Adobe Updater doesn't find updates, wrong version, hangs

I have the full CS5. When I first installed, updater found a number of updates, and recently, it notified me of the update to Photoshop, so it was working.
I just ran Updater after installing Acrobat, and it did not find any updates, even though there is an update for Flash Builder, which I ended up downloading manually. Additionally, it has the old interface, and offered to check for "All CS4 applications." Umm, wrong version. Now, the Updater icon sits in my Dock and won't quit.

The Acrobat update mechanism is different from that of CS5 products. Did you try a "Help --> Check for updates" from with any CS5 App ?

  • HT1338 Apple's software update doesn't find any updates?

Since updating to OS 10.8.3 the software update does not seem to work anymore. Recently iTunes came up with a message saying that a new version was available but clicking on the update option it re-directed to the App Store and a notification appeared stating that no updates were available. Doesn't make sense to me, especially if I search online on the Apple website I find plenty updates!
Is this a known glitch or am I doing something wrong here? This problem has occured on both my iMac and MacBook Pro. Bye the way, an update to 10.8.4 hasn't changed a thing.

    Maybe this?

  • Software Update doesn't find 10.5.7 Update

I have a 3-month old MacBook Pro and software update doesn't find the 10.5.7 update, About This Mac says my system is 10.5.6. I also have an orginal MacBook Pro running Leopard and this finds it.

Forget software update, it's better to update through combo (or directly downloaded from apple site) anyway.
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1057comboupdate .html
Make sure to verify/repair the disk, and repair permissions from the OSX install disk Disk Utility before updating.
Also if you have Disk Warrior run that before and after install.
Lastly, most importantly...CLONE your drive before any install.
Use Superduper! or Carbon Copy Cloner.

  • Adobe air doesn't submit updated content from ckeditor

    Hello,
I'm wiriting applicaiton using adobe air and part of it is to display in iframe code of website with built in ckeditor (http://ckeditor.com).
The problem is that when I want to submit modified text using ckeditor adobe air send old content.
I'm trying to get new text from ckeditor element using:
         1. CK method "var content = CKEDITOR.instances.editor_content.getData();"
         2. jQuery call: "jQuery("#editor_content").val()"
but both methods return always the initial text, not the modified one. It works without problems with all standard browsers (Chrome, FF, IE etc.).
to test this issue you can open this url within adobe air window (i.e. as iframe):
         http://ckeditor.com/demo#flash
then update content and try to "send to flash". It will send original content, not the modified one.
Does anyone have any idea of workaround for this that can force Adobe Air to send send back updated content of ckeditor ?
I would prefer to find solution on Adobe Air side, without experimenting with other versions of CK or alternative implementations of WSIWYG editors because it's part of bigger project.
    Any adivices welcomed!
    thanks,

    The problem is fixed:
With Windows Fix It at least I was able to uninstall Adobe Air. After Reisnatllation of Air and my application the system is running quite wonderful.

  • N82: Nokia Software Update doesn't find the phone

Hello, I am trying to update the firmware of my Nokia N82, but I get an error message from Nokia Software Updater saying that it doesn't find the phone. I find that strange as Nokia PC Suite indeed finds the phone. The icon on the taskbar says that "AndersMobil is connected".
I've noticed that if I let Nokia PC Suite run at the same time as Nokia Software Updater, this icon shows that the phone is being connected and disconnected several times while Nokia Software Updater tries to find the phone, something that might indicate that the two programs cannot be run at the same time? I tried to run Nokia Software Update alone, but still the program doesn't find the phone.
In Windows Hardware Manager (or Units manager, not sure of the english translation) of Windows XP, "Nokia GSM Phone USB Modem" gives the following error message: "The unit is not working as it should as Windows cannot load the necessary drivers for this unit (Code 31)." Under "Portable Devices" in Hardware Manager/(or Units manager?) the error message "This unit cannot start. (Code 10)" appears for the unit "AndersMobil".
I followed the guidelines on the internet reinstalling Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater, removing and reinstalling the drivers, but Nokia Software Update still doesn't find the phone, and the same error messages appears in Hardware/Units manager every time.
    What do I do?
    Regards,
    Anders
By the way, I sent an e-mail to Nokia support about this but they still haven't answered although it's been a long time since.

  • Adobe application manager not finding updates on PSE11

There should be a camera raw 7.4 update available, but it is not being found and I am not sure what other updates are not being found.
In addition I did a manual download of Adobe Patch Installer and when it was launched got the following message in the UPDATES pop up:
         > Error loading Updater workflow
I suspect this may be the root cause of the application manager not finding updates.
Any suggestions on how to get this Updater workflow to load?

FYI - I did an un-install and re-install of PSE11 and it looks like that has worked as the system is now recognizing available updates :-)

  • TPT2: System Update still doesn't find updates

Even though the driver list for the TPT2 was updated yesterday so that BIOS 1.32 and another update are specifically marked for Windows 8.1, System Update still does not find these updates. It cannot be that difficult to make this work. The update metadata has to say that the update applies to Windows 8.1 (and the update list at http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&DocID=DS033224 suggests that it does) and System Update has to offer updates applicable to Windows 8.1. Not rocket science!
Please fix this right now! Thanks - rick

    Well, the "Drivers and software" page at http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&DocID=DS033224# now shows  ThinkVantage System Update 5.03 for Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit), 8 (32-bit, 64-bit), 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Desktop, Notebook, Workstation
Version: 5.03.0008 ...having been released today. However, SU 5.03.0005 running on my TPT2 (Windows 8.1) does not see this update of SU. Maybe tomorrow? - rick

  • After Win 8.1 update - Lenovo System Update defective (doesn't find updates any more)

Lenovo System Update tells me that all is up to date!
I searched at Lenovo for new drivers for windows 8.1
They asked me exactly what notebook I use. For the x1 carbone 3460-4LG (checked 3 times because I couldn't believe it) they discribed my computer as:
    i7-3667U(3.2GHz), 4GB RAM, 256GB Solid State Drive, 14in 1600x900 LCD, Intel HD Graphics, Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, 4c Li-Ion, Win8 Pro 64.
My notebook has 8GB RAM, 180GB SSD and (as I believe) no carbone x1 has 1GB Ethernet, because it has no network connector at all!
So first question: can I believe the suggestions of lenovo for new drivers?
There are several drivers released in October 2013 that I surely do not have already installed.
That means, Lenovo System Update doesn't work any more, without error message!
Question two: Has Lenovo a solution to repair their defective updater? Or will they release a solution?
    Very disappointed regards.
    Alex

Another Workaroung wich could help is the Tool DriverEasy. It does scan yours system and shows you all missing Driver. The missing driver can be downloaded or directly installed.
For me it found every missing Driver on different Lenovo Modells. The only thing to use it as Full Service, is you have to buy it for i think about 30 $.

  • Program Update doesn't find anything

For example, when I select "Search for updates" in iMovie it tells me a new version is available. I have 7.1 and 7.1.1 is available. To update, iMovie opens Program Update.
Only... in Program Update, there is nothing!
I wonder how many other updates I'm missing.
Can anyone help me to sort this out?

Yeah you DEFINITELY do not want to delete everything. As Brody said, its used for repairing permissions etc. Deleting a single receipt before reinstalling something should be fine as it will allow it to show up in software update.
At this point, I'd just recommend downloading and installing it manually:

I don't want to find and download updates manualy - I need automatic updates. Searching web a lot - no answer. Please help.

    Back up all data.
Boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the Recovery desktop appears, reinstall the Mac OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac didn’t ship with Lion, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.

  • Software update unable to find update!

When I launched iPhoto, a dialog box popped up saying that ver 6.0.5 was available.
I accepted the update now option and software update launched. It searched for updates and told me that all my software was up to date.
I tried this several different ways, tried turning off automatic software update, all to no avail.
I've noticed that software update often won't find updates (it's set to check daily) but the individual software programs will (the iPhoto example is the last of several similar occurrences)
I'm forced to visit the apple software update page and manually download and install the updates.
Any ideas on why this is happening? Corrupted software update files?
    Thanks,
    Woodbarth

The solution is simple. The software I didn't install since many months (iPod updater, iSight updater, Apple Remote Desktop etc.) isn't listed any more by SU. That's why it says "no updates, all is up to date".
Don't know the objective or this change made by Apple. Maybe it's the spotlight policy:
    - Spotlight doesn't find and the user should believe the searched items don't exist on the HD... but they exist
    - SU doesn't show all updates and the user believes there are no updates available... but there are updates available ?-/

  • Windows Update won't find updates for Office 2013?

    Hi,
    I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.
I have Office 2013 Professional Plus.
Whenever I check Windows Update for updates, it never seems to bring up updates for Office.  I assume there have been at least some updates to Office 2013 since it was released?
My Windows Update screen tells me:
"You receive updates: For Windows only."
When I click the "Find out more" to get updates for other MS products, all that happens is the IE opens up on a page that says "Use your Start menu to check for updates"
So... how do I get Windows Update to check for updates to Office 2013?  I feel very confused--I mean, shouldn't I be able to set Windows Update to check for updates for a whole host of MS programs (Silverlight, .NET, Office, etc.)?
I've tried changing the Windows Update settings to include other Microsoft products but there's no option to do so when I check.
Any insight would be appreciated! Someone recommended I ask here because I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise.

  • Flash Builder 4.0.0 doesn't find updates

    Hello everybody,
As the tile reads, I can't update my Flash Builder installation (4.0.0), nor the Flex SDK version (4.0).
My system is Mac Os X 10.6.4.
I installed Flash Builder as part of the CS5 Web Premium package I bought in September 2010, and I have started studying Flex and working with FB this week. This might explain why I never noticed it hadn't updated.
This morning I noticed the existence of the 4.1 SDK version and the related FB 4.0.1 update. When I try to use the automatic FB function "Search for Flash Builder Updates...", however, the Adobe Application Manager tells me that "Your applications are up to date". :-S
I found few (really few) articles online about some sort of problem with the first release of the 4.0.1 update, but I read that I should at least see the 4.1 Flex SDK in the SDKs folder. I don't.
Now.... how can I solve this?
I guess I could trash the whole Flash Builder folder and manually reinstall it, but as I said it is part of the CS5 installation, and I'm afraid of messing things up even more.
    Can anyone help me, please?
    Cheers

    Thank you very much David.
After I posted the question above I downloaded the 4.1 SDK and "imported" it into Flash Builder. It seems to work: it builds and run in both debug and release modes, so I guess it's fine.
At first, I wasn't sure I could do this, because in the 4.0.1 release notes I read that the support for Flex SDK 4.1 was something new and just added... and therefore couldn't be used with the 4.0.0 version of FB I am using. It seems that this is not the case....
Besides, I read somewhere that some people did update, but the version number of their Flash Builder installations remained stuck at 4.0.0. Could this have happened to me too? (as I said, I become interested in Flex this week, so I could have updated it in the past months without noticing)
In your blog post you reference this article, where there is a link to an updater page. There I see a sort of "manual" updater. It doesn't say if I have to uninstall the current version of Flash Builder to use it, though. :-(
Finally, about Burrito.... isn't it a beta? Is it worth the risk (of crashes, data loss, etc)?
    Cheers,
    wW

  • Photoshop CS5 doesn't find update 12.04 when I click updates.

I currently have Photoshop CS5 12.03 loaded and when I click Help>Updates it says my applications are currently up to date.  What's up with that.  I know that there is a 12.04 because I just loaded for a friend on his computer.
I also have a second problem with the 64 bit version of Photroshop CS5.  It won't use the pen pressure with my Wacom tablet.  When you go to the dialog box for Shape Dynamics it shows a little triangle with the exclamation point inside and it says you have to have a pressure sensitive tablet to use pen pressure.  I have the lastest driver from Wacom and it also works just fine in the 32 bit version of Photoshop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem on Win 7 64 bit: no updates were found and my system was reported as up to date. I started to update manually and received a message that it was preferable to update directly from Photoshop using the application manager. I then installed the latest version of this program and then Photoshop was able to find the Ver 5.0.4 update and install it.
