Ads after every song

I'm just using the free version right now, but lately I've been hit with an ad after every single song. It's disruptive and excessive, and it's never been this bad before. I'm used to an ad every 5-6 songs. Since I'm not paying for the service right now I have no right to complain, I just want to know if this is the experience that I'm supposed to get, or if there's some sort of bug going on. If free users really get an ad per song like this now, I'm going to have to switch to another service. Thanks for any insight.

I literally just found myself experiencing the same issue and decided to ping the webz to see if it was just me being paranoid. This is driving me completely nuts - all of a sudden, I'm hearing WAY more ads and commercials than I ever have. I've been using Spotify for a couple of years now, and was even a previous pro user who downgraded to the free version. Having experienced both the commercial-free, as purposefully downgrading to the the "non-pro" WITH commercials, I didn't feel it was right to complain. That said, the amount of commercials I'm getting hit with is aboslutely rediculous. It used to be that I could at least get 5 or 6 songs of a playlist finished before I'd be hit with a commercial or advertisement, but now I can't get through a 6-song playlist without getting 3-5 commercials/ads after each two songs. And they're the same frickin' commericals making me turn my sound down. I can honestly say that, if this is how it's going to be, I'll simply keep turning it down and turning it down until I find an alternate service. And, quite honestly, I know of at least 2 I can go to immediately but thave yet to migrate over because of the extensive playlists I've compiled during my time with Spotify and I really haven't wanted to take the time it would take to get it all setup elsewhere. Again, I'm a long time and devoted follower and I'd rather not move away from Spotify, but I defintiely will if this is what I should be expecting. I've yet to see this issue really addressed, and just wondering if I need to start migrating...

  • Speakers return to default volume after every song

    Hello,
I just bought a new Toshiba laptop yesterday, and it is equipped with Windows 8.  I have Pandora running on it currently, and whenever a new song begins, the speakers return to some default volume which is too loud for my office.  How do I get
the volume to stay at the level I set it at, even when a new song plays?

I play Pandora all the time in IE11 on Windows 8.1 (right now, in fact).  It doesn't return to default volume after every song here.  I doubt that Pandora's web programming is causing it, at least not directly, or everyone would be seeing
it.  You should not expect it to do so.
Edit:  I play it via the Desktop IE11.  I didn't think to mention it.  Is that how you're running it, or are you using the Metro / Modern interface?  Try it on the desktop if that's not where you're running it and see if the
behavior is different.  Perhaps it's just another problem with the toy interface.

  • ITunes stops after every song

Hey there, sorry for the potential stupid question. I've been using iTunes for a long time now, but I've never encountered this before. Basically, the title says it all. After every song, iTunes goes idle. This occurs in playlists, the library...everywhere. Maybe I checked something random without intending to, but I've looked around and can't figure it out. Any help would be more than, um, helpful. Thanks!

Welcome to Apple's user-to-user discussion forums.
Did you accidently uncheck all the tracks in your library? Are the boxes in front of all the titles unchecked? If so, place your cursor over one of the unchecked boxes and Command-Click. All of the boxes should turn blue and will now contain a checkmark. iTunes will stop if there are no checkmarked tunes to move to after the currently playing track.

  • My iPod touch crashes to the home screen after every song.

I recently updated my iTunes and the first time I connected my iPod to iTunes it worked fine.
I connected my iPod for a second time last night and now it says it doesn't recognize the usb device and that another iPod with iOS was connected to this computer or something like that. Now it asks me if I want to restore it.
I didn't restore it, but since I've then, my iPod crashes to the home screen after each and every song.
It plays one song, starts another, and crashes.

I just got my airport express, and it has worked perfectly the past few days, now all of a sudden when a song ends, i have to manually skip songs and it will go 'connecting to remote speakers' and start working again. Its a bit random, sometimes it will stop after 2 songs, but mostly after 1...
Hoping its just a simple setting?
    Thanks

  • Ipod video reboots after every song with Logitech mm50 speakers

Any idea why my ipod reboots after playing one song. It happens if I choose an album, a playlist or all songs. It doesn't matter if the speakers are fully charged and disconnected from the adaptor or plugged in to the AC. I've tried resetting the iPod many times, ordered a different set of speakers thinking they might have been defective. It doesn't happen when I'm using the headphones. I'm really stumped.

Logitech replied to my question with a solution that worked, just in case anyone else is having this problem. There's a tiny reset button on the bottom of the mm50s. Take the iPod out with the speakers powered off. Turn the speakers on and hit the reset with a paper clip. They will reset then put the iPod back in and hit the power only once and it should work fine. This also took care of a problem with a staticy, lispy sound they were making.

  • Making I-tunes stop after every song

How can I configure so that the next song doesn't play automatically?

You can do this by unchecking all the boxes next to each song. To uncheck all your songs, hold CTRL and click on any little box next to any song.

  • TS3274 My iPad plays a song and then stops; I press manually for next song, but it either plays same song, a different song that I pressed, or will play the next song, but keeps stopping after every song I play.  Help?

When I go to play songs the iTunes will play a song then stops (repeat all or one song is not on and also shuffle is not on); I manually click for next song an it wll ( play the next song and stops, it will play same song and then stops, or it will play a song randomly and then stops) .  Help!

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

I just deleted and restored iTunes because I had 4 or 5 of each song. After all that I STILL HAVE 4 or 5 of every song. HOW DO I FIX THIS? Or do I just stop using iTunes?

Since this a potentially drastic approach I will remind you that at this point you ought to have a complete backup of your library in case things get worse rather than better...
Select the Music source, select all (ctrl-a), delete, DO NOT SEND FILES TO THE TRASH!
Repeat with other media sources if you wish.
Import your media, get it organized, backup again.
I can recall if I've sent you in the direction of this information yet...
Here are the typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
In the layout above, with the media folder (everything in the red box) inside the library folder, the library is considered to be portable. A portable library can be moved from one path to another without breaking the links between the library and the media and being self-contained is much easier to backup
... but if you are going to start over I'd recommend you work with iTunes rather than fighting it. If you want your own folder structure for your media (I know I do, but generally recommend people don't because it is less hassle) then turn off the option under Edit > Preferences > Advanced to Keep the iTunes Media folder organized, but place your structure somewhere inside the iTunes media folder. That way you get the advantages mentioned above and are much less likely to create duplicates by accident again in future.

  • Playlist stops after every few songs

I have a playlist that stops playing after playing through four items in the list. I can start it anywhere in the list and sure enough, after playing four selections it stops. Here are some facts about the problem:
    - I have all the check-boxes checked.
    - Playlist length: 600 entries
    - Type: mp3 encoded snippets of Chinese language phrases.
    - File size: ranges from 12KB-18KB per mp3 (<= 1 second)
    - When it stops the progress bar is about at about 2/3, with the left side showing either 0:00 or 0:01 and the right side showing either -0:00 or -0:01 and the pause button is still showing (as though the selection was still playing)
    - It will start playing again if I hit the pause button twice (once to toggle it to pause and then to go back to play)
    - All the files play fine individually
    - Reducing the playlist size doesn't help
    - Moving the files to a new play list doesn't help
    - Deleting and re-adding the files doesn't help
The playlist plays all the way through on my iPod without stopping but maybe every 100 entries or so it will play the next 4-8 without any sound and then continue as normal.
I have over 8000 other mp3 language snippets just like these in other playlists but the files are bigger(from 20KB-60KB)and they play through the whole list just fine. If I put files from the offending list into one of the other lists the other list will often stop playing just after that song. I'm curious whether iTunes has a problem handling really small files because this problem was happening in all my playlists of this type until I sorted them into lists of different file sizes. Now only the list with the smallest files (<20KB) has the problem.
    Can anyone help?

They don't have a clue. I've called a few Apple stores because I have the same problem. Of course no one has heard of this type of problem but is seems fairly common.
