Adress book conduit disappeared from the application sync list
I installed the Groupwise PDA connect and it wiped out the entry for the Address book conduit in the applications list.
I like to sync my contacts to the Palm Desktop (ver 6.2) and the calendar, tasks, etc. to Groupwise.
I found a fix for this a few weeks ago, but I had to do a hard reset to upgrade my Palm for Sprint version 1.07 and the problem re-appeared.
I am using a Palm Centro.

Why has my safari icon disappeared from the applications bar after the recent software update?
Everything was working perfectly until I uploaded the most recent software update. When I restarted my laptop I found that the Safari icon had disappeared from my applications bar. If I go to my 'recent places' and click on Safari it then reappears but only until I close the laptop down as the next time I start it up, it's nowhere to be seen. Can anyone help?
by applications bar you mean "dock"? After you click on recent places and start safari it will reappear in the dock and at this point you will want to control + click (right click) on the SAFARI icon and hover to options, make sure that "KEEP IN DOCK" has a check mark next to it. If it does not, click that option. Now it will keep the Safari Icon in your dock.

Contacts disappeared from the master contact list ...
Ok, I have a new problem to update with FP2. Suddenly last evening I noticed that all my contacts are showing as unnamed, although their details are intact. Just the names are missing. The whatsapp favorites/contacts list looks fine and the contact search before making a call is also identifying the contacts. The names have disappeared only from the master contacts list. I tried doing the usual restart couple of times. Also did a Nokia sync but the issue hasn't been resolved. I'm worried about restoring the backup lest the problem remains. Please anybody suggest a remedy.

How I Solved the Problem of ATV Disappearing from the iTunes Devices List..
When I purchased the ATV early this week, it was running fine until I tried to change some settings i.e. making my macbook sync to an external HDD.
That's when the problem starts... I cannot see my ATV in the iTunes device list anymore!
Tried all the various tips in the forum but to no avail.
The weird thing is... if I set the connection like this..
Macbook --- Time Capsule --- ATV (Failed to see ATV in list)
Macbook --- ATV via Ethernet Cable (OK but problem of firewall error etc)
Macbook --- Time Capsule (connect with Ethernet) --- ATV (Sometimes ok but have firewall problem)
I can "see" that the ATV connects to the Time Capsule with no problem.
However, when I tried to "ping", I found out that my Macbook cannot ping the ATV thru the Time capsule even though I can "ping" other computers connected to the TC. In this case, the ATV got the IP address via DHCP.
The moment I changed to "Manual" IP settings, I can PING!!
That's when iTunes can list back the ATV in the devices list!!

My (saved) book totally disappeared from the Book module in Lightroom
Dear +Adobe Photoshop Lightroom,
I have been working for the past 100 hours or so on a 200+ page book in the book module in LR4.
Went to work on a second book that I had just begun to organize and came back to a full filmstrip (including the usage numbers showing me that all of the images had been used including a tiny 2 for a cover image) and the 4 blank pages we all see upon starting a project.
My entire book was gone. Poof!
I'm surprised you didn't hear my scream all the way in San Jose.
This couldn't be...I had officially saved the book several weeks ago when I first began it and had been working on it steadily ever since.
(For the record, I am working on a Mac OS X v10.7.5 and updated LR to v4.2.)
I can't begin to tell you the sick feeling over losing this amount of work.
I went to your LR forums to see if this was unique to me (Did I inadvertently hit a button I shouldn't have?)
I have always felt very confidant in LR's "saving" and "backup" abilities. Now I am devastated and have lost total confidence.
Do I try again in LR or move to another program?

When I opened my most recent backup of LR, all the text was missing and many of the images were in color (this is a book of monochrome imagery)

When I went into my Time Capsule backups, same thing.
No text and many images were reset to original RAW files as if no post-processing had been done.

The thing that is genuinely unsettling is Adobe's lack of response to the issues expressed in the forums.
Surely the book making ability is an important one to your audiences?
Did I mention how sick I am over this?
So my question is this...can you help me? Can anyone there help me?
Because I really need help right now and don't want to lose confidence in a company that has always provided me with the tools I make my living from.
Or should I put this out publicly.
Right now I want to scream "Do not under any circumstances make a book using the book module in LR 4 until this devastating issue is addressed!!!"
(Fortunately, I have over 2,000,000 followers here on Google+ but not to worry...many do not speak English or know Adobe as anything more than material used to build huts.)
I am trying to stay reasonable. But again, I am very concerned over the lack of responsiveness on Adobe's part. Perhaps that will help get this problem addressed. Or more importantly, help a few other creative folks avoid how absolutely devastated I feel right now.

How can I remove old calendar names from the iTunes sync list?
I gave my calendars new names as part of reducing the total number of calendars in my iCal, and now iTunes still lists the old calendar names as well as the new ones in its "selected calendars" list, even though these names are no longer present in my iCal nor on my iPod Touch. How can I remove the old calendar names?
The "genius" folks at the Apple Store lived up to their names. The key was to reset the iSync history in the iSync Preferences.

Satellite C660D - wireless device just disappeares from the device manager
My **Toshiba Satellite C660D-1en** has suddenly deleted its Wireless Lan adapter. I tried to add few from the add legacy hardware list from the device manager and every possible solutions what so ever (Trust me i am working on it for last 7 days) but no success. when i switch on the radar it says wireless device switched off. more over from the flash card the F8- wireless connection enable button has also disappeared.
Guys this is really silly and frustrating. guys please help. I have downloaded all the available wireless adapter driver available on Toshiba's website. please help me by replying to this post or email me : [email protected]

Your notebook supports the Realtek 802.11(b/g/n) RTL8188CE WLan chip.
First of all you should check the control panel -> software are
Check if there is something installed related to Realtek Wlan driver.
If yes, then uninstall this piece of software firstly.
If you will not find any Realtek Wlan software there, I recommend downloading the driver from here:

The latest available version seems to be 1005.19.0420.2011

How to stop application folder form disappearing from the dock
I'm on MAC OS 10.6.7 on my Macbook 7.1. My applications folder disappeared from the dock. I can drag a new copy from the Mac Hard Disk folder to the dock (to the right of the dashed line (my dock is at the bottom) and it appears with an Address book icon. After 10 to 15 seconds, the icon disappears.
Anyone know what is going on and how to fix this?Not sure why this is happening, but try this. This is the way I've done it. First, make an alias of the folder (File>make alias) and put it somwhere, like Documents. Then, copy drag it (Option-click) to the part of the dock below or to the side of the separator near the Trash icon. This will place an alias of the folder in the Dock. You must keep the first alias you made.
You can also make one just for Utilities, the same way. The app folder will appear with an A and the Utilties folder will appear with an X.
EDIT: It's been a while now, but I think I got rid of the default app folder because I didn't like the way it looked and functioned.
You can also see I put an alias of my home folder there, as well.
Might as well mention another customisation. Get Tinkertool (free) Go to Dock>Disable Dock Expose to get rid of the very annoying -- at least to me -- entire screen turning black when opening one of the Dock icon's options.

So basically, I got a lot of the songs on my iPod from a different Apple ID than to the one I am currently using. I want to sync my iPod to the Apple ID I am currently using but I want to know if the songs on my iPod from the previous Apple ID will disappear off of the iPod or go all grey so that I cant select them? I know that Apple says that it will delete the songs from my old Apple ID but what I noticed is that when I've deleted songs from my iPod using iTunes in the past is that they don't disappear from the iPod, they stay there but the names go grey so that I cant select them. Basically I want to know which will happen. Sorry if this is a bit confusing...

Launchpad had disappeared from Dock. Launchpad is present in Applications but refuses to activate. How to activate and make available in Dock?
iMac 21.5 mid 2010. os x v10.7.2.You should be able to put Launchpad back in the Dock by dragging it from the Applications folder to the left section of the Dock. As to why it won't launch, run the Console utility, try to run Launchpad, and see if any messages appear in the Console window.

After creating an alias, the App Store application has disappeared from the Launchpad. Huh?!
So, I opened the Applications folder, then selected the App Store application and created an alias of it.
Now, when I activate the Launchpad the original app is nowhere to be found. The alias is there, but the application proper is not displayed.
It IS displayed (as well as the alias) in the Applications folder when I open that in the Finder.
I have no idea how to remedy this. Logging out and back in is fruitless. And a reboot makes no difference.

Interestingly, I just tried a similar thing with the Adobe Reader app...created an alias of the application in the Applications folder. The same thing happened. The Adobe application disappeared from the Launchpad, replaced by the working alias. The fix for that was to delete the alias from the Applications folder. Then copy the Adobe app onto the desktop and finally copy it back into the Applications folder, answering "Replace" the original when prompted.
Of course, when attempting to copy the App Store app back into the Applications folder, the process cannot be completed because the OS says... “App Store” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X." -
ical (the calendar program) that came with this apple mac pc suddenly stopped working. When I pulled the icon from the desktop, it then disappeared from the computer.I have been using it from the desktop for the past two years, without trouble. It has uninstalled itself, without my intervention and has eradicated all traces of it, including all my entries from the computer memory. There is no program in the applications list. I can't tell you why the contacts disappear but you can get them back without much hassle by syncing through iTunes with your computer.
do you regularly make backups? if so, you can restore your iPhone using the backups and get your contacts back in your iPhone.

Why is it that when I delete an email message from an account on my iPhone it instantly disappears from the same email account on my wife's iPhone? We both have iOS7 and have imap email accounts.
not all mail providers sync the send mail part of the mail box
you can try to contact yahoo if this is the case with them
