Adressbook pictures in Mail

Hi all!
I have added couple of pictures to my address book entries. I like them to be displayed in Mail.
But if I print an eMail, I'd rather haven't the picture on the print out.
Any idea how to have both? Or do I have to delete all pics from Address book again??
Thanxs
Holger

I don't think you can control it.

Does anything happen?
Have you deleted the iPhoto Preference file - A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help

• Resolution/Size of Pictures in Mail

Hi! I am a new Mac user, so if this question has been answered before or appears "dumb" please excuse the learning curve from a former PC owner.
I was wondering if anyone knew what resolution/picture size mail uses when you attach a picture to an outgoing email. When I use mail and change the picture size in the lower right hand corner, what size does mail change the picture to? For example, is medium 640 x 480?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi.
The Sizes are:
Large 1290x960
Medium 640x480
Small 320x240
If the size of the picture you attach is in between of any of those sizes, the larger one (or ones) will be dimmed.
Also, if you email a picture from iPhoto, you have one more option: full size (the size your camera suports).
Good Luck.

• HT4519 how do i get my server email to send pictures. Email works without pictures, but when attaching a picture the mail will not send

Email works without pictures, but when attaching a picture the mail will not send

Hi,
In Mail > Preferences > Accounts to can find out which STMP server you are using for outgoing items.
This can be one account.
I do this with a dial Up account I still have access to.
I can "fetch" mail over DSL and now Fibre.
However I have to be Logged in via Dial up to actually use their Servers to Send.
As a Consequence I "send" via one of the other Accounts STMP servers. (I tend to add a signature that reflects this account change)
The other thing that might explain what you are seeing is the Full Name Box.

• Cannot send RAW Pictures per Mail

I loaded several RAW Pictures from my Canon 5D M II at my iPad. Then I tried to send a picture via Mail to a friend. The picture program freezed a while and the iPad switched to the front desktop without sending the mail. I tried it with other pictures without a success.
Has anybody the same foult?

Those raw files are too large for email. Most email providers have a 10 mb limit. The files from your camera are much larger. To transer large files you can use an ftp server (Goodreader is a great app that handles large files and connects to ftp servers and much more).

• HT4623 After updating received pictures by mail are not loading

After updating to iOS 7.1 when I received pictures by mail, they are not loading or loading not correctly!!!

Hello Serge_luka,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with the Mail application on your iPad.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching all the applications on your iPad:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Force an app to close

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting all the apps, I recommend the following steps:
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

Hi Kurt,
According to your description, my understanding is that the profile picture didn’t show on Newsfeed page and About me page in SharePoint 2013.
Firstly , let’s verify the followings:
Whether this issue occurred for all users.
Please go to About me page, and edit the profile, check whether the profile picture appears.
If the profile picture doesn’t appear when you edit the user profile, please upload a picture into the Picture section, and save the user profile, then compare the result.
In addition, please go to Central Administration->Application Management->Manage service applications->User Profile service application, start a full user profile sync.
I hope this helps.

• Bug report for picture attachment - mail for exch...

Mail for exchange is a great email software ,I denpend on it very much .
Recently , I found there was a big problem in some situation :
When a mail content was pasted a lot of pictures(not attached with files),It was opened very slowly,I alomst could't bear it.
I gusee the program spent too much time to analyzed the mail content and extract the pictures content as some attachments.
I think the program team should find the better methods to improve the efficency of the content analysis observably.
looking forward the reply,thankds.

It seems half of this has been answered with Leopard. If you try to use cmd-w to close the spell check window, it will still close the piece of mail you're composing. Shift-cmd-; will toggle the window. That's good enough for now

• I can no longer send picture e-mails from my ipod. Why?

I use to be able to send pictures from the Photos app to my e-mail. Now when I try & send them, I never get them. I also tried sending them to the Facebook mail, but again- never get them. No error message pops up on my ipod. Any suggestions?

Oh my goodness! Thank you sooo much! This worked. I can now stop sending the business e-mails from my personal account - ha ha. Since you helped me with this, maybe you can help me with one more thing. I haven't been able to attach to e-mails in this account for quite awhile now, just been using a jump drive, since a previous automatic update. I didn't obsess over it due to the fact that I could still send e-mails. Any more help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
By the way, you also put it in terms I could understand. I'm not computer illiterate, just not as up to date as I should be. Step-by-steps help alot! :D

• Alignment of embedded pictures in Mail

I am trying to figure out how to have control over the alignment of photos that are attach/embedded into an email I send out. Aside from the issue of whether the photo is "attached" or "embedded"; when I look at the email, and choose to insert a photo that is of vertical orientation - I would like it to appear that way in Mail, rather than have it turned onto it's side to conform to the typical landscape orientation.
I'm currently running OS 10.5.6 on my Macbook. I do not use iPhoto (and will never again - but that's a story for another forum); I use adobe bridge or even simply Finder to select the pictures. Lastly, when I do open the photo from either Adobe Bridge, Elements, Photoshop; or from Finder into Preview, the photos in question do appear at the correct orientation. It is that Mail changes them.
Thank-you so very much to anyone who has any idea, or perhaps wishes to commiserate with me!!

Thank you both for your suggestions, I looked at the meta data information like you suggested, and the orientation is correct. 0 - for horizontal, and 1 - for vertical.
Ernie - I'll look into the camera details, because now that I think of it the problem has been new since the new camera. I have a Nikon DSLR, and I haven't ever done anything with respect to an orientation tag. However, given that the file data is correct as stated above, I'm wondering it it isn't a "communications" problem between Adobe and Mail.
Playing around yesterday this is what I learned further: If I open a vertical picture in Preview (it is correct) but when I move it to mail it turns, so I"m not sure how that fits-in or contradicts with the advice that Mail uses Preview to render the attached images - indeed this may show that Mail is not properly communicating with other programs.
Also, I went into Photoshop, rotated the picture 90 degrees, saved it, rotated it back to the original, saved it. And wouldn't you believe it, Mail attaches it correctly.
Also, if I do any alternations in photoshop, then import into iPhoto, then transfer from iPhoto to Mail, the picture is correct.
But if I do the alterations from iPhoto I've only got a 50/50 chance of seeing the picture correctly in any other program. I've heard this complaint numerous times about iPhoto being "tricky" with respect to altered photos remaining altered when brought into other programs.
(as an aside this is why I left iPhoto, was because I had touched up 150 photos, had them developed, but about 60% of the photos came back to me in their original state despite appearing correctly altered on my computer - this has happened twice in a row, and it's not necessarily the same pictures that are mistaken each time. I repeated all the alterations in Photoshop, and have had 100% success)
So while the latter experiments can serve as a "bandaid" solution for the emailing, it is cumbersome and not ideal.

• How do I send pictures in mail

When I write an e-mail, how do I attach pictures from iphoto? I have clicked on attachment and then clicked on pictures but I don't see where I can choose the picture/s that I want to send. Also, when ever I send mail, I get a noise ( sounds like the spell check alert) right after I click send. This seems to be new, at least I don't remember hearing it before. I know the spelling is correct within the mail so I don't know whats causing this sound, any advise? Thanks for all your help.

One other alternative is to simply drag and drop a photo from within iPhoto onto the body of the email message you are composing. I find that much easier than digging through the arcane directory tree that iPhoto creates in the Finder.
Yet another method is to open iPhoto first and drag/drop the photo onto the Mail icon in the Dock. That will create a new outgoing message with the photo attached.

• Applescript: enclosing a picture in Mail so it is in the body of the text

have a script on my server that sends mails using The Mail (Apple) Programme.
It encloses a picture situated on the desktop (the script is larger, where it generates the picture and trashes it afterwards).
Now the picture arrives as an enclosure and I would like it to appear at the end of the text (in other words in the body of the text not as an enclosure). How do I amend the script I have? I have no idea as to how to do this or where to begin. any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
The script is the following at present:
set dFolder to "/Users/XYZ/Desktop/"
tell application "Finder" to try
set tFiles to ((every file whose name contains "NameofPNG")) as alias list
on error
set tFiles to ((every file whose name contains "NameofPNG")) as alias as list
end try
set docfolderpath to path to desktop folder as string
set yourfolder to "~/Desktop/" --------- the folder with the documents
set pathtoyourfolder to docfolderpath & yourfolder & ":" as string
set FNDVAR to "NameofPNG" --------"FIND" variable for the files
set ppath to quoted form of POSIX path of pathtoyourfolder
set theSender to "[email protected]"
set thercpnt to "[email protected]"
set theFiles to (do shell script "mdfind -onlyin " & "~/Desktop/" & " 'kMDItemDisplayName == \"*" & FNDVAR & "*\"'") ------seems to be faster than finder
set theattachmentspaths to {} ------preparing list for attachment paths
repeat with x from 1 to the count of paragraphs in theFiles
set theF to alias POSIX file (paragraph x of theFiles)
set end of theattachmentspaths to theF
end repeat
tell application "Finder"
set theSubject to short date string of (current date) & (" XYZ")
set theBody to "XYZ"
tell application "Mail"
delay 2
set newMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {address:thercpnt, subject:theSubject, content:theBody & return & return}
tell newMessage
set visible to true
set sender to theSender
make new to recipient at beginning of to recipients with properties {address:thercpnt}
repeat with y from 1 to count of items in theattachmentspaths
delay 2
set theAttachment to item y in theattachmentspaths
tell content
make new attachment with properties {file name:theAttachment} at after the last paragraph
end tell
delay 2
end repeat
end tell
delay 2
send newMessage
end tell
activate
end tell

Looks complicated. I looked at the source to an email with imbeded pictures.
The email contains multiple mime types.
Apple mail automatically imbeds the picture.
I your using someother email client, you need to create an html document with the pictures references.
example:

nt-family:'Tahoma','sans-serif'">7.=20
No, I do not know what this 3D is all about.
follow: [email protected]
ignore the fact that this is made into an email link.
which references another mime:
