Adobe X Pro - forms

I am trying to create a new form. It takes me to the Adobe Forms Central.  I found a template I like and made my changes.  It will not let me save it as a pdf without paying for an account.
How can I use templates in my Adobe X Pro that I already own without having to pay for a forms central account?

Hi;
I wanted to double check if you are using Acrobat Pro X or Acrobat Pro XI.
If you are using Acrobat Pro X it does not give you any extra features with FormsCentral, you would have to either have a paid FormsCentral account or upgrade your Acrobat to Acrobat XI.
If you are using Acrobat Pro XI (or if you were to pay a one time upgrade fee instead of the monthly FormsCentral subscription) you could use the included "FormsCentral Desktop application" and save forms as PDF.  Singing into the web site would not give you that feature, only using the desktop application, it is something you get with your Acrobat XI purchase...  So if you do have Acrobat XI and tried to save PDF from the web site, simply launch the FormsCentral application from Acrobat (I can give you more detail on how to run the application if needed) and you will have the option to save PDF.
I hope that clarifies, let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Josh

  • Adobe 9 Pro Forms-email results

I have adobe 9 pro and am making an electronic form. I would like when the user hits submit for it to email an address. My issue is I can't have it be an attachment, is there any way to configure the form to email the field names with the input?

You can have then submit the .xml (information from the form fields only) then import it into the original form on your end but, it will still be an attachment.
Have you considered creating a web form that will generate an email to you that contains all the information from the form fields and nothing else?
Seems to me that having something like that on your company intranet would be best.

  • Adobe X Pro Form Fields

In Acrobat 8, I was able to justify a form field to left, center, or right and also vertically justify the field box to either top, center, or bottom.  Right now, all my form fields are vertically centered.  I want teh form field when filled to be bottom aligned to it prints on the lines of my form.
I can't figure out the new Adobe X...the old way was much easier.   Any help?

Text fields created in LiveCycle Designer allow that. Text fields created in Acrobat can be vertically centered or bottom aligned, but only if it's set up for rich text formatting and the user selects it. The point is you as the form creator cannot set the vertical justification for a field created in Acrobat.

  • Pre-Populate Text Filed Adobe X Pro Form

    All,
I appreciate any assistance you can give. I am looking for a way to have text fields pre-populate information after a user selects an item from a dropdown menu.
    For example:
Dropdown menu 1: User selects South Carolina
Drop Down menu 2: User selects product name
Text fields populate with the product information.
Dropdown 1 and 2 will dictate what product information will be displayed.
Is this possible? I have attached a screen shot to see what I am looking to do.  Please let me know!  Thank you!!!

The product information would have to be in the form and not linked to an external source. So lets say the user selects SC on dropdown 1. They then select Timberline on dropdown 2. The SC selection will be rule to have a specific set of product options to have in the dropdown. When the user selects Timberline in dropdown 2, the information in the text fields would have to auto-populate for information only available in the SC state and that specific product.
For text box 1 (header is Colors Available) this would generate the words Black, White, Green, Blue. These would be loaded possibly in that text box? These colors are available for SC.  Now, if the user would select NC in dropdown 1, and Timberline in dropdown 2, it would display a different set of colors available in text box 1 (Colors Available) such as Orange, Grey, etc.
This is essential how it would work for the text fields. The triggers would be based on the state and product selected in the drop down boxes which would autopopulate the rest of the text boxes per section.
Does this help?  Thank you for the reply.

I have purchased Adobe XI Pro and created a form for entering bowling scores to submit to newspaper for my high school team.  I can not figure out how to get pdf's into my documents folder on my iPad so that I can access the files in bowling alleys where I do not have a Wi-Fi connections.  I need to be able access files without going to acrobat.com.  Help!!!@

Post the PDF files to a web site. The browse to them in Safari on the iPad.  When you Open the files specify the Open to occur in Adobe Reader.  Then you can have/Save them in your Documents folder on the iPad.   An iPad has limited access to files otherwise.

  • Fill in form created in Adobe 8 (Mac) and then trying to send out from PC with adobe 9 pro

I created a form using adobe acrobrat 8 pro on a mac (everything works and we have used in the past).  I need to send it out from a PC which has adobe acrobat pro 9.  I can open the form, view it and use the distribute feature (via email option).  Then I send it out and when we test the completed form coming back to the email on the PC (using a submit button option), it opens the PDF file, you can view the filled in data on the PDF however the dialog box that normally opens asking if you want to download or import the data does not appear, not even the form tracker dialog box appears - nothing happens.  You can't seem to do anything with the data from the form.  You can only view it. We need to be able to collect it in one file, and then export to a CSV.
Is there some compability issue between forms created between two platforms, and two different versions?
Am I missing a step on a PC.  I am not very familiar with a PC's and it doesn't seem to be as drag and drop oriented as a mac.
Do  I need to rebuild the form on the PC using adobe acrobat pro 9?

Please post this in the Acrobat support area, you'll get a better answer!

  • How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central.

How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central. It's for an online Diet Questionnaire. After people complete the form I'd like them to click "SUBMIT" and the completed form will be emailed to me.

This can be a bit confusing because Acrobat 11 comes with the desktop app that allows you to create simple PDF forms without having a FormsCentral account. Some people find this helpful, but you need to understand that when you generate the PDF form, it is Reader-enabled by Acrobat. In order to edit the form further in Acrobat, you have to create a non-enabled copy of the form. You do this in Acrobat by opening the form and selecting: File > Save a Copy
and opening the copy. It is not opened automatically.
You can now add a button and set it up to submit by email, either using a "Submit a form" action or the submitForm JavaScript method. You can set it up to include just the form data or the entire PDF, and will want to use a mailto type URL. Submitting the form to the FormsCentral server has a number of important advantages over email (much more reliable, more secure, etc.), so you might want to consider it.
If the form needs to be saved with Reader versions prior to 11, then you will need to Reader-enable the document. In Acrobat 11 you do this by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 Won't Let me Save a Filled PDF Form

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 to fill out financial forms for my budget and finance department. The thing is, I can only print the form out when completed, but can't save it (I use "Save As" and rename the file).
When I do "Save As," the next time I pull up the form I see the data I inputted for a split second and then it is all erased automatically.
This is frustrating as I need the data to be available every time I open the form.
I am using Windows XP Professional on a Dell Optiplex 755 with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz with 1.96 GB RAM. Again, I am not using Reader, I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0.
    Thanks!

There is probably some JavaScript either as a document level script or page open action that is clearing the fields. If you edit your preferences you can turn off Acrobat's JavaScript, but this will also prevent calculations for running as they use JavaScript.
You could also export the the data as an FDF file and then import the data after the form is opened.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Form Wizard isn't detecting form fields?

    Hi there,
I've been scouring various forums, blogs, etc. to find an answer to my problem, and have yet to be successful.  Here it is:
I've created a form in Illustrator CS5 using the rectangle shape tool to indicate form fields.  I need users to be able to enter information in each of the specified fields.  I've saved the file as a .PDF and have opened it into Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.  I then select "Start Form Wizard" from the Forms menu, and after making the appropriate selections it tells me: "No new form field annotations were detected." and then prompts me to the form editing page.  I've also tried simply selecting "Add or Edit Fields" from the Forms menu and the same thing happens - it isn't detecting any form fields.
The only time the Form Wizard or Add or Edit Fields options work is if I use underlines instead of boxes as the form fields, but I'd really prefer to use the boxes since they lend themselves to the aesthetics of the document much better.
I'm new to converting Illustrator files into interactive .PDFs, so I'm not sure what I should be doing.  The background color of the document is grey and the boxes are white with no outline (I tried it with an outline around the boxes and it still didn't work).  Any advice would be much appreciated!  Thanks.
    Beth

    Hi Beth
How big are  these fields? Are they for entering text or just check boxes?
I have found that sometimes FormWizard is not compatible with some Quark files.
Sounds like it might be easier for you to do the fields manually.
First draw the field like you want it and set that as the default then you can choose to paste multiple fields.
Also if you want to use a line for FormWizard you can make the background of the field white and cover the line with it.

  • Need help with Java Script to perform a calculation in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 form

I have a form (test) that I am creating in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.
I need help creating custom Java Script so I can get the desired answer.
    1) There are several questions in each group that require a numerical answer between 0-4
    2) There is a total field set up to sum the answers from all above questions
    3) The final "score" takes the answer from Step 2 above and divides by the total possible answer
Any help on what Java Script I need to complete this would be greatly appreciated!
I've attached a "spreadsheet" that shows it in more detail as well as what formulas I used in Excel to get the desired end result.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the "The field is the average of:"?

  • Issue with Submit a form in Adobe Acrobat pro XI

I have created a form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and am using a submit form button.  I want the body of the email to display a html version of the PDF, however, instead it attaches the file as a *.tmp file and does not show up in the body.  What am I am missing?  (also, outlook blocked access to the file and claimed it to be a potentially unsafe attachment, but trying with other e-mail editors i still had no luck)
Also, is there a way to do this in javascript? if so, how?
(I would like to know how to do it with and without javascript if available - im learning)

not really, someone else mentioned that it could be done and they said they saw it before.  I've been beating myself up for a while trying to figure out how to get it to happen.   Is there an easy way to get the content of the pdf form into an email body with plain text when pressing a submit by email button?
    Such as...
    <label name>: <txtfield content>
    First name:  <txtfield content>
    ...etc..

  • Cannot Edit a Form in Adobe Acrobat Pro Xi - use Livecycle

    Hi all,
I was advised to buy Adobe Pro XI yesterday by the Direct Sales Adobe team because it includes "everything I need" to create and EDIT PDF forms.  I actually rang up to buy X but was told it was now XI.
I tried to edit a form today and got this message:
"this form cannot be edited in Acrobat. Please use Adobe Livecycle Designer to edit this form"
I was told this was included in Pro but can't get past this message.  I previously had a trial of Adobe Pro X and WAS able to edit this very form.
It is very frustrating.  I cannot edit anything I have been working on.
FormsCentral seems too basic as I need to be able to edit the field name in the properties of the field.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    David

We created forms in acrobat 9 pro and now with XI pro cannot edit them.  Error message states that livecycle designer is required to edit forms previously created in acrobat.  Called tech support and waited for over an hour before being told that another product needed to be purchased for $300 more than the upgrade cost for acrobat pro XI!!!  From the XI FAQ - The web site states:
The following customers are eligible for a free upgrade:
Customers who purchased a prior license to Acrobat and have purchased an upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro
Customers who have an Adobe Maintenance and Support contract or purchased Upgrade Plan eligible for an Acrobat XI Pro upgrade
Active Creative Cloud Complete members whose memberships started before October 15, 2012
The one-time LiveCycle Designer upgrade is available in English, French, German, or Japanese. Eligible customers can choose which language they would like to receive. Visit the Customer Support Portal to request an upgrade.
After entering in the needed info on the support portal was told that adobe will Not honor the sales rep & web site which both said we are eligible for the free upgrade.  We asked for a full refund and will not longer be using any new adobe products.  We went back to 9 pro forms work fine and adobe lost $.  Nice work adobe - lie to customers and then act surprised that the customers want their $ back!  They told us to just toss their software DVD in the trash where IT belongs, so we did!

  • Issue attaching files in Adobe Reader from a form created in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended

    Hello all,
I am having issues- big ones- please help!
I have created a simple form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 extended version that will be made available in a local drive for our salesmen to open not online or in html format- fill in and send back to their manager and the factory- there are 2 e-mail submit buttons on this form and the user selects which one to send to.
This form also has a button for save and for print. Everything works great except that the attach a file button I created. It works in Adobe Acrobat, but not in Reader. When you click the button in Reader it compresses but nothing happens.
I have tried many different things- including extending the rights to adobe reader.
Also, this form has a password protected security and I have given permission to print, to fill in the form and sign existing signature fields. When adding the security I made sure it said compatible with Adobe 3.0 and later versions.
I know I have to do the security before I extend the rights to reader and not the other way around.
Don't know what else to do.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    A.

I've attempted using Acrobat Pro to do the conversion, but it simply won't allow it.  Are there easier ways to have an online or fillable form, created in an Adobe program, such as LiveCycle or Acrobat Pro, sent or saved in a pdf format?
For example: I make a form using an Adobe Program and put it online for people to fill out.  They fill it out and click a button to email it to me.  When I open it, is there a way to see it as a PDF document?
Thank you for your help thus far.  It has been much  more informative than many of the forums I've attempted to decipher.

  • Individual, Creative cloud, single app, Adobe Acrobat Pro X1, Forms and Responses allowed

    Dear forum,
Firstly many apologies if this is a stupid question or if it has been answered before, but I'm very new to using FormsCentral only in the past few days.
I purchased an Individual Creative cloud, single app plan at £17.58 per month for only Adobe Acrobat Pro X1, I am able it seems allowed to create forms etc, however are there any responses per form limit for my subscription? when looking at the features for the Adobe Acrobat Pro X1 product it only says FormsCentral is included and does not suggest any limitations. However, I've seen other comments which suggest needing to upgrade, but I have not seen any messages asking me to. I would prefer to know the limitations now rather than doing an important project form and then suddenly see messages appear once 50, or so responses have arrived  ?
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
    kind regards
    kevin

    Hi,
You get a free subscription with FormsCentral with Acrobat Pro XI. You will only be able to create one form and collect 50 responses. To get more functionality, you'll need to upgrade to basic or plus plan. Please check out Pricing options - Free, Basic, and Plus options | Adobe FormsCentral.
    Thanks,
    Wenlan
