Adress book not saving new card

Since Lion my adress book cannot save a new card any more.
This is what i do, i add or make a new card manually or from importing a .vcf file
it appears fine in the adress book.
It does not update to MobileMe nor to the iPhone when syncing and when i close the adress book app and reopen the card is no longer there.
i tried to delete the user/Library/preferences/com.apple.AdressBook.plist and
user/Library/preferences/com.apple.AdressBook.abd.plist
but no change
Any thoughts on what to try next?

Yes, i can add a contact on MobileMe and it syncs to my adress book EVEN if i close and reopen...
(THEN i can edit the card in Adress Book and it stays in Adress Book!)

Birthday from Adress Book not shown in iCal

Hi, I have checked option "Show Birthday Calendar" in iCal, but birthdays from Adress Book not shown. I found where is problem: Contact's birthdays from local adress book (On My Mac) are shown properly in iCal, but contact's birthdays from my adress book on Exchange 2007 (RU9) are not shown... I think this is a bug to be fixed...

Wish I'd looked here first! Have just spent a couple of hours trying to get birthdays to appear in iCal after completing an upgrade from Exchange 2003 to 2007. Same problem as reported above - they don't appear. I've tried Dates 2 iCal (shareware with good reviews) but it doesn't seem to help.
Copying the Exchange address book to 'on my Mac' doesn't seem to do anything either.
The only workaround I can think of is manually adding recurring events into the Exchange calendar for the relevant birthdays. That's a pain, and kind of flies in the face of the whole "integrates natively with Exchange, something even Microsoft doesn't do" tag. A more accurate tag would seem to be "doesn't work quite as well as iCal under Leopard" (he said, slightly grumpily).
Anyone have any other ideas?

Config.saveNew() is not saving new config hdr id inside CZ_CONFIG_HDRS

Hi,
I am trying to create a new configuration using CIO something as below.But I see that api is returning new configuration hdr id but i dont see that id in CZ_CONFIG_HDRS table.Here is sample code inside java concurrent program.

config.completeBeforeSave();
config.saveNew();

Am I missing anything.Why this code is not saving new config hdr id inside the table CZ_CONFIG_HDRS. Please suggest if anything is missing here.

I have done something similar and followed your approach.
The only real difference I see is that after "closeConfiguration(config)", I had these two lines:
context.releaseJDBCConnection();
context.free();
This was over a year ago and it was only a proof of concept. But I do recall that my test code was properly generating the record in CZ_CONFIG_HDRS. Perhaps these two additional lines would enforce the "commit" of the records. It might be worth a try.

Phone book not saving entries

i recently got my blackberry pearl and im having some problems with it
i go to my address book and its saying 'no addresses' so i put on in it and saved but when i go back to the address book it still says 'no addresses' so then i found out how to switch to sim card phone book and copy them to phonebook from there and it says it was doing it but then when i went back to phone book it still says 'no addresses'
how can i move my contacts from my sim to my adresses book without having to go in and find them in my sim card?

You can do them all at one time, by accessing your SIM card at Address Book > Menu > SIM Phone Book > Copy all .
Then after, back in the address book, make sure at Address Book > Menu > Filters, that NO filters are checked.

Contacts will not allow new cards, unresponsive

I have 10.8.2 on an IMac 27" year 2011, Mountain Lion. Contacts app will open, toolbar, however cannot create new cards or view address book. How do I resolve this? I tried repairing permissions which didn't help. Thanks!

Disable Contacts in the iCloud System Pref, if you are using that. Then, try the steps I outline here: After Lion upgrade, my addressbook does not work++
If that fixes it, re-enable iCloud.

Autocomplete is not saving new entries in forms (gmail subject exaclty)

It used to work ok - Gmail subject used to be saved, and I could reuse it with drop down list shown when writing first letters. But it stopped to save new entries. Saved before are still avialalble, but not new.
In other forms (on other sites), autocomplete is still fully operational, with saving new entries with no problem.

Since I need to send many e-mail with same subject daily, I managed this problem in some way.
I created simple html file, with only this inside:

</form>
When I need to save new subject, I open this file (no need to be uploaded, works from hard drive), write my subject, and click save.
Then it is avialable in gmail.
Strange, stupid, but works :)

I have a MacBook Pro and have an older SD card reader but it will not read new cards. Is there a new reader that I need to install. I have MAC OS X 10.6.8

Does anyone know why my computer will not read newer SD cards. I have a reader that read early cards fine but not the new ones.

How many GB is your new card?
Older machines have SD card slot, new machines have SDX card slot.

Adress Book not tranlate in French ?...

I've juste upgrade my MBP in 10.6 (in French) and the Adress Book talk US ?...

For me the menus and menus' items are in French (Carnet d'Adresses, Fichier, Edition, Présentation, ...) but not the labels in the window : "group", "name" although I can read "fiches" at the bottom of the window. Thus I think it's only partially translated. Quite messy and unprofessional, isn't it dear Steve ?

Safari is not saving new bookmarks

Safari will not save new bookmarks. What do I do to reset or fix the problem?

I had the same problem and in fact could not even retrieve my old bookmarks . What finally worked was something very basic, please try rebooting your IPad after leaving it off for 30-40 seconds , worked for me . All my original bookmarks are back and can add new ones too now.

Planning book not saved

A profile assigned to a selection ID does not u2018sticku2019 ... the selection ID loses the fcst profile once it is called back up again
Basically when I assign a forecast profile in interactive planning - it is not being saved...
When I enter again in SDP94 I am getting blank screen. basically it should save the last screen we visit.
is there any process to stick back last visited screen. when we reopen the SDP 94.
Could any one guide me please..

Hi,
1)Load the planning book/data view
2)You load the selection in selection in planning book
3)Load the selection
4)Go to the change mode
5)Click the interactive selection
6)In the profile tab change the profile which you want to run
7)Run the forecasting cycle by clicking the button in top row
8)In the Profile tab save the profile by pressing save button
9)Save the data again by clicking the save button in the top row
10)Come out of interactive & reopen interactive
11)You can see the earlier master profile what you changes

Notes in Mail not saving, new notes can't be created

Ok, so for awhile I was using the Notes feature in Mail (10.5; all fully updated) to get off of Stickies which are apparently bad (and non-Syncable)... All was well until I realized that changes to Notes weren't being saved and when I create a new Note, hit Done, it doesn't save. I'm trying to save these to my .Mac account, so it should be a space or perms issue.
Thoughts?

I click the Note button, nothing happens. The feature is completely out of service. I don't understand. Am I missing something obvious? I have tried the keystrokes too, no reaction at all, no errors, just can't use Notes, at all! rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Please help.
Update: I opened Console to see if I could find any errors immediate after trying to create a note and this is what I found:

IPhoto not saving new imports

Suddenly when opening or trying to import photos I'm getting a new (actually my first) error message:
An error occurred while trying to save your photo library.
Some recent changes may be lost. Make sure your hard disk has enough space and that iPhoto is able to access the iPhoto Library.
I have nearly 100gb space available and I'm not sure how to point iPhoto back to it's library. The library is still there, and the imported photos are in it if I 'Show Package Contents' but if I close iPhoto and reopen the event will be gone.
Also my account has read/write privileges to the iPhoto library.
Any thoughts?

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Notes in "Notes" automatically deleted. Now is not saving new, too.

There were 5 to 7 notes, very very important, saved in My 'Notes' Tab in iCloud menu. But now there is nothing, I didn't delete them nor did I edited them, but they just disappeared...!! Also no new notes are saving, it saving :
"Could Not Save Changes.
'Document Name' could not be saved. Please Try again Later'."
this is really irritating from my Love Apple....:( Can Anyone Please help me out...??

Did you make any backups of your iPad to iTunes ? So you could restore the previous versions?
Also, I could restore older apps from my TimeMachine backup. The backup of the iTunes Library included the apps.
If your backups do not go back in time far enough, try this:
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
Sometimes the AppStore will let you buy an older version, if your system is not compatible with the current one.

Address Book Notes for New Contacts Appear Only In Edit Mode

When I create a new contact in +Address Book+, exit Edit mode, and then add a Note to that new contact, the note is visible only when the contact is switched to Edit mode. This does not effect existing contacts. This problem first appeared yesterday. I didn't do anything unusual with +Address Book+ before the emergence of the problem.
I followed these instructions to rebuild the +Address Book+ database but it had no effect on this problem: "Quit Address Book and drag ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook-v22.abcddb to the desktop. It will be rebuilt from the details in Metadata when you restart AB."

I exported the contact list and deleted Library/Application support/Address book and then re-imported. Everything is fine now.

Help? 7373 not saving new words?

I'm not sure if I have only just noticed, or if it's just started, but my phone won't save new words (including my name which is tres annoying). Is there anyway to fix this?

wow - this just happened to me as well. Same machine MBP C2D, two weeks old. After working in iCal for an hour, adding tons of entries, I close the app. Open up 10 minutes later and everything since the Nov 21 is gone. I do not sync at all. I just use this machine.
So I re-entered some data (like accepting invites, create a few events) and I back up the database. I close and reopen and suddenly they are gone again! I try to reload the just saved database and it says that what I am looking at is unchanged.
I cannot figure out what has happened... I have checked out the cache files and files in Application Support, but don't really see much that I can do anything about.
