Adobe X Standard Navigational Pane

I am in the process of purchasing Adobe X, and need to see if the Navigational Pane works the same way in Adobe X Standard and Professional.  With Adobe X Standard, are you able to have two pdf's open at the same time in seperate windows, and drag and drop between PDF documents?  Also, would PDF documents saved in Adobe 9 Pro be able to open and be edited (drag and drop pages) with Adobe X Standard?
Thanks

Can someone by chance try this today with Adobe X Standard?  I need to get this ordered this afternoon if possible.
Thanks!

  • Windows 7, Adobe XI Reader, Navigation Pane

How do I hide the Navigation Pane (also known to me as the Navigation Pain) as the default, not with using F4 every time I open a document?
This is for Adobe XI Reader only, using Windows 7, on a computer on which I don't have administrator rights.
I need to know a method that involves setting options available to a general user, not an administrator, and does not involve any kind of "scripting" or editing the registry (because I'm not an administrator).
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for this reply. Alas, this is something that I will need administrator rights to set up. However, if I ever install Adobe Reader XI on a home computer, this will be very helpful to me.
I had actually seen this solution before.
In Windows XP, I was able to go into Windows Explorer, choose Tools, and then choose Folder Options to get to a place where I could add this information to the Adobe Reader XI launch information. But in Windows 7, Folder Options is gone, replaced by something called Default Programs. Default Programs doesn't allow changing of launch information.
In my Adobe Reader XI shortcut properties, there is a box called "Start In". I tried putting the line with the "navpanes" option there, but it was ignored.
Also, on some programs, I can change the Maximized/Minimized/Normal property, but for Adobe Reader XI, it requires being an Administrator.
I hope that Adobe will consider, in future releases, making the display or non-display of the Navigator Pain either a user preference option or something in which the most recent use is remembered.between sessions!
    Thanks again for your help.

Could someone tell me how the Navigation pane which is on the left side of the workspace can be relocated to the bottom of the workspace.

The Navigation pane cannot be moved. It will always be on the left.

How do I remove signature validation from Adobe Reader X navigation pane?  The first time X opened it asked if I wanted the feature and I said yes, but now I do not want it when I open a document that has a signature.

    Leonard,
I've developed APIs before on various products I have worked on over the past 27+ years in software development. When I built those APIs I tried to expose a consistent set of functionality out of the gate, that I thought would benefit folks who were trying to leverage our APIs. Being able to show/hide various UI components, at a minimum, is a big win. Why some components have this functionality exposed and others done, seems puzzling to me. And omission, really. There are 10 posts in this thread and I have seen others in this forum asking the same exact question. Are API requests derived from this forum? I kind of assumed that since you worked for Adobe, one of the tasks that a forum monitor/forum moderator does is pass useful customer feedback onto the development group. If this is not the case and I need to "formally" request this somewhere else, please let me know where such a mechanism exists.
What are the chances that "requests" get implemented? I needed this functionality yesterday, not a release or two from now.

  • How to lock ''Navigation Pane'' in Adobe Acrobat Standard 9

Hello everyone, I want the Navigation Pane in Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 locked. I want the navigation pane lock in this position. Can it be possible ?

thank you for the suggestion, but I do not have a "Send Email" or "Submit" button available in my version. I have "Attach to email" option which automatically opens a new message in MS outlook (which I did not set up, it just started doing so automatically) without any further dialogue boxes or options.
Also, this is only for regular PDF files, not forms.

  • Hiding Navigation Pane in Adobe Acrobat/Reader 8.x

Is there some way to hide the navigation pane programmatically ? I know that you can set this as a PDF document property, but that doesn't do me any good. Why is there a way to hide the tool bar and a way to tell the PDF to be viewed without bookmarks and thumbnails, but no way to hide the navigation pane?

  • Hide navigation pane of adobe reader through scripting

Hi.. I'm looking for a script to hide the navigation pane of the adobe reader through scripting, is there any way I can achieve that?
my main objective is to restrict user from attaching a file by using navigation pane because I'm already giving buttons to attach a file on the pdf and I want user to attach a file ONLY using buttons on the pdf. Can I achieve this by any other way?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
you can hide all panes with this script in the docReady:event.
         event.target.viewState = {overViewMode:1};

  • Add the "advanced search' button the navigation pane (left hand column Adobe Reader XI)

    Hi
Is it possible to add the "advanced search' button the navigation pane (left hand column in Adobe Reader XI)? If yes, how is this done?
    Regards
    Andrew

    Thanks for your response.
May you can forward this as to whoever looks after improving the Adobe product. It would be very useful to have it available on the navigation pane. At the moment the 'advanced search' feature opens up outside the PDF and is a pain to use.

  • Navigation Pane/Bookmarks question in Adobe 9

Is there a way to have the navigation pane (bookmarks, specifically) open automatically on EVERY Adobe document opened on my computer?  I know that I can go into the 'Preferences' on a specific document and set the initial view to 'Bookmarks and Panel page', but I would like it to automatically open on every single Adobe .pdf that I open on my machine.  Does it depend on the creator of the document, and whether they have set the initial view in 'preferences' to 'bookmarks and panel page'?  Thanks!

Thanks.  I am not at all comfortable using scripts.  I'll just fix it each time I open a doc.  I appreciate your help!

  • Sequence of free characteristic in the Navigation pane

    Hi Experts,
How can we specify a sequence to the free characteristics in the navigation pane in WAD (BI 7)
for eg: i have to specify: in the wad like this
    1. Zone manager
    2. Area manager
    3. Region manager
    4. District manager
As of now i only see one option, which alphabetically sorts it out, but i dont want that. I need to specify as per the above sequence.
    Points would be rewarded suitably.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Its the standard way the SAP behaves. Maybe you have to live with it.
The only way around i can suggest is to have the following desc either starting with numbers or with alphabets:
    1. Zone manager
    2. Area manager
    3. Region manager
    4. District manager
    OR
    a. Zone manager
    b. Area manager
    c. Region manager
    d. District manager

  • Use of Font Sets in CHM Navigation Pane

    Hi everyone.
One of our product suites is going to be published for the first time using WebHelp Pro as its primary output but with a CHM file as a backup in case the client's internet connection fails or isn't present.
To cut a long story short we have setup a font set to use with our Webhelp Pro output that allows for both Windows and Apple Mac fonts. We have applied this to all our styles and are looking at other places where it can be used (e.g. skins). One of these is the Navigation Pane to be used in the CHM file. It seems like you can not use a font set when defining the font characteristics of the TOC and Index in the Advanced options of the Microsoft HTML Help single source layout.
I know this is not really a problem as CHM files are only designed to be run on Windows PCs and the Windows fonts we are using as part of the font set are 99.9% percent likely to be installed. However I am more interested in how the fonts inside the navigation pane works. The fact that you can't specify a font set (i've checked this in RH8 and RHX5) would seem to indicate that the font setting is part of the compiled file, rendering a font set unnecessary in this instance. Either that or it is an oversight.
    Read the RoboColum(n).

    Hi Colum
I stand to be corrected on this. Perhaps Pete Lees will pop in to confirm or deny.
I don't believe Font Sets are even necessary for .CHM files. As they are Windows only, I'm not sure Microsoft saw any need to provide for using them.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Reader XI - How do I hide the Navigation Pane by default?

Every time I open a pdf I have to manually hide the Navigation Pane as it is taking up valuable real estate on my screen. Is there a way to hide it by default in Reader XI? I've seen it mentioned elsewhere but I've failed to find a satisfactory answer.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi rammo123,
For Adobe Reader XI, I change the below mentioned registry key
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document.11\shell\Read\command
    To read:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /A "navpanes=0" "%1"

  • Can I adjust the width of the navigation pane?

Hello, I've got a WebHelp project. It will generally be used on touchscreens. This forum gave me great advice on making the fonts bigger for TOC and Indiex items by going to the WebHelp Skin Editor.
Well, I was wondering if I could actually make the width of the navigation pane wider. In the Skin Editor, you can drag the pane (like you can in compiled help, but that doesn't seem to hold upon compilation. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi there
    Two things
Yes, you can adjust the pane. Check out the Skinny on Skins for detailed steps. Click here
Please submit a Wish Form to ask for this ability in the Skins Editor

  • Controlling the Navigation Pane from Topic links

I've followed Rick Stone's instructions (in his Skinny on Skins tips file) for controlling the navigation pane from topic links, but I've included the reference to whtbar.js in my Master Page (as I want it to be available to all my topics) instead of in a single topic in my WebHelp output. It works fine, however, I'm experiencing a page flicker whenever I click a link which opens the TOC, Index, Glossary, etc. Does anyone know if this can be avoided?
    Thanks
    Jonathan

    Hi Willam
No your method still works fine thanks (without any page flicker). However, it only opens and closes the navigation pane. What I've been playing around with is the idea of hiding the standard WebHelp toolbar by setting its height to zero in the .SKN and then creating my own toolbar in a Master Page that controls the navigation pane, i.e. with Home, Contents, Index, Search, and Glossary links. That way I have more control over how the toolbar looks and, for example, I can use some script to power drop-down menus, etc. I've been looking at using the Bootstrap framework.
I seems to work okay, apart form the annoying page flicker when I use the links in my custom toolbar.
Oh well, maybe I'm trying to push the boundaries a little too far?!
    Thanks anyway,
    Jonathan

  • ZANALYSIS_PATTERN - Navigation Pane

    Hi Expert,
I am using ZANALYSIS_PATTERN to run iViews in portal as standard web template and have modified it quite a lot. One of the problem I am having is to move the navigation pane to the right side. By default, it is displayed on the left just before the dataset.
I have gone through the 'How to Enhance SAP BEx Web Analyzer (0ANLAYSIS_PATTERN)' and this helped me a lot to enhance copied version of web template.
Is there any one out there who already changed the Navigation Pane from left to right?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Bhai,
you can just use a Container Layout to do a horizontal arrangement of the navigation panel. Here is the description of SAP Help:
