Adobe Updates with Yosemite

I updated my operating system to Yosemite. I have Adobe Creative Suite CS5, Photoshop and Illustrator updated with no problem. But now I am trying to use After Effects and it crashes few seconds after it opens. I've tried several times to open the update but it says:
Update Failed
-updates could not be applied
This patch is not applicable for you. Please check for updates from the Help menu in your product to see a list of latest updates available.
If the problem persists, contact customer support for further assistance.
I don't know what else to do to get the update running. I have deadlines to fulfill but haven't been able to start the project. What are my options?
Thanks!
Laura

What exact update are you trying to apply?
After Effects CS5 is not supported on Mac OSX v10.10 (Yosemite).

  • Muse recently updated with Yosemite Update web fonts not working

I recently updated my OS to Yosemite at work, but not at home. a site that was using font awesome that was working/previewing/exporting/uploaded and functioning fine is now not showing font awesome icons. I didn't upload to the server because even though it previews in Muse fine, they are not shown on export. Even the template files that are the original HTML files (included with the muse template) are not showing the web fonts. I thought it was the operating system but when drop boxed to my computer at home and checked there (Mountain lion OS) It still doesn't show.
I'm not understanding where the issue is. Any thoughts?
Work version is 2014.2, unclear about home version- could possibly not be that update, I think I installed in November. I didn't have any problems with this file since updating to Yosemite at work. Although never went through a final HTML export so I suppose it could have been doing it for the last few weeks I have been working on this site.
    Thanks!

From the screen shot, I expect you're on Windows and have ClearType turned on (on is the default OS setting). The top text is drawn using Adobe's technology. The bottom would be drawn with ClearType. Microsoft's ClearType technology is one of several font anti-aliasing techniques. ClearType's approach is strongly biased toward making vertical stems appear smooth and of consistent width at the expensive of having horizontal portions of text appear less smooth. If you turn off ClearType on your computer the text will be rendered differently.
Each operating system has it's own approach to drawing text, and in fact both Windows and Mac have multiple approaches. Windows adds numerous end user controls on top of that. And each browser has the freedom to implement different rendering as well. There's nothing under the control of a website authoring tool that can cause live text to have an identical rendering when rendered by different browsers or operating systems.
This is one of the limitations of the web medium.
Cross browser compatibility generally refers to the large category of issues where a browser, or browser version, entirely lacks support for various features of HTML/CSS, implements those features differently from other browsers, or has bugs such that various features either don't function correctly or don't function consistently. Muse contains hundreds of pieces of code to compensate for these idiosyncracies between browsers.

  • Safari and other apps haven't seemed to update with Yosemite

I have updated to Yosemite on my late-2011 13-inch macbook. The software seems to be installed, i.e. the app store says it is and iTunes has changed icons, etc. but many of my apps have remained the same. Safari and messages, for example, have not changed at all.
Is there any logical reason for this? How can I resolve it?
Thanks to all you geniuses out there! I am struggling to solve this one.

    Hi again,
That means you didn't update to Yosemite yet. Maybe you've downloaded it, so now you have to go to your Applications folder and double click the "Install OS X Yosemite" icon.
Follow the instructions and you'll be done.
But before you do it, backup your Mac and repair disc permissions.
    Cheers.

  • Can't download updates with Yosemite

I can't download the updates iPhoto and Garage Band from the App store after I have installed Yosemite. I have a MacBook Pro. I get "an error has occurred" when I attempt the download

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Adobe Updaterの不具合[CS3 / yosemite]

    iMac(OS X.10)にCS3(CreativeSuite WebPremium)をインストールしておりますが、

  • Hdmi compatibility with yosemite

Is it possible that the yosemite update would not allow an hdmi adapter to work on my macbook pro (2012)? Because when we use the adapter on my boyfriends macbook it would work and his laptop wasn't updated with yosemite.

My CS5, everything the suite works on Yosemite, the latest Java Runtime will be required, that's a simple free upgrade.
However, for me personally it is running EXTREMELY sluggish! PS is ok at first, but after 15, 20 minutes simple things like selection tool, switching to another layer, clone brush.
Then erasing..I'll erase something...I get the rainbow spinning wheel for 5, 10 seconds then It shows what I erased, then CTRL+Z to undo and then redo. It lags. not fun!
Not sure..I've read forums where people are ok with Adobe programs, others state the same issues like I am having, Sucks the RAM dry and I have 12GB of it  Tweaked the cache and scratch disc settings and no improvements.
Depends on how old the Mac is, mine is a mid 2011 iMac 27in. It ran so amazing in SnowLeopard, Lion. Mavericks, I noticed a slight lag but nothing horrific that annoyed me to no end.
    Now. eh.

    Hello Mike,
Thank you very much for the link, i would update this way now. But i still wonder how can i fix the problem so i can use Adobe Updater with all Adobe apps. I think that Adobe Updater is very usefull because you dont have to check the website for updates of the differents apps.
    Thanks a lot,

  • Download Adobe Flash update on Mac with Yosemite

I am attempting to install the Adobe Flash update on my Mac Book Pro with Yosemite.  On every attempt the download bar stops at 30%.  I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstall it and I get the same result.  I would appreciate help in resolving this issue.

I just downloaded the installer... took all of 3 seconds to download.  It's only a 1.2MB file.
Check to see if it has downloaded it anyways.  Should see something like AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_17au_Itrosxd_aaa_aih.dmg if it's there, quit Safari from the menu bar, run the installer.
If it's not there, try a different browser.  If that works, it's something in your Safari that's stopping it... could be an extension you have installed or adware.
You can also try a direct download from the Adobe site: (Under still having problems)

  • I can't place images from Photos into InDesign since updating to Yosemite 10.10.3. Is this an Apple issue or an Adobe one?

I can't place images from Photos into InDesign since updating to Yosemite 10.10.3. Is this an Apple issue or an Adobe one? It used to be a simple process with iPhoto but not anymore.

Thanks Steve. I should have mentioned that I’m still using CS6. Wonder if that’s the difference? All I get in the sidebar is Photo Booth which is useless.

  • Adobe Updates not downloading - available but "try again later" error with link to "serial number not qualifying"

I just upgraded computers (PC w/Windows 8 64 bit) and I did a fresh install of my copy of Adobe Photoshop CS5 (along with Bridge and Camera Raw).
The install asked for serial numbers which I provided and the installation was a success - however, I can not view full resolution images, only thumbs
in Bridge and I can not open RAW files from my Canon 5D Mark III (though, I can my files with the older Canon 7D).  I WAS able to view and work with
the newer RAW files on the older computer.
Under "Help", "Updates", it says they are available but after appearing to upload to my computers, I get this:
      Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.5 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
      Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
There is then a link to customer service which brings me to this:
    Creative Cloud Help /
Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product" | CS6, CS5.5, CS5
What gives?  It was a qualifying product a few months back.  Even if Adobe stopped supporting CS5 (???), I should still have access to past updates
that I had already once received.
I tried 3 times in 1 hour - no luck in getting back to a state I was in only yesterday, and months earlier.
    /Mitch

Apparently, Adobe has very little interest in it's past customers unless they shell out more cash.
I have never seen such a move as this - to REMOVE support and older update links off the Web in an effort to force an upgrade.
My tech support stated (after first stating I was simply out of luck) that he was graciously allowed to make an exception and provided me with a link to support that is strangely
hidden and /or removed from public access.
    Here is that link:

  • Updated to Yosemite a few weeks ago and I'm now being confronted with a plug-in error message when loading illustrator. Not sure what to do.

this is a screen grab of the plug in errors.
Any body know how to fix this????

Did you reinstall your AI from the original disks or a clean download after updating to Yosemite? Adobe products don't take kindly to migration or in place updates of the OS.

  • Adobe Update Ran, Now PP CS4 No Longer Works with MPEG Files & More....

I think I know what this is but I thought I would make sure.
(Running CS4 Master Suite in Windows 7 Home Premium with 16GB Ram, i970 processor and six short stroked drives for cache, files, etc.)
Last night Adobe Updater popped up and wanted to do some installs. I had already been editing a project usine PrPro and AE for several hours so called it a night and initiated updater. This morning PrPro no longer recognizes my MPEG source files! Niether does AE or ME. In PrPro it hangs on "conforming." Did I get hit with the Revert to Trial bug? Could it be something else?
What I have done: cleared all cache files, rebooted, checked cache settings, rebooted, wiped deleted cache files, rebooted, cursed.

    Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like the Revert to Trial Bug. See this ARTICLE for details and the fix.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
