Adobe won't work

Hello,
I was trying to download adobe reader (I have it on here but it isn't working) so it gets up to 72% then it stops and says:
"This patch package could not be opened verify that the patch exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verfy that this a valid window installer patch package"
HUH??  I dodn't understand a word of that. Can anybody help me?? I have a windows xp.

Remove the corruped Reader installation using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then download and run the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Adobe is a company with more than hundred software products; what program are you talking about?
What is your operating system & version?
What exactly means "won't work" and "cannot uninstall"?

  • Adobe won't work; keeps wanting me to reload.

I'm using an iMac and a MacBook Pro, but am having trouble with the iMac.  Every time I go to a site that requires Adobe to see the video, it tells me I need to download a newer version of Adobe.  I've installed it many times, but it still won't work.  Any suggestions??  I have uninstalled & reinstalled, but nothing....  I have no problems with Adobe on my MacBook Pro.
Not sure I've chosen the right "group."  If I didn't, maybe you can help me choose the right one.
    Thanks for your help.

Make sure you are using the proper version of flash player for your os system.  You must also uninstall all previous versions prior to installing a newer version by using Adobe's uninstaller.  After the installation, repair permissions and restart your computer.

  • Firefox says adobe won't work, update installed, still not working

Firefox says my Adobe needs to be updated-I update the program and am still getting the same error message and adobe isn't working either.

hello dzucker, according to your system details, you still have adobe reader 9.4.5 present which is vulnerable. please update at least to version 9.5.3 or the current acrobat reader XI which are available at https://get.adobe.com/reader/ (the site currently seems down/has some issues, so if it doesn't work immediately check back a little bit later).

  • Adobe won't work in windows 8

I used to use acrobate, shockwave player on my old computer.  now with new windows 8 and internet explorer 10, nothing will work. i've been to help forums, getting started videos, checked  installation, turned off active x and turned on compatibility view, but, nothing works.  can anyone help?  i don't convert PDF files, or maybe I do.  Don't want to know, just know that when I take online surveys, thier screens requiring flash player won't downlod.  just keep getting the screen that says I don't have it installed, but I do, I do!!!!  thank you

It's tedious, but there are some things you need to understand if you want to get this working.
There are many different products from Adobe - over 100 in fact. Two of them, probably the ones you've seen, are Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player. They do entirely different things and you need to understand the difference.
Adobe Reader reads PDF files. If you find these on a web site it will usually say so.
Adobe Flash Player plays Flash, which can appear in browsers but isn't a file you can work - it's just there, on the screen. It's used, for example, to show videos in YouTube.
We can help you understand which one you need, I should think. Is this a public page in your browser? If so, copy and paste the URL (that's the web address thing which starts http at the top somewhere) and we'll visit and at least be able to cut your choices in half.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements - serial number provided by Adobe won't work

Trying to install Premiere Elements ....
Entering serial number provided by email after online purchase (from Adobe) on a Windows 8.1 OS gives "Adobe genuine software verification failure": "The product you are trying to install...appears to be counterfeit"
Tried installing a trial version and then entering serial no. into purchase option - didn't work.
Any help would be much appreciated. I have spent a total of 5 hours (over 2 days) on the customer care chat line to no avail....

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. From your description of the issue, it would appear that Adobe is the only one who can resolve your issue.
Please confirm what version of Premiere Elements is involved and on what computer operating system is involved.
If you purchased Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe within 30 days of purchase, Adobe should be able to resolve this problem

    Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and click Options (Preferences for Linux and Mac).
#In the Options (Preferences for Linux and Mac) window, select the ''Applications'' panel.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right hand side you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Flash Player Won't work!

I am trying to use Adobe Flash Player on my account on me and my brother's computer. We have Windows 7. My brother's account's Flash Player works fine on his, but my account, no matter what I do, won't let player work. I thought it had something to do with our antivirus program, Kaspersky PURE 3.0, but turning it off or temporarily disabling it doesn't seem to help at all. Please help me ASAP, thanks!

Sorry I didn't explain that. "Won't Work" means that when I try to play a game on the internet that uses Flash Player, it won't start (usually just has a black window where the game should start up).

It runs OK  for a while, but then suddenly it won't work. I uninstall it, re-boot and re-install again, bit the same process repeats itself and once again I have to uninstall and re-install again. I don't know if windows update interferes with it? Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is it fixable?

I think you'd be much better off asking in the Acrobar forum, Acrobat

  • Hyperlinks in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional won't work

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional and MS Word 2003. When I convert Word documents to PDF, my hyperlinks won't work. In Word they work fine but when I click on them in a newly created PDF file, nothing happens.
I would be so grateful if someone could teach me how to fix this!
    Thanks in advance,
    Gloria

Thanks Bill! I have just managed to fix this 'missing hyperlinks' problem myself using Word settings. For everyone interested this is what I did:
    - If your hyperlinks in Word doc are working fine but when you convert the file to PDF they won't work, you need to make sure that in Adobe PDFMaker Settings menu, in Application Settings the "Add links to Adobe PDF" box is SELECTED.
    - Also, the conversion settings should be at High Quality.
Hope this helps everyone who is suffering because of the same problem!
The only problem I am still having is the darker, dirtier colours of my headlines and captions (dark purple instead of bright pink, dark red instead of normal red, etc.).

  • Adobe Reader won't work

    Hello
I use Windows 7 (64 bit). I've spent a couple of days trying to get Adobe Reader to work. I need version 9.5 or higher in order to fill out an important tax document. When I click on the icon the program will come up for a few seconds and then it disappears by itself. I have repeatedly removed both adobe reader as well as acrobat using both the adober clean up program as well as the windows uninstall program. I have tried re downloading all 3 versions. The same problem continues to happen. I desparately need to find a solution. Thanks.

    Hi again
I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to help much - even though I feel like
I've just finished an intensive adobe seminar. So, that said - I'm stuck
again. Thanks to you I got Adobe Reader 11 loaded and was able to fill out
and save the tax form as a pdf file. When I get into the the site to file
the form though I get the following page when I try to open the saved form:
    Please wait...

  • Adobe Apps Won't Work

I upgraded to Tiger finally. Upgraded to Final Cut Studio as well. After the upgrades, all Adobe Products decided to quit working. Also, DVD Studio Pro won't work either.
    System Information:
    - Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5, 4 GB DDR SDRAM, Running 10.4.6 with all the latest software updates installed.
I have tried to repair disk permissions, delete preferences, delete .plists, ran Onyx and nothing has worked. As well, Tiger just seems to run slower compared to Panther.
    Photoshop 7.0.1:
    - "Could not initialize Photoshop because there is not enough memory (RAM)."
    Illustrator 10.0.3:
    - Bounces twice in the dock and that's it.
    After Effects 6.0:
    - "After Effects error: Unkown Bravo Error"
    - "After Effects error: invalid container"
    - "After Effects error: Not enough memory to initialize AGM."
At this point, the only thing I know to do is erase the whole hard drive and start over. Any suggestions?

Well, I wiped the hard drive clean and re-installed everything and now the Adobe Apps work fine...

    I vote Flash Player.
First uninstall Flash Player according to the instructions here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
Read and follow all the instructions with care.
If you must have Flash Player, install it from this site:
