Adobe X Custom Stamps - Why reversing transparent image?

Have Adobe X 10.1.1. To prepare, I (1) Scan a signature to .tif; (2) open file in Paint.net; (3) crop down to have only signature; (4) save file at 600 dpi; (5) use magic wand to make transparent.  Then, I (1) Paste file into a Microsoft product (Word 2007), and transparency holds. If I copy that transparent image file from Word 2007 into Clipboard ... and then, Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool -- Transparency Holds. However, when I Create a Custom Stamp through Adobe Comment process, navigate to that transparent image, the image reverses the transparent area to black.
What is happening here? See random postings about .png not supported. Have had this happen with .png, with .gif, with .tif, and with .jpg (yes, I know .jpg doesn't support transparency).  What gives? Anybody?

Me again. I want to expound a little bit. I currently use a .gif image style to insert scanned signatures into .pdf files. We have Assistants who insert many differening people's scanned signatures into Word documents, Excel documents, and Adobe PDFs. The .gif files were not scaled to size, nor were they transparent. Installed Paint.net to reset these scanned signatures to accurate scale and to being transparent. Was hoping to change from .gif to .png, as from my reeading, the .png file is clearer.  My multi-functional devise scans to .tif or to .jpg ... but not to .gif or to .png.  Life is fun, isnt' it.

  • Manage stamps can no longer create transparent images

I created a dozen transparent stamps from TIFF and GIF images using Photoshop.
They all worked fine until very recently. Now when I try to create transparent stamps with Manage Stamps, it puts a solid background - no transparency even with images that previously worked.
Existing Transparent stamps when opened in Manage Stamps also lose transparency (if saved).
PDF format transparencies work with Manage Stamps but quality not as good as TIFF.
Not sure if a recent upgrade to Acrobat or Adobe CS5 or removal of Macromedia CS5 caused this - perhaps some common library got corrupted or removed.
Cannot find any clue about this with Google Search or anywhere within Adobe.
    Any help/hint would be appreciated.

You need to switch to the old "Options" page, by going to Other and the end of the left pane there. Or directly via this link:

  • Custom stamp images and print time

I've created a PDF of a page of sheet music output with fonts from a music notation program. From that I'm making a "sample" for my customers to view. I've added a text watermark. Up to this point everything is working well and the print spooling happens quickly.
However, I also want to add an image that looks like the torn corner of a page. To accomplish this, part of the image needs to be transparent so I've created both TIF (196k) and GIF (12k) versions of it in PhotoShop. Initially I tried to also add the image as a watermark but neither of these file formats are permitted with that function. Now I have created a custom stamp with each of these two images and saved files with both of them. They're about the same size ~180k.
My system (details below) is not exactly a rocket by today's standards but I do quite a bit of graphic work with it so I know what to expect in this regard. Sending the file with the TIF to print takes about 2:15 before printing begins. With the GIF it takes about 10 minutes. (I nodded off...)
I'm certainly open to other ideas about how to accomplish this. I could certainly save the file as a JPG, but because I need to keep the resolution quite high for both the text and music, the file sizes get quite a bit bigger.

I forgot to mention that those times reflect printing from within Acrobat. When I printed the TIF version from within Preview it took less than 30 seconds to start, but the transparent portion of the image did not appear completely transparent.

  • Why is the image in iMovie reversed?

Why is the image in iMovie reversed? My right hand shows as the left hand and what should be over my right shoulder shows as being over my left. I cannot find any info regarding this. When I open iChat the image is oriented correctly.

    it looks stretched taller.
I think you have Anamorphic material.
Start a new Sequence. Go to Sequence > Settings and click the Anamorphic checkbox.
Select a clip in the Browser. Press command and 9. Find Anamorphic in the column on the left.
Click next to it in the Clip column to place a check mark there too.
    Edit into the timeline.
    Does that look better?

  • Why is the clone stamp no longer transparent?

When I try to clone in versions beyond PS3 the clone stamp is not transparent. I can't see what's underneath, it got fuzzy pixels.
How can I set this to behave the way it used to.
    Thanks.
    MK

In the Window>Clone Source panel you can adjust how the overlay is shown.
For example, i usually have it set to show the overlay, clipped and opacity at 50%.
It's really a matter of preference though, so you might try some of the different settings and see which one(s) work for you
or you can simply turn the overlay off if that suits you.

  • Creating Custom Stamp

    Hello all.
I am working on Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. I am trying to create a custom stamp of my signature. When I import my signature , it shows up perfectly (reading horizontally, like I want it), but when I go to insert the stamp , it is rotating it 90 degrees clockwise for some reason (reading top to bottom). I know I can edit the stamp and make it horizontal again (reading left to right) but that is quite a hassle considering I use the stamp 6-10 times a day. I would really like to insert the stamp and just print the page. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this or why the stamp is rotating.
    Thank you in advance.

    I figured it out!
was having the same issue and it cost me half the morning at work.
when i was creating the stamp, i needed some comments and markups added and to "flatten it" i was printing it to PDF and then croping the page to the size i wanted and then importing it as a stamp. anyway, when i was printing to pdf, in the print dialogue box, in the section "Page Handling", the option "Auto-Rotate and Center" was checked, this was forcing my stamp to be centered and the page orientation to be landscape. For kicks n giggles, I unchecked it, the page orientation changed to Portrait and my stamp image went to the upper left. I cropped my result as I normally would, and upon creating the new custom stamp, it was right as rain. hope this helps!

  • HELP - Export Transparent Image in CS3

There used to be a very useful function in CS2 under Help which was Export Transparent Image. What happened to that function in CS3 and how the hell do I export transparent image now in CS3?
Please help, this is quite urgent.
    Thanks.

I hear what you are saying Noel... But I came to these forums in good  faith  with a question about a tool I found useful that was no longer available. I  admit I let my frustration show in my first several postings about this because  in the other topic on this issue, one of  the staffers here even tried to say  the function did not even exist. That in  combination with the attitude that 'anyone that would use this function must have no experience' or should be  using Photoshop Elements did not strike me as either very helpful or polite. I  would never let one of my staff treat a customer who came to us seeking help to act this way. It is inexcusable and I saw from the other postings that I am not the  only one who feels this way.
Here is a selction of a few of the things she said to me... she seems to have  confused me with someone else?
"Dear same idiot who feels the need to use PM to continue an  ended/locked/deleted forum discussion,"
"There  is no point in continual messaging unless you feel it is some sort of  release for your mental condition. Your message is clear. I have no problem  comprehending your words. I simply disagree with your insane  beliefs. I  understand fully who used the function and why it  was removed. I was simply stating a fact and offering an alternative that  you seemed to ignore. I don't care if the function meant something more  to you. Nothing I can  do is going to bring it back or afford you any better  people skills.  You need to get over this... and get over me"
"I  just found the Google cache of the closed thread and realized that you   may not be the same idiot that contacted me earlier using a fresh forum   account. But that still does not make you any less of an idiot."
"The  question posed in the forum was "How do I export transparent images in   CS5 like I did in CS4?" The question was "viable" and answers were given  by  others and myself. Just because you do not like an answer does not  mean you  have to act like a child."
"The answer was not to beg Adobe to bring it back in a user to user  forum. If you want to communicate with Adobe, go to their feature  request form."
"If you were a designer for 30 years, you would have known how to make a  transparent file prior to the Help function that Adobe added for a  few versions. With that Help function gone, you should now have the  intelligence to craft an action to do the same thing with the press of a  button. It  is not really a challenge. If you need assistance, bring this topic  back  to the public forum. Your rude PMs are worthless to us both."
"I look forward to further discussion in  the public forum where you don't need to hide your personal problems in  PMs."
I find these kind of responses by a staff member of Adobe forums to abusive  in nature. Granted after getting this kind of rude response back to my  questions, I returned in like kind. I usually do not have these kinds of  interactions online, I find them childish and a waste of time. They do nothing  for the greater good of the forums and help no one. but I don't take kindly to  being treated with disrespect.
I hope this does not exemplify the tenor of communication here on Adobe's  forums. If so... it would be a shame, because Adobe has a great reputation in  our community. It would be a shame to let a few individuals tarnish it.
I for one would prefer that the person is question has no further  communication with me. I think that would be best for all concerned. Thank  You.

  • Custom Stamp no longer worker in Acrobat X

I created a custom stamp using Adobe X; not sure it was working the way it was suppose to but it still met my needs.
I used a PDF form which I created using Word, added some form fields and saved it.
Added the PDF form file as a custom stamp.
Opened another PDF document and was able to insert the custom stamp.....and this is where I don't know if it really worked correctly or not.  The stamp was basically an image, none of the fields were accessible; I thought a PDF form would act like a dynamic stamp but it didn't work as I expected.
But if I opened the original PDF of the stamp and filled in the form fields & saved it and then inserted the custom stamp again, all the fields were updated/filled in.
But then for some reason my custom stamp disappeared from stamp pull down menu.  And now when I try to add it back it creates an anonymous PDF file with the current form fields filled in.  If I open the original PDF stamp and change any of the form fields and save it, the custom stamp doesn't update when I go and insert it again.
And if I delete that anonymous PDF file, my custom stamp again disappears from the stamp pull down menu.
This now happens with any PDF file I use to create a custom stamp; Acrobat X creates an anonymous PDF file.
If anyone has any idea how to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.
    GT

Behavior for PDFs is not handled by SharePoint, but rather Adobe Acrobat. Validate Adobe Acrobat's PDF browser extension has been disabled (you can do this via IE and I believe Adobe Acrobat has this option within it's own Preferences).

  • Importing transparent images into Indesign

    Hi guys,
Just started using Indesign cs6 and for the life of me can not work out how to import transparent pngs. All transparent images I import have their background changed to a white background. The image import options has an option to use transparency information, with either use white back ground (which is selected) or use file defined background colour.
I assume i should be using file defined background colour but its greyed out. Why is this option greyed out and how can I retain a transparent bg in my image? The image i'm importing is fireworks png file.
    Cheers,
Ps. First post, so go easy on me

I don't have Fireworks and I haven't made any Fireworks PNG files.
I'm not sure how they work. But I believe that Fireworks PNGs can contain editable layers for Fireworks use only.
This may be part of the issue of the transparent background - but as I say I have very limited knowledge of Fireworks.
What I will say with some degree of comfort is that PNG is primarily a web format - and it's not a print format. Adobe InDesign is a page layout tool intended for Print on mechanical presses - and it's only recently it's been geared towards Web, ePub and  Flash creation.
Perhaps the Fireworks PNG simply does not work with InDesign.
Can you save that Fireworks PNG from Fireworks to say a TIF of PSD? Which may be better for importing to InDesign.
The only other solution I can think of is to open that PNG file in Photoshop and save it as a Transparent PNG from there using File>Save for Web

  • Custom Stamps

I'm creating custom stamps in Acrobat 9 and it keeps rotating the image so that it comes out 90 deg clockwise.  I tried rotating the original pdf image 90 deg counterclockwise and it still comes out with the stamp rotated 90 deg clockwise (i.e. 180 deg from original).  All of the videos on the web show no rotation of the selected image.  What setting is screwing up the works for me?

Please re-post this to the proper forum. This is for Adobe Connect customers.

  • Stamp tool Paste clipboard image as stamp is greyed out & not selectable -

Stamp tool Paste clipboard image as stamp - This command is greyed out & not selectable - I have copied an image to the clipboard Acrobat X v10.1.4 o OS X 10.7.4 Lion does not find it.  Under OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard it worked
Has anyone else got this working with OSX 10.7.4 Lion with Acrobat X ?- Its a consistent problem for me on both my MacBookPro & IMac computers

Exactly, that feature was so valuable for me in previous versions.  I am not sure why someone who sells something would eliminate a feature that customers use. What person made that call?  They are probably working at Microsoft now making those "great products" (though I do like Excel, but only because they haven't changed it, esentially, for years...of course, how much can you really change a calculator?).
Please fix this Adobe...I would be your biggest fan

  • Transparent image causes flattening problem

    Hi,
I have a 34 page booklet that I am exporting as a swf file. When I add a transparent png file to the booklet (it makes the book look like it has a spiral binding) the file will NOT export anymore. It gets to page 17, quits and the error message says something like, "there was an error while flattening".
I can get the file to export if I check rasterize the images in the export dialog box. Just for added information, I did change the transparent png into a gif file and tried exporting that but I received the same error message. If you want to see the file it is located here
    http://www.sportop.com/flip-catalog/ThunderRidgeResortApparel.html
It is the spiral image that causes the problem. Any ideas why this is happening?
P.S. It looks like nothing is happening while the file is loading because I do not know how to add a pre-loader (my other problem).
One more thing, any idea why the file does NOT center is the html container page?
    Thank you for your help,
    Tricia

Sounds strange, I have used a lots of transparent images in INDD layouts and exported them as SWF succesfully. Have you tried to use Photoshop PSD-format? And you could also create a new layer for that spiral...
If you want to get your book centered and equipped with preloader, go to Adobe Marketplace and download eDocker:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/marketplace/index.cfm?event=marketplace.offering&offeringid=1 7503&marketplaceid=1
You may use it for couple of days free of charge!
If you have your SWF exported and ready, it takes only about 20 seconds to build a version with preloader and many other cool stuff too, like zooming...

Adobe Creative Cloud Muse: Why I don't receive anymore the email from the forms I created in several websites?

    Hello Sanjit,
    thank you for replying.
I had the problem on this website, I have two forms, one simple and the other more sofisticated:
    www.oeso.org
(at the bottom I have a simple contact form) and
    I created also a form on www.oeso.org/new-membership.html
but i didn't receive any reply so
I put the form on my website (architecturevisualdesign.ch) in a hidden form:
    http://architecturevisualdesign.ch/oeso-new-membership.html
and here I receive the OESO New Membership Form Submission reply.
    Thank you for your help.
