Adobe won't help fix problem caused by them

I bought the software license of photoshop elements 13 and premiere elements 13 and needed help to install them which I received from Adobe. 
However they won't open without an internet connection which is incorrect.  I live chatted this afternoon with someone from Adobe but because I had installed them onto a separate drive I have connected to my computer Adobe won't help me.
Can anyone help me please?  I'm really upset about this and don't know what to do next.

Hi,
When you first use the editor, you must sign in to your Adobe Id and also supply the serial number that you got when you bought the products - there will be two, one for each product.
If they are accepted then that has "activated" that copy - which means that you have registered that product/system with Adobe and that you can now start using it. You are allowed two active copies so you could have them on a desktop and a laptop.
Once you have activated a copy, you should be able to work without an Internet connection unless you want to use a facility that requires it. Some of the special content have to be downloaded the first time that you use them.
Once you have "activated" the product, do not sign out ar that will de-activate it and you will not be able to use it until you activate it again.
The activation is Adobe's way of ensuring that people buy legitimate copies of the software.

  • Elements v7.0 error message---need help but Adobe won't help me!!!

    After using Adobe Photoshop Elements for quite a few years, my version 7.0 now gives the message:  "Adobe Photoshop Elements has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
    I called Adobe for help and was told that my only source of help is this forum.  Adobe is not providing support for the product they sold me, which will definitely be considered before I purchase any additional upgrades!!!!

    Windows updates will sometimes cause individual programs to stop working
    The first thing to do is go to the vendor site for your graphics card (usually ATI or nVidia) and make sure you have an up to date device driver
    Also... some questions...

    How much system memory you have installed, such as 2Gig or ???
    Operating System version, such as Win7 64bit Pro... or whatevevr

    -and have you tried to RIGHT click the program Icon and then select
    -the Run as Administrator option (for Windows, not sure about Mac)
    Your Firewall settings and brand of anti-virus are you running
    Brand/Model graphics card, sush as ATI "xxxx" or nVidia "xxxx"
    -or the brand/model graphics chip if on the motherboard
    -and the exact driver version for the above graphics card/chip
    -and how much video memory you have on your graphics card
    Brand/Model sound card, or sound "chip" name on Motherboard
    -and the exact driver version for the above sound card/chip
    Size(s) and configuration of your hard drive(s)... example below
    -and how much FREE space is available on each drive (in Windows
    -you RIGHT click the drive letter while using Windows Explorer
    -and then select the Properties option to see used/free space)

    What happened the last time it did work? Was there a crash? You might have bad recovery data that is causing it to crash again on restart.
    See Replace Your Preferences  for directions to the HIDDEN folders where your prefs are stored. The recovery folder is in the same location as the InDesign SavedData file. Empty it and try again.

  • I am switching computers and want to reinstall Production Premium CS6. Adobe won't help me. Can any of you?

    I have an old HP Laptop that is about to be completely kaput. I'm getting a new PC and would like to take CS6 Production Premium OFF of my laptop and install it ONTO my new PC. I've moved a few times over the years and so I can no longer find the disks or the code. I've had a similar problem before when my harddrive died on my current laptop. Adobe had no problem sending me a download file of the whole software as well as finding my registration code and sending me a new one. Now, with the creative cloud, they won't even put me in touch with anyone. Can anyone help me or am I SOL?

  • CS3 Premium - Owned Copy Being Treated as Trial - Help?  Adobe Won't Help for Less Than $39

    I bought a copy of Creative Suite Design Premium a year-and-a-half ago. Today, when trying to bring up a .pdf file I got a window that informed me I couldn't open Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional unless I opened another Adobe product first. I opened Photoshop and got a window stating that my trial version ends in five days. I clicked "OK" to get it running again but don't want to be without Adobe resources in five days. I spoke with customer support who informed me that I would have to pay $39 for technical support. After providing my opinion on that subject I chose not to pay the money. That's another issue, so I won't vent here about it.
    Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

    Thanks for the reply, Mike. Other programs within the suite show only "deactivate" as a clickable choice. I assume that means the suite was activated. The Acrobat 8 program shows "Activate" but when following the arrow, shows only a grayed out "Active" "Deactive". Any advice on how to proceed?

    I can sign into all my Apple apps EXCEPT Facetime.  It refuses to activate and says I have no network connection.  I used this all the time on the old OS.  I am not the ony one having this problem if you check the forums.  I am not resetting the wifi on all my other systems to accomodate my phone, nor should I have to.  I should not have to lose all my data and information and reset my phone.  I want this to activate.  I am not the only one.

  • Power outage - help fixing problems

    Happy New Year All,
    Follwoing a sudden local power outage, my iMac (Late 2011, OS X Mountain Lion) restarted OK and I was able to continue working.
    Two problems remain.
    1. I use an online backup service (JustCloud) which was running at the time of the power outage but now the application will not start showing the error message "...cannot start as there is already another instance running on this computer". How do I fix this problem please?
    2. Despite the "Open windows on restart" box NOT being checked, a Safari window opens automatically on startup / login. Again, any thoughts on how to fix this.

    The problem was that the process was not showing in Activity Monitor - or at least it wasn't obvious what the process was called as it certainly wasn't called JustCloud!
    Anyway, after an overnight rest I logged onto a different account on the iMac and all seemed well. I thne logged back into my own account and tadah - all working OK.
    I have repaired disk permissions and rset safari in any case and JustCloud is backing up as I type.

  • Adobe PDF Link Helper add on IE 8

    Hello, we have a client who is having issues with their IE 8 browser - it freezes, crashes and seems to leave behind extract iexplore processes that don't close properly - searching online, I discovered that the add on "Adobe PDF Link Helper" can sometimes cause these type of issues with IE 8 - the client has this add on enabled -  can anyone confirm this? Is there any information on this?

    Most of what I've read on this points to other addons as well (Google or Ask toolbar, for instance)... and also shows that it is most prevalent in Vista, which has more bugs than a swamp. I read a few places where a Reset of IE fixed it, others where disabling the addon did the trick. Disabling the link helper can have some adverse consequences, though... primarily being the loss of the ability to open ANY PDFs in the browser.

    Basically I downloaded an .air file after recently reformatting my computer, and I tried to open it with Acrobat. Now, since there is no actual application and or shortcut created by AIR I can't just tell the file to use that. I've found that I'm not alone in this issue, have tried a few things I've read on both this forum and others, and have come to no resolution as of yet. This file isn't anything of any great significance, but it bugs me so much that at this point I just want to know how to fix this and win this little battle.

    Thank JJMack - that has helped me get closer to the problem.
    I opened the resource monitor and you can see a screenshot of what is going on when I try to save a simple, 9 Kb graphic. (I'm saving an RGB JPG, not a PNG or animated GIF file. Doing anything complex / memory intensive than saving or simple edits in PS is almost impossible.)
    As you can see from the screencap below, when I save (it doesn't make a difference if it is save vs. save to web or a network or local drive) Photoshop becomes unresponsive. (From past experiences, if I try to switch to a non-Adobe program it will also freeze and sometimes crash.) When PS becomes unresponsive, the NT Kernel & System immediately goes to the top of the list and uses 200+ threads.
    From there Photoshop will typically be frozen for about a minute, then will recover and take another minute or two to finish the save. At that point PS is okay, but the rest of the computer is still frozen with CPU oscillating up to almost 100%.
    As soon as the NT Kernel & System settles down, everything is back to normal again (as long as I haven't used other programs, which in one case required a hard reboot.)
    It is pretty clear the problem is rooted in Adobe / Window 7 as I only have this problem with Adobe programs. (Illustrator isn't as bad, but I've had problems with it as well.)
    The question is: How do I fix this, as it is killing my ability to work?
