AdobeRGB Color Space Not Available

Using a Windows 7 operating sytem with PSE 10 and an Epson Artisan 1430.
Everything listed above is currently updated.
In PSE Color settings Always Optimize for Printing is selected.
When preparing to print AdobeRGB is indicated in the PSE printer driver in the Color Management window.
When I click Advanced and go to the Epson printer I choose ICM. In the Imput Profiles window the only color space available is sRGB. No AdobeRGB.
Searched for it through a combination of other settings, but no AdobeRGB. I have updated the printer driver and rebooted the computer, but still no luck.
Is this an issue with Epson or PSE?

I looked at your attachment and get the same options. My question is
regarding the selections once I go to the Epson Printer Driver. There is
an advanced button in there where you select ICM and the colour space.
Initially I was thinking it was an Epson issue since it's in their printer
driver, but when I connect the printer to two separate computers both using
PSE 10, one gives me the option to choose sRGB or Adobe RGB and the other
computer only gives me sRGB.
The option to choose Adobe RGB exists in PSE's Colour Management area, but
it does not exist once I go into Epson's Printer driver where I would
choose other options such as Borderless / Gloss / High Speed etc.
Is there any reason you can think of why the Adobe RGB option would exist
in one computer, but not the other when I'm using the same version of PSE
in both, the same printer on both and all drivers - printer - graphics card
and PSE have been updated.

Send to Color is not available in FCP

Hi,
Last year I installed final cut studio 2, and have FCP 6.0 and Color 1.0 installed on the same computer. When I go to the Send command on FCP, the option to send to Color is not available.
I'd like to mess around with Color, but can't get any clips on it..
Anyone had this problem or knows how to fix it ?

COLOR is not there at all in the "Send To.." pulldown tab... or
it is greyed out?
Can't help much in the first instance because its not in my experience base... might be a prefs or install issue. If its not offered, but is named, then its a case of selecting the open sequence.
It is also possible to open COLOR separately, name a project, SAVE it, and have it become active. You should be able to navigate to a media directory in the SETUP/Shots dialogue, and import clips from there. Be sure to set the project fps rate before importing any media... that is a project deal breaker from the getgo. There are very few after-the-fact "sequence setting" options. After adding media, it is not possible to change the frame rate of the timeline. It was the first thing to check off in Final Touch before proceeding with anything else.
Kind of like setting frame dominance and interlace in SHAKE. Immediately.

Color Yellow not Available

Suddenly the color yellow is unavailable on OS 5.7 and FCE 4.01, using Power MAC G5. Recently uploaded suggested updates, iTunes, Security, etc. Color yellow no longer appears. I changed monitors and it is still not available. I tried to update colors on displays under system preferences. It did not work. What did I miss?

How do you mean the color is not available? Is your entire display tinted blue or turquoise, or are all other colors correct, except yellow hues? If so, how close do you get - what about orange? Is it only one specific yellow that is gone, or all yellows? What about BEFORE the system even starts, if you hold down ALT as the system boots up, or if you start from the Install DVDs?
If the entire display is tinted, I would say your display adapter is pooched, if you have one. If you don't use an adapter, the video card.
You could try creating a new user and see if that user has the same problem. If it does not, the problem is specific to your user, and is probably a setting or a strange program you installed for yourself. Removing that should resolve the issue.
If the display looks good from the install DVD, you have an OS X issue, or settings issue. Archive-and-install should resolve that.

AdobeRGB color space from camera

My camera (Canon EOS Rebel XTi/400D) can be set to a Color Space that is either sRGB (the default) or AdobeRGB. As an experiment, I set it to AdobeRGB and processed a few photos (both JPGs and RAWs) through PSE5, which came out fine.
However, I noticed that the metadata for those photos shows "Untagged RGB" instead of AdobeRGB. This doesn't matter in my normal workflow, since I have set PSE5 to import untagged photos as AdobeRGB. But it might mess up other workflows.
I wonder if it is considered normal behavior for a camera to produce AdobeRGB photos that are not tagged as such, or if it is a peculiarity of this particular brand or model.
(It also occurred to me later that the color space tag set by the camera only matters when shooting JPG, not when shooting RAW. The Camera RAW converter always converts to the color space that I have set PSE5 to, regardless of how the photo is tagged.)

Your post has prompted me to investigate as I have recently come across the same issue.
I have a Canon 20d and have set it to use AdobeRGB colour space. I recently noticed that a JPEG image file appears as untagged in the metadata in Elements 5 Organiser but when in the editor it confirms it has the AdobeRGB space as the "Image/Convert Colour profile" instruction only offers to convert to sRGB or Remove Profile options. Furthermore the print dialogue confirms the presence of the AdobeRGB colour space. This has not been applied since importing from the camera as I have set the colour management option to "Let Me Choose" for this test.
The camera instruction book says if AdobeRGB is set in the camera the file name will start with an underscore: _MG which they do and that the ICC profile "is not appended" which may explain its absence in the metadata.
As you suggested, RAW files do not appear to carry a colour space regardless of the camera setting although the file name still starts with _MG so perhaps it does? but on conversion using Adobe ACR with Elements, it attaches the colour space to the resulting file depending on the colour management setting and will use Adobe RGB if I set it to Always optimise for printing.

Trying to Export - Quicktime to DPX - in Linear (R709) Color space NOT LOG

Hello,
I am trying to export an image sequence through compressor from a Linear (R709) color space. When I try to do the dpx image sequence output it changes the files to LOG.
Is there a way to pass the material through without any color space changes?

FYI, In the Inspector, and filtes, COLOR tab> Output Color Space: Default for Encoder (CAN NOT BE CHANGED - It is greyed out)

PS CS6 Smartobject - Changing color space not working

If I initially open a smartobject from ACR into PS CS6 using one color space, eg. sRGB, should it then be possible to click back into ACR and change color space to Adobe RGB ???
This is important to me, since working most of the time in sRGB, batch editing lot's of files (for timelapse-video, hence sRGB), but sometimes it may be nessecary to go back and use Adobe RGB to make a best possible print of one of the stills.
This is not working for me. I thought I should be able to do absolutely non-destructive editing when working with smartobjects from ACR, but this may seem to not be the case.

I understand now that a copy of the original RAW file is made when working with SO.
Still, when checking what color space I am working in (in PS CS6), after changing from sRGB to aRGB, PS still tells me I am working in sRGB!!
So what I am asking, going back from a SO in PS, into ACR, to change the color space, does not work.
Is there a workaround for this?
Or is it something I still do not understand here?

Color spaces not sticking...?

What's Confusing: I have a layered file, the color space assigned to it is sRGB. I save a png file via Save For Web, tick the option to convert export to sRGB. All looks good in the save for web 2-up preview. But when I open the new png file, it's color profile is set to Adobe RGB, and the color space looks off—not like it did in the SFW preview.
Details: My default color space is Adobe RGB. Sync'd across all CS5 apps. I have the option ticked to warn me on profile mismatches when opening a file. So far so good.
So it seems like my Working Space color (Adobe RGB) is overriding SFW settings as well as my document color space settings
Same thing happens when saving as a jpg.
Any thoughts?

To erase, delete or reset Save For Web & Devices SFW preferences:
Open a small .jpg in Photoshop (to ungray the File menu).
Mac: Press and hold Option+Command keys, while File> Save For Web Devices (you will get a prompt confirming you want to erase all Save for Web preferences).
Windows PC: Press and hold Control+Alt keys, while File> Save For Web Devices (you will get a prompt confirming you want to erase all Save for Web preferences).
that should configure SFW default settings to CONVERT your Photoshop Source Space to sRGB and strip the ICC profile by default
How to reset Photoshop's preferences using special key combinations (most Adobe apps use this method of keystrokes):
First Quit Photoshop.
Mac: Press and hold Command+Option+Shift keys, while opening Photoshop (you will get a prompt confirming you want to delete the Adobe Photoshop settings folder).
Windows PC: Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift keys, while opening Photoshop (you will get a prompt confirming you want to delete the Adobe Photoshop settings folder).

AppleWorks color menu not available

I've tried to find the color menu and was told to trash preferences and restart but prefs is not available either. Please let me know what I can do to get my color back and also what could have happened to the
file preferences. Thanks.

The "Text Color" menu, at least when we are working in a text document is available at the very bottom of the menu "Text".
I never saw a corrupted preference file removing this menu item.
If you are missing the Text color BUTTON, it is an other story.
You may have a corrupted "AppleWorks 6 Button Bars" preference file.
Or you may have removed the button from the button bar.
If you did that, look at the help for the chapter beginning with:
Adding or removing Button Bar buttons
AppleWorks comes with many preconfigured buttons for common tasks. You can add these controls to the Button Bar.
To add a preconfigured button to the Button Bar:
1 Choose Preferences from the AppleWorks menu, then choose Button Bar from the submenu.
2 Drag the preconfigured button from the Available Buttons list to the Button Bar.
Tip: You can also double-click the button in the list to add it to the Button Bar.

HT201250 My time machine keeps failing to backup due to space not available.

I have a 500 gb external that I use for backups, but for some reason there is only 208gb available for backup. When I open up my time machine, I have deleted all of my old backups. For some reason, I can not get at the other available space. Everytime I open up time machine, there is nothing there now. I don't know how to access the other space. Where did the other space go & how do I get it back?
I did recently take this machine in to have a new hard drive installed & they used the time machine to back up all of my files. Now I don't know how to access that other space. Any thoughts?

I'm not certain that I fully understand you situation.
I surmise that you have deleted all of the files from the external HDD that you use for Time Machine. If that is the case, I would I would erase and reformat the Time Machine Disk in Disk Utility and reinstall it as your Time Machine disk.

Swap Space not available while installation

I am trying to install Primavera however it gives me error that swap space available is 0MB, minimum required is 500 MB.
I checked in virtual memory and found that 3948 MB is available as virtual memory.
Please advise solution immediately.

This means I have around 5.5 GB free swap space?!
Then does oracle maul I have 0 swap space??? (150MB is required by default in the oraparam.ini file)

Space not available on Mac Pro Desktop

When i brough the Mac Pro Desktop in late 2009, i got 1 TB of disk space; currenty i see a no space available error on my desktop. i checked by Mac Pro setting and it only shows me that 500 Gb is full, but i cannot find a trace for the rest of the 500 Gb.
My apple warranty has expired on this equipment, so any ideas anyone ?

The message has nothing to do with low disk space. There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory. That can happen for two reasons:
You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The process named "Safari Web Content" renders web pages for Safari and other applications. It uses a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider it a prime suspect.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing softwre. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

Ipad says I cant download a video because not enough space, yet in SETTINGS shows plenty of space available?

So you are trying to sync the video to your iPad?
If so, when the iPad is plugged in you can see the coloured bar which shows how much space is used by each type of file, what is that showing left remaining on your iPad?

Sims 2 not working, space not available?

I wanted to uninstall my sims 2 game so that I could reinstall and start over. So I googled how to do that, deleted the EA games folder and sims folder from my hard drive. So I clicked on the Package Installer in the game's folder to install the game again. But it says that I need at least 1 mg free of local disk space. So I removed a bunch of stuff from my dock and deleted folders and it still say I can't install because of lack of space. And I don't have a lot of things saved on my computer, the most I have is my music

If you bought 'The Sims 2' for Mac then it will only run on either a PowerPC Mac or an Intel Mac running OS X, not under Windows with BootCamp unfortunately. This means that you can't attempt to run it in "PC" mode. The Apple Store states that the minimum 'Graphics' requirements to run The Sims 2 are either an ATI 9200 and higher, or a GeForce FX5200 and higher. Unfortunately they don't quite take into account that they are shipping macs with Intels integrated graphics chipset now, and no Intel specific requirements are mentioned in the system requirements. It does however state that a minimum of 32MB Graphics Power is required to run the game, and the GMA950 that is in your mac mini has upto 64MB shared, meaning that technically it should run fine.
It must simply be a problem in the way that the Intel graphics chip processes visuals that are specific to the game its self and unfortunately you can't upgrade the Graphics chip inside your mac mini - it's soldered in! A call to the Apple Care Help Line may be your best bet, because the chances of you being able to get it running, aren't really looking all too good unfortunately =(

I am trying to use ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE and
CONCUR_UPDATABLE (using IBM DB2 JDBC 2.0) but I get
run time error :
SQL Exception.SQLState = null Error code = 0 Error
message = Updatable result set is not supported by
this version of the DB2 JDBC 2.0 driver.
