"AdobeFnt13.lst" file missing in the document fonts folder

Hello,
I have a bug with Indesign CS5, the "AdobeFnt13.lst" file is now missing in my document fonts folders, even after reinstall of ID.
I deleted the Preferences folder, font cache etc. nothing works so far.
An idea someone ?

YES !
It's solved now.
In fact I had a bug with the colour panel a week before this problem and I reinstalled ID a first time (back to the 7.0 version).
I didn't know about this patch.

Document fonts folder missing within InDesign package?

Help - when I attempt to preflight my document, the document fonts folder is missing entirely. This is quite strange as it seems to just happen out of nowhere. I have packaged documents each day up until today with out any issues. So essentially the final package will contain the indd file, txt file, and links folder. The document fonts folder is missing.... Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Preflight and package are different operations entirely.
Assuming that you mean "package" (that's what would create the links and fonts folders), there's a checkbox in the window where you choose where you want your package to be saved: "Copy Fonts (Except CJK)". If that box is unchecked, then no Document Fonts folder will be created.

InDesign CC is not recognizing the fonts in my Document fonts folder?

Does anyone have a solution to this? I have the indd file in the same folder as the document fonts folder.

All of these were sent to me in a zip file, in opening the zip i do get an encyption error regarding the Document Fonts.
Should the Documents Fonts be in the folder with the acutal indd file or in the folder called fonts within InDesign or is it something else?

Document Fonts folder missing

Hi. When I package a document the Links Folder is there, but the Document Fonts folder is not. In the Package>> Font summary, ID says 15 fonts used, none missing or modified, but it doesn't list anything. I need to work on the document on another computer that doesn't have these fonts installed. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm still navigating my way in OSX, so i used Fontbook to install them. Admittedly, they are from a Linotype suite that originally I used on PC which only offers True Type or Post Script. The Post Script seems to install but doesn't show up.

When going from a Mac-based Ai to a PC based Ai, the documents "Font" are not found on the PC version? (mostly Helvetica) where and how do I get those Fonts? And/or, can I use the Mac version of these Fonts?

In order to be cross platform you must be using the Open Type version of all fonts to cause the least disruption. Macs can read and process the Windows .ttf type format but PCs can't process Mac formatted type. Most recent versions also cannot use the older PS Type 1 fonts.

Remember that the ADML-files are language specific and stored in language specific folders. The ADLM-files is used to present information in ADMX files in a localized manner.
To create the Central Store:
ADMX-files goes here:
\\domain.com\SYSVOL\domain.com\Policies\PolicyDefinitions
ADML-files goes here:
\\domain.com\SYSVOL\domain.com\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\EN-US (For US English)
\\domain.com\SYSVOL\domain.com\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\NB-NO (For Norwegian)
\\domain.com\SYSVOL\domain.com\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\KO-KR (For Korean).. and so on...
So if you have your EN-US folder populated with all relevant ADML-files, but open GPMC from, lets say a Workstation with Norwegian language, it will try to access the nb_NO Folder. If no files are there, an error is presented.
For all i know, maybe some of your ADMX / ADML files are broken.
It should be no problem to re-download them and replace the ones you are having problems with.

Where is the InDesign font folder in Windows 7?

I don't have Suitcase or other font managers. BUT..I like to have all my fonts at my fingertips. Was storing them into Program Files(X86)/Adobe/InDesign/Fonts. All were readily available. It slowed InDesign down a little, but worth it to me. Any help is appreciated.

For 32-bit versions of ID , the location is the same, (as far as being in the InDesign/Fonts folder, but where you installed ID may not be under Adobe in the Program Files (x86) folder), for 64-t versions look in the Program Files folder.

I have been trying for over 2 weeks now trying to get my iTunes to open up so I can use my iTunes but I have not had any luck since I up graded to the new itunes. I have tried uninstalling (all apple programs) and reinstalling and nothing seems to work. Everytime I try to open my iTunes I receive the following message - The iTunes Library.itl file cannot be found or created. FontAwesome appears as question marks in FrameMaker 12. I installed the font in the Windows/Fonts folder. Do I need to do something else to get it to work in FM?

I need to update our fonts/templates to Font Awesome. I downloaded and installed the font in the Windows/Fonts folder.
The font appears as question marks (????) in place of the text in FrameMaker 12.
The font appears correctly in other applications, such as Microsoft Word and Outlook.
I tried this with both FontAwesome.otf and fontawesome-webfont.ttf.
Do I need to do something else to get this font to work in FM?

Well, if it's any consolation, it does the ????? thing (complete with bad font metrics for the question marks) in FM9, too.
I'm tempted to blame the font, but it could also be that FM is confused by things that shouldn't be where they are. You'll notice that some of the glyphs aren't given descriptive names in Character Palette.
For example, code points U+0000 through U+001F. Those are supposed to be the C0 Controls in Unicode, and not displayable glyphs.

The glyphs at these code points should either be in standard Unicode positions (where the glyph is covered by Unicode, such as that left pointing triangle at U+0011, which might have been the same thing as defined by Unicode at U+25C0 or 23F4) or in some Private Use area.

Get File Information using the Document ID in Javascript

I store in a custom list the Document Id of a linked document. I need to retrieve some metadata - at least the filename - of that document. I have tried using the Search REST API specifying something like "DocID:INGX1-2-26" in my search query,
but nothing is returned, nothing found.
Is there any other way to get the file info when all I have is the Document ID? In the managed code, I could use the Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement.dll which provides a way to get the file info using the DocId, but this is not available in Javascript.
Any ideas?

Hi,
As a workaround, we can create a custom web service with the Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement.dll, then you can call the web service using JavaScript.

Specify file name of the document returned on the HTTP post

Hello,
we are submitting a PDF form by calling submitForm function:
doc.submitForm
        cURL: "http://localhost/script",
        cSubmitAs: "XML"
The server returnes data of type "Content-type: application/pdf" and as a result this aplication/pdf data is displayed in a new window in Acrobat Reader.
The document in new window has name e.g. A9R3347.tmp, is it possible to force some concrete name ?
We tried to send from server the http header:
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"custom_name.pdf\"
or
Content-Type: application/pdf;         filename=custom_name.pdf
but non of this works.
1/ is it possible to set some custom name of the document, which is returned from a server in response of HTTP Post submit ?
2/ is it possible to return other kind of data then application/pdf ? ( my tests with AR 9.3 with other formats failed).

web service calls a lot of other java classes, and those java classes in turn
call other classes. When I used the following taskes to generate the service and
client code, I found the generated ear, war and client jar files only contain

Line item attachments were missing for the documents in FB03

Hi all ,
i had an issue that within the transaction FB03, attachments for line items were missing for all the documents that were posted from zprogram (artist statement) but attachments for the header items were displayed .
Is there any clue why these attachments are missing.

Check that that document key has been specified correctly. How are you storing the attachments??

Getting Canon 4770 to scan multipages into a PDF file while using the document feeder

I'm new to this forum. So if I break any rules with my questions below, kindly forgive me.
But my questions are about my Canon MF4770 printer.
1. Why can't I used the document feeder to scan multiple pages into one PDF file?
2. Why do I have to constantly select the remote scanner option when the printer is connected to my computer?

Hi Starlene and welcome to the Canon forum,
The ability to scan multi-page documents can depend on your operating system and version, and if the scanning software being used supports the feature. However, the MF Toolbox application that accompanies your laser product offers this option when scanning via a USB connection to your computer.
For example, if you are using Windows, below are the steps that would be performed:
1. Place documents.
Note: Up to 35 documents can be loaded in the feeder. Be sure to fan the stack, place it face up, and align the document guides to the width of document.
2. Press [SCAN].
3. Press [^] or [v] to highlight <Remote Scanner>, and then press [OK].
The machine is now waiting to be scanned.
4. Double-click the [Canon MF Toolbox 4.9] icon on the desktop.
The MF Toolbox starts.
5. Click [PDF].
Select [PDF (Multiple Pages)] in [Save as Type].
7. Specify the required settings as needed and click [PDF Settings].
The [PDF Settings] dialog box appears.
8. Specify the required settings as needed and click [OK]:
[Create Searchable PDF] Converts the characters in the document to text data and makes the PDF document searchable with keywords.
[Text Language] Select the language of the text to be scanned. The characters may be recognized more accurately if you select [English] from the drop-down list and set [Image Quality] to [300 dpi] or higher in [Scanner Settings].
[PDF Compression] Select [High] for color images such as photos or illustrations to reduce file sizes.
9. Click [Start].
Note:
A folder with the scanning date will be created in the [MY PICTURES] folder in the [MY DOCUMENTS] folder, and your document will be saved in this folder. If there is no [MY PICTURES] folder, the folder with the scanning date will be created in the [MY DOCUMENTS] folder and your document saved in this folder.
For text documents or black-and-white documents, it is recommended you select either [BLACK and WHITE] or [GRAYSCALE] in [SCAN MODE].
If making a Multiple PDF with color documents ([IMAGE QUALITY] set to [300 dpi]), it is recommended that the PDF have fewer than 20 pages.
The MF toolbox can be loaded from your software CD or downloaded here from the "Drivers & Software" tab on the Canon USA website.
I can understand some confusion on having to select "Remote Scanner" when you have a direct computer connection to your product. The reason for this is that first, the "Remote Scanner" mode refers to seeing your computer as a stand alone, or remote, device; however, the "Computer" scanning mode option allows you to select which computer will be performing a scan when doing so over a network (Max: up to 10 computers).
Another reason for having to select the scan mode is that the selection is not programmed but selected based on the type of scan you will be performing at the time.
