When I searched for the word error in the log file I found this line

What can I do to fix this problem apart from trying again?
Also which 7 items was the error found? And is that relevant?

OPatch returns with error code = 170

Performing Critical Patch Update (April 2007), attempting to run opatch apply when the following error is encountered:
"OPatch returns with error code = 170"
Note: Directory is a number

This is my understanding of how the two primary software sets act. I'll break it down through a series of step I use to form a worksheet created every time a CPU comes out. This is on a Windows platform but I suspect it is similar if on xxIX; also, these patch numbers are for 10gDB/AS R1; yours will likely vary.
1. Database server
a. Download patch 5907304 zip to d:\temp
b. Unzip to d:\temp ==> creates d:\temp\5907304
c. Change directory to d:\temp\5907304
d. run Opatch
2. App server
a. Down load patch 5922119 zip to d:\temp
b. Unzip to d:\temp ==> creates d:\temp\5922119
c. Change directory to d:\temp\5922119\5922119
d. run Opatch

Help with updates - The software change returned error code 0x87D00215(-2016411115).

I have rolled out bunch of updates across few hundred workstation systems.
Few of the desktops have failed to install SOME of the updates and just can't get my head around as to why?
Looking at one of the workstations, I can see 5 updates are pending download at 0%.
Some of these fail after a while and with in Software Centre, I can see 'Help with updates - The software change returned error code 0x87D00215(-2016411115).'. Not exactly sure what this means, but I have tried clearing the cache and
rebooting the workstations few times.
(I have also tried to use Windows Update and install one of these manually, which worked.)

Investigating this further, I have found the following in CAS.log:

I have sold the Material to customer from Manufacturing Plat to customer.

Outbound delivery- VL01N
Pro forma - JEX
Excise Invoice - J1IIN
Invoice - VF01
Now customer wants to return the goods with the same Excise Invoice issued from Plant.
Return Order - VA01
Inbound Delivery - VL01N
Now what are the steps to capture the Excise Details..........?
We are using one more transaction (=/BEV1/SR0) here to keep the goods in to Unrestricted or Blocked stock and it will create Credit memo request automatically.
so please guide me is this step need to be done before Excise details are captured ?
It is very urgent to me. please send me the steps for the above mentioned scenario.

Some how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! When you said unable to insert to database, do you mean you get all ? marks in the database or garbage characters in the database?
? marks mean there are some byte chop off, and garbage characters mean the bytes are ok, just encoding problem.

For updation of excise related sales returns, run T.Code J1IH and do the following:-
Customer Credit
Choose the Additional excise input the original excise invoice reference, document year, company code, plant and excise group and execute. There input manually what value you need to give credit and save.
Cenvat Debit
Choose Other Adjustment and here also, maintain the datas whatever you input as above and save.

Native SQL - Runtime Error: DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR (OCI returned error code)

I have sometimes a problem with a NATIVE SQL-Statement.
Runtime Error text:

Sometimes it works and sometimes we have this error.

::getpeername() returns error code 10057 (on a connected socket)

Hi, I am blocked on this issue and cannot find a solution by myself. Maybe someone has encountered a similar issue and could provide some hints.
Calling ::getpeername() (Win 7 x64) on an accepted (and open!) socket connection returns error code 10057 (for code details, please see the code snippet attached):
"A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied."
Any ideas why ::getpeername() fails with 10057 although ::getsockopt() says the socket is connected?

You also have to set the SO_UPDATE_ACCEPT_CONTEXT option on the socket before you can use getpeername. Mike L [MSFT] has provided a
community addition note (entitled "Does not work on accepted sockets without calling setsockopt() first") to
the documentation of getpeername to this effect.
