Adobe X Issue Printing to 11x17

I just updated my Adobe this morning to Adobe X, and have encountered some issues with the Print function. I have to print a lot of ANSI C, D, and E sized documents to ANSI B (or 11x17) as a part of my job. When I went to do so this morning, my "Preview: Composite" showed a letter sized document in the window. Attempting to click on the "Properties" button resulted in nothing, as with attempting to click on the "Page Setup" button. All other buttons (ie. "Printing Tips", "Advanced", and "Summerize Comments") seem to work. In order to override this, I changed all preferences on my default printer (HP LaserJet 5100) to 11x17. The Preview still showed a letter sized document. As a last ditch effort, I tried to just right click -> "Print" from My Documents, but this produced "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" dialogue box. Further, I have the same problem with all the HP printers at work - HP-4600, HP-5500, HP-CP3505; but the Oce TDS450 (which doesn't print anything smaller than ANSI C) seems to work fine. I would rather stay with Adobe X than go through the process of reinstalling Adobe 9.4, but it is rather inconvenient to ask my coworker to print any pdf's I require to 11x17. Has anyone had the same issue and managed to solve it?

FYI: To anyone following this... I ended up trying to reinstall Adobe Reader X, and I still had the same issue that when I try to print, none of the network HP printers are recognized. I didn't have any luck resolving this issue, so I went back to Adobe Reader 9.4 and I am able to print again. Seems glitchy, if you ask me.

  • Issue printing labels in Adobe form via Datamax printer

    Hi,
We have developed an Adobe form which contains a barcode for the label.
This label gets printed fine when we print it on the printers in the office headquarters.
However, at the plant location where it is supposed to be printed, the labels are not getting printed.
The printer at the plant location is Datamax H-4212.
Any idea what's wrong? Will the Adobe form need to be changed for this?
    Please help.

    Hi,
Which device type do you use to create the spool and print? Only the device types described in the following note are possible with Adobe forms:
    685571 - Printing PDF-based forms
I suggest you try with device type PDF1 and SAPPDFPRNT as per SAP note 1444342.

  • Adobe 9 standard print preview not updating

I am having a issue with Adobe 9 stardard on win7 64bit. The issue is happening on more then on pc. The issue is, when the page size is changed in the print menu, by clicking the properties button. The preview of the document does not update to the page size that I chose. For instance the user is usually changing the page size to 11 x 17 and when they choose that the preview does not change the 11x17, but when they print it will print at 11x17. Is there anything that I can do so that the preview image updates. If they go back in and change the paper size again it updates the preview image.
    Thank You

    Hi Sonika,
That is not required functionality. it should display a Adobe Form for Invoice processing.
I doubt there might be some problem with ADS configuration.
Can you please do the following test and let me know the result ?
If the Adobe Interactive Forms have been installed correctly, the
following tests should run without errors:
    First test:
    1) Call transaction SE38.
    2) Enter the report name "FP_PDF_TEST_00" and choose "Execute" (or press F8).
    3) Enter "ADS" in the entry field for the connection, and choose
    "Execute" (or press F8).
    4) The system should issue a dialog box containing the current version
    information.
    Second test:
    1) Call transaction SE38.
    2) Enter the report name "FP_TEST_00" and choose "Execute" (or press
    F8).
    3) Enter "FP_TEST_00" for the form, "2" for the number of output pages,
and "ADS" for the ADS connection. The choose "Execute".
    4) Enter a valid output device and choose "Print Preview".
    5) The Adobe Reader should be displayed in the GUI, and display two
    pages with numbered lines.
    Third test:
    1) Call transaction SE38.
    2) Enter the report name "FP_TEST_IA_01" and choose "Execute" (or press
    F8).
    3) Enter "FP_TEST_IA_01" for the form, "ADS" for the ADS connection, and
any data in the other entry fields (these are already filled with
default values). Then choose "Execute" (or press F8).
    4) Enter a valid output device and choose "Print Preview".
    5) The Adobe Reader should be displayed in the GUI, and display a page
    with address fields.
    6) Scroll down to the frame for the new address, and fill in those
    fields.
At the end of the form, an entry field for the date and a value help
exists. Choose the input help button and check if the system displays
    the datepicker.
Now you will know yourself if there is any problem with ADS configuration.
    Cheers

  • Issue printing PDF Packages

I'm having issues printing PDF Packages.Clients have contacted us stating that our PDF Packages don't print properly. Essentially they were only able to print the "coversheet" and nothing else. I ran some test scenarios and noted that PDF Packages print feature behaved differently depending on several criterias:
how it was viewed (ie: desktop, Firefox browser, IE browser)
    what Adobe Reader Plugin
what command was used to access print feature (ie: file>print, ctrl + P, print icon)
So far I've noticed that Adobe Reader utilizes two versions of the Print Dialog Box. The first one shows four choices for "Print Range" (All, Current View, Current Page, Pages...) seems to always be misconfigured and does not print as intended. The second one I've noticed seems to limit your Print Range choices (All, Current View) which usually works.
This seems to be an Adobe bug. This Print Bug exists on both Acrobat 8 and 9, and the bug may or may not exist depending on how you view the "PDF Package" (ie: Desktop, Firefox, IE).
If you open the PDF Package on your desktop and view via Adobe Reader for the most part it prints as expected for "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents". Although the "Print Range" is misaligned (ie: "Print All" behaves as "Current View", "Current View" behaves as "Current Page".
If you open the PDF Package on a browser with an Adobe Reader plugin, a different scenario occurs.
You might experience that you're locked into printing only the "coversheet" of the PDF Package.
And again your "Print Range" might be misaligned.
In Adobe Reader 8, a dropdown appeared when you selected "File>Print" or the "Print Icon". The dropdown then gave you an option to "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents". Which basically provided you an option to print the entire "PDF Package" or choose to print only a section of the "PDF Package".
In Adobe Reader 9, the option to choose between "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents" was removed.
In fact I started to document the instances to see if its an isolated issue and it looks like it fails to print (as intended) 60% of the time. Of the 40% that does print as intended... it looks like half the time the "Print Range" is misconfigured.
Also, I've noticed that Reader utilizes two different "Print Dialog" boxes.
The testing scenario I set up was that you can print in three different ways:
        1. File>Print
        2. <ctrl + P>
        3. <print icon>
Three ways to view the PDF package:
        1. Download PDF Package & view on your desktop via Adobe Reader
        2. View PDF Package on Firefox w/ Adobe Reader plugin
        3. View PDF Package on Internet Explored  w/ Adobe Reader plugin
    My computer is using:
XP Pro SP3,  Acrobat Reader 9
    I've also spot tested on:
XP Pro SP3, Acrobat Reader 8
    Vista, Acrobat Reader 8
    Any Ideas?

    Hi Greg,
Since this is sytem defined settings that you are trying to implement, I presume that the INI changes ought to be done in FSISYS.INI rather than the FSIUSER.INI.
Apart from that most of your INI changes look fine as we are also using pdf as our Output type. Please find the INI change swe have implemented in our system for printing pdf.

  • Error message in Adobe Pdf in printer device panel when trying to create a pdf document.  I have CS3

Error message in Adobe Pdf in printer device panel when trying to create a pdf document.  I have CS3 Web Premium with Acrobat Professional 8.  I use it fine on my old computer with Windows XP.  I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7.  I installed all my Adobe programs, and I think they are working.  When I look at Adobe PDF in the device section of the Control Panel it looks okay.  But when I try to print a Word, Photoshop, or HTML page in PDF, nothing happens.  I have tried printing both as File>print and using the PDF tab on the top menu bar.  I look at the device in the control panel and it has the yellow error warning symbol and suggests trying to troubleshoot.  I look at the document list and it says status "error".  When I try troubleshooting Windows suggests doing some Home Sharing and also suggests canceling the document I'm trying to print.  I tried re-installing just Acrobat 8 from CS3 (and have to use Photoshop CS4 disk for shared documents I guess).  I ran into a can't locate adobepdf_dll file, so did a web search on this issue and found a suggestion that I find and use the adobepdf_dll_64 file and may have to (I did have to) remove the "_64" for it to work.  I think I successfully reinstalled using that dll file- no errors came up anyway.  But still when I try printing/converting a photoshop, webpage, or word document into pdf, the pdf device in control panel still gives the error status on the document and gives the same troubleshooting advice.  Help?

I just compared the properties between the two computers.  On the old computer it has the port as "My Documents/*.pdf".  On my new computer it lists the port as "LPT1".  I tried changing the port to "Print as File", but when I try printing a photoshop picture as pdf, I get a "Access Denied".  I then tried to create a new port on the device control panel.  I tried to create a local port "My Documents/*.pdf" port but was denied.  I ten tried to create a new port type and control panel asked for an INF file.  I wonder if this is where my problem lies.  Thoughts?

  • HOW DO I PRINT AN 11X17 DOCUMENT AS AN 11X17 PDF?

Hello -- I have a drawing in MicroSofft Visio that was created with a page size of 11"x17".  When I preview that drawing, it looks exactly like what I want -- a landscape image on 11x17 virtual paper, with 1/4 inch margins on all sides.  However, when I use Adobe Acrobat to print to a PDF, it automatically creates a letter-sized image from the Visio file.  The resultinf PDF file has wasted space, because the image is resized to fit a smaller printable area, and it is not ready to send to a printer capable of printing on 11x17 paper.  I would like to use Acrobat to print this Visio file to a virtual (PDF) 11x17 page, and then I would like Acrobat Reader to print that PDF on real 11x17 paper (using an appropriate printer and paper).  How do I do that?
Also -- I do not want to print a letter-sized copy and get that enlarged, because it will lose resolution.  There is a lot of important fine print.  Likewise, I do not want to tile several pages to make up the proper image, because that is added work and because the edges will have some distortion that I will have to align carefully and because the result will not be a single large page that I can take into a meeting.
I am using MS Visio Professional 2002 (with SP-2), Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.5, and MS Windows Vista Home Premium.
Thanks very much for your help -- CPI-John

    Drew --
Thnaks for your rteply, but that does not seem to have worked -- at least
    not for me.
If you can open a Visio file (I have MS Visio Professional 2002 with SP-2),
then please see the attached 2 files, which I put together to try to get
17x11 pages to print.  You can see that the Visio dummy is right at 11x17,
but the PDF is distorted.  Those are in Portrait (which I can rotate to get
Landscape, even though it would be distorted relative to the Visio
original).  When I tried it in Landscape, the image was in landscape, but
the page was in portrait, with about 1/2 of the image missing (because it
extended beyond that page).  It is as if Acrobat is saying that pages this
large must be in portrait and will be resized to fit some requirement.
Anyway, that is the best that I have been able to do so far.

We are trying to implement a process so that any document that needs to be printed through our Java application will be printed as PDF using Adobe Reader. • Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer

I have a subscription to Adobe CreatePDF.  I've downloaded the Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer and can see it in my list of printers.  However, when I try to print a doc using the Desktop Printer, the doc doesn't print and  I get 'error' under status.  I've tried reinstalling the Desktop Printer but that hasn't helped.  Can you advise?

I had this same problem.  I'm running Windows 7, Service Pack 1.  That was the problem.  After countless times installing and uninstalling the Desktop Printer, with no success fixing the problem, I finally came across a notice from Adobe that Windows 7, Servicce Pack 1 is to blame.  The only fix is to go to Microsoft and download a hotfix for the issue.  Microsoft will email you a link to the hotfix.  The hotfix is downloaded as a zip file. I recommmend extracting it to your desktop and then double clicking the extracted file.  (The default extraction process wanted to dump it somewhere I couldn't ever find on my system.  That's why I recommend extracting to your desktop.)
After a system restart, the Desktop Printer should work just fine.  It did for me.
This is the link Microsoft emailed to me:
    http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%207/Windows%20Server2008%20R2%20SP1/sp2/Fix381852/76 00/free/437635_intl_x64_zip.exe
You can also try searching for KB Article Number: 2616471
Even though, this is a Microsoft issue, I'm very angry that Adobe doesn't have the courtesy to save us all a bunch of headache by including a disclaimer and/or instructions for the hotfix next to the install Desktop Printer instructions.  I mean, isn't the majority of Adobe's customers running Windows 7, Service Pack 1?  What a freaking waste of my time it was to go through this hassle.

  • Adobe Create PDF printer not working fully!

    Hi all!
I have a minor problem with Adobe Create PDF printer. I installed and I was able to print couple word docs, but stopped working.
I dont know why. I am still able to print web pages and others, but cant "print" pdf from word, ooutlook, Autocad, etc.
It is stopped working correctly after I tried to print from Autocad, also I have had problems with activating my Photoshop sub and Adobe support made same changes to my AAM and Photoshop, may be that is what caused my problem, I don't know, neither does support. Support has no other idea we went thru every detail but still can't use Create PDF correctly.
    Any ideas?
I have already installed this hotfix:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/createpdf-desktop-printer-windows-7.html
    But still no solution.

    Hi Pleso
Can you login to this website https://createpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html using same account?
Please email me directly at [email protected] and we can do a online session to troubleshoot this issue.

  • Re: Issue printing borderless on my 7610 printer

I'm having the same issue on my Mac, but I'm running osx 10.7.  I'm not able to upgrade, computer is too old.
It cuts off the top part of the page when printed from Adobe.

Hi @TeamFinney and welcome to the HP Forums!
Just for curiosity, does the page get cut off in any other program?
What if you print from TextEdit, as it's a built in program?
If it's only cutting off the page from Adobe, the issue may just be isolated to Adobe then. If that is the case, all other printing appears fine, please try performing a reset of your printing system (don't re-add the printer just yet) and then perform a verify/repair of your disk permissions. Once those tasks complete, restart the Mac and re-add the printer to the queue. Any changes?
You can also try updating your Adobe to ensure it's running as smoothly as it is able to as well
Please let me know if that helps at all!

  • IE 11 and Adobe Reader 9 print Error - HELP

    Hello,
At the company I work for we are trying to see if upgrading to IE 11 will work for us. Currently the ERP system we use requires a certain version of Adobe Reader, which is 9. I have done testing with XI, but no avail. Also this ERP system requires that we use IE as well (ugh) though we need IE 11 for another product. Everything works fine until trying to print a pdf from the browser, we get this print dialog which doesn't allow us to print and everything is all jumbled up. The only option is to save the pdf and print from Adobe Reader. My question is, how do we fix this and is this an Adobe Reader issue or IE?

    This has helped me:
Close all instances of Internet Explorer
    Start Adobe Reader
Go to the "Help" menu and click "Repair Adobe Reader"
Try again and see if the problem is still there.
I experienced the problem when upgrading Internet Explorer from 9 to 11.

  • Adobe won't print from Excel etc

Having installed Adobe Acrobat v 10 Standard on my new desktop, printing documents to adobe is just not happening. If you open acrobat and create a pdf from the same file, it works, as does the Acrobat option on Excel etc (to create). However, selecting
Adobe as the printer, doesn't seem to work at all - no docs in queue etc, won't even 'print' a test page. Same settings/ports etc on another computer (laptop) works Ok. Windows 7 Office 2007. Any ideas?

    Hi,
According to your description, it seems that you can not print documents through Adobe Acrobat directly.
Did you try to print Office file stand alone?  Did you update the latest printer driver in your new desktop?

  • Adobe Reader X prints large black spots in large documents

I have a user with Windows XP SP3 and Adobe Reader X.  When he prints a catalog with images, it randomly prints large black spots throughout the document.  If I print one of the individual pages that had black spots, it prints fine.  Are there any known issues that would cause this or does anyone have any suggestions?  He is printing to a Toshiba eStudios 5520c copier.  No one else has the problem printing to this printer but, he is the only one using Adobe Reader to print catalogs to this printer.  Everyone else printing catalogs to this printer use at least Adobe Pro of some version (the versions differ between users).  I have increased the size of the page file and reinstalled the printer driver.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks for providing the information.
Could you please try and reinstall the printer driver on this user's machine and see if it solves the issue.
Also, do all PDFs with images produce the same output from this user's machine?
Would it be possible for you to share any such PDF? I have sent you my email address as a Private Message.

We recently upgraded to Leopard and have come up with an issue printing to our Docucolor 5000. When printing multiple copies of a page set up for landscape from AI CS3 or CS4 the first page prints okay. On subsequent pages the paper has flipped to protrait, although the are remains in landscape. Any thoughts on how to overcome this?

    Driver: Fiery Docucolor 5000 v2.0

Hello Terry. We had the same problems with our Canon printers that use the Fiery print controller. After blaming Adobe for the problem EFI, the makers of the Fiery, released a patch and updated driver that resolved this orientation problem. So I suggest you contact your Xerox support to see if they have these same fixes for your model of Fiery. Or you could check the EFI web site for any updates.
