Adobe update keeps repeating

When Adobe Updater activates and one views details, two columns are displayed.
One is "available updates", the other "installed updates". They match.
Is this normal through several auto update cycles?
...or is Acrobat supposed to note that I have already installed what it's saying is available and stop displaying those that are already installed?

Why not simply turn off the autoupdates and check the Adobe site for updates periodically (or manually do the update from Acrobat)?

Why does the Adobe Updater keep failing? I close my Webroot antivirus app and the update keeps failing for the Extension Manager 6.0.8 Update. The message is "Extension Manager 6.0.8 Update Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7". I cannot retry until the Adobe Updater appears again in the notification bar (lower right of my Win 7 desktop.

  • Updates keep repeating

Every time I start my computer for nearly a week I get a request to update Adobe Reader.  It seems to be the same update every time.  I run it and it appears to install correctly and gives no error messages.  How can i stop these repeated messages?
I have Windows 7 x64, and help says Adobe Reader v10.1.0. (although it says Adobe Reader X in the heading).
On a separate point why do Adobe insist on putting a shortcut on my desktop?  I do not want one which is why I deleted it initially so for Adobe to keep putting it back every time there is an update is pretty stupid - why can'y they just detect it is not there any more and do nothing?

The file is rather big so I assume the last entry will have what
    you want:

  • Updater keeps repeating update

    Photoshop and Bridge CS2.
Adobe Bridge updater 1.0.3 appears regularly each month; I've updated already - so why does it keep appearing???

Forgot about CS2 versions (it is some years ago...) but I believe the latest
version for Bridge 1 (that comes with CS2) was 1.0.4.
If it does not recognize this update and you have checked the about info in
Bridge showing 1.0.3 and in PS itself the version shows 9.0.2 you might
consider to deselect the auto update for Adobe. (the 1.0.4 update did have
    some minor fixes)
The Adobe Updater application should by in the utilities folder (inside
application folder). Start this by double clicking and it will run a check.
After this you will also see a button with preferences, select this and
deselect auto update so it will not run again.
This is fairly save because there will be no newer updates for CS2. Only the
latest versions of PS (current is CS4) will be provided with newer updates
    if necessary.
And remember that according to new upgrade policy Adobe let you only go 3
version back, so the next version that will be released (probably called
CS5) will be your last chance to upgrade, after this you will need to buy a
    full new license

  • Adobe Updater keeps downloading again and again

Hi, I'm posting here for lack of a more appropriate forum, I searched for one on Adobe Updater but couldn't find any.
Lately the Adobe Updater has been launching informing me that new updates are available from my products (I'm on CS4, production suite), when I click on details all products have updates available, I click ok and it downloads something in the size of 3.7 mb, give or take, but immediately after it;s done downloading it prompt me again to download the new version available, if I keep con clicking ok, the loop will continue to go on and on, until I hit cancel, but then as far as I notice, nothing gets installed.
Can some tell me what's going on?
    Thanks,
    D.

Problem with Adobe CS4 started when Adobe Updater fail to update Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.3 to 9.20.
What I did was to uninstall Acrobat Pro 9.1.3, reinstall it from CS4 DVD. Then run updates to 9.2. The update success in this case. However, during the DVD reinstall process many components also have been installed by Adobe CS4 as well.
Now I have another issue occured. Adobe Update in Photoshop CS4 prompted me to install Camera Raw Update 5.5. I did so, but after installed, wnen I run Adobe Updater, it prompt me to update Camera Raw 5.5 Plugin again and again in loop.
I downloaded Camera Raw 5.5 install file from Adobe, run it separately. It won't do anything, stated that I have already had Camera Raw 5.5 installed.
So how can I get out of this annoying problem. Adobe I paid for the product that is getting more and more buggy and complicate!
Can any friend here help me out of this annoying situation? Thank for advice in advance

  • Adobe Updater keeps doing the same update (CS4 Air 1.5)

Every time I run Adobe Updater it finds the same 100 Mb update - Flash 10.0.0.1 Adobe AIR 1.5 Update. Then, it downloads it and installs it. It notifies me that the installing process was completed. But when I run the Adobe Updater again, there is the same update. And it just goes on and on. I've even tried logging in as root and running the updater in case it needs to modify something outside normal bounds but it didn't help.
Does anyone have suggestions as to where the problem might be? I know some of you really prefer to install everything manually but I'm still considering that the last resort - if I can get the automatic updater to work, I'm a happy camper again!
Macbook Late 2007 2.2GHz Dual core duo santa rosa 4 Gb RAM 160 Gb HD with 26 free, OS X 10.5.6 with CS4 Design Premium INT ENG

The update will not affect the splash screen or About Page
    version number.
For a quick check you can try creating an AIR package or an
AIR preview. If everything works smooth then the installation would
    have been a success.
The other details related to installation on a Mac should be
seen on all other Adobe app and not restricted to Fireworks alone.

  • Adobe updater keeps making me download the same updates.

There seems to be some bug on all my 4 licensed computers. Adobe updater tells me there are updates to all my CC apps. I download them- restart the computer. Then I launch updater and all the apps are there again to be updated. Is this a bug in the updater and can I be sure that I have the latest updates?

  • Update Keeps Repeating

Everything is working fine with my Mac App Store, except for an update I have. When it first came out, I downloaded the Twitter for Mac app. Everything was fine. Then an update to the app came, I downloaded it, everything was fine. But now, another update came, I download it, it installs, the app marks as running the new version, but when I launch the App Store again, it says I have the same update again. This happens every time I launch the App Store, and I have to re-download.
I followed some instructions that were given to me on another discussion here at Apple Support. The instructions included deleting "com.apple.appstore, com.apple.storeagent" from the Caches folder on my HomeFolder/Library folder. Also, "com.apple.appstore.plist, com.apple.storeagent.plist" from the Preferences folder, and "com.apple.appstore" from the Cookies folder.
I also completely uninstalled the Twitter app, and even when uninstalled, when launching the Mac App Store, it will show the update (even if I am not logged into my account).
I am running Mac OS X v10.6.8. I also installed the Mac OS X v10.6.8 Update Combo from the Apple website, and with no luck. It just keeps showing up.
Is there anything I can do?
    Thank you very much!

Ok, I just found the solution.
If you download a cracked app from outside the Mac App Store, and you use the Twitter files to make it work, the app store will continue to show the update, even though it's not for Twitter technically. So the solution: Delete the cracked app (e.g. Angry Birds).

  • Adobe update keeps downloading adobe updater over and over again

..and it won't stop! It looks like the same 2.3mb file that the update program is trying to download. Once the update is started it just keeps trying to download that file until I cancel the update. I am sure I have never gotten an update on my new programs because of this. Any ideas?

This is how in CS3. Most likely it's applicable to all CS versions.
In Photoshop, open any document or a blank new document; go to the menu Help<Updates; select Preferences; uncheck the box that says "Automatically check for Updates." (If you don't open a document first, the update choice is grayed out.)
    Not so fast...
You need to also turn off the auto updates in Bridge.
Open Bridge, go to menu<Updates; select Preferences; uncheck the box that says "Automatically check for Updates."

  • Update keep repeating problems

I installed maverick x on my computer and it said a new update was available so I told it to install. Now I get a message there was a error during the process and it keeps cycling over and over

Hello mgolden2509. That would definitely have an effect on my everyday life as well, if my phone did not charge properly. This should definitely not be happening so let's see what we can do. I'm sure you have tried a battery pull by this time, and if that did not help, I honestly recommend a hard reset. Something my have corrupted during the install of KitKat, so a hard reset should definitely help clear things up. http://vz.to/1eHSSNT
Just be sure to backup your data, and remove your SD card after you are done backing up your phone and SD cards content before you go through with the hard reset.

  • Garageband Instruments and Apple Loops 1.0 update keeps repeating

I have OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 and Garageband 10.0.3. The auto update for Instruments and Apple Loops 1.0 appears and runs as an available update on a daily basis despite the fact that it has previously updated Garageband. Help please.

    Paul,
I think what is happening is, that the update you are trying to install is meant for the new Mavericks compatable version of GarageBand - GarageBand 10.0. When the download finishes, it cannot be installed properly, because GarageBand 10.0 is not present. With GB 10 installed, these instruments download with no problem on my mac.
GB 10.0 is free on Mavericks - so, honestly, download and install GB 10.0 in addition to your current version. Let it download and install additional instruments and loops, launch it once to let it rebuild the loop index, then ignore it. The application does not need much space, and perhaps you may want to use occasionally the automatic drummer or the Arpeggiator. Before downloading GB10.0, make a backup copy of GB '09, just in case the installer should try to overwrite it.
After GB 10 installed the additional instruments, search for all places with installed loops in the system library and rebuild your loop index.

  • Firefox/new Adobe update/keeps telling me to update w/ Farmville game

    Hello
I was instructed by my internet provider Wildblue to change from Explorer to Firefox in which I did with no problems.  The problem that I am having since I have updated to Firefox is that I can not load my farmville game and it tells me to update to the new version of Flash in which I have done.  It is still not letting me play my games.  What is the problem and is there any fix for it.
    Please help
    JoAnn

Hi K, What I have seen with Facebook/Farmville/games is even before 10.1 many users were having issues with that site. Not everyone, but from those that were, it appeared a combination of what they had on their systems in the way of add ons to the browser. Also with what version of Flash Player Farmville and the various games supported. And yes, it could very well be that they have not updated to the latest version of Flash Player.
Also changes have been made with the 10.1 and perhaps these conflict with what they do support. Something changed, since you had no problem and then updated and did. Now it does not necessarily mean it is that site. You aren't having any problem with youtube, but many are. A lot of this is with the hardware acceleration, since is it turned on by default.
That's why many are turning it off. Following is the site that explains some of the hardware acceleration.
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html
If you are having the problem with Farmville/games I would try following those instructions in that thread and see if that helps. Also it should not affect youtube, since many that are having problems with youtube are turning the H.A. off.
You'll see in that H.A. info that the graphic/video drivers need to be updated to the latest also. I'd try the H.A. first.
    Let me know.

  • Adobe Updater failure

    Hi,
I posted my frustration on the Adobe Photoshop Facebook page because I found no easy way to contact Adobe about this.
One of the support persons that Adobe employs overseas "helped" me with my most recent upgrades to CS 5--Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Lightroom 3. This online support person pushed the wrong link to me and I ended up buying through the MIS area. (I discovered that after I found that I could not find a way to download my newly purchased files.)  BTW, that took about an hour of online support trying to help me find the download area, because I did not even HAVE a UID on the Adobe MIS site. (I never should have clicked on the "help me" link in the store. I just wanted to find out if there was a package update that was more worthwhile financially than the manual updates I already had in my cart!)
Because I'm nearly deaf, I shy away from using telephones unless I must. Also I had to try to raise the support flag twice. The first "supporter" could not make any sense of my purchase ID. It took the second person ~30 minutes until they finally figured out what had happened.
Ok, finally all my products were downloaded, and I finally installed them.  (There was also some complication with the serial numbers.)
Since then (around the beginning of this year), Adobe Updater keeps finding updates for the products I have, but when it tries to install the updates, it fails.
I will try to attach the example .jpgs of the AU failure window.
I do computer consulting for small businesses in NY City; All of this is often the type of problems I am constantly resolving for my clients, but this really tops the list.
If somebody in Adobe-land can help me here (even with fresh install files?!) I will be SO VERY GRATEFUL!
    Thanks,
    Michael Delugg

    MIS?
Did you buy your software through Adobe.com? You should be able to log in to your Adobe ID account and download any software you purchased from your account page.
It looks like you moved or deleted some required software.
This document should work for you:
Try this document to resolve 12.0.4 update/install errors: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/902/cpsid_90228.html
Though you will probably need to reinstall the everything (not just Photoshop).

  • Adobe Updater is blank, won't respond

On my work computer running CS3 on WinXP, the Adobe Updater keeps running each time I restart a program in the suite. There are no updates listed in it, and the Preferences button and Remind Me Later button do nothing. Since this was a new installation on this machine, all the updates have since been run. From what I can tell, there are no others pending.
I've looked through Preferences and I don't see a box to uncheck to stop this from auto running.
How do I turn it off for good, and just run updates manually from now on?

Have you tried the preferences in the updater application?
