Adobe Viewer issue

I have been experiencing of redownloading my folios each time I open Adobe viewer. Is this a known issue? My clients are experiencing the same thing.

We had this problem as well. Our workaround was to avoid special character in the publication name of the folio. This isn't perfect because our third month (märz) has a special character in it and our most current issue is from märz (march). But it was a fast fix.

HTML Article performance issues in Adobe Viewer on iPad

I have created a HTML Article using DPS but when I come to view it on Adobe Viewer in iPad the content does not scroll smoothly and the content is cut off and cropped (the whole page is not displayed), it is very judery and struggles to render the HTML below 'the fold' so to speak.
I have tried both options for importing HTML into DPS and both have the same performance/lag isuues.
I have a video in my HTML that seemed to be causing an issue where the video streaming was struggling to be pulled through, so I have treid YouTube and Vimeo video streaming and the performance/display issue is not resolved. I then tried embbeding an mp4 directly using HTML5 to see if it was a connection/bandwidth issue and the problem still exists. However the videos do play, its just the fact that the container is cropped in half.
Sometimes the whole HTML article renders but then when you swipe back up the page it struggles to render the content above? Also then when you swipe back down the page the content is also cropped that was visible before?
I have reviewed every available discussion on the Adobe Community and other resources but all the fixes mentioned do not have any effect.
If anybody can assist or has been experiencing the same issues any advise would be welcome.
Oh, the HTML Article contains some JS too, it does function correctly but I was wondering if JS causes problems? Just a thought.

Well, I think I may have found the answer so I thought I would share with the Community incase anyone else experiences the same type of issues.
After testing another peice of HTML that also included video streaming and heavy JavaScript, I narrowed the issue down to my JS. I had two Nivo Slider Carousels that were the route of the performance issues.
The other test HTML Article scrolls smoothly and the video pulls in as intended, although once in a while there is a slight delay in the page scrolling up and down but this is hardly noticeable.
I hope this may be of some help to other's in the future?

Can Adobe Viewer only show free issues?

I have noticed I can only access free issues in Adobe Viewer. Is this a limitation, or only a result of us using a custom sprint20 build?
We would really like having the option to access non-free issues, because we have paid content-only.

You can't see private content in the development app. By the way, you should avoid using the Private and Retail together. That folio won't show up anywhere. Unpublish the folio, and then republish again with Public and Retail selected. You'll be able to see that folio in your development app. It won't appear in the store version of the app until Apple approves the in-app purchase.

Viewing issues with Adobe Acrobat Professional 8

We have Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 installed, and we are having some issues when viewing pdf documents. Once a Word document is converted to a pdf document, some of the hyperlinks are appearing thicker (almost bold) than others, and some of the text appears lighter/darker than the rest of the text. There is no pattern to this, it is all very random.
When we print the pdf document, everything looks correct, so this only happening when we view the document on the computer.
Can anyone provide a suggestion on how to fix this issue?

Hi Bill,
I am attaching screen shots of 1) a page where the hyperlinks appear thicker and 2) the document properties pages showing the fonts.
We have tried creating it with both the Adobe PDF Maker and the MS PDF tool and it happens using both. I am thinking that this really is a viewing issue, because it prints out fine. Also, it looks the same no matter what the zoom setting is.
Please let me know if you have any other advice.

Adobe Viewer Login issues

I am havig problems loging into the adobe viewer app on my ipad. I am being given the message 'authentication failed'. I can however login to the general adobe app. Any ideas please guys?

Folio issue - not showing in Adobe Viewer iPad 1

I have a Folio created at 1024 x 768. It is loaded through the Folio Builder and everything is filled on in the Folio Producer.
When I log into the Adobe Viewer on an iPad 1, it does not show up.
My Adobe Viewer is up-to-date.
The Folio is created for Viewer 20.
Our Branded Viewer is updated to Viewer 20.
I also have another version uploaded at 2048 x 1536, it shows up in the Adobe Viewer on iPad 3.
Anyone have any ideas why is will not show on an iPad 1?

I am not sure exactly what happened. One of the articles imported, but it wqas scaled down 50%. Due to the size difference it would not load to the Viewer.
Reloading into the Folio did not work. I created another Folio with that article, loaded it. Then I copied from one folio to another in the Folio Producer.
Go figure?

Still having trouble with Adobe Viewer

I'm still having the issue that when I have multi state objects, (state 1 is off the page, state 2 is on the page) the hidden state (state 2) is showing up on the iPad Adobe Viewer when you click the |||| icon from the menu in the upper left corner. In the overlay creator panel 'tap to play/pause' is not checked. 'Cross Fade' and 'Hide before playing' are checked.
Any help would be appreciated!! thank you!

What I was able to determine: In the Oject States where all the states are listed. The State where there is no object in view needs to be listed first. (doesn't matter what state number it is, just needs to be first in the list) When I did this for all my MSO's there was no viewing problems!! Thanks for leading me down the right path. much appreciated!

Folio is uploaded in the server but I cannot see it in my Adobe Viewer

My folio is uploaded in the server but I cannot see it in my Adobe Viewer in my iPad, any idea guys how to be able to see it in my Viewer?

There are some bugs that can cause this issue. If you are adding long, smooth scrolling pages (ie 1024x3000) and performing a "New" to add the page from the Folio Builder Panel versus using the "Import" command, this issue can be caused.
As the previous posted said, you need to either have all horizontal, all vertical, or all horizontal and all vertical pages. You cannot have a mix of both. If there is a fundamental error with your folio, it iwll not be available in the viewer.

Adobe Viewer App ipad Bug?

I use the Adobe Viewer App on an ipad4. After the latest update the folios which i download and view are fe. after an hour away when i put the ipad an standby. I always have to download the issues again. But if i go to the settings/delete issues it shows still the downloaded issues.
Any solution?

This is a known issue in the current release of the content viewer. It will be addressed with an update next week.

Adobe Viewer Bug

It looks like there is still a bug in the newest Adobe Viewer. If you completely close the app Adobe Viewer on an ipad (that means no background-running) you will lose all the downloaded issus. But if you go to remove issues in the app it still shows the downloaded issus.
Any idears?!

As a Realtor I can't access documents on our ARMLS web site, the tech support say it is an adobe reader issue?

For some reason, suddenly I can't access the documents tab on our ARMLS web site. I called Tech support for the Flex web site and they say they can open the tab and read the docs fine.
They are saying it is an Adobe issue on my computer. I un installed adobe and reloaded but the same result.
Any ideas

Yes, I just changed my browser to Internet Explorer and same result, I
still can not read any PDF documents loaded to this site.
I have not tried un installing adobe but that is next, then reinstalling
while in Explorer.

Limitations devices for share folios by Adobe Viewer

Hi,
The limitation about use the same Adobe ID with Adobe Viewer for 25 devices start now? with V25. I didn´t find this information in this link - What’s new in this release

I believe Felipe is referring to the recent eseminar where Zeke said that starting with r26 they are going to start limiting folio access to 25 devices per ID when using the Adobe Content Viewer. The reason stated was because the internal Adobe security department thought that it was risky for lots of folks to have access to the same folio and would make it more likely that a folio would be altered/corrupted. Some folks in the eseminar immediately objected in the chat area and John Metzger asked for people to send their use cases to him via email so they could understand why this might be a problem. John responded to my use case e-mail saying that, "we are examining our initial thoughts around imposing a limit based on customer feedback and some very valid use cases."
So currently it is planned but they may change their minds and find another solution to solve the potential security issue. This limitation won't happen for another 8 weeks or so (when r26 is released) if it does happen. That's how I understand the current situation, Adobe folks please feel free to correct me or provide further details.

Adobe DONT support Adobe Viewer App because it is free... it is still developed by Adobe though. Anyway I log on to Adobe OK on my iMac with ID and password but when I click Adobe Viewer app on my iPad it asks for my Adobe ID and password and when I enter

See above ...I can log on to Adobe on my iPad with ID and password but when I try to click on Adobe Viewer App on my iPad I am asked to Sign In with my Adobe ID and password...when I enter exactly as I did on my iMac I get Authentication Failed?? Any one have this issue?

Adobe Viewer Crashing

I have noticed that the Adobe Viewer crashes ALOT, i.e., quits to the home screen. This is not a huge problem during testing, but I am wondering about the performance of built apps and whether or not anyone has noticed the same stability issues. This becomes a concern if the app is to be used during any sort of performance venue, where quitting could cause a serious inconvenience and problem for the presenter/performer. I personally have seen this behavior in some of the folio apps I have downloaded from the App Store, but I haven't used too many to make any or of conclusion.
Specifically with the quitting to the home screen, I have observed this happening upon almost every folio update in the Viewer.
The sequence is: notice that there is a folio update, agree to update, update is downloaded, touch front page icon, Viewer quits to the home screen. This happens 99.9% of the time. I am using an iPad 3. I have tried powering the iPad off, but the same thing happens, even if nothing else is running.
I am running the latest Viewer update (v23 compatible), but experienced the same behavior in the previous iteration.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here's the environment:
- Adobe Content Viewer: v23 (2.8.0.0.59944)
- "Customized Viewer" (ipa): assuming the same (2.8.0.1.59944)
- Folio version: set to the same (v23).
- Testing with: all, iPad1 (32Gb WiFi/3G) + iPad2 (64Gb WiFi/3G) + iPad3 (32Gb WiFi/3G), clean iOS 5.1.1 everywhere, no jailbreaks.
- We use vector (PDF) type articles, MSO and embedded audio/video clips.
- The size: test folio is 108,639,607 bytes, 27 articles. It does not crash even on iPad1. The final test / pre-Production version is 705,428,610 bytes (161 articles). It does crash even on new iPad3.
- There are also intermediate test versions (between 50 and 90 articles, between 200 and 350 MBytes, they also cause crash at 1,2 and new 3 iPad's)
- I remember we had these intermediate versions working on iPad3 and sometimes iPad2 until new Viewer v23 was released. The full version was not ready at that time.
That's it. Any suggestios?
