Adobe X Failure to launch
I downloaded Adobe X, but it refuses to launch. I see the Akamai installer is a 32 bit program, and I guess Acrobat X is too. Can this failure to launch be a conflict with my 64 bit Wndows 7 os?
There is no conflict of Acrobat X with Windows 7 64 bit , we would like to know what exactly is the error message and when did you get it.?

Adobe Bridge Failure to Launch
I have CS4 Design Premium for Mac. As of this morning, as soon as I launch Adobe Bridge, it immediately shuts down. I have restarted my computer twice, checked for software updates and am out of ideas. Any ideas? Bridge has always been a little glitchy on my system (some viewer modes cause the software to shut down on occasion). Help?
1}I would say uninstall it, clean out any trace of it, reboot, check for any updates reboot, and reinstall, leave defualt location where it installs itself!
2} look for maybe an older version, you can find one anywhere like www.kat.com try that working it from the bottom on up! even if you have to start at 1.0, let mwe know how that goes! -
Hey,
I have a "failure to launch" message that appears when I try to launch Adobe GoLive 5.0, a message that wasn't there yesterday (..wha?). It reads "Failure to launch GoLive 5 because SCL 2.0 could not be found". I've re-installed GL 5 but am still getting the message. This is an app that I've been running in Classic without a hitch, up til now. Can anyone help me understand what "SCL 2.0" is ?Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Do you have a backup to compare your machine to from when it did work? Perhaps you disabled an extensions necessary for it to work. -
Adobe Premiere Pro CC launches for some users, but crashes for others.
I am troubleshooting an issue in a college computer lab. Adobe Premiere Pro CC launches perfectly for some users, but crashes for others. All computers are joined to a domain. The program launches successfully under faculty and admin accounts. It launches under my student account and will launch for some students in the class. There are, however, some students who cannot get the program to launch. Each time it fails when attempting to load ImporterQuickTime.prm.
For these students, the following error appears:
Adobe Premiere Pro CC has stopped working
Check Online for a solution and close the program (Tried this nothing seems to come of it)

I did check Quicktime and it is not updated to the most recent version. However, if it was a result of Quicktime not being up to date, why can some accounts launch the program while others cannot. I have also updated the graphics driver on one computer. No change. I compared my student Active Directory account to that of one student who could not launch the program. They are in exactly the same place in AD and therefore have the same permissions on the domain. This is a puzzling issue and the instructor is getting frustrated. Any help or suggestions with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
-BarbI have no idea, other than what I said about the program's design requirement for an Admin account and "sometimes" problems on any other account
About the only thing I can suggest is a "remote control" chat session... when a student with a non-working account is having problems
Creative Cloud chat support (all Creative Cloud customer service issues)

Adobe CC won't launch, Photoshop freezes immediately after launch, help!
Hello, I would appreciate any suggestions on how to solve this issue. It started with Photoshop CC freezing, as in spinning color wheels of death immediately after launch. I have tried launching with a file, without a file, from Lightroom, independently, nothing works, but spinning wheel until I force quit.
So I tried to update, thinking it wpould help. Adobe CC won't launch at all, no error message, no force quit, just nothing happens. I tried uninstalling both, but unistall just hangs, bouncing in the dock for all eternity until I force quit. The Adobe Application Manager will not launch, and also hangs until a force quit.
The machine is a MacPro OSX 10.7.5 with 3.2 GHz Quad-Core 8GB with no other issues. I have done no updates, no new programs, apps, fonts or plugins in weeks, and the Adobe CC stuff has been working until two days ago. No other issues with the machine I have noticed, and Lightroom and PS CS6 are both working as usual. Restarts have no effect.
I have attempted to start PS CC using command-shift-option thinking the preferences might be causing an issue, but got the same hanging result. Renaming the OOBE file has not worked. Help!Have you had any luck with this? I've been experiencing the same since Creative Cloud started... happens with all creative cloud apps. I removed the creative cloud desktop app as that was the most troublesome and would often hang everything after waking from sleep. Helped a little but waking from sleep still creates the issue and I have to restart the computer. If I do get an app working and I go to update through the help menu, that app hangs. I've read in other discussions that you need to change the user (which is ******** and very time consuming) but like an idiot I did that and... surprise, suprise, same problem. Never seen adobe come back on this one.

Failure to Launch since Leopard install
Since installing leopard 10.5.2 I can't launch idvd (version4). I am constantly given the error message "failure to launch" Any suggestions? Are there any downloads that may be able to fix it?
Hi
NO - there is no solution.
You need a version more modern than iDVD 5 to be able to run under Mac OS X.5 !
No there are no download-fixes.
alt. Partioning the hard disk or use another FW external one with an older Mac OS
and start (boot) from this when doing DVDs.

Adobe Illustrator will not launch when Flash is running
A few of our users have reported that once Flash is running Adobe Illustrator will not launch. We are moving from Windows XP SP2 to Windows XP SP3. The version of both Illustrator and Flash is CS2 (will be upgraded later to CS3).
This used to work on SP2 - anyone can give some hints on this?Nobody ever solved this

Adobe Epic_App cannot be launched at this time?
Hi there
I installed Adobe InDesign CS3 then CS4 today - when i open Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 - it says Adobe Epic_App cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component (such as Adobe Photoshop) before launching Epic_App.
Even if i open an InDesign document - it still comes up with this message.
How do i fix this?
ThanksHi ,
I would like to inform you that this typically associated with a licensing error .You might want to refer the following document even though it is for Acrobat 9 .Please have a look and see if that helps.

Adobe apps fail to launch after copying via ARD 3
For several years we have beeen updating our Adobe apps by updating our master image and copying (via ARD v.1, then v.2, now v. 3) the applications and the associated Application Support files to the target machines. (300 Macs running Tiger) Since upgrading to version 3 of ARD. Adobe apps fail to launch after they are replaced, even with the old files.
I found a post alluding to a known issue with Acrobat from June. It stated it was a known bug that engineering was aware of. THAT was the only mention I could find. Does anyone know anything more about this? This is critical for our publishing workflow - Adobe has two updates that affect us in critical areas that we need to implement, but are reluctant to visit 300 individual desktops (even remotely) and run individual install patches.
The silent install works great for installation, but does not address updates.
Anyone?

Adobe Lightroom2 won't launch properly
I've recently installed Adobe Lightroom2 on my G4PB and it's having problems. When I try to open the app I get an error message "An error occurred when attempting to change modules" and this comes up after the (empty) Lightroom window opens - an empty central window, no side panels and though the modules appear on the upper right clicking on any just produces that same error message.
What I've tried so far:
Repairing permissions and verifying disk (which was ok - no problems found).
Trashing pref files for both Lightroom1 and 2.
Logging in with shift key - no login items
None of this worked.
Logging in as another user in a clean troubleshooting account - and this works! Normal Lightroom and no error message.
So it seems to be some conflict in my User folder, but I haven't a clue what. Lightroom1 had no problems previously. What has changed since is I've installed the latest Apple Security Update, but that would be system wide so if the app works when logging into another account, it can't be that.
Is anybody else seeing this issue? Any suggestions what to try next?
thanks,
ncmI reinstalled Lightroom2 after trashing everything associated with it including the package receipt. Before installing I rebooted and logged in with shift key - no login items loaded - ran Repair Permissions and Verify Disk and all was well. Still get the same error message. Then quit and tried relaunching with option key and made a new catalog. No difference. Then opened Console and it had a log of the preceedings. See if anything makes any sense to you:

I am trying to invoke remote debugger on an Azure worker role cloud service, following the example of
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/ff683670.aspx
But on attaching the remote debugger for the cloud service instance
Microsoft Visual Studio
There was a failure to launch the remote debugger.
OK
According to somebody else's extra coverage on the topic, there are extra ports 4016/4017 that need to be taken care of (but do they have to be exposed externally)?
http://developers.de/blogs/damir_dobric/archive/2014/02/04/behind-windows-azure-remote-debugger.aspx
So servicedefinition.csdef gets

But all these are to no avail; the same error still pops for Visual Studio 2013 Update 4; Azure SDK 2.3
Anybody regularly perform remote debugging for Azure cloud services?
The melody of logic will always play out the truth. ~ Narumi Ayumu, SpiralAnd, how do I control that in Visual Studio?
All I get is the Attach Debugger... context menu option in the Azure cloud service nodes in Server Explorer. That is where it is failing. There are no customisable options.
Because of that, the Attach to Process dialog box is unable to retrieve the list of processes (to debug) in the remote worker role instance server.
I tested a blank-template worker role project and published to a new cloud project, and this simplistic copy had no problems with the Remote debugger.
Now the question is, what is it about this real-world project/cloud service that is different from blank sample? From what I compare between what I think are the relevant settings, there are none.

Adobe Creative Suite 4 Launch Failures
We had a physical hard drive failure.
We put in a new Hard Drive. Running Windows XP.
We had to reinstall Adobe CS4.
Programs worked for a couple of days and then some began to fail to launch.
Acrobat and Photoshop are not launching. InDesign launches sometimes.
Seeking assistance in getting us running again.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. You have a virus, your security tools are over-zealous or a hardware issue with your harddrive controller is corrupting the prefs of the programs. Trash them and see if it improves matters.

Adobe XI doesn't launch in Outlook 2010 preview... AppSence
Problem...
I am currently working as a tempory engineer for a company in the UK. They are using Win 7 desktops, Citrix & AppSence for application management. I do not have any access to the Appsence setup... though i beleive from testing AppSence is causing the issues. They are:
1. Cannot use preveiw in outlook 2010... for any pdf. This will either become non responsive or error.
2. Cannot launch pdfs.
3. Cannot Launch pdfs for internal system.
After much testing. I discovered that if there was already an AcroRd32.exe running before trying to atempt 1, 2 & 3 (above) then it was succesful. If not then failure, unresponsive pc or errors would occur.
Yes it is possible that the original Adobe XI package was poorly put together!!! However 'id do not have access... blah, blah" i think you are getting the picture.
As i do not have access to this companys Appsence, AD\GP etc... i have created initially a batch file & then a reg hack that will lauch AcroRd32.exe on login. This fixes the problem but leaves either a cmd prompt open or the splash screen open... though minimised. Can i therefore ask the following:
What switch can i apply after AcroRd32.exe to lauch it but not the application splash screen?
Thanks in advance...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"AdobeFix"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Adobe\\Reader 11.0\\Reader\\AcroRd32.exe /h"I did some testing on this whole Personal Archive thing as even when using a new version and new license key the archive wasn’t showing in Outlook 2010 (yet was showing in OWA).
So I setup two machines (VMs) running Windows 7 Ultimate.
One was x64 and the other x86 but vanilla installs.
Installed Office 2010 Professional Plus download from TechNet (the iso image with both x86 and x64 versions on it).
Installed the lastest Office updates published via MS Update.
Used the same license key for both installs of Office.
Exchange 2010 backend running SP1.
When the machines are not in a domain the archive doesn’t show in Outlook (both x86 and x64).
Pop the machines into the same AD domain as the Exchange server and hey presto the archive shows on both Outlook versions (x86 and x64).
Just to check things I removed them from the domain - archive folder missing again.
Re-added back to domain - archive folder shows.
It seems for the TechNet version anyhow the machine should be in a domain.
I can’t comment on other versions/license keys.

Some workstations not allowing Adobe Bridge CS3 application launch
Hi all.
I'm pretty new at helping manage a MIDI/art lab at a high school campus (not new to Macs, but new to this issue).
We have a student login for an art class where students should have complete access to the Adobe CS3 suite of applications. The account is logging in on a server, running apps on the local hard drives, and an entire class of students all log in at once. We've tried to keep all the iMacs current in terms of Adobe updates and other software updates.
The problem is this: there are four iMacs which - in spite of all updates being equal, and the fact that all users are logging into a network account (thus all having the same set of rules, permissions, and restrictions) - fail to allow students to use Adobe Bridge. At these four stations, launching Bridge gets this error:
+*The Application "Bridge CS3" is not allowed.*+
+"Bridge CS3"is not on the approved list of applications. Contact the person who set up your account for more information.+
We've tried several things, including running Adobe updater (again), Apple software update, and resetting/trashing Bridge's prefs.
Again, every user should be experiencing the same permissions and restrictions, and this issue seems to be tied to hardware as it only applies on four of the iMacs. Logging in as an administrator or a local account with full permission allows clear access to Bridge. However, we need the Art Class account to work on all our stations as students use Bridge regularly for class.
Any input and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
(By the way, these are Intel iMacs running, I would presume, Snow Leopard. The model and OS info shown below are my machine, not the lab stations.)Curt Y. Thank you for your answer.
It was only Bridge who was crashing. It failed to load and Windows was giving an error message.
I tried your suggestion, and resetting all options in the reset window it now loads. It was as simple as that.
