This is what i have done:
Client:
Installed Adobe Reader 7.0.5
Installed xACF SP 14
Enabled Active X
Server
Installed ADS additionally to the 6.40 SP 13
Created ADSUser and ADSGroup, and tested that it works in the Config Test
Enabled Basic Authentification
Im not using any credentials or java crypt toolkit, or published ADS to SLD (ADS and Dynpro runtime on same J2EE engines)
Can someplease please help me out? I have checked the other topics on the forum, but none that has really helped me out..
Hello Engh,
The http response code 401 indicates that you've got an authorization problem.
So, just check if you've installed the credentials and configured the basic authentication for the ADS?
For a detailed explanation, take a look at

Adobe Print Form Error - Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized
Hi, I've just configured ADS on Netweaver 2004s. I've run through the config guide and everything works ok including the form generation test report FP_TEST_00 which outputs PDF without issue. I have two problems:
-When I run a "test connection" on the RFC destination 'ADS' using the ADSUSER for the login details, I get a 403 not authorized error. Changing this user to J2EE_ADMIN resolves the issue and I get a 302 redirect. I've tried adding other permissions to the ADSUSER without any luck.
-Running a report on the Portal under e.g. Executive Reporting and attempting to just right-click and hit "Print Version" results in a 401 error for request "http://hostXX:portXX/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document" exactly as per this thread: Re: Adobe Form Creation Error - Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. However, I've double-checked all user details in Visual Administrator (ADS_AGENT) and on the ABAP stack side in su01 and sm59. I also tried changing the users to dialog with no effect. If I go directly to that URL and log in with ADSUSER I get a 403 not authorised error (using J2EE_ADMIN is again successful). I've noticed that in the http access log the HTTP protocol used is 1.1 when using the web browser and 1.0 when using the sm59 connection test. I've heard of problems with using HTTP/1.1, but when I change the options on IE8 to use HTTP/1.0, it changes for all other requests except the request for "http://hostXX:portXX/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document", which is still submitted as HTTP/1.1. Conversely, in sm59 if I specify that it should use HTTP/1.1 under Special Options, I can see from the access log that it is in fact still using HTTP/1.0. Could this be related to the 401 error code that I'm seeing?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
JohnI think I've ruled out the HTTP protocol version as being an issue here. However I may have found more useful information on the actual issue.
In the security log under usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\system I see a different message for the unsuccessful report PDF generation attempt to that of a direct query to the same URL with the same web browser, as below. The unsuccessful attempt appears to forget the ADSUSER credentials and resort to the default J2EE_GUEST which has no authorisations and therefore fails. The direct query doesn't lose the ADSUSER credentials and I think this is because it prompts for the user/password when needed. Does anyone know why this happens for a direct query to this URL but not for the PDF generation attempt?

When trying to run an Adobe Form webdynpro app, I am receiving the following error:
<b>Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://localhost:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document"</b>
I have checked the ADS test at <server:port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config; the test did return the version number.
<i><b>Does anyone have any other ideas of what I should check?</b></i>
Also, why is it running a url with "localhost" in it? If this is running on the java was server, then I guess that could make sense. But if the url request is requesting something from localhost, isn't that my computer? I guess it depends on if this is a server request or a client request. I hope this is a server request.Sumit -
First, I think config is okay. I can run the web service under my id okay.
Second, I am not sure what the impact is having the build done locally.
I am building and deploying locally in NWDS to my local portal. But then I am sending the EAR file to the system admin to deploy to my dev server (I am doing this because they will not give out the SDM password. And, I am waiting on the NWDI setup to be complete; when that is complete I will let NWDI deploy to the dev portal.)
Incidentally, I am receiving this error on the dev server, not my local portal. (I have tried running on my local portal, but I am getting a socket timeout error. But this is interesting, because I <i>can</i> run other webdynpro non-Adobe apps. I am not tracking down this error at this point because I am really just interested in the dev server. If I get past the 401 error on the dev server, and then get the socket timout issue...then I will worry about it.) -
SSLCertificateException: InvalidResponseCodeException (401) Unauthorized
Hi all
I am working on a scenario that involves digital signatures in interactive forms.
I have followed this[ link |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/90/71d273fa724cc9bb644ab00405e6f8/frameset.htm] to do Adobe Document Services Configurations.
I have also followed this [document|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/964f67ec-0701-0010-bd88-f995abf4e1fc] to enable SSL and client certificates on J2EE engine.
After doing all the configurations, when I run and test a simple form application done in WDJ containing digital signature field, I am getting the following exception:
*com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"https://localhost:50001/AdobeDocumentServicesSec/Config?style=document" *
I have done configurations for ADSuser.
I seek your expert opinion/help/suggestions to rectify this problem.
Thanks and regards
Kapil

Edited by: Kapil Kamble on Mar 30, 2009 10:58 AMHi all,
We also followed guide from Angel Dichev on Securing Adobe Interactive Forms by SAP, but were NOT able to solve this error. Error is almost the same, with difference in web service address - we receive error with FQDN in web service address not localhost as original error.
Am i missing something in this webinar? We want to edit MSS PCR (Personell Change Request) form when this error is triggered. Our system landscape consists of two - ECC ABAP and EP (with ADS installed) server.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Uros

Thank you,
SrinivasI had a similar problem with authorization failed for the ADSuser. My problem however only occurs at night when the system is the least used.
We have changed two things which I believed have now solved the problem.
1. Make sure all j2ee servers in the cluster uses localhost for the web service destination. Our system was configured to use the central instace forcing all request to a single server.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/4f/a00d41921bf023e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
2. Check maximum number of users in VA. Ours was set to only 300 due to some earlier performance problems. Default is unlimited I believe, so it shouldn't be a problem normally. (Global configuration -> Server -> Security provider-> "MaxUsersCount")
My conclusion is that we ran out of login sessions during night time for some unknown reason, causing a authorization failed exception on the app servers.
Plausible?

401:Unauthorized error while consuming a MOSS web service
Hi, We are trying to cosume a Web Service from MOSS using Spring and Axis. The WSDL requires user name and password. We are passing the right credentials however we are getting the 401 error. The exact exception is provided below. Could any one advise how this can be resolved?
java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '401: Unauthorized' for url: 'https://ts2amr.accenture.com/_vti_bin/Search.asmx?wsdl'.
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'spWSClient' defined in ServletContext resource [WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml]: Cannot resolve reference to bean 'spWebService' while setting bean property 'service'; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'spWebService' defined in ServletContext resource [WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.remoting.RemoteLookupFailureException: Failed to initialize service for JAX-RPC port [{urn:Microsoft.Search}QueryServiceSoap]; nested exception is javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException: Error processing WSDL document:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '401: Unauthorized' for url: 'https://ts2amr.accenture.com/_vti_bin/Search.asmx?wsdl'I can't speak for MOSS for sure, but other Microsoft services such as MapPoint used to require Digest Authentication, which isn't quite as pervasive as Basic Authentication. You should doublecheck with the MOSS administrator about the proper credentials and access. You might even try a utility like SoapUI to see if things work from a test client before trying it on the application server.

Error 401--Unauthorized when deployed on WL Managed server (10.3.3)
Hi,
I created & started a WL-Managed server on my window desktop machine. I deployed to this Managed server, an application which is running without problem on Admin Server. (The managed server is created in the same Domain as that of Admin Server)
However, when I log on to the application on Managed server & enter the UID & PW I get the Error 401--Unauthorized page. The same security works perfectly well for Admin Server.
Any clues what could be going wrong.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I'm attempting to get a SharePoint 2013 Provider Hosted Application working in a brand new SharePoint environment. I've created snapshots of both my dev and the sharepoint environments along the way and have meticulously documented every step of the
way. I've followed these instructions (among many other resources found along this journey) :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp179923(office.15).aspx
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp161236(office.15).aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/office/fp179901%28v=office.15%29
Upon package and publish of my application to SharePoint, I get a 401 Unauthorized error. I use Fiddler to obtain the SPErrorCorrelationID to ultimately obtain the following ULS Viewer Output. Please explain how to fix if you're able.
Please Note: I was under the impression that a Provider Hosted Application does not use the Azure Access Control service, so I'm confused as to why my system is attempting to make this connection?
Also Note: I've used a self signed and godday obtained certificate to successfully f5 debug my basic web.title (out of the visual studio 2012 box) sharepoint provider hosted application... so I know my certs are good.
Here's my ULS output:

Your help is very much appreciated.
With Respect,
LarryYes, actually - I was able to resolve it.
However I don't know how, unfortunately. I suspect it was because I needed to have the names of the certificates, defined during the certificate registration (to sharepoint) process, different.
I have a complete document that shows step by step instructions on the exact process I took to complete the provider hosted application creation, deployment and publishing. It was a daunting task, but I finished it successfully.
If there's a way to send private message on this forum, please do so and I'll respond with a way to obtain my document.
NOTE: I'm not all impressed with the way this forum works. This is supposed to be a Microsoft resource and I'll be damned if I ever get a response to highly technical questions. Completely lame. Boooooo Microsoft. -
SSRS report with PowerPivot datasource - 401 Unauthorized
Hello together,
I have a tricky issue and hope that you can help me:
Problem: I want to build a Reporting Services Report with a PowerPivot datasource with Report Builder 3.0. When I try to access the datasource via Report Builder I get the error: The remote server returned an error: 401 - Unauthorized.
The PowerPivot file lies on a Sharepoint 2013 with Kerberos authentification.
Logs: Here are some sample log entries after getting the error:
Token Cache: Could not find SPSite for 'sharepoint.com/_vti_bin/PowerPivot/secureredirector.svc/?DataSource=sample.xlsx'.
Exception trying get context compatibility level: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The site sharepoint.com/_vti_bin/PowerPivot/secureredirector.svc/?DataSource=sample.xlsx could not be found in the Web application SPWebApplication Name=sharepoint.com.
Non-OAuth request. IsAuthenticated=True, UserIdentityName=0#.w|user, ClaimsCount=118
Notes: I tried some solutions from the internet, where the web.config from PowerPivot has to be changed. Also I saw that it could be Kerberos related, but no detailed information where to start as the other features are working fine. SPNs
and Delegations are configured. And changing to NTLM is not an option as this is a multi-server platform.
I hope that you have another idea, where the problem could be.
Kind regards,
RobinHas noone an idea?

The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized
We are attempting to upload a file to SharePoint on Office 365 and get the following error:
The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.
We also tried using NetworkCredentials and that got the following error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
The code is shown below.
Any idea on to fix this error?
public
void uploadDocument(string
siteurl, string username,
SecureString securepassword,
string domain,
string filestreamPath =
"NewDocument.docx",
string serverRelativeUrl =
"/Shared Documents/NewDocument.docx")
ClientContext context =
new
ClientContext(siteurl);
//context.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(username, securepassword, domain);
context.Credentials = new
SharePointOnlineCredentials(username, securepassword);
using (FileStream
fileStream =
new
FileStream(filestreamPath,
FileMode.Open))
ClientOM.File.SaveBinaryDirect(context,
serverRelativeUrl, fileStream, true);Yes, it has access. In fact, it has no problem getting the site properties using the code below. It is just when I am uploading a file that the error occurs.
public Web getProperties(string
siteurl, string username,
SecureString securepassword)
Web web = null;
// Starting with ClientContext, the constructor requires a URL to the
// server running SharePoint.
ClientContext context = new ClientContext(siteurl);
// The SharePoint web at the URL.
web = context.Web;
// We want to retrieve the web's properties.
context.Load(web);
// Execute the query to the server.
context.Credentials = new SharePointOnlineCredentials(username, securepassword);
context.ExecuteQuery();
return web; -
401 Unauthorized:HTTP transport error while calling external WSDL from BPEL
Hi,
I have simple BPEL process whic calls siebel WSDL file through partner link.
I have successfully compiled and deployed BPEL process, when i initiate the Process, instace got errored out at invoke activity.
Error Goes like this
"<remoteFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension"><part name="summary"><summary>
exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException:
java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Bad response: 401 Unauthorized</summary>
</part></remoteFault>"
Can anybody help on this issue, Could you please give me possible solution.
Thank youl.we have not provided any authentication credentials to XMLSpy, we have just uploaded siebel WSDL file then sent the SOAP request with some customer Id then we have received proper response with all desired customer data.
In the same way we tried to call same siebel WSDL file from BPEL process throgh partner link. errored instance has created with 401 unauthorised HTTP transport error..
Do you think is this probem at siebel application side?
We have deployed our BPEL process to SOA server which is having HTTP port 7777.
as per my investigation,i found that we have to open port from siebel side (which WSDL file we are calling) which matches with above HTTP port number.
Do you have any idea on this above clue? Please let us know more details on this. -

Hi All,

Is it system or browser issue ? Please let me know.
Soumya DasHello Soumya Das,
Sounds like a system issue, can you check your ULS logs if you see some more information on the HTTP 401 Unauthorized?
Btw, have you also checked the Reporting Services configuration. Maybe this article can help:

I have access to sharepoint site and I have tested this by manually creating the lists and announcements in the sharepoint site.
now the same thing when I try to do it through the c#.net code it always gives me the following :
"An unhandled exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in
Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.dll Additional information: The remote server returned an error:
(401) Unauthorized."
My code looks like below:
string userName = "[email protected]";
SecureString password = new SecureString();
foreach (char c in "abc123".ToCharArray()) password.AppendChar(c);
using (var context = new ClientContext("https://sharepoint.partners.extranet.adlabs.com/sites/UniTest"))
context.Credentials = new SharePointOnlineCredentials(userName, password);
context.Load(context.Web, w => w.Title);
context.ExecuteQuery();
