Adobe X crashing on XenApp server 2003

Hi,
I have Adobe Reader X 10.1.2 installed with Adobe Standard 7 latest patchs on Xenapp 4.5 server running 2003 server.
since the upgrade to reader X I am having all sorts of crash dumps created from IE to SAP GUI to Acrobat.
When I analyze the crash dump the Adobe errors keep poping up.
Has anyone else experianced this.
thanks
Ronnie

Does anyone have any alternate I/O solutions for inputting
Composite, Component, SDI, XLR? I've beel looking for a rack
mounted box (preferably) that inputs accepts analog and digital
formats and outputs a firewire feed that can be input into my Flash
Media Encoder box (I thought Motu's V4HD fit the bill, but after
talking to them apparently it will not work...).

  • Print pdf file directly from a folder, Adobe Reader X in  Windows Server 2003

    In previous versions of Adobe Reader we were able to print pdf files groupwise directly when selected in a folder.
    Now I've installed Reader X on the Windows Server 2003 environment. Logged in as administrator I can still select <Print> by selecting the right mouse button in a folder. Logged in as a user, this is not available.
    I checked user-rights and permissions and made sure they have full control.
    Someone who can help us in this matter?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.
    The file menu doesn't show the print option either. We used to work this way, after installing the 9.0 and Reader X version, this option has disappeared from both the File menu and the right mouse button. For other filetypes, for example Excel the Print option is still available and works properly. Logged in as administrator on the serverconsole, there is no problem. So it seams to be something specific to pdf-formats in a server 2003 environment. The userrights are all set on full control (same as administrator).
    Thanks again

  • Adobe v6 on Windows Server 2003

    Howdy, I have at least two clients now that can't print to Adobe v6 running on Windows Server 2003 SP2 fully patched. Adobe has all patches as well. I also did everything here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=321546
    I also removed all ports, printers and drivers from the machine including removing them from the registry and spools folder.
    I spent 5 hours uninstalling, reinstalling etc. The only thing I haven't done is rebuild the server which I have no plans to do. Since this is occuring on more that one machine I'm betting a recent MS patch has hosed things up but I need a fix.

  • Hard disk crash - Server 2003 r2

    Our hard disk crashed last night - Server 2003 r2.  We need to get some data off the disk but when we go to boot it up, it reads some windows system errors because it needs some system files that must be corrupted.  We tried booting up with the
    original disk but the system tries to install itself instead of just booting.
    Is there any way of adjusting the settings to just get a bootup so we can access the partitions on the disk and pull off the data?  (Yes, we have backups but yes, they are incomplete.)

    You can recover the data from a parallel install.

  • Cannot print to PDF Printer in Windows server 2003 x64 (Adobe 9 STD)

    Hi everyone,
    I'm running into a very odd issue. We are using Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 in our environment. Recently, I install the x64 bit version of Citrix on top of Windows Server 2003 x64.
    The problem that we are experience right now is that when user open a WORD or EXCEL document and try to print to PDF. The SAVE AS windows shows up to allow users to save, but nothing happens afterward. In another word, no PDF file is created.
    However, if I ask the user to right click on the file (in windows explorer) and choose Convert to PDF, then the conversion go through.
    Do you know a fix for this?

    You might read the EULA and confirm the issue I have mentioned. I might not be correct in my estimate, but just gave a sounds like opinion. If it is a violation, then removing it is wise. Typically, Acrobat must be installed on each individual machine. There are multiple license options and server options, but you would need to contact Adobe for more information on those areas. Hope you can get them to talk to you in such a case.

    Hi,
    Based on your description, I suggest you should firstly go to Event Viewer and check if you can find some detailed clues. Meanwhile, please let me know the completed
    error message that you can get.
    In addition, would you please let me know the Windows Server 2003 R2 that you use is 32-bit OS or 64-bit OS? The Splwow64.exe will load files from C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers.
    Please compare with a normal computer and check related DLL files if all are OK under the folder.
    Then please check and update the printer drivers. Monitor if this issue still persists.
    By the way, there is a similar question for Splwow64.exe. The questioner provided a solution. Please refer to and check if it’s helpful for your current situation.

  • Adobe Central Pro supported on a Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 2?

    Is Adobe Central Pro or can AC be supported on a Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 2.
    Currently only have it on SP1.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    When is Adobe Central Pro going to be sunset?
    Hi Don,
    I've installed SP4 (Incremental) as found here:  http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/service_packs/crystal_reports_en.asp#CRXIR2
    But could not find an SP4a or SP6 there.  I googled them, leading to another Business Objects page, in which there was a SP4 Full and SP 6 Incremental link, but I can't get a complete download of either.
    Can you point me in the right direction?  Sorry for the lack of knowledge navigating the Crystal site - it's not a product I'm overly familiar with.
    Thanks.
  • Directory Server 6 Server 2003 crash of  bin_ns-slapd.exe
    We have a Windows Server 2003 box that has had the bin_ns-slapd.exe crash twice in the last week. The only message I can get on it is this...
    Faulting application bin_ns-slapd.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module softokn3.dll, version 3.11.4.0, fault address 0x00019bdc.
    Has anyone had this issue? Also, how can I get some more additional information on this crash, I don't see any core dumps or errors in the normal logs. We're thinking of updating to 6.2, but need to test it first.
    Thanks for the info. I found the drwatson file shortly after I posted.
    I created a few scripts to parse the log files, primarily SSL connections being made, and I found out that SSL 128-bit RC4 resulted in almost no issues, but SSL 256-bit AES-256 resulted in a very high number of Corrupt SSL connections and Timed Out connections. Could this be a server issue or a setup issue?
    We are planning to update the servers Sunday to 6.2, hopefully the patch will resolve it.
  • Adobe Acrobat X on Server 2003 (using remote desktop services)
    Hi guys,
    I need to purchase a copy of Adobe Acrobat for Windows Server 2003 for use in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, as well as everyday Acobat read/write tasks. There will be about 4 or 5 simultaneous users connecting to the server using RDP (via Windows Vista and 7).
    My question is, will a single copy of Adobe Acrobat X Standard suffice or work properly on Windows Server 2003 for all users?
    I can't seem to find any information on Adobe Acrobat X and terminal services (or Remote Desktop Services).
    Hope I've made sense, and any help will be appreciated
    Thanks
  • Adobe reader crashes when 2 fillable PDF's are open
    We are having trouble with Adobe reader on all levels. versions 9 10 and 11 are having this problem. When we have 2 fillable PDF's open and we Tab in one or copy and paste from one to another the program crashes with no warnings. It will close both files down like we had pressed the Close buttons. Acrord32.exe crashes each time is what i have noticed. I have not messed with Registry yet because I didn't think it would be needed at this moment since it is multiple computers. This is what I have done to try and fix this error and other pertinent information:
    -Changed 3D settings
    -Changed Security Settings
    -upgraded from 9 to 10, 9 to 11, 11 to 10, 11 to 9, and it has been set back to 11 now
    -uninstalled, reinstalled
    -Broke some files and repaired the program
    -tested on multiple computers with same results
    -All systems are XP. on 7 it seems to be stable
    -tested multiple forms with same results
    If you need more information please let me know. Thank you for any help you can give me.
    Thanks again,
    I have adobe reader 11.0.09 installed on Windows 2008 R2 configured as Terminal server with Citrix XenApp 6.5 installed. The Server is hosting on average 14 - 15 simultaneous sessions. Adobe reader is installed on the server. The server is provisioned via Citrix Provisioning server 6.x
    The problem:
    The User with regular credentials opens two PDF files with writable fields at the same time. The user accesses the environment via remote access with Citrix receiver installed on his / her local desktop. The user fills up the text field on the first form and copies the text from the fields of first form to the appropriate fields of the second form. After few minutes adobe reader crashes.
    After I was investigating the issue, I found that at certain point the application crashes and throws a record into the ProcMon list
    More details from ProcMon
    After the crash of the application, the highlighted section in the snapshot above disappears and the application at this time is dead.
    This issue happens only when the PDF forms are opened with Adobe reader on Windows 2008R2. I have tested Adobe Reader 11.0.7 and 11.0.8 all of them are crashing the same way.
    Help is more than welcome.
    Thank You
