Adressbook sequence of phone numbers / email addresses

Most of my contacts have e.g a home, work and mobile phone number. I would like to determine the order of theses, since whene I update one of them, the order changes quite often.
Same with emails: if it changes and the contact is in a group, and if I send an email to that group, a wrong emial address is usually being picked.
Anyone has a hint how to trick Addressbook to do that?

Deleting the account on your phone only removes if from your phone. The account and it's data remain intact and doing so will not effect your daughter's phone.
To do this, first go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn any synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the phone. When finished, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Then set up a new iCloud account with a different Apple ID and turn any data you want to sync with iCloud (contact, calendars, etc.) back to On. This will upload your data to your new iCloud account.

Yes, I removed iCloud add-on from Outlook; and uninstalled iCloud. I then re-installed, and sync would not work (no tab for sync in Outlook either). There was no improvement.
However, since reading your post, I have just tried signing out of icloud control panel and signing in again....and now all si working as it should. Weird!!

Can you customize your phone's email address?

I am a returning Verizon Wireless customer and am happy to be onboard. I was able to successfully email my phone using [email protected] to send messages to my phone and it works great. Does Verizon support alternate email addresses? like "[email protected]" or similar? Thanks

Great question, ChipChairman! We certainly want you to be able to easily manage your account. When logging into http://www.vtext.com you will then click the Menu button(three horizontal lines) at the top right of the Verizon Messages text box. Click Steeings then "Email to Text" and choose "Edit" for "CREATE AN EMAIL ADDRESS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR NUMBER". From there just enter your desired username to go along with the @vtext.com domain. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Is it possible to see my phone numbers and addresses that I backed up in the blackberry desktop manager

I know it may be a silly question -- but I finally was able to download the blackberry desktop manager and then back up all the data from my blackberry to my computer via the desktop manager. For my peace of mind, I would like to see some of this data (addresses and phone numbers) just to insure that I did the back up correctly. Is this possible?

The file that contains the backup data is designed as proprietery to the Backup/Restore process. It is not designed to be read independently. There are some third party readers, can't recall the names (Amber-something-or-other?), but if you search for an application that can read an IPD file, you might find what you are looking for.

Phone numbers in address book

I would like to type (in address book) phone numbers like I want.
I mean with blocks of 3 or 4 figures, like 32 987 675 4378 (easy to read)
and not like example 32 9876754378 ( Not easy to read)

I presume by "Address Book" you mean the Address Book application bundled with Mac OS X, not an "address book" within some other contact-management application.
2. For more clues, examine any differences can you identify between the entries it finds and the entries it does not find that you expect it to find.
3. As a tip, you can restrict a search in the Spotlight icon to just Contacts, i.e. Address Book entries by adding
kind:contact
after your search terms. For example typing
914 kind:contact
into the search field of the Spotlight icon returns only entries from Address Book matching 914, e.g. area code 914, or an address containing 914, e.g. 914 Main Street.

How do i Email a Short Video From Imovie to a Cell Phone or Email address?

Your basic issue is that most email accounts will not let you send attachments greater than 10 to 20 MB, so your goal is to create a movie of less than that size. You may well know your own ISP's restrictions but you are probably unaware of your recipients ISP's restrictions, so you may need to aim at around 5 MB to be on the safe side.
It really depends on the length of your movie as to how small you can make it with various settings, but you might want to try exporting it to 3GPP format.
I usually upload video to an online storage site, (I use my idisk, but you tube is free) and then email the link to the recipient instead of the video itself.

Email showing Phone Numbers and Address for a Split Second then Disappears

Hello - I have the I-Phone 4 and am having difficulty with receiving all parts of emails for my business. On incoming emails I am able to see the numbers for only a split second before they disappear. However, if I click on where the number should be (as the screen is white in that area), it will ask if I would like to call the number.
Any ideas for fixing this issue?

Yes, I understand that. But The screen issue is not a result of user damage. The phone was not dropped when the screen got cracked. My daughter was standing in a chair at the table and dropped one of her toys onto the bottom of the phone and cracked it right by the home button. (Nowhere near the LCD/digitizer flex cables, connections, or logic board components) then a few months later my phone had died, I plugged it in, it showed it was charging, then Apple logo disappeared and screen didn't work. AFTER contacting Apple about the issue and them telling me that it "is a result of the very minimal crack to the sheet of glass that has no relation to the LCD or Digitizer and that the warranty does not cover it I had taken it upon myself to change the LCD/digitizer to no avail, as well as backlight ic and backlight coil to no avail. But how do I go about letting Apple know that it is in fact NOT due to the cracked screen nor is it due to the flex cable connections? I can't. So the lady that works the call center phones trying to "convince" me that she knows what she is talking about and "convince" me that it is from the cracked screen I have to take her word because I can't show Apple that its not because of that without paying them $199 to fix the screen in which case they will just send me a new phone rather than fix the faulty hardware under warranty.

Wildcard Phone Numbers in Address Book?

Hello. I recently switched to my personal iPhone for work use, and as an IT manager I'm in a role where I get SMS pages as applicable. I'm not sure what's under the covers, but the texts come through to me so far (it's been less than a week) in the range of 1 (410) 000-001 through -022. I assumed it would stop at -010 or -020, but I'm quickly coming to the realization that this could go all the way through -999, and then possibly even the prefix digits could be variable. Anyway, I created an Address Book entry where I was hoping to capture these texts so they aren't scattered among my Messages app as these random numbers, as well as assign them a different tone so I know it's a work page vs. personal, and every time a new number comes through I add it, hoping maybe that's the last one. But I'm starting to lose hope.
So instead of manually entering all these numbers into my Address Book entry, is there a way to enter a wildcard, where I could just put 1 (410) 000-*** or some such and capture this range of numbers?
I'm guessing no since this is a fairly specific need/application, but as we all know Apple can be pretty savvy, so thought I'd ask if this was an option or if anyone else had any other bright ideas for trying to capture these texts so I know they're work related.
As an aside, I've seen some of these numbers before from friends who used free texting apps, so it's not 100% fool proof, but these days I think I can be fairly confident a vast majority of texts coming through like this will be work.

Not sure what you mean by "folders", but the solution should be the same for you. The only way to get a unique ringtone or vibration for something is to create it as a contact, with the email or phone number from which the contact is coming. If you can, you need to update how *they're* getting a hold of *you* with <mynumber>@mms.att.net vs. anything else (or the solution from Jeffrey Doyle may work, too), then it will be captured as a single destination vs. how it's coming in for you today. This will group the texts by that contact and allow you to assign the unique ringtone/vibration.
In other words, you are having the exact same problem some of the others of us were. No "twist" that I can see.

Why doesn't my "Numbers" email address file cut and Paste to an Outlook Email?

I used to be able to cut and paste an email file from Numbers into an address for an Outlook email message. Now , the cut and paste truncates the addresses. The operation works but not in the Outlook address space. Help!

bought an new computer, but I don't have any of this information stored in it.
My question is, how can I sync my iphone with to my PC without erasing the info in the iphone. I don't want my system
to think that since the PC is empty it should erase every contact in the iphone. I just want to transfer everything
from iphone and have a copy on PC,especially the contacts.

Maybe you should go Discussion-Apple to look for what is iTunes user directions about how to backup your iphone.
Other than there are also a tool called Contacts Tool search iphone applications,and it will help u a lot if u want to transfer the contacts to computer.Like Out2003 or Outlook2007...

How to make Clickable Phone Numbers in PDFs

Hello,
I am creating Word Documents and converting them to PDFs. We put contact information in them such as names, phone numbers, email address.
I have already got email address to work, with the hyperlinks and that converts fine to PDFs, but I am having problem with phone numbers.
I have gone to hte hyperline and in the address typed tel:+0000000000 (of course switching out numbers), but it always attaches to a document path. When I try to click on it in a PDF, nothing happens, but it shows clickable. Mainly want this for people with smart phones to dial the number.
The whole concept works in Word on a smart phone, but we lose design and pages. That is why converting to PDFs.
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

The only similar thing I've encountered are hyperlinks on top of a phone number that launch Skype and attempt to call that number. In fact, I've even developed a script that automatically converts plain phone-numbers in a PDF to such links, but you have to have Acrobat to run it...

Each of you need to have your own apple id's instead of sharing is the best way. But you can go to each phones settings, messages, send and recieve, and down to start new conversation from, and make sure each of you have your own email address with a check mark beside of it not the same address.

Managing multiple email addresses for the same contact

Hi
I have set up a group so I can email multiple people at once using the usual method. However, when I put the 'xx group' in the Bcc, it mails them fine, but where I have more than one address for the contact, it picks one without asking me.
How do I set it so it always chooses a certain (main) address? For one, it sent it one of two addresses I had listed as 'home', on another it sent it to an address I had listed as 'work'.
They also appeared in different positions on the card, e.g. it is not sending tit to the first one it sees on the card.
Any thoughts?

found the answer somewhere else:
When sending a message to a Group and a Group member (or members) has multiple email addresses, the following was copied from Address Book Help.
Choose Edit > Edit Distribution List.
Select the group whose addresses you want to manage.
Click the pop-up menu (column header) to choose which type of information you want to manage—phone number, email address, or street address.
Select the address or phone number you want to use for each member with multiple addresses or phone numbers.
