Adobe will not open attachment in email.

I was prompted to update Adobe, now I cannot open the file as an attachment in my outlook. Im running Windows 7 64 bit os. I tried to unistall/reinstall, same issue. Worked fine before the update.

Hi,
What are you actually using? Is it Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader and what's the version of that product?

My adobe will not open my jpeg pics

We do not know what your Adobe is as our Adobe is a company, not a software program.
If you are tryint open jpegs with Adobe Reader or Adobe Flash Player you are out of luck since they do not open files of that type. If you are trying to edit jpegs you need a program like Adobe Photoshop Elements. If you only want to view jpegs, they you can direct almost any web browser to the file for viewing. There are many free software programs for viewing and editing jpeg files.
    ImageJ - RSB Home Page
ImageJ is provided the the U.S. Government's  National Institue of Health. It will open jpegs with no issue.

There is something odd in this message.
Even under Lion, Pages 08 is able to open Pages 08 documents created by Pages 09.
I guess that the OP made a typo and that the docs were created as Pages 09 documents.
In theory, the availability of iWork 08 on a machine is not supposed to disable the ability to buy Pages 09 thru the MAS because the iWork 08 registration scheme is not the same than the iWork 09 one.

  • IPhone will not open attachements

I have 3 iPhone 4s that will not display attachements. I have tried .jpg,.xlxs,docx and it appears that the phone is not actually downloading the file. It has the solid border around the file name, but give an error message when I try open the file. 2 phones are on ios. 5.1 and the other is 5.0.1. I sent the file so that I would have to manually download the file and have the same results.
Anyone have any idea on why this is happening?
    Robb

Ok - but yu actually have to read the instructions and follow them
reposted and numbered for ease of reading
    1 - using the finder
2 - Go to your Pictures Folder and
3 - find the iPhoto Library there.
4 - Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and [this will open a menu that includes the "Show Package Contents" command]
5 - select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
6 = Look there for a file called ‘iPhoto’Lock.data or similar.
7 - Drag it to the Desktop. Make no other changes.
8 - Start iPhoto. Does that help?

  • Newly updated Adobe will not open!

I am running Windows XP professional 2002.  I have just updated to Adobe 9.3.  It now will not open and goes immediately to "Adobe 9.3 has encountered a problem and needs to close."
    Details say  Error Signature
                      AppName:  acrord32exe.
    Any suggestions?

Ask in the Reader forum. You appear to be asking about Adobe Reader 9, not Adobe Acrobat 9. These are two different products and the problems differ between products.

  • Run As Administrator Firefox will not open links in emails

When Firefox is opened with Run As Administrator links in emails will not open. Is this normal?
    Using W7 Firefox 23.

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * Open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''

  • Just purcashed more memory.  adobe will not open.

just purchased memory   adobe is not opening.

    Your brevity is impressive.
Please tell us a few more details, like operating system, how much memory you have (and how much did you have before), what error messages you are getting, do other programs work, and the exact sequence of steps you went through from purchasing memory (I assume you mean you installed the memory as well, but please tell us if that is what you mean) to the inability to open "adobe" (I assume you mean Photoshop Elements, but please tell us what you really mean)

  • Adobe will not open PDF files from other programs

This is on one of the computers in our office.  We use a medical records program called Sevocity.  This program stores documents that we import into the electronic charts as PDF files.  When we upgraded that computer from Adobe to Adobe Pro, it no longer opened the PDF documents stored there.  Is this an issue with the medical program or with Adobe Pro?  We already had Sevocity Support attempt to fix the problem, but they said the issue looked like it was with Adobe.
We would like to troubleshoot by re-installing AdobePro, but we want to make sure that none of our files stored to the Adobe Document Cloud.  If we re-install Adobe, will those documents still be available in the online Adobe account's Document Cloud, or do we need to move those documents to the collective Creative Cloud?

Yeah, it does open from other sources like "My Documents", but sometimes it won't open the print previews in our billing system either.  Communication error with secure sites and programs, maybe?  I don't get an error message, though.  It just displays the "processing" symbol next to the mouse for a second or two like it does when PDF's usually open, and then nothing happens.  We are using Windows 7 on that computer.  The other computer that runs on Windows 7 also has Adobe Pro XI, but does not experience these problems.  I have also put in a ticket with Sevocity (the program that is not communicating with Adobe).
And that's a relief about the Document Cloud!  We will try to re-install just in case it was something that went wrong with the initial install.

  • Adobe will not open

Orignally started with adobe X. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with adobe XI. Even removed all registry entries. Any idea's?

Disabling Protected Mode did not work for me. I did NOT try auto-repairing (Control Panel >Add Remove Programs > Adobe Reader XI > Change > Repair).
    What worked for me was:
    - go to Task Manager
    - find all instances of "Acrobat Reader" (file name is AcroRd32.exe) and end all of these processes
    - find "Adobe Acrobat SpeedLauncher" (file name is reader_sl.exe) and end the process (note: skip this step and the issue will not disappear)
    - launch Acrobat Reader - it should open this time
    - accept EULA if it was not yet accepted
Before I did the steps above:
    - Acrobat Reader was not starting when I was double-clicking on a PDF file
    - Acrobat Reader was not starting when I was trying to open it directly
    - A new instance of AcroRd32.exe process was appearing in the Task Manager every time I tried one of the above actions. This resulted in a couple of AcroRd32.exe processes running in parallel after some time. Killing all of these processes and trying to open Acrobat Reader again did not resolve the issue. The missing step was killing reader_sl.exe process.

  • Safari will not open link from email

When trying to open a link from an email in Postbox (3.0.11) Safari 8 (OS X 10.10) will open a new tab, but nothing else happens. The new tab remains blank and the address bar is blank. This occurs when Safari is set as the default browser.
When I set Chrome as my default browser, Chrome will open the same link without any issues.
Any ideas or is this an undocumented feature for the new Safari.
    Homer
    System: iMac 7,1 (late 2007)
    OS X 10.10
    Safari 8.0
    Postbox 3.0.11

Uninstall SIMBL as follows. Back up all data before making any changes.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return. A folder will open. From that folder, delete the items listed below (some may be absent.) You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
              Application Support/SIMBL
              InputManagers/SIMBL
              LaunchAgents/net.culater.SIMBL.Agent.plist
              LaunchAgents/net.infinite-labs.SIMBLEnablerForSandboxedApps.plist
              ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax
Log out and log back in.
Make sure you never reinstall SIMBL. It’s likely to come bundled with another third-party system modfication that depends on it. If you want trouble-free computing, avoid software that makes miraculous changes to other software, especially built-in applications. The only real exception to that rule is Safari extensions, which are mostly safe, and are easy to get rid of when they don’t work. SIMBL and its dependents are not Safari extensions.

  • Adobe will not open documents

Hello, I cannot seem to open any documents, a dialog box keeps telling me that adobe is in procted mode, and it is in an unsupported configuration, can you help please.

    Some things to try...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Adobe Will Not Open Automatically

Using Adobe Reader installed under Trend anti virus system; Trend now gone replaced with Norton. Still produces same message.
Trying to open a pdf file always produces the following:
    C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\Temp\(file name)
    Application not found
How to fix so opening pdf is automatic

Sorry Pat I am a new hand at using these boards (if that is what they are called)
Answers to your questions I hope:
I have been unable to open pdf files with this computer since I installed the Trend Anti virus. That is why I removed it and put Norton360 in it's place having had that on all my machines for years, I order for me to actually open the file I have to trace it's source using the path I wrote in my opening question.

I think local only because it says that "local" before "temp"

  • I loaded the new version of firefox and now yahoo will not open up the email it only shows login and goes back to main sign in each time.

the log in in comes up and sys login.yahoo...nd%3d13d5f2 and it keep s repeating series of numbers but never opens. It shows my name and says i have mail but as soon as i click on mail it takes me back to login page

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
