ADS application login time takes 2 minutes
Hi we have deployed 6 applications in one of our managed server and among the 6 applications is the ADS login application which connects to other application modules after loggin in.
We are using wls-10.3.3. We have given 2GB heap space to that managed server. We are using these applications in our Test environment.
When ever any single user trying to login in to the ADS login application in windows, it takes about 2 minutes to login and then home page of the application is displayed.
Please any one give suggestions on how to decrease the login time.
Hi Rene,
After giving the userid and password in ads login application and click login we see the browser connecting to the application and we get the message "http://pstest/psadslogin/faces/login/ldappsverify.jspx-Windows Internet Explorer" on the top of the white page and it is displayed for long time, where ps(project sundaram) is the name of our project. It is taking time in authentication and in verifying the ldap directory. The home page of the application is displayed after 2 minutes, some times 1 min,sometimes 30sec, sometimes less than 30 sec and in rare times it displays fast in 5 to 10 seconds. I am not understanding why it is taking long time to login. Suggest any parameters to be set in Weblogic server side.
Please suggest any ideas on this. We have deployed the applications in Oracle weblogic server 10.3.3, in linux server. And we are using Oracle 11gR2 database.
Thank you.

Mac OSX boot time - 1.5 mins : Login time - 1.5 minutes
Hi
I have a new Mac Book Pro 15 (6 months old), which I have been using pretty much intensely. I have noticed that the boot time have gone incredibly slow. The sound that appears while booting and teh apple logo used to come up at the same time, but now, it isn't like that. There is a 45 second lag between the two. As in, the sound comes up instantly as the power on button is hit and after 45 seconds the logo comes up. Then it takes another minute to boot - for the login screen to come up. Finally, when I login, it takes another 1.5 minutes for everything to come up. Skype ad growl are the only login items and it takes quite some time for it to come. Skype jumps almost 40 times before it starts on the dock.
What do you think is the problem. I use Onyx to clean my system and the system is updated. Disk repair tool also says that everything is ok.
Is re-installation the only way?

I 'm getting message "Mozila Firefox not responding." It takes minutes to down load a site - some times just gets in a loop and never down loads. The little circle at top just keeps going round in circles .
Then when I try to click on the screen again the screen goes opaque and I get the same message re " Mozilla Firefox not responding" - and it is minutes before I can get back in to close down screen.
I have downloaded Fire fox version 4 and this is still happening.See:

Hi Everybody,
I have a macbook(intel processor with mac os x 10.6.1) bought it last February, it was working perfectly fine, up until a few weeks ago, that it crashed. I had put it into sleep, after some time when i tried to login, it took too much time in verifying the password, i did a forced shutdown, but after restarting i couldn't login. I repaired with the OS X DVD. Since then my computer hasn't been like what it used to be. I thought maybe a reinstallation might solve the problem. I reinstalled it two weeks ago, it worked find for the first week, but after that it started taking time in every single process.
Now since last night the login time has increased(by login i mean, from the login window that i write my user/pass it takes more than one minute before its usable!). and also while doing something in finder or launching applications it freezes for some seconds! I tried repairing disk permissions/emptying caches (with Onyx) but the problem still persist.
Have anyone encountered such a problem? or can anyone atleast give me a clue what the cause might be?
Thankszap PRAM (restart hold option, command, P and R)

Slow system and application startup times
Hi,
I've got a 17" Macook Pro (Early 2011) 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 - ever since I bought it I feel like it runs a little slow.
I've been a long-time mac used but I feel a little disappointed with this machine.
e.g.: Startup time takes around 4 minutes.
Applications take around 10 seconds to start.
Chrome sometimes takes 5-10 seconds to start, about the same to quit.
My Xbench scores fluctuate wildly - best I've ever got is 220, worst is 18. 160 is about the average.
http://db.xbench.com/merge.xhtml?doc2=526647
http://db.xbench.com/merge.xhtml?doc2=537725
http://db.xbench.com/merge.xhtml?doc2=544252
I feel that tried everything including:
- Creating a new user
- Repairing disk permissions
- DIsk verify and repair
- Removing all startup items
- Installing extra ram (currently at 8GB)
It runs well most of the time but frustratingly slow sometimes and there doesn't seem to be any anomalous activity in activity monitor. I feel that it could be the hard disk, but don't know (I always have 250-350gb free).
Any help appreciated!Thanks for the link. I've never seen that page before but I have done everything in that list.
It's not a spinning beachball issue - the system doesn't lock-up often it just takes a **** long time to do some things. I didn't really realise it as a problem until I started using other people's older/lower spec'ed macs and noticed that they run FASTER than mine.
Activity monitor pics - just after a restart with my usual apps running:
CPU https://skitch.com/e-hellodaniel/83pq5/activity-monitor
Memory https://skitch.com/e-hellodaniel/83pq7/activity-monitor
Disk https://skitch.com/e-hellodaniel/83pxg/activity-monitor
Even using Skitch to take those screenshots took ages.
It's almost like the disk or CPU is throttled back or bottlenecked, and always has been... -
Long login times on solaris 10
I had this nested in another thread, pulling it out to be seen
easier I hope...
I have a solaris 10 install that has a very long login time.
If you telnet or ssh to the machine, you are prompted for the username
and then password, then the system takes 4-5 minutes
to get you into the system. (to a prompt)
We do not use NIS and the home directory is on the local
root disk, so I don't think it would be an issue of finding
the home dir.
Initially I saw this problem above, where I would get a username
prompt, then the many minute pause, then the password prompt.
Once I'm in past this point, I have no problems. I don't see any errors
in the logs either.
I initally thought it might be the pam.conf causing problems.
(was just doing ssh) but I've seen the same issue from telnet
and I've removed the one call in sshd_conf to pam that I
could find.how is the resolver working? Can you reverse-lookup IP addresses?
When you logon to the machine using ssh SSH will try and reverselookup your IP-address, if this doesn't succeed there will be a timeout of a few minutes.
So, try and run nslookup <an ip address> to test your resolver.
Also verify you resolv configuration:
grep ^hosts /etc/nsswitch.conf
cat /etc/resolv.conf

You can take a look at OSS Note :981638 (Dynamic forms are not supported in Web Dynpro ABAP)
Depending on which Support Package you are on, there has been issues with dynamic forms not being interactive. (i.e when you set the 'x' for interactive, you get a short dump)

You can try to query the out of the box WSS_Logging database and try to figure out the connection time from this data...

Limiting user login time with logoutd
Hi, I wish to limit the time a user uses his session, and I found that the "logoutd" daemon can accomplish this, however, I could't manage to find the syntax rules for configuring it, it uses the next config file:
/etc/porttime
Any Ideas?
=======================================================
Edit: I found out how to use it in the man page:
man porttime
pretty simple
========================================================
Hum, I did what the man page said adding a line for the /etc/porttime with the config I wanted, however I can still login, heres my conf:
*:loise:Al1900-2100
I want that the loise user can only login from 7PM to 9PM everyday, and that the rest of the users can login at anytime. What should I do?

Thank you for your response.
I am using Firefox version 2.0.0.20. When I add the security component into my ADF application, I just take whatever it has by default without any customization. That includes default login.html and error.html. Here is my experience,
1) Execute my starting task flow activity inside the JDeveloper. This will invoke a new login page in my default browser Firefox.
2) Login the application with user "abc" and do something. Keep this session open.
3) Open another Firefox browser and enter login URL. and then Login the application with user "xyz" (or even "abc"). I got the error page.
To me, it should be basic web application behavior. I can do things like this in other J2EE application. This one doesn't make sense at all. I am not sure if this is the behavior I would see when I deploy it to a standalone WLS.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hello
i have an application deployed on weblogic 11. after 30mins the application session times out.
1.how can increase this time.
2. can this be done in weblogic since on the application side there is no configuration for the time out.
please assist me
ThanksHello;
On middleware the default should be 3600 seconds.
To change :
Login to the WebLogic Administration Console
Under domain structure click Deployments
Click on the "em" Enterprise Application
Click on the Configuration Tab
Set "Session Timeout (in seconds):" to 7200 ( or whatever you want )
Hit the Save button to save your changes in the deployment plan
I would make sure an idle timeout in not set in the database profile as well.

Calculate End Time from a Start Time and Minutes Allocated
Hello,
I have a meeting form which needs to have the finish time calculated from a start time and allocated time (in minutes).
The allocated time is a text field with the default of "00:00". The user can then enter the number of minutes for the agenda item to take. eg 00:20 would be 20 minutes.
The start time is a date/time calculated field which shows the current time after the allocated time has been entered. The formcalc script is :
form1.ActionsHeaderFrame.ActionsStartTime.rawValue
= num2time(Time(), TimeFmt(1))
The Finish Time field is a calculated date/time field to add up the start time and allocated minutes.
The formcalc script is:
var Min1 = ActionsTime.rawValue
var Start1 = Time2Num(ActionsStartTime.formattedValue, "h:MM A")
form1.ActionsHeaderFrame.ActionsEndTime.rawValue = Min1 + Start1
The end time is showing as a number, and I need help in converting to a time.
An example is as follows:
If the text field for allocated time as 00:20 and the start time date field shows 4:23 PM the calculated End time field is showing 22980001.
Any advice or assistance with this script would be most appreciated.Thank you very much for your assistance.
I have changed the allocated time field (ActionsTime) to a binding time field.
In the End Time Field (ActionsEndTime) I have changed the formcalc function as follows:
var Min1 = Time2Num(ActionsTime.formattedValue, "HH:MM")
var Start1 = Time2Num(ActionsStartTime.formattedValue, "h:MM A")
$ = Num2Time((Start1 + Min1), "H:MM A")
The result with user input:
Allocated time field input of 00:10 which is equal to (10 minutes)
Start time field 10:41 AM
End time Field result shows 23:51 PM
Can you please advise where the formula needs to be revised to show the correct end time?
Thank you -
Very Slow VDI Client Login Time
Hi,
My environment contains two Hyper-V Servers for DCs, Connection Broker, RD-Web, and two Hyper-V servers as virtualization host to thin clients. All Hyper-V servers are only 35% utilized and all client VMs don't have a performance issue.
After setting up the roles and creating the "Personalized Pools", I open the RD-Web, click on the collection and here it takes a very long time in securing connection part, then a warning message appears for the connection broker self-signed certificate,
I accept it and again a very long time to open the VM.
After searching the internet I figured out that I should install "PFX" certificates for the connection broker (SSO, Publisher). In my environment, we don't use a public certificate from trusted root CAs, however, we have our own "Enterprise
Root CA".
I then figured that I should create a certificate with the following attributes:
Advanced Key Usage: Server Authentication, Client Authentication
Key Usage: Data encipherment, Digital Signature, Key Agreement
I created the certificate and imported it to the RD CB, however, the "securing connection" part was even slower than before, so I duplicated the "Computer" certificate, and configured 1024 bit certificate instead of the old one "2048".
The "securing connection" part is taking half the time now, however it is still very long "+60 seconds" to open the VM.
I still suspect that it is a certificate issue and not sure if I have done the correct certificate.
Would anyone help in this case and providing the correct steps to install a certificate for the RD CB from internal CA.
Thanks.Hi,

Spotlight crashing hundreds of times per minute
On my new 13" Retina MBP, spotlight is crashing hundreds of times per minute, resulting in more or less complete CPU use by the crash reporter.
The console logs are full of this:
4/4/14 7:08:27.925 PM mdworker[22407]: (Fatal) Worker: Uncaught exception: 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[__NSArrayM indexOfObjectWithOptions:passingTest:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x7fea98409680'

Spotlight restarts itself and crashes again faster than once per second. I have to turn it off with launchctl. Trying to open one of the crash report logs from Console.app crashes Console.app, so that's good too.
The issue seems to come and go. The machine will work for a while fine, then at some point I'll notice the fans have spun up. When I turn it back on later, sometimes it starts right back up, sometimes it works for a while.
Really frustrating! I want spotlight back. I can't find anything about this on google. Any pointers?Back up all data.
