Adobe XL only prints to current printer

adobe always worked well in my windows XP, after I updated to XI, only prints to the default printer, if I choose a diferent printer in the list, still prints to the default printer.

I am having a similar issue to ferdz2013.
I am running terminal services on server 2008 R2.  This is in a domain environment, the user has permissions to the color printer in question and can print to it using Word and notepad.  However in Excel, it will not print to the color printer.
Even if I select the color printer as the default printer, it only prints to another BW printer.  In fact, there are .......
Well, as I was writing this, after troubleshooting it for an hour, it fixed itself.  I was going into his control panel to count the network printers installed (about 5) of which he could only choose from 2 in excel. Suddenly, he has only
two installed.  We can print to it, but we can't choose color now.
I believe this is a domain controller issue, where he is attached to one DC, and I am attached to a second DC, where I change the AD permissions.  It took an hour for them to exchange this information.
Just something else to think about.
Now I need to figure out why he can only select BW.

  • Adobe acrobat only prints first page with airport express

I got my printer (HP PSC1315) to work with airport express using one of the solutions described in these forums. Printing is fine except when trying to print pdf files with adobe acrobat, in which case only the first page of the document prints. Preview has no trouble printing pdfs. Anyone else experience this? Is there a solution?
    Thanks,
    Kevin
PS- my version of acrobat is acrobat pro 7.0.5

    Figured it out.
Adobe Acrobat/Reader is apparently very picky about printer drivers.
I had to have the users delete their mapped network printers from their Printers & Faxes window.
Then I opened the registry and went to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
I deleted the drivers for the printer(s) the customer had mapped (e.g. Xerox 6360DN, .. etc.)
    I rebooted the computer
I had the customer logon and remap their printer.
    That resolved the issue.

  • Adobe will only print to PDF

This is a recent problem that started with both Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and Adobe Reader 9.
When the print dialogue is brought up, it switches from the default printer to Adobe PDF. If you pull down the menu and try any other printer, it switches right back to Adobe PDF. I can't find anything in the settings for why this would happen and the various searches I tried didn't bring up any similar problems.
Adobe Acrobat has been uninstalled and reinstalled since this started happening but nothing was fixed.
Non Adobe programs are not affected by this and print out fine. Windows 7 is the OS.

You should know that the general advice on the Acrobat forum is to
not have Reader AND Acrobat installed, since that may cause confusion

    Hi,
I would suggest you to uninstall Adobe Reader using the cleaner tool and then re-install the latest version.
Adobe Cleaner Tool:- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs.
Latest version of Adobe Reader:- http://get.adobe.com/reader/
If you still experience the same issue, please share the following information:-
    - Screenshot of Adobe Reader showing printer options
    - Screenshot of Microsoft Word showing printer options
    - Screenshot of control panel- Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 in Windows 7 only printing to prn

2 Weeks ago I lost my production laptop (Windows Vista OS) so I had to reload all my system software on a new laptop (Windows 7 OS), which included Adobe Web Premium CS3.  My primary printer is the Adobe PDF Printer, which I had no problem with in the Vista OS environement.  Now when I try to print to pdf from any software on this new laptop, the pdf printer will only print to prn.  I have been to the properties dialog box for the Adobe PDF Printer and there is no Adobe PDF port shown.  I deleted the PDF Printer as instructed in another discussion in this forum and opened Adobe Acrobat 8 to repair from the Help menu, but there is no "repair" in the Help menu.  I have tried reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 8 but that doesn't seem to help.  I am sunk without my PDF Printer.  I have print jobs to send out to my printer today so I simply have to get this fixed.  Any successful help that anyone can give would be very much appreciated.  Thank you ahead of time.

It is important to note if you have a Win7 32 or 64-bit system. Also, you need to update AA8 to the latest version if possible. Folks have gotten it to work for the 32-bit version and I have seen one report from someone with a 64-bit system. Even under XP, you needed at least AA8.1 as I recall for a 64-bit system (vague memory that may not be correct). Anyway, an update is probably mandatory if you are going to have luck. The first thing you need is for the print driver to be installed so you get the Adobe PDF printer (you can use another PS printer if all else fails). You may have to print to file rather than use the normal route if AcroTray fails to run (the major issue with the system). If that is needed, you can change the port of the Adobe PDF printer to be file and automate the print to file as a result. Of course, the file has to be opened in Distiller to produce the PDF (a job AcroTray automates).

I can only print the current page of downloaded pdf's.  Not able to print "all".  I'm using a Macbook air.

it says "the document could not be printed".  "There were no ages selected to print".
I selected "all".  I always tried selecting pages "1-3".
The only choice that works is current page.  Very strange.

  • Adobe only prints first page of multi-page PDF documents.

On a military network,  ever since users have been upgraded to Adobe Pro 9,  only the first page of their multi-page documents will print from a particular network printer.
    The OS is Windows XP.
    Adobe Pro version is 9.1.2
Network printer is a Xerox Phaser 3500PS.
Can print other non-PDF documents to the same printer with no problems.
Can print the same PDF documents to other printers in the area and all pages go through.
No error messages on printer and no error message prints out.
I have had the users change their Font and Resource Policy to "Send for each page"
I have reloaded the Xerox Phaser 3500PS drivers.
I have had the users remove and remap the network printer.
I have had them try to print just two pages
I am unable to implement Adobe's Postscript Printer Driver as this is a military network and I cannot install unapproved software on the network printer server.
Any constructive suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Why is there not an option to only print form data in Adobe XI?

I have created a form in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and saved it.  Then I want to open it in Adobe Reader, fill it in and then only print the form data but there is not an option to only print form data in Adobe Reader XI.  I'm not sure if it is in the way I created the form or something else.  Any help will greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Basically you need to place the file's contents on a non-printing layer. Try this:
Create a new blank file and open the Layers panel on the left.
Click the Options button and select Import As Layer.
Select your pre-existing PDF file (maybe save a copy of it without the form fields first and use that version).
Right-click the layer you created and select Properties. Change the layer's Print option to "Never Prints".
Now copy the fields from the other file and place them in their correct location on the page.
Save the file and you have a file that can be used to print only the form fields data, even in Reader.
This process can be automated, by the way, but that would require a script.

How do I stop pop up that asks me, Do you want to save changes to doc... before closing? I have made no changes only printed the file. Using Adobe Reader DC, Windows 7 64 bit.
This is very annoying and we need this stopped as we have made no changes to any of the adobe files. Please advise how to do this.

I first tried the version without the deflated stream (so everything uncompressed) against the online repair tool to check/analyse it @ https://www.pdf-tools.com/osa/repair.aspx
And it says no error found, but the reader still want to save it when closing so i still had no clue at this point.
Fortunately, i finally found what was wrong with my generated PDF.
In my xref table, each object reference was not end by a full EOL, i only did put a newline char.
Now i have "carriage return" "newline" which is the full EOL and the reader is happy and close the file silently.
As suspected i did not follow correctly the specs on xref table
Now i'll go and figure what i did wrong with the deflate filter
    Thanks for your help.

  • Adobe ReaderX will only print in landscape

I updated to adobereaderX (free version) in the last few days. Now all my pdf documents will only print in "landscape".
    Word docs are not affected.
On checking, my Brother printer seems to be working fine and the printer orientation settings are correct (ie set to portraite).
    How can I fix this?
Brother suggested I remove adobe reader and reinstal.

Are these documents created in landscape or portrait format?
What is your Reader/Print setting for landscape/portrait?

  • 6310 only prints current page

My 6310 has always worked fine, until I replaced my laptop with a windows 7 unit.  This laptop is networked to the desktop which has the 6310 attached.  Now it only prints a single page document from the networked laptop, or it will print individual pages one at a time by selecting current page.  If I try to select pages 1-2, it will not print at all, nor will it print if I select all.  It goes through the motions, and the progress bar shows that something is happening, but it never reaches the printer.

I too am having the same problem. I have a 7310. It will print multiple pages from Word, but nothing else I have found yet (Safari, Preview, etc). My wifes iBook does the same. Both are running 10.4.7 and the latest HP drivers.
