Adobe upgrade error : The upgrade patch cannot be installed..."
Hi,
I work in an office and while I was trying to patch up some computers that have Adobe 7.0 Pro (others have 8.0 Pro), I received the following message
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by windows installer service because the program to be updated may be missing, or the update patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be updated exists on your computer and that you have the correct update patch"
I would like to mention that I used the check for update option and did not manually download the patches. Also, this problem seemed to occur on computers where adobe was not registered...
Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
Be sure to install the updates in order from the current version, unless the info on the update says otherwise. The updates are available on the download>updates part of the Adobe site, with comments of order.

I get the error The iphoto update cannot be installed.
It then says... The file “iLifeSlideshow_v2.pkg” couldn’t be found on the server “swcdn.apple.com”. What should I do?
Hi All
I have a mini mac (G4 PPC) bought second-hand last July. It came with iLife pre-installed and all the built in apps worked fine. Recently, I found the video ones refused to launch, but iPhoto and iTunes (which I use all the while) caused no problems.
Until now!
Although iTunes still appears to work, iPhoto has started crashing on launch as described by others here.
Like another respondant, I tried repairing disk privilages, etc to no avail. I then created an extra user (normally I'm sole user and adminstrator) and finally, starting at a vacant destop) tried running it again. This time it also crashed, but asked if I wanted to retry and than it suceeded with an empty library.
Having switched back to my normal account however, the same old problem re-occurs. Have also tried to opt/apple keys trick and it happlity rebuilt the various options. Then crashed again!
Has anyone got any more ideas? I need it working with my regular library.
I'd also like to get iMovie working to make some video podcasts and as part of iLife maybe the problems are related. -
trying to install an update patch for Citrix xendesktop 7.5 and the error when I click on the msi patch is "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch
may update a different version of the program"
The application was installed 2 days prior and works fine but the patch will not install.
Any ideas?
Wendy2014Yes let's see if there is any error occurs in installation log.
Meanwhile from the error message, the possible cause is that a part of the application is missing such as a registry key with app version. In this situation you can first test to reinstall/repair the application though it is still working fine - see if issue
persists after reinstall the app.
Meanwhile you could also contact Citrix about this issue. It may be a common issue and Citrix may provide a quick fix for it.

Adobe reader error when upgrading from 9.4 to 9.4.5
I need to do the upgrade manually, and not the auto upgrade direct from adobe. When we have adobe
9.4 on the PC and do the upgrade to 9.4.5 I get this error.
Windows installer window comes up with this:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that have the correct upgrade patch."
The patch and the Adobe versions are all correct, I think it's something in the MSI file ???
Any suggestions???
Thanks
PaulIn addition, if you are talking about Reader, not Acrobat, then you need to install the appropriate updates for Reader. For Acrobat you can go to Help>Check for updates and try that. You may have to repeat it. If you are doing a manual update, then you need to go to the updatte page in the download portion of the Adobe site and download all subnumbers after the one you currently have and install them in order. Be sure to use the Reader or Acrobat updates as appropriate, they are not the same product. There is no product named Adobe 9. Adobe is the company and the products are Acrobat 9 or Reader 9. It is not clear which you have.

"Upgrade patch cannot be installed...." for Acrobat Pro 7.05
Hello
I have downloaded the Acrobat Professional 7.05 update patch (for Windows). According to the website, this patch will update all 7.0 and higher versions. However, when I run the update, I get the following message:
"This upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may upgrade to a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be updated exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."
I do have Acrobat Professional 7.0 installed, and according to the Adobe website, the 7.05 patch is the correct one. Yet, I cannot install it. Is there some step I am missing here?
Any help would be appreciated.

GE MultilinYou did not indicate the version you currently have installed. I generally just download all of the updates and install them in order. It is not always clear what versions are covered. In your case, it indicates that the update of 7.0.5 does cover all of the 7.0.1 to 7.0.3 updates. However, there are both Std and Pro updates. Did you download the correct one. To use the update you downloaded, you have to have one of 7.0.0 to 7.0.3 Pro installed. Is that indeed the case, or do you possibly have either a different version or Std installed? I.E., in the help menu what version does the about Acrobat tell you that is being run?

I-Photo won't open even though I have upgraded to OS X Yosemite and downloaded the I-Photo upgrader. The upgrades indicate they were successful but I still get an error message when I try to open I-Photo telling me I need to prepare the library
I-Photo won't open even though I have upgraded to OS X Yosemite and downloaded the I-Photo upgrader.
But have you run the the iPhoto Library upgrader? It is installed in Applications > Utilities. Launch it and direct it to your iPhoto library.
Which version of iPhoto did you upgrade from?
The upgrader is only necessary, if you have been running iPhoto7.1.2 or earlier. -

Crystal Report error - "the group section cannot be printed..."
Hello to everyone.
I have a CR report based on a database view.
Everything is ok when i run the report in the CR designer but choosing the option to preview the report or run it from the SAP Business One (8.81 PL 08) i get an error:
"the group section cannot be printed because its condition field is nonexistent or invalid. Format the section to choose another condition field. Error in file "the Report name".rpt. Invalid group condition".
i must say that this happens in all my reports where i have group data. Also i must say that all those reports were ok some days before...
Is there a way for me to know what field is it refering to?
I have verified the DB and it is pointing correctly and the also the View returns data.
Thanks in advanceHello Gordon,
thanks for your response. the reports were working fine until 8.81 PL05
We have upgraded the customer from PL05 - > PL08 a week ago.
Do you think that maybe this is the problem?
Thanks in advance -

Hi!
I am getting the error:
"The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition. The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Jounraled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
I read up some on google, but all of them says that they have crated a partition and that is the problem, I only have the standard "Macintosh HD".
I tried to create a partition manually in disk utility but then the error message: "Partition failed with error message: Could not unmount disk."
Can anyone help me? It's driving me crazy.
Thanks. This message, and threads like yours got asked daily for over two years, now it is only a couple times a week!!
Is it so hard to follow through? you were to have backup already, clones are best, then erase/format and restore.
Then partition.
Some have been able to use Disk Utility booted from OS X DVD or another drive, and repair the drive.
You have to use Boot Camp Assistant (99.9% anyway) to create and achieve a proper Windows Master Boot Record partition. -
"Time machine error, The disk image cannot be mounted" What can I do??
I ran the time machine. Then, "preparing backup" showed up for a long time. After that, a window pop out: "Time machine error, The disk image cannot be mounted" What is disk image? What can I do (I can't back up anything)
P.S. I use time capsule for backup. there were no problem on connectionI'm having the same issue. I do not have TC as my base station. It says right in the book that if you choose, you do not have to have it run as your router, just as a part of your existing wireless network. All software is up to date and I have already shortened the name of both my TC and TC disc to 6 characters and no spaces! I've already spoken with someone today about this. He really didn't know. Have tried backing up both wirelessly and directly connecting with an Ethernet cord. I had to finally call because when I attempted to register the product to get online support, apple.com didn't recognize the serial number!!! The gentleman on the phone got it registered for me. I bought the TC from an official apple store and for whatever reason when he put in the serial number his computer said that this TC was so "old" I guess that there was technically "no support." That basically means that even though my parents just purchased this for me a week before Christmas, that it was made a year ago and the warranty is not good?? I need to do more research on that. Right now I am very unhappy about this. I am a firm apple user and have been for years, but this is frustrating.
I had read somewhere else (not sure I've been searching apple for what seems like forever now) to make sure that the TC was showing up in "devices" of the Finder. Mine doesn't show up there, but rather in the "Network" window. Is this an issue? If it is, can anyone tell me how to fix that. I have Time Machine backing up to my TC, so I do not see why it would be.
UPDATE: I just opened up my TC on the "Shared" section of the Finder window and deleted the old "sparsebundle" (I had no clue that anything had backed up way back at 3:30pm on Dec 29) and now I get a slightly new message: Time Machine Error: The backup disc image could not be created." So now the word "mounted" is replaced with "created." This error showed up a lot sooner than the original one. Ok, no clue. I am going to try to Change the Disc again, and try again. I will post another update.

AcrobatUpd11009.msp patch cannot be installed
Hello all,
Another month, another Adobe patching headache! So I have read the Enterprise Administration guide many times, and I have been deploying and patching Adobe Flash,Reader and Acrobat for years now. Usually it goes smoothly, but eventually I always run into an issue. This time my problem is this:
Last month, I created a new Acrobat XI AIP from the bas 11.0 media. I patched this AIP to 11.0.07 (quarterly)
I then installed Acrobat on many clients using the command line option 'PATCH=AcrobatSecUpd11008.msp' to "chain" the OOC patch into my install, without actually applying the OOC to my AIP.
Today, when I try to apply the AcrobatUpd11009.msp to these same clients, I am getting the error in the log file: "PATCH SEQUENCER: minor upgrade patch \\server\share\AcrobatUpd11009.msp is not applicable."And error in GUI: "The upgrade cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade".
Can someone out there tell me what I did wrong here? I believe I can uninstall 11.0.08 then run a full install of 11.0.09 from a new AIP, but that seems unnecessary.
Thanks in advance!Still no answer on this? We have the same problem on all our computers. Seem that after installing 11.08 update, something isn't updated because the 11.09 patch thinks it is still 11.07. (yes, going to help/about shows version 11.08)
Here's what the patch spits out with the /lv switch:
