics driver - problem remains
    Any idea? - Thanks

    Thanks Michael.
    Problem remains.
I have plenty of RAM an Disk space.
I have tried turning off graphics acceleration - Display Properties - Settings - Advanced - Troubleshoot - None + disabled Write Combining all to no effect.
I had have the latest Dell supported 945GM Graphics driver.  However, I did download and install a much newer driver directly from Intel.  Intially got message to say 'this driver not validated for my computer', but did a work around using an 'install from disk procedure'.
New driver works but the PDF display problem remains as before.
I then deinstalled and reinstalled Adopbe Reader 9.2 yet again, but still problem remains.
    Anyone got any further suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Need help using 1440x1080 footage in a SD 4:3 timeline

    Hi Folks,
I need to use some AVCHD footage in a normal SD 4:3 timeline destined for a dvd. I'm trying to figure out the best workflow. The client provided a usb hard drive with some files extracted from a Sony hdr-sr5. I know the first problem is ingesting these files. I'm on a PPC G5 so I know using the L&T window isn't an option. I have experimented with using Toast to convert the files to ProRes 422 and that seems to work to some degree. I'm probably not doing it correctly because the footage shows up in FCP looking somewhat squished down and with letterbox bars above and below. In Toast the files indicate that they are h.264 1440x1080. When viewing in the Toast Video Player they get 'expanded' to 1920x1080. So I'm not sure why the footage gets letterboxed when converted to ProRes. So I guess that's the first part of the problem.
The second issue is that I just need to use the center crop of the image in a SD timeline. It's just talking head stuff so there's no problem cropping down. But I'm just not sure I understand the correct procedure for doing that once I have the footage ingested in the proper format.
I could definitely use some guidance here as the whole AVCHD thing is new to me.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Can't help with your first question, but create an sd 4:3 timeline. Drop your hd footage into it. It will come in letterboxed. In the motion tab, remove any distortion, scale and position to your liking

  • Adobe Reader displaying PDF's incorrectly

I have created a pdf file using Apple Pages. When this file is opened using Apple Preview is displays correctly. When I open it using a browers (Safari or Chrome) it displays correctly. If I open tye file using Adobe Reader on either a Mac or PC the fonts are all jaggie & incorrectly kerned. Printing the file from Adobe Reader results in a perfect print. Any thoughts?

Are you sure you aren't just seeing the preview of the PDF in the email body? If so, all you will see is the first page. You would have to open the PDF to see the rest of the pages.
Email the PDF to yourself, save it to your desktop, then open it. Are all the pages there?
If it actually IS turning in to a .jpg (offhand I can't think of any reason it would) then it's something your email client is doing.

  • Adobe PDF displays "please wait" preview in OPEN file under Windows XP

An Adobe form created in LifeCycle 8.2, enabled for Adobe Reader version 9, displays "Please Wait" page in the preview in place of the actual document form view. Is there a way to disable this error meassage?

    Hi,
no you cannot change this behavior.
This messages is present in all XFA forms (dynamic PDF's) you create with Designer and will be displayed when the PDF viewer cannot handle the XFA data inside the PDF.
In general only Acrobat and Reader support XFA forms, most of the other PDF viewers don't.

  • Blank adobe form displayed in  web dynpro application

    Hi,
I have created an Interactive Adobe form using web dynpro Java. When I run the form (in IE), a blank page is displayed.
If I keep the Adobe reader open and run the form on IE, the form is opened in reader and it's working.
When I access the same form on a different system, there is no problem.
Does this have anything to do with the IE settings or Adobe Reader version/ updates.
I have checked the adobe reader version and it's the same on both the systems.
    Version:
    Adobe Reader Version : 8.1.2.
    Adobe Designer 7.1
    SAP NW 2004s - SP 15
    Thank you,
    Vasu

Not sure what the problem could be, here are some suggessionsu2026
Check whether you have enabled the option Display PDF in browser in the Adobe Reader.
I should be under:   Edit > Preference > Internet
Also, in your Web Dynpro Application, try to set the u201CdisplayTypeu201D property of your Interactive form to ActiveX
Else, just try upgrading your Adobe Reader to latest version!
    Hope this helps,
