Adobe Updater not working for CS4

I have installed CS4 Master Collection on a new Windows 7 PC and it is working, but Adobe Updater isn't working properly. It first installed a few updates that were correct, but now it can't find the remaining updates (which I know exist).
The message is "Please note that some updates for the following products cannot be determined at this time," and then it lists most of the products.
I know that CS4 isn't supported any more, but I would have expected Adobe Updater to at least apply the remaining available patches.
I found another thread where it suggested the updates shown depend on the system clock. (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/913379). I set it to earlier and it briefly found the updates, but it seems to cause Adobe Updater to become unstable, so that hasn't worked for me. There was a suggestion that the Adobe certificate may be out of date (thus the System Clock fix works for some), perhaps Adobe needs to update its certificates?
How can I get Adobe Updater to apply remaining patches? Thanks.

    I installed PSE 8 on my laptop and every time I click on "Updates" I get the following error message:
    "The update server is not responding, which means it might be offlie at the moment, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect."
    I also have Adobe Reader 9 installed on the same computer and the update function works fine for it.
    I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium and Norton Internet Security.
    I have the same OS and Norton on my desktop computer with PSE 7 and the update function in it works fine.

  • Fresh CS4 install, adobe updater not working. How do I install updates?

    I just re-installed the CS4 suite (except Acrobat) on my mini after getting that 30:150 "license not working" error. My license now appears to be working and I can open the applications. I'd like to apply update patches, but Updater is not working. Should I go out and install Updater 6.2? I have seen others on this forum told to update manually instead; I started that process but got spooked when the files I downloaded didn't seem to match Adobe's installation instructions. Specifically, the instructions say to click "adobe photoshop updater," but the downloaded file is "setup.app." Is this the correct app to open? And if it is, should my first update be the 11.0.1 /multiple languages? Thanks!

    thanks for the quick reply, Ned. Can you tell me whether opening setup.app is the correct way to apply the update? As I mentioned above, that didn't seem to jibe with Adobe's instructions.

    Try this ....
    Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
    Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
    Not empty the Safari cache.
    From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
    Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
    Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
    Try a Flash based video.

    Has any got the Javafx plugin working for Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended?
    I added a new plugin directory to CS4 (Edit -> Prefderences -> PLugin ) , restarted - but i dont see javafx option when I try to save the file.
    If not, does anyone have a link to download CS3? so I can try on installing javafx plugin CS3

  • Adobe updater not working

    On OSX I have an Adobe Cloud ion on the menu bar. I have had it running a few weeks with various apps installed. 2 weeks ago Adobe Encoder said it needed to update and now Indesign. However when I click Update it goes through the down load and instal and completes saying now updated. The next day it reappears as if it hasn't happened. What's going on with this? Any ideas please? Thanks!

    Put in your OSX disc or the one which came with your Mac
    (which ever is newer). Then start the installer by selecting your
    language. At the top you will see a menu for Utilities. Click on
    the Disk Utility. Then run repair permissions. Then quit the
    installer and boot back into OSX.
    If this does not work it *may* be a corrupt file in your
    profile. Unfortunately, those are not worth the effort to fix and
    it would probably be to your benefit to create a new account and
    transfer over some of the user Library files (like Keychains and
    Preferences).

  • Adobe Updater not working and/or removing the Icon from a MacBook Pro?

    I purchased CS5 -Design standard for my MacBook Pro a few years ago and have never had a problem until recently. I put a new hard drive into my laptop and reinstalled everything. CS5 programs run fine when I'm using them. Now all of a sudden, I'm getting an icon on my top MAC menu bar from Adobe Updater saying I need to update all of my programs. It will not go away. I follow all the steps, it completes the download then says there are errors and the downloads cannot be completed, to close and try again. I've done this 5 times over 2 weeks with no luck. If there are updates I'd really like to install them or just shut the updater down so that I can't see the icon on my menu bar.
    It does not give me an option to enter serial numbers from the CS5 I purchased or to just close the thing and move on with my life. What do I do? All this is running on a MacBook Pro, CS5-Design standard.

    Now all of the updates are errors downloading- with no options but to close and try again.

    Recently I Got Updated to Firmware V50.005,
    After Upgrading, SW Update is not working & not at all showing any updates, like it was previously showing update of Mail for Exchange & Nokia Messaging. Also It was showing some Python Updates

    got the same prob here, python is not installed and no software updates are shown, guess this new firmware has a lot of bugs...

  • Time Capsule update not working for a few MAC addresses

    Whenever I update the Timed Access Schedule list of MAC addresses, some of the Wireless MAC Addresses I include go back to unlimited access ("Everyday" "all day") after a while.
    In other words, the "update" list configuration is accepted and works for some time; but the filter applied to some of the MAC addresses simply stop working after a while; therefore, those MAC addresses go back to the status of unrestricted access.
    This is happening consistently and I am not being able to program some MAC addresses in my local network to follow the schedule I wish (i.e., accessing the network only within previously specified.
    Has anyone experienced such a problem? Is that a bug? Any hints on how to solve this?

    If you restart the TC does it work again?
    Check the connectivity leds on both ends if possible.. certainly each port on the TC has small, micro small LED.. is it green when you are plugged in??
    You will need to connect a computer and attempt to ping the TC.. see if it passes packets.
    How old is the TC? The model number from the rubber foot please.. A1xxx
    And also if you can check the log from a computer if there are any issues.

  • Defer Panel Updates not working for XY graph

    I am using an XY Graph in Labview 8.2.  I am making a lot of color changes and want to improve execution time by defering the panel updates while changing the colors.  I set the VI/Panel/DeferPanelUpdates to true and do the updates.  I can see the other controls on the panel are deferred, but the XY graph continues to redraw.  I can't see a way to defer the updates separately to the XY Graph.
    I am only doing the defers for the color changes, if I defer the initial data input the color changes throw an error,

    How about this for a work-around?
    After defering the FP update, set the graph invisable then set the plot colors.
    Prior to undefering, set the graph visable.
    This works for me. Does it help your application?

    Keep in mind that we are not in the room with you. We can't help if you don't give any information and since we are volunteers, most of us don't have time to play 20 questions with you.
    So please, at the very least, could you answer the questions I asked. And it would be even better if you can give any other information that might be helpful for us.

  • Check for update not working for Patch 2???

    I am running 1.0.0.14.67. When I run the Check For Update command it says there are no updates available even though Patch 2 is now on the OTN site. Is there anything I can try other than downloading the whole new zip and migrating my install?
    Previously I have successfully used the update centre to install new patches for the various extensions, so I don't think it's a problem with my firewall settings.

    Ok - one other thing. If you run check for updates, then the front "Help > About " will not change. So this will still show 1.0.0.14.67, but the Extensions tab will change. Can you just confirm that? Check out the screen shot in this FAQ. So the various extensions will show the 15.57 updates if patch 2 is already installed.
    As far as I'm aware we do not have the patch set available as a separate bundle. I'll have to wake to for Kris to get in (west coast) before we can check that.

    I'm a Logic Studio customer. The 3.0.2 update isn't working from Software Update. I've tried to download the installation file separately, but it looks like you need a Final Cut Studio SN to download. Compressor is part of Logic Studio, so we need to be able to update also - without relying on Software Update. Thanks guys

    I was thinking it might be a good idea to delete and re install the iMovie and iPhoto applications from the Mac App store.
    First find the apps in your Applications folder in finder, and move them to the trash and restart your computer.
    Then use this article to re download them from the Mac App Store.

    As far as I can see Apple doesn't have to fix anything with Software Update because it is working perfectly for myself and the users I help to support.
    So maybe if you can give us more details; such as what error messages are you getting, what have you done so far to solve this problem.

  • Adobe Elements not working for Photo Sync

    I purchased Adboe Photoshop Elements 6.0 for the sole purpose of not having to sync my photos via Windows iTunes 7.4 using only top level directory names. I've been some albums in Elements however when I go into iTunes and select the Sync Photos, the pulldown for location only has the Pictures directory of Folder selection.
    How do I see the Element Albums that I created?

    I don't think iTunes supports Photoshop Elements 6 yet -- it was just released a few days ago. I was using PSE 5 with iTunes/AppleTV quite successfully, but when I upgraded to PSE 6, no albums show up in iTunes to sync.
