Adobe-update zerschiesst Win7

Is there anything else beside the number 130200?

  • Problems installing plug-ins (and even Adobe updates) to Photoshop CS5 Extended on a new Win7 64-bit laptop.Instead, a message box pops up on the CS5 screen saying "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."

Problems installing plug-ins to Photoshop CS5 Extended on a new Win7 64-bit laptop.  (Same CS5 and plug-ins installed OK several years ago on a Vista laptop.  Now I'm just trying to migrate everything over to the new laptop.) Even some Adobe updates won't install.  Instead, a message box pops up on the CS5 screen saying "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."   Any solution?

CS5's automatic update mechanism is broken, perhaps because it is no longer updated and can't cope with the newer ways of updating.
So this means you will have make a list of the updates that failed, go here: Product updates
    and manually download/install from there.

  • Adobe Updater won't work w/ Reader 9.3.1

    Hi,
Recently I've been using Reader quite often, but noticed I can no longer update it, as it comes back with an error message saying the firewall is blocking the update or the adobe updater server is down.  I worked with Symantec to uninstall my AV program that controlled the firewall, and tried to update with no luck.  I'm on Win7 64-bit.  Calling Adobe's Tech Support line redirected me here to the forums.  Can someone help?
By chance, would the Adobe Updater stop working because I recently downloaded & installed a trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0, as the updater function doesn't work on that one either.

Usually, when you uninstall Norton or Symantec Firewall (good choice, by the way) the Windows firewall is reactivated as part of the process.
Unfortunately, when this happens it resets all of the settings for Windows firewall to the default settings, and you usuallt have to go in and "re-allow" programs to access the web on an individual basis.
Open Control Panel > System and Security and click Allow a program through Windows firewall. Click [Allow another program...]
Browse to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe and click Open.
You should see Adobe Reader 9.3 in the list of programs.
Click Add, and it will be allowed (allowing the Updater too, presumably) through the Windows Firewall. Clik OK to close the Firewall allowed programs window.
    Try the update again.

If you're tired of Symantec and Norton, try AVG Free

  • Adobe update issue

I installed adobe acrobat v8.0 on windows 8 64 bit ultrabook a few nonths ago. I have tried to update manually several times. Aparently there have been no updates during this time. However it also comes up with a message saying that it 'the following products updates could not be determined: adobe updater'. Is this a problem, and could it be affecting my lack of updates for acrobat 8.0?

It could be related to AA8 and Win8, 64-bit compatibility -- or even Win7. Many folks were successful installing AA8 on Win7, 32-bit. I have heard of 2 who claim to be successful with Win7, 64-bit. With the 64-bit, you can be sure that the updates will be needed for operation. You will probably need to download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. Even then, AA8 may not work correctly on the system. I assume a lot of the same issues come up with Win8. Generally you will not get assistance from Adobe on this combination since it is not in their compatibility set and they have not updated AA8 to be compatible with either Win7 or Win8. We can try to help if you run into issues, but be aware that for some issues you may be on your own because the rest of us may not have tried out that combination.

  • How do I disable Adobe Update??

I need to know how to disable Adobe Update so it only runs when I want it to run. I saw that my i7-920 24gig machine was using 100% of cpu tonight. Im running on a 12 hour old fresh install of Win7 64bit and was immediately concerned when i saw how much cpu was being used. When I checked system resources, I saw that it was adobe update that was using 99% of all the resources. I cant have this. Please tell me how I can disable adobe update from running without me initializing it.

    Hi Jared,
Please let us know what product (with version) you have installer.

  • Adobe update crashes

Adobe updater has been working perfectly until now when it tries to install Media Encoder 4.2.0 and setup crashes. I tried downloading the update from the Adobe site, and the installer still crashes. There is no information given at the time of the crash, it is a standard Windows crash "Adobe Setup has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." with the error reporting dialog. It cannot be installed. Please help.

I'm having the same problem updating Premier Pro. I hope someone will provide an answer. All other CS4 Production Premium updates work OK, as do all of my CS4 Web Premium updates. I'm running Win7 Professional on an Intel i7 system with 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GT240 video card, so it's not a problem with system resources.

This article describes how to prevent Windows Messenger from running. By default, Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition install Windows Messenger. The user interface does not let you remove or uninstall Windows Messenger.
When you install Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), Windows adds a new feature that is named "Set Program Access and Defaults" to the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. You can use this feature to remove Windows Messenger from the Start menu, from the desktop, or from other locations. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 332003  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/332003/ ) How to change your default programs and to enable or remove access to Microsoft Windows and non-Microsoft programs

Use the Group Policy (gpedit.msc) snap-in to turn on the Do not allow Windows Messenger to be run option.
    Notes
    ·         To use the Group Policy snap-in, you must be logged on to the computer using an account that has administrator permissions.
    ·         This method prevents programs that use the Messenger APIs from using Windows Messenger. Microsoft Outlook 2002, Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the Remote Assistance feature in Windows XP are examples of programs that use these APIs and that depend on Windows Messenger.
To turn on the Do not allow Windows Messenger to be run option, follow these steps:
    1.     Click Start, click Run, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.
    2.     In Group Policy, expand Local Computer Policy, expand Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, expand Windows Components, and then expand Windows Messenger.
    3.     Double-click Do not allow Windows Messenger to be run, and then click Enabled.
    4.     Click OK.
    5.     On the File menu, click Exit to quit the Group Policy snap-in.
If you use Outlook Express - To prevent Windows Messenger from starting automatically, follow these steps:
    Outlook Express
    1.     On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the General tab.
    2.     Click to clear the Automatically log on to Windows Messenger check box, and then click OK

  • Adobe Updates not downloading - available but "try again later" error with link to "serial number not qualifying"

I just upgraded computers (PC w/Windows 8 64 bit) and I did a fresh install of my copy of Adobe Photoshop CS5 (along with Bridge and Camera Raw).
The install asked for serial numbers which I provided and the installation was a success - however, I can not view full resolution images, only thumbs
in Bridge and I can not open RAW files from my Canon 5D Mark III (though, I can my files with the older Canon 7D).  I WAS able to view and work with
the newer RAW files on the older computer.
Under "Help", "Updates", it says they are available but after appearing to upload to my computers, I get this:
      Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.5 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
      Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
There is then a link to customer service which brings me to this:
    Creative Cloud Help /
Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product" | CS6, CS5.5, CS5
What gives?  It was a qualifying product a few months back.  Even if Adobe stopped supporting CS5 (???), I should still have access to past updates
that I had already once received.
I tried 3 times in 1 hour - no luck in getting back to a state I was in only yesterday, and months earlier.
    /Mitch

Apparently, Adobe has very little interest in it's past customers unless they shell out more cash.
I have never seen such a move as this - to REMOVE support and older update links off the Web in an effort to force an upgrade.
My tech support stated (after first stating I was simply out of luck) that he was graciously allowed to make an exception and provided me with a link to support that is strangely
hidden and /or removed from public access.

  • How do I install the FM10 licensing fix when Adobe Update Installer won't run?

Adobe Update Installer won't run so can't install FM10 licensing fix
This question is Not Answered.(Mark as assumed answered)

Because FM10 began crashing with "fatal" errors whenever I tried to generate a TOC for a small (65 page) book, I researched workarounds and none of them worked. Now that I have delivered a crippled deliverable via Acrobat manipulations, I would like to fix FM. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, got some updates, and then received the "licensing fix" error that popped up in January. I'm wondering why this fix was included not in the updates. That said, the licensing fix package, first, would not unzip so I downloaded it again. I unzipped it but I got a message that Adobe Updater Installer could not run and after several clicks I found that file. I reinstalled Adoble Update Installer but it still does not run.
I am running Windows XP and have TCS 3.5.I uninstalled FM and RH but not Acrobat, Captivate, or Photoshop.
So, now what? Listen to my supervisor who says never use FM again?
P.S. Why do I have to enter a title for my question and then do it again when this page opens??

Give Adobe Support a call or contact the TCS team at [email protected] - something in your environment is causing the installer to fail (I'd guess).

  • I need to reinstall my CS3 creative suite I bought with a student license.  It allows me to install but never asked for the serial number.  I can open the programs but can not use them, get a "Adobe updater quit unexpectedly" message.

I bought a CS3 creative suite on a student license in 2008.  The original MAC laptop has died and I am trying to install it on a MAC desktop.  the programs installs successfully but never ask for a serial number.  the programs will open but I can not open any files,  I get a Adobe Updater quite unexpectedly message.  Is this because the serial number has not been entered? I have tried chat about this problem twice, also use Adobe connect and was not helped. How do I enter this serial number?

activate is grayed out.  Registration is available and when I select it, it says "A problem was encountered while trying to send the information over the internet"  So I select "submit again" and nothing happens.  Then the program closes and I get the added updater quite message.

  • Update Error on Adobe Update... CS4 no longer works

Recently I downloaded the latest adobe update... and now it seems like CS4 is falling apart, mainly photoshop...here are the current problems I am faceing

Photoshop Extended CS4| unable to open or create new files due to an error
    |that says:

Dreamwever CS4 |No problems so far...
Flash CS4 |No problems so far...
So... I'm a little bit stuck... any help would be apreciated!
    Alex

I'll assume you are on vista and refering to this:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb408524&sliceId=1
It's the top link in the creative suite forums... I know this why? because I just had the same issue and it took forever to figure out it was posted right up top. That said I did follow all the instructions and now everything is working fine. Be prepared though as the steps you need to take are basically.. change some rights in windows and then uninstall your suite and re-install it again. I can say it works though.. Good luck.

  • Adobe Update Ran, Now PP CS4 No Longer Works with MPEG Files & More....

I think I know what this is but I thought I would make sure.
(Running CS4 Master Suite in Windows 7 Home Premium with 16GB Ram, i970 processor and six short stroked drives for cache, files, etc.)
Last night Adobe Updater popped up and wanted to do some installs. I had already been editing a project usine PrPro and AE for several hours so called it a night and initiated updater. This morning PrPro no longer recognizes my MPEG source files! Niether does AE or ME. In PrPro it hangs on "conforming." Did I get hit with the Revert to Trial bug? Could it be something else?
What I have done: cleared all cache files, rebooted, checked cache settings, rebooted, wiped deleted cache files, rebooted, cursed.

    Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like the Revert to Trial Bug. See this ARTICLE for details and the fix.
    Good luck,

  • Adobe Updater not working for CS4

I have installed CS4 Master Collection on a new Windows 7 PC and it is working, but Adobe Updater isn't working properly. It first installed a few updates that were correct, but now it can't find the remaining updates (which I know exist).
The message is "Please note that some updates for the following products cannot be determined at this time," and then it lists most of the products.
I know that CS4 isn't supported any more, but I would have expected Adobe Updater to at least apply the remaining available patches.
I found another thread where it suggested the updates shown depend on the system clock. (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/913379). I set it to earlier and it briefly found the updates, but it seems to cause Adobe Updater to become unstable, so that hasn't worked for me. There was a suggestion that the Adobe certificate may be out of date (thus the System Clock fix works for some), perhaps Adobe needs to update its certificates?
How can I get Adobe Updater to apply remaining patches? Thanks.

    update directly, http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • HELP!!  Adobe Updater won't work and can't install camera raw 4.6

I just installed Photoshop CS3 Extended onto my new MacBook Pro running Mavericks OS.  My Adobe Updater says "No Internet connection.  Please check your Internet settings and/or firewall.  Waiting for connection..." That's the first problem.  I figured out how to manually update Photoshop and Bridge, but Adobe Updater still shows this message when trying to check for updates.  Also, I've tried to update Camera Raw from 4.0 to 4.6 and I can't figure out how to manually install it.  I knkow the website says to do the following:
    Mac:
Exit Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Bridge.
    Open the Finder.
Navigate to the root of the local disk (not the user’s home folder).
    Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats.
Move the existing plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back.
Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw, from the download into the same folder as in Step 4.
Launch Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Bridge.
I nativagated to Library/Application Support/Adobe, but there is no Plug-Ins folder.  So, I manually entered "Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats" and it says this folder doesn't exist.  Can anyone help me update my camera raw?!  PLEASE!!
    Thank you so much!
