Adobe X Pro Excel Dates Conversion Incorrect

Question

When I save a table to an Excel worksheet, dates such as 11-Jul-12 are converted to 11-7-12 in Albanian date format.  Correct date should be 7/11/12.  Moreover, the month and dates would interchange every so often.   I was not able to convert to the correct format by changing to English (USA).   I was stuck with whatever serial number was used for the date and had to manually go through each date one by one.
Then on dates and times like 7/21/2012 10:30, it shows up as a general, not date, format.  Excel would not recognze it as a date or even text.  However, I discovered that if I re-enter the "7" in 7/21/2012, Excel would automatically recognize it as a date time.  This is very strange.
Any suggestion how I can make Adobe X Pro correctly convert dates as dates and to be in the right country format?

You could try checking the conversion options by clicking on the down arrow
on the Convert icon toolbar in the browser
Jean Notte and choose Preferences. In the Conversion Settings dialog box you
will see a button labelled Settings. Click on Settings, and make sure the
box is checked to convert images.
