AdobeControl.CAB
Every time that we preview a profile in PDF the system prompt for installation of ACF. It does not check if the system already have one installed. Our environment strictly implements user access privilege and installation of ACF requires admin rights. Any solution?
Thanks
Hi Japlit,
I hope you have created a Webdynpro application trying to display a PDF form. During design time of the page if you would have given the form type as ActiveX for the UIElement container then it requires
ACF binaries in the client system to display the form.
If ACF is not installed in the client while the opening the related WD application URL then it will try to download the ACF cab file and install it. Also you can do ACF installation manually using the SAP Note 766191.
Though the form is interactive or non-interactive (readonly) , if it is WD SAP PDF form then it
requires ACF to display the form.
ZCI is the new technology which is good as it doesnt require any client side installations.
To convert ACF to ZCI form follow the notes 1042394 and 1055911.

AdobeControl.CAB not verified
Hi all,
I am having an issue while opening adobe forms in IE 6.
The error is " Windows has blocked this software as the publisher cant be verified" . The software is AdobeControl.CAB.
I am getting this error both for reader versions 7.0 and 8.0
Please let me know what am I missing.
Also I am getting this error only on some machines.
All machines have ACF SP 9 and readers installed
I also downloaded AdobeControl.CAB separately and ran the exe file, still nothing resolved.
Thanks
LishaHi,
change the display type property of the interactive form ui element to "native" which is "activex" by default. -
Implicit ACF Installation fails to download AcrobatControl.CAB
Hello,
I would like to understand the mechanism of the implicit ACF installation mentioned in SAP note 766191 - "Installation of Active Component Framework". It is not described in detail in that note. We can not roll out the xACF software explicitely on all of our PCs, so we would like the server to push the needed ACF components to the client PCs automatically. We need the ACF to display Adobe interactive PDF forms.
As I understand so far, when you implement an HTML <object> on a website that tries to activate an ActiveX element (like in our case the AdobeControl to display PDFs) it downloads the needed code automatically in case it is not present on the client PC. This is done through the <codebase> parameter of the <object> element. The download is an AdobeControl.CAB, which gets transferred to the client and then installs various other needed files. It seems as if this mechanism does not work in our system, since we are not able to see any PDFs.
My questions are:
1. Is this AdobeControl.CAB all that is needed for a correct functioning of the ACF installation and to view an interactive PDF in the Internet Explorer on the client PC?
2. Where in the NW04 SPS18 configuration can I control the download behavior of this active component, i.e. the protocol (http vs. https) and port (80 vs. 443)? The link to AdobeControl.CAB in the HTML page source looks like this:
codebase="http://lsocp-jci.xyz.de:80/webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tcwddispwda/global/activeComp/AdobeControl.CAB#version=6,3018,0,3"
Thanks,
Daniel.Hi Daniel,
Yes ACF is required to view the adobe interactive forms on browser. ACF integrates Java applets and activex controls on your machine and thus enables the user to view the PDF document in the browser.
As far as my knowledge is concerned, if you design the interactive forms in the NWDS version 7.0.13 or above, it has an option "Native" in the interactive form property displayType. Here if you provide the type as native this works on ZCI technology (zero client installation). So, you won't need this ACF installation on your machines and you will be able to view the form always without any other software.
In case your form is already designed you will need to:
1. Check the ADS (Adobe document service) settings on the server which obstructs displaying the PDF form in the client machine's browser.
2. Install the latest version of ACF which you can download form SAP service market place.
Hope this helps.

Adobe Deployment problem!!
Hi Experts,
I am working on Adobe Online interactive Form. But when I tried to deploy it, I am getting this message: Windows has blocked this software because it cant verify the publisher.
Name: AdobeControl.CAB
Publisher- Unknown Publisher
Can anyone tell me the reason why it id not deploying it and how to solve it.
Thanks,
VikramHello Vikram,
Your Adboe form is of displaytype ActiveX or native? if it is activeX then please change the same to native and deploy and check.
Also Check the IE Settings. Goto Tools>Internet Options. Security Tab>(Select Internet) and click on Custom Level, there disable all the ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins options and try once.

CS2-installing error "data1.cab" file corrupt
I have recently reformatted my C drive and reinstalling programs.
I tried to reinstall my CS2 Photoshop, but received error message that the "data1.cab" file was corrupt or missing. Could not install program.
I don't know how to fix. Could someone please help?
Thanks,
mmspryfrom a disc? try to copy the photoshop folder from the disc to the desktop, then run setup from there. however, you might have a bad drive or a bad disc. if the setup from the desktop fails, try installing on another machine. if it still fails, the disc probably has a problem. if that works, maybe your drive needs replacing.

Thanks Rahul$Hi,
The client cannot verify the signature of ccmsetup.cab. I suggest you check the Trusted Root Certification Authorities in certificate store on the client to see whether a certificate is missing.
Try to enable verbose logging for SCCM client installation. Then check the log to see whether there are some useful information.(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699356.aspx)

How to install MSFT application security updates in cab file format using DISM
Hi,
I tried to install security updates for MS Office which are cab files like any other windows security updates cab file. It is giving an error called "file not found". But other windows security updates cab files are installing fine without any error.
I tried to install these updates manually using DISM on commandline. It is not installing. I even tried using pkgmgr.exe, but that is not working either. I looked at DISM logs which is saying it failed opening the cab file. I tried different other commandline
options of DISM to install this, but nothing else is suitable for a cab file install.
Does anyone know how to install a cab file for application security updates via DISM.exe or other MSFT commandline tools?
Thanks,
ANSA

Connecting a h.264 DVR security camera system to remote viewing through my ip address/port. This works with ie but not with firefox. On ie I get a similar tab "netvideo" and a window opens showing my DVR connection, cameras, and can operate all remotely. On Firefox I just get the "netvideo" tab but a white blank screen. The application needed to show/operate my DVR is missing from firefox. How can I make the connection operate with firefox? Seen somewhere that firefox is missing a cab for this?
Sorry, Mozilla doesn't support the patent-encumbered and royalty-encumbered H.264 standard, they support the OGG/Theodora and WebM free open source standards.
Microsoft has a H.264 plugin for Firefox, but it is for Windows7 not WinXP or Win Vista. <br />
http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/html5-extension-for-wmp-plugin
There may be other H.264 Firefox plugins out there for WinXP, so do a Google search. Or maybe contact support for that DVR security system and see if they know of or have a Firefox plugin. -
Getting error message as shown: "The file 'Acknowledgements.rtf' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file 'iTunes.cab'. Is there something wrong with the latest installer? (11.3.1)
Installs fine for me, so I'd guess you got an incomplete or corrupt download. See the Further Information area of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for direct links and download a fresh copy of the installer.

I have received the follwoing error when I depoly the custom masterpage with css, images, javascript files:
Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Failed to extract the cab file in the solution.
Any help will soon is appreciated.Hi Bagalur,
Thanks for your sharing. It will help others who stuck will the same issue.

I work for HP -
Ok I have a BizTalk Application that's called :
FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200
I know that is a long name but why should I be punisched when I create an installer for that. I also have a WebService that exposes this schema. And this webservice is stored inside the MSI cab files. So far so good.
But now when I try to install this MSI alongside all my other MSI's I get the following message :
Failed to extract file "C:\Program Files\Generated by BizTalk\FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200\36FAA7B1-99DE-4AF6-A910-ED56D02D84EF\WebDirectory\-FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200.WES\App_Data\FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200.Schemas.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200.xsd".
(Length=306)
The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters., (NULL), (NULL), (NULL).
If i could install in C:\Program Files\Generated by BizTalk\FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200 but the extraction would take place in d:\temp or whatever, I would not have a problem. But unfortunately it extracts in a subdir of an already
very long path......
Is there anybody who knows how to solve this... (can I tell the MSI to use D:\TEMP\ as an extract folder).
And using shorter names is not an option.

This can be beneficial to other community members reading the threadYou can control the destination path of resources in your MSI by modifying them in the Resources folder of a BizTalk application.
%BTAD_InstallDir% defaults to C:\Program Files\Generated by BizTalk\... etc etc. You can put in whatever you like here.
You can get more granular control over the resources by using the
BTSTask.exe tool.
If you can tell me how to make the extract process of he cabs point to c:\temp i will be happy to use BTSTASK (wich i am already doing). But the problem is with the extraction oft he web service. It will extract to :
C:\Program Files\Generated by BizTalk\FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200\36FAA7B1-99DE-4AF6-A910-ED56D02D84EF\WebDirectory\-FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200.WES\App_Data\FH.CCE.CDM.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200.Schemas.FinancieleOpdrachtLogistiekMiddel_v0200.xsd
Wich is just to long. I want the cabs to extract to c:\temp or something like that.....

Reader &Acrobat CAB for SCUP does not contain update info
The Adobe Reader and Acrobat CAB files for use with SCUP, Patch Manager and WSUS does not contain any pre-requisite information. It also removes pre-requisite information from Adobe updates that have already been published to a WSUS server - thus halting all Adobe Reader and Acrobat updates. When is the CAB file going to be updated ?

Lightroom does not recognise D700 pictures, CS3 does
I have tried to put my Nikon D700 pictures in Lightroom but get a message saying the files are damaged or unsupported, they behave completely normally in Bridge and Photoshop so they are presumably both supported and not damaged. Any ideas?
