  • Flash Player seems to install fine but still doesn't work

I am having the same problem with Firefox 3.6.13 as well as IE 8.0
OS Name    Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Version    5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
I hope someone can help me.

Well, is there any Adobe programs you don't have? LOL, maybe I should have asked that:-) Thanks for the info. It is revealing and curious as well.
You have the Adobe Flash Player plugin (non-IE browsers-FF), but not the Shockwave Flash Control in your browser plugins.
You don't have the Adobe Flash Player ActiveX in Add/Remove, but you DO have the Shockwave Flash Object Control in your IE browser. Hmmmm How or why that happened, I don't know. Some glitch when Uninstalling/Installing FP, I would guess.
I see the Adobe download Manager as well (DLM) and can see that you would need that for certain Adobe programs. Since Flash Player is a browser plugin(ActiveX for IE and Plugins for the non-IE browsers) and the download is under 3MB it is better not to use it. However, I am more interested in the addons that the DLM used for FP Installs.
Go to Tools, Manage addons and look under "Show"(light text) in all categories and see if you have a getplus, get_atlcom Class or a DLM Control listed. Look in the Toolbar & Extensions also.
Do the same with FF, plugins, addons and extensions.
On the FlashPlayerTrust, go back to your Flash files, right click on it and open and see what files are listed.
Let me know on the above and did I ask you what Anti-Virus you use? If not, let me know that also.
    Thanks,

  • Flash Player says it installs.. but no media content works/shows plug in required message

    Hello,
I recently updated my Firefox to the newest version. In doing so, I was prompted to update my Flash Player. I went ahead and downloaded and installed the new version, as I have before. Except this time, after the installation was complete, every site I visited requiring the Flash Player to show multimedia content... shows the dreaded plug in required message. I have attempted to reinstall the player MULTIPLE times. I have deleted and reinstalled Firefox. Nothing has helped, and I am becoming increasingly frustrated. There is no indication the installation has failed aside from the fact that no multimedia content works.
I am on a MAC version 10.4.11 if that is of any help to anyone. Would appreciate any help as this is getting really tiresome.
    Thanks.

Probably you get that message because the flash plugin
checker they implemented is checking for a specific version and not
    higher then x.

  • I download adobe flash player for my macbook pro, but nothing that requires adobe flash player works

i download adobe flash player for my macbook pro, but nothing that requires adobe flash player works. i haven"t tried much, but only because i have no idea what to do.

After you've installed Flash Player (you have to mount the disk image by double-clicking and the double-click the insatller package) restart your browser and go to youTube, for example, -> http://www.youtube.com/ - and see if the videos play.
Call back if you need any further help.

  • My firefox deleted the existing adobe flash player 10.3.183.7 BUT I'm unable to download the new flash drive 10.3.183.10. Can I go back to the old flash player (10.3.183.7)

    I am running Windows XP.
my firefox deleted the existing adobe flash player 10.3.183.7 BUT I'm unable to download the new flash drive 10.3.183.10. Now I can't play anything. Can I go back to the old flash player (10.3.183.7)?''

There is something wrong with the download that Adobe is pointing too. You can get the working download here:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_10.exe
    That solved my problem immediately.
I got this info from this post on the Adobe forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3947097#3947097
    Flash Download Problems
    WindowsXP SP3
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20110902 SeaMonkey/2.3.3
(Note well: Internally, SeaMonkey 2.3.3 is the same as Firefox 6.0.2. They both use the same Gecko 6.0.2 for rendering Web pages, interfacing with the Internet, downloading, etc.) They differ only in the user interface (menus, buttons, etc).
I see two problems when trying to download a new version of Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. .
    1. Your Web server is sniffing for my browser. I select the "Download now" button, and I get the same page all over again. The navigation is looping. If I spoof Firefox 6.0.2, however, I do get a download. This means you are sniffing for "Firefox" when you should be sniffing for "Gecko".
    2. While spoofing Firefox, the download gives me install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe, which is not the installer for Flash Player 10.3.183.10. Instead, it is some kind of helper. To get the correct installer file, I had to search my archives to find the URI http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win /install_flash_player_10.exe.
Both of these problems were previously cited in this forum at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3885371. Neither problem has been fixed.

For some reason, the Flash Player on my MAC Pro stopped working, I've checked the install on my Adobe Flash Player and the are current, but the plug-ins don't seem to be working.  Can anyone help me get it working?

It happened w/ my MacPro 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon about 5 months ago; tried everything I could think of including multiple downloads of Flash, and hadn't seen any solutions here.  Adobe insisted many times that I download & update, but the newest vers. wouldn't work on the computer.
On checking Adobe/Flash was reading the computer as being an earlier model. So the new version of Flash wouldn't work w/ it.  Snow Leopard 10.6.8 was being read correctly but not the computer model (can't remember what MP model  it was reading).
Nothing worked. So -- a very old PC trick: If nothing else works get the hammer out and bludgeon it-- might work. So I reset everything by putting the Snow Leopard  install disk in, held down 'C' on restart and let it run.
Didn't take anything off the HDD first, just ran the install disk over everything.
The experts on the forums are probably cringing right now & I'd like very much for them to jump in. Love to know how my computer model was being mis-read. All I can say is, for the brave and desparate, it worked for me. Something to keep in mind.
It helped that I had a new computer on order & have 2 backups, one being mandatory. Might work only the one time but worth a check.
Good luck on working this one out.

If you are talking about Safari on the iPad, there is no version of Adobe Flash for iOS and there never has been. Clear Safari, close the app and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you are talking about Safari on your Mac, you are in the wrong forum. But I would still clear the cache, quit Safari and restart the Mac.

  • Won't load adobe flash player say safari is open

Am trying to install adobe flash player on my new machine, but when installing it hangs and tells me to that safari is open - which, as far as I can tell, it isn't. Any help out there?

Neither Safari, or the System Preferences panel can be open when installing Adobe Flash. After initial installation, a new Flash Player panel is added to System Preferences, where you can check for Flash updates on the Flash Player panel advanced tab. On that tab, there are three choices for Updates. Mine is set to Notify.
When you click the Check Now button, and a newer version is available, there are two possible outcomes. Adobe will pop a dialog that allows you to start the download process. When you see this, exit System Preferences. Sometimes, Adobe will direct you to their official Flash download page. This will download into your default download (Downloads) folder, but not automatically install.
To install it, make sure Safari and System Preferences are closed, then single-click the Downloads icon on your Dock, next to the Trash icon. The item at the bottom of the stack that pops up is the Flash Installer. Single-click it, to launch the installer. Once installed, right-click on the installer icon on your Desktop and eject it.
