Adobe Updater don't update Acrobat Pro 9.

Hello,
Adobe Updater don't update Acrobat Pro 9. It seems that Acrobat don't appears under Adobe Updater, it appears all others Creative Suite CS4 applications but not Acrobat. I dont know how to fix this. Is there any wahy to manually add Acrobat to the list of application that Adobe Updater updates?
I have two Macs, in one of them Adobe Updater updates correctlly Acrobat Pro 9, but the other have this problem that i describe above. In both machines i have Mac OS X 10.5.6.

Thank you very much for the link, i would update this way now. But i still wonder how can i fix the problem so i can use Adobe Updater with all Adobe apps. I think that Adobe Updater is very usefull because you dont have to check the website for updates of the differents apps.

If you have a Windows Domain environment in your company and domain controllers are Windows 2008/2008 R2, than you can use this Grou Policy Templates: https://sourceforge.net/projects/customadmx/
They are capable of switching auto updates off.

Adobe Presenter is bundled with Acrobat Pro

So am I to assume that the when I bought the Acrobat Pro
Extended Edition, I did not buy Adobe Presenter as well?
I called Adobe sales about my issues with unable to activate
Presenter and they forwarded me to Tech support who were clueless
as to why my serial number for Acrobat did not work for
Presenter.

Adobe Presenter is bundled with Acrobat Pro Extended . When
you install Acrobat Pro extended then install Adobe Presenter using
Menu item of Autoplay.exe .If you do that ,then you need not
activate it , it will automatically activate .
I believe you have installed Presenter directly (not via
Autoplay Menu ) and that is why it is prompting you for serial key
which is not same as Acrobat Serial key and therefore will not
accept it
I will advice you to uninstall Presenter and install it via
AutoPlay Menu . In that case it will not prompt you for serial key
I faced this problem and above solution worked for me .Tell

Critical Update 7.1 for Acrobat Pro 7

I am unable to download the Critical Update 7.1 for Acrobat 7.0. Win 8.1 starts to churn, then dies. Is there a way to get this update?

Generally updates are available from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows, but with AA7 that is not going to solve the problems you are likely having. There are some workarounds that can get you some sort of a working system possibly, but it is strongly recommended that you purchase AA XI as suggested by TSN.

Can't update re-install of Acrobat Pro 8

I've just tried to install the Acrobat Pro 8.22 patch but received the "no installer files" error. I used the MS Installer cleanup utility to remove Acrobat Pro from the installer, then reinstalled Acrobat successfully, but then when I tried to update I was told no updates are available. Since it was then at v8.0, I knew this was wrong. I uninstalled/reinstalled and was happy to see that the product would update, but it would update only as far as v8.1.3. I next downloaded all the available updates for a manual install, but when I double-click on the MSP files, instead of running the patch, all I get are a list of options. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to reset the updates so the Acrobat no longer thinks it's fully patched? Or if there's a way to repair the MSP function so I can run the MSP files and manually installl the patches?

I got nailed by that update this morning, and am currently restoring my Windows XP-SP3 system from a backup.
Look at your %SystemRoot%\Installer folder. I bet it's completely empty. It's supposed to have a lot of files and folders in it.
At first I just received that obscure "installation failed" message that the Updater throws up (by the way, Updater looks a little different this time around, doesn't it?) After an hour or so of working on the PC a few desktop icons for installed programs went blank, looking like a white box with a blue bar on top of the box. I tried seaching for the icon and was getting messages about %SystemRoot%\Installer\{<some long alphanumeric directory>} not found.
I looked in the %SystemRoot%\Installer folder and it was completely empty.
I booted up a backup hard drive I had been on a couple of weeks ago (I recently migrated to a SSD drive) and looked at %SystemRoot%\Installer and it was full of folders and files. A few minutes later the Updater told me I should apply the update. I did, it failed. I looked into %SystemRoot%\Installer again and it was completely empty.
I'm now restoring from a backup of that hard drive, which I made in case my foray into SSD drives didn't work out.

How do you save a pdf to Adobe Document Cloud from within Acrobat Pro DC?

I have a full Creative Cloud account so I now have the updated Acrobat Pro DC for both my pc and my iPhone.
On my iPhone, when I opened a pdf I was given the option to save the file to Document Cloud. But on the PC, how do I open this file or others on Document Cloud, and how do I save a file to Document Cloud?

Doc Signing disabled in adobe reader but enabled in Acrobat Pro X1

I have used Acrobat Pro X1 Trial to create a PDF document with a Signature field. When I view the Properties and Security of the doc I can see that Signing - Is Allowed.
When I open the same document in Adobe Reader X the document security properties allow form fill & printing but not signing.

This tutorial shows how to change settings using Acrobat Pro 10. The same File Save As options are not available in X1. Am I missing something in Acrobat Pro X1?

Hi Tim,
There are a couple of things at play here.
First, adding a digital signature is always allowed in Acrobat, but only allowed in Reader if the PDF file has been Reader enabled for signing. To use Acrobat XI to Reader Enable a PDF file for signing you would:
Select the File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools menu item
Click the Save Now button on the Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader dialog
Select a file name and location, and then click the Save button on the Save As dialog
That would allow the file to be signed when opened in Reader.
However, I did mention that there are two items of consideration. If you are using a Pre-release (beta) version of Acrobat then signing will not work in a release version of Acrobat or Reader. When you said you are using a "trial" version I just want to make sure you mean the released version of Acrobat XI being run under the trial license where you don't have a serial number as opposed to a beta version that made available prior to the release date.

Interactive button in PDF file doesn't work with Adobe Reader for Mac nor Acrobat Pro

Hello!
I've to use a interactive form which has an interactive button that is supposed to send that form by email. If I open that PDF with my iPhone or iPad with the PDF Expert App, it works perfectly, but for any strange reason, when I try to open that same PDF in my Mac with Adobe Reader or Acrobat pro, that button doesn't do anything.
Can this be a configuration error?

The problem is deeper than that. It's not reader. Now the same form I was creating in LifeCycle Designer ES2 yesterday, with the actions working perfectly, no longer work. None of the actions are working.
Could it be realted to me trying to set the default version compatibility to Adobe 7. It gave me warnings, so I set it back to 9.
Any help would be appreciated.

Mac OS X 10.7.5 Adobe license agreement issue for Acrobat Pro

Acrobat Pro keeps popping up the License agreement whenever I try to use it. Even viewing pdf documents that already exist doesn't work. I've tried all the usual fixes including the Deactivate a different program. This didn't work either. I got Acrobat Pro as part of the CS6 suite offered to academic staff via a university agreement. Can you help?

How to create saveable forms for Adobe Reader 6.0 using Acrobat Pro 9?

What are the steps to convert a Reader Extended PDF forms version 1.6 (Reader 7) to version 1.5 (Reader 6)?

Live update don't update BIOS!

Hello
Have anybody experienced problems with Live update and the BIOS for MEGA 865?
I only get the message "Your current version was updated and optimized".
I had to flash the BIOS from 1.00 to 1.20 manually when i first got the computer. My other machine running a regular MB from MSI has no trouble with Live update and BIOS updates?

Cannot update new install of Acrobat Pro 9

After installing a trial version of CS5.5 Master collection (which included Acrobat 10), my purchased Acrobat 9 Pro was removed (or otherwise hidden) from my machine. After evaluating the different software choices in the master collection, I uninstalled the entire suite and installed my newly purchased production pro suite. Since production pro does not include Acrobat, I re-installed my purchased copy of Acrobat 9 Pro. Since it was installed from the installation DVD, updates are necessary. Everytime I try to update Acrobat 9 pro, I get the following error: "Adobe Updater Install Manager has stopped working". Also, everytime I open my outlook 2010 client, it crashes and recommends that I disable the pdf plug in from Adobe (which I have now disabled). I've looked over the internet and could not find a solution to the problem. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Please give the following steps a try after a fresh restart of your system:
Repair your current Acrobat 9 installation via Help > Repair Acrobat Installation
Try to update Acrobat via Help > Check for Updates.
If the update fails, try to manually apply the Acrobat 9.1 update via direct download here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4375
Assuming the Acrobat 9.1 update successfully installs, please try continuing to update Acrobat all the way to 9.5 via Help > Check for Updates.
Please let me know how it goes and if the issue with Outlook clears up too.

When i install the latest update 10th january my Acrobat pro 9.0 extended stop working

i have tried 3 times and each time same result , when i subsequently try to launch The acrobat a pop up window says windows is trying to find solution. aftar that i activate restore point prior to that installation , anyone experienced same and know the solution --- consequently i am getting worried about the updates from Adobe, and prior i just accepted all revcommended --- regards hope someone can help me Povl

Have you tried removing Acrobat and reinstalling? You might also want to post your inquiry to the Adobe Acrobat forum as they are more familiar with issues around updates.

Typedef updates don't update callers when using save as

I have a typedef that holds configuration data for my system...this typedef is used by many VIs in my application.
This typedef will change over time as I add/delete configuration parameters, but I would also like to retain old versions of the typedef so that I can retrieve old configuration information.
I accomplish this by always using "Save As" whenever I update the typedef, and saving new versions with a different name. For example:
ConfigData_v1.ctl
ConfigData_v2.ctl
ConfigData_v3.ctl
What I expect to happen is that I can open up a current version of the typedef (let's say ConfigData_v1.ctl), make changes, then select "Save As"...I do *not* check the "Save a copy without updating callers" checkbox because I *do* want all callers to now point to the new typedef that I will be saving as ConfigData_v2.ctl.
I've noticed, however, that if I start LabVIEW and first open up ConfigData_v1.ctl, make the changes, select "Save As" (not checking "...updating callers..."), and then close ConfigData_v2.ctl (which was opened as ConfigData_v1.ctl)...when I open any of the VIs that use(d) the ConfigData_v1.ctl typedef, they have not been updated to point to ConfigData_v2.ctl.
Is this because VIs which use ConfigData_v1.ctl were not loaded into memory at the time when I made the change to the typedef? Strange.

BTW, if you're curious about how the data is managed, I have written a VI that pulls in data that conforms to an old version of the typedef and extracts the data into a new version of the typedef. This allows me to update my configuration typedef and propagate any saved values from old to new.
