Adobe, what you doing, no CS6 for XP?

The performance while you are using softwares like Illustrator, Photoshop and a 3D software like Maya together, Windows XP 64 "KILLS" the Windows 7 64, I've a computer i7 960 with 24GB ram, in my Windows XP 64 SP2, and yes, I'm using them all, fast and stable. I used the Seven at work once, that was so horrible, disappointing and even traumatizing, and the computer settings was really powerfull. Please Adobe, stop this madness, still a least one more release for XP users, is not me, but millions of people wish that too!
Just a little comparison, this test was made for push CPUs usage in dual or quad cores processes, and guess what:
In fact the results were surprising because the operating system many people's favorite, the Windows XP managed to get ahead in all tests, with a processing performance better with dual core chips and a scale of approximately 19% in a quad-core versus Windows Vista. Since Windows 7 yielded almost the same as Vista and it was even worse in some tests.
Please, consider a least the Windows XP 64 SP2. For work, there is no other like it.

So odd, almost 1/3 of population still using XP, and you say "not indicative of the greater population". Please man, Adobe make apps even for Android and iOS but cannot make run in XP anymore, running Ps for kidding in tablet, thats way to go!!!
What is currently running in XP64 SP2:
Adobe Ai CS5.5 fast & smoothly
Adobe Ps CS5.5 fast & smoothly
Adobe Br CS5.5 fast & smoothly
Autodesk Maya 2012 - fast & smoothly
Autodesk 3DSmax 2012 - fast & smoothly
Autodesk SketchBook Pro 2011 - fast & smoothly
Autodesk SketchBook Designer 2012 - fast & smoothly
Autodesk Alias 2012 - All packages - fast & smoothly
Autodesk MotionBuilder 2012 - fast & smoothly
Pixologic Zbrush 4 - all plugins - fast & smoothly
The Foundry NukeX 6.3 - fast & smoothly
E-on Vue10 - fast & smoothly
And many, many others...
And some of this apps are running in Linux too.
You wanna swallow up the W7, I prefer wait for a real XP substitute, I hope that W8 be this guy.

As far as I am aware it works for all countries. You are following the instructions on that page exactly e.g. it's a new account that you are trying to create and you are selecting a free app in the store and clicking on 'create Apple id' when 'buying' it ?

Probably. Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before installing it.

  • Need 'What You Hear' recording option for Notebook(Vista)-Does Xi-Fi for Notebooks provide th

    Hi,
I have an Audigy sound card on a Dell desktop and it has the "What You Hear" recording option within Vista. I need the same option for my Dell Notebook, unfortuntately, this notebook uses a Sigmatel card within the motherboard. What device or application to i need to buy in order to get the "What you Hear" recording option to be available?
What am i attempting to do?I often record li've webcasts in which the video portion comes through a Li've Meeting or Lotus Same time application using a Screen Recording Application?BUT the Audio comes from a conference which i use a VoIP software to dial into. I need to be able to record the sound that's been generated through my computer as an internal source. I need to be able to select 'What You Hear' as the default recording device so that the screen recording application i use can also record the audio been played through the PC?Appreciate any help here. Thanks?Kevin

If it'sis not a Creative card, "what u hear" will be called something different. Maybe "stereo mix" or something else. The device just records anything coming from the soundcard. Play around and see if you don't have something similar to "what u hear" with a different name.

  • What font does iTunes use for inserts??

I know it uses Lucida Grande for iTunes itself, but what font does it use when printing out a jewel case insert? I have a project that is a gift and want the fonts on the iTunes insert to match what I am putting together for the spines.

    Still looking if anyone knows.

  • HT1338 What Interface does Apple recommend for Garage Band as the D.A.W. ?

I Have a Line 6 Toneport UX-2. It does not work with my new MacBook Pro.I need to know what the Experts recommend I use as an Interface for Vocals,Guitar and Bass. I'm very excited about GarageBand and need a way "Into" my Computer..Thank you .GuitarGordy.

I use The Apogee Duet. It's a wonderful interface..straightforward, clean, and solid. They make an eight track model, The Apogee Ensemble. It's quite expensive, but if you shop around perhaps you could find a deal on it. It would be over your budget, but it's worth considering.
Here's a link to it on Musician's Friend:

  • Fireworks CC - Tell Adobe what you think

This is important to BC users, particuarly any web designers. Adobe recently announced that Fireworks will be dropped after CS6. You'll already notice that it's not in the new Adobe Creative Cloud (CC). There is no replacement offered at this time. I believe we need to apply pressure to Adobe to put web design back on the menu. Frankly I think it's insane to invest so much in print-based design software when all the growth is in web and mobile. For BC this is important, as it goes to the core of creative design development.
Add your voice (comment) to save Fireworks as your creative canvas for rapid prototyping and rapid design development:

  • What exactly does AppleCare cover for an iPhone4S?

I purchased AppleCare when I bought my iPhone 4s Last December (2011). I am wondering, what does this plan actually cover, when is it possible to get a new phone (for free? or less price)?

when is it possible to get a new phone (for free? or less price)?
Never, if by that you mean a newer model. AppleCare covers manufacturing defects, just as the original warranty did, so if your iPhone has a hardware problem during the AppleCare period, Apple will replace it with another unit of the same model and configuration.
    Regards.

    Thanks!

  • What app does Apple recommend for creating pocasts?

I need to be able to add the EXPLICIT tag too.
Now that Garageband doesn't support podcasting, what Apple program does?

Apple doesn't recommend anything. GarageBand can make mp3 files for you but I understand it no longer handles 'enhanced' M4a podcasts with chapters - in any case it used to hand over to the now unsupported iWeb to make the actual podcast feed.
There are a number of programs and services you can use - WordPress is powerful and flexible but is complex and get more people into problems than anything else in these forums. Bogger, Podbean and SquareSpace are easier; Libsyn is well supported but does have a running cost. Some website creation programs such as RapidWeaver can make a podcast feed for you. I can't recommend anything myself - when I was running my podcast I used Podcast Maker but it's not been updated for ages and Iget you understand it doesn't play well with Mountain Lion and up.
You may find my 'get you started' page on podcasting helpful:

  • What UPS does HP recomend for the Envy 27 recline

I have just purchase a envy recline 27, great machine but the touch screen does not work as it should when runing on my UPS's either.
The touch screen makes many touch mistakes and the touch keyboard does not work as well as it does when runing on mains power.
So I am guessing the UPS I have is are not up to the task, I have read else where power inverters or UPS can cuase capacitance touch screen to play up.
So what type of UPS does HP recomend to use with their Envy27 recline so it will continue to works as if it was still on mains power.
    thanks for advise.

    Thanks Big-Dave,
Thanks for you advice, I am just wondering if this problem is in particular to Envy Recline needing very clean power from the UPS/Inverter power supply for the touch screen.
I have read this happens to all types of touch screens on smart phones , Ipad etc where their screens all play up when being charged or used with inverter power supply's,
So I don't think it's the Envy touch screen needing warranty work, as it works so well on mains power and is only slightly playing up on my old computer UPS wich I've had for many years as I replaced the 12v battery in it a few times now.
My motor home has a true sine wave power invertor which is just new and very expensive one, it really sents the touch screen cracy where you can't use it, but the Envy works perfectly OK using the mouse and keyboard on this inverted power.
Big Dave, I am wondering if I need to have a particular brands of inverters and UPS that has extra clean power to work with this computer's touch screen.
I can't afford to keep buying inverter and UPS in a trali and error situation hoping I'll find the right one that will work O.K with the Envy27 Recline touch screen.
Surely HP would have done some R&D on this problem and know what brands work etc, is this the right place to ask the HP tech Department?
Thanks Dave your help, it's not really a software problem is it.
    Cheers

  • What file does ipod use for library and how do i access it?

    Hi.
I almost put this in the ipod discussion but the question has to do with itunes as well...
I have learned that itunes uses an xml file for the library, containing all song information and playlists (not sure about id3 tags for .wav, mp3) but when i looked at my data for the ipod i found no .xml files.
Heres what happened and why i need this:
unplugged the ipod after an osx reboot to winxp bootcamp hung. then i noticed the ipod was erased (or so i thought)
Couldn't access any of the data on the ipod and hadnt a spare 80 gigs to back up my ipod.
I didn't give up and after trying so many data recovery programs i got one to work and now i have what looks like all the songs back - with song titles and filenames - on my comp.
I want my library back too. I want my hard wrought playlists and i want to know what songs i may be missing; I need to rebuild my 'library'.
with the data i retrieved there is a folder called root, and if you follow and go to ipod control>Itunes there are a bunch of temp files and a large file called ipodcontrol and a couple files called playlist but those two were umm, empty. I dont know what any of this stuff is but if i knew how the ipod makes its library that would be a start in seeing if i can somehow get the library back. I know there is a way. I also am sure there are tons of people out there whose tracks have been erased after an auto update or unplug. You can get your music back! It would be so sweet to figure out how to reconstruct the library file too.

I forgot to mention that for you people who have inadvertently erased your ipods, the data recovery program that worked the best for me was called R-Studio.
So anyone know what file ipod uses for its internal library?

  • What OSX does suit better for PowerBook G4 17"?

I have 2 partitions, both as StartUp Disks with Leopard 10.5.8 OSX.
Can you please tell me what OSX is better for my Mac? Leopard or Tiger?
I never tried the last, 'cos I bought this laptop a second-hand with Leopard on it already.
So, I'd like to know more what of the OS is better for Powerbook G4 (concerning productivity, speed, usability etc.)?
    Here's my Hard Ware Overview:
    Hardware Overview:
          Model Name: PowerBook G4 17"
          Model Identifier: PowerBook5,9
          Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.5)
          Processor Speed: 1.67 GHz
          Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
          Memory: 2 GB
          Bus Speed: 167 MHz
          Boot ROM Version: 4.9.5f3
          Serial Number (system): W8******SX0
          Hardware UUID: 00000000-0000-1000-8000-00145122650A
          Sudden Motion Sensor:
              State: Enabled
I'm asking, 'cos sometimes (especially now) the System really slow! Even writing this text is no really easy task to do!
Productivity of the laptop harshly decreases! Launching applications, opening windows, writing text, opening tabs in a browser etc.

Make sure you use a 10.5.6 retail or older 10.5.4, 10.5.1, or 10.5.0 retail if installing 10.5.
Note that Mac will not boot into 9, and will lose access to Classic under the Mac OS X 10.5 boot.  For more on updating to 10.5 including the retail disc description, see this tip:
