Best Practice JP V2.600 of ADS prerequisites
HI.
I want to install the Best Practice JP V2.600,
but ADS prerequisites are required.
The guide said, as follows.
2.1.2.2 Adobe Document Services
You need to have the PSE certificates between J2EE and ABAP in your system installed and the configuration settings set u201Co "no logon requiredu201D.
I can't understand only this sentense in the guide...
Could you tell me how to have PSE certificates and set no logon required.
Best Regards,
saitoHi,
Useful information which will help you.

Hi,
the ADS installation stopps with the error message:
"java.rmi.RemoteException: Cannot deploy application com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices..
Reason: Errors while compiling:
Compilation process error : CreateProcess: null\bin\javac -J-Xmx256m ..."
Java_Home in the environment variables and in the Path is set correctly (J2SE 1.4.2_12 SDK ).
I have read the other messages with similiar questions but haven't found an answer to my question yet.
Does anyone has any idea what to do ?
Thanks in advance,
Lisbeth

It seems you are trying to deploy the test application build for 7.1 AS Java onto 7.0 AS Java (!). This will not work. If you are a beginner in SAP Netweaver and in general you have to use SAP IDE of the same version as your server. Check SAP IDE version and the version of the test application. They must be 7.0 compatible.

Adobe Document Services (ADS) Configuration
Hello,
I need to configure ADS for Form Processing (ABAP). However, I got the following landscape:
AS JAVA instance: Netweaver 7.01 (EP/BI-Java)
AS ABAP instance: Netweaver 7.4 SR1
Is there any restriction or consideration regarding this scenario? I mean, having an ABAP stack higher than the JAVA. Is it possible?
Regards,
JAMHi JAM,
Please find pre-requisite information in SAP help as below
Configuring Adobe Document Services for Form Processing (ABAP) - Adobe Document Services for Form Processing - SAP Libra…
Prerequisites
The AS Java where the ADS are running should have at least the same release as the AS ABAP.
Caution
The following functions for PDF forms require at least the ADS version on AS Java 7.20:
Parallelization of large print jobs
Stitching of PDF forms
Hope this helps.

Dear All,
I am using SAP NetWeaver 7.1 SP5 J2EE trial version. Could any body conform that ADS comes with same package. I am not able to see ADS installed along with SAP server.
From where I can get ADS installable file? I do not have market place user/pwd.
As per this blog I could not get ADS installable without market place user/pwd.
My struggles with the Adobe Document Services in WAS6.40
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
PrakashI am using Netweaver 7.1 SP5 trial version. While opening server and looking for configuration in SAP Network Administrator I navigate to Adobe Document Services to install credentials I found:
Adobe Document Services: Configuration
There is no Adobe Document Services running on your system
In my SAP server installation I did not see any directory 'AdobeDocumentServices' in directory 'global'.
\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\global\AdobeDocumentServices\TrustManagerService\trust\credentials
So I manually created directories in 'global' \AdobeDocumentServices\TrustManagerService\trust\credentials and copies credentials file. restarted my server. even I am getting the same thing in SAP Network Administrator
Adobe Document Services: Configuration
There is no Adobe Document Services running on your system
In document you provided its written for ADS Prerequisites are:
Adobe document services are installed on your system.
I am totally confused...somebody can help me!!!

How to apply SP to ADS in EP?
Hi,
I'am using ADS SP9 and now i want to upgrade it to SP 11,i nedd to do it in SDM? and any prerequisites other than SP11 ?
Please guide me.
Thanks and Regards,
Pradeep.BHi Pradeep,
yes the upgrade can be done with SDM.
But I recommend to upgrade the whole NetWeaver installation and not just ADS.
Use JSPM for the import of the Support Package.
Hth,
Michael -
Hello All,
I am configuring the ADS in our ECC 6.0 system . I am facing two issues :
Issue 1:
I had completed all the steps for configuring ADS in the system. But when I run the Adobe form builder test from sfp transaction for the test form "FP_TEST_00" I am getting an error when executing the test function module for that test form saying :
"Exception SYSTEM_ERROR
Message ID: FPRUNX Message number:
Message:
ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing d(200101)
What might be the issue???? We configured the Basic authentication and not SSL.
Issue 2:
Our J2EE is pointing to the client 001 and 800 is the ABAP development client .
We had created a RFC destination by name "ADS" connection type "G" as part of the ADS configuration .
IN SM59 when I do a test connection on both clients ADS Rfc destination is working only in client 001 (J2ee client) and not working in 800 client In client 800 it's telling the error " SR000 : ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED".
What might be the issue in 800 client?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Thanks,
GreetsonISSUE 1:
If not, then check this thread and run the tests mentioned in it at your end.
Print Preview not working for Adobe forms
ISSUE 2:
Reason and Prerequisites
You are using ICM Release 6.40 or higher for HTTP connections of the SAP Web AS. In other words, your kernel release is 6.40 or higher.
Up to and including Release 7.00, ICM is only used in systems which also have an ABAP stack, and not in J2EE-only systems.
You may also be using the SAP Web Dispatcher.
Solution
The note describes the following:
Client and server roles of the ICM
List of the various ICM timeout parameters
Short description of the icm/conn_timeout parameter
Description of "Processing timeout" and "Keepalive timeout"
Configuration of the ICM parameters for the processing timeout and the keepalive timeout
Timeout parameters in the SAP Web Dispatcher
ICM kernel patches that affect timeouts
There is detailed ICM documentation in the SAP Knowledge Warehouse.
Client and server roles of the ICM
The ICM can forward incoming HTTP connections for further processing to the SAP Web Application Server; the ICM then serves as the HTTP server. The ICM can also forward outgoing HTTP connections from the SAP Web Application Server to other HTTP servers; the ICM then serves as the HTTP client.
Available parameters that control ICM timeouts
icm/conn_timeout
icm/keep_alive_timeout
icm/server_port_< n >
Parameter icm/conn_timeout
icm/conn_timeout is used to set the timeout when setting up the connection. If the timeout is exceeded, an error page is generally displayed with the information "404 Resource not found" "Partner not reached".
Therefore, exceeding the icm/conn_timeout does not lead to a "500 Connection timed out" error message.
Processing timeout and keepalive timeout
The icm/keep_alive_timeout and icm/server_port_< n > parameters define the keepalive timeout and the processing timeout.
ICM distinguishes between these two types of timeout.
The processing timeout is the timeout between the HTTP request being issued and the HTTP response being received.
If the ICM is used as a server for the relevant HTTP request (in other words, when it forwards an incoming request to the SAP Web Application Server), the processing timeout is the time that the ICM will wait until a response is received from the SAP Web Application Server (ABAP or J2EE). This interval may be exceeded with long-running applications in ABAP or the J2EE engine.
If the ICM serves as a client for the relevant HTTP request (that is, when it forwards outgoing requests from the SAP Web Application Server), the processing timeout is the time that the ICM waits until a response is received from the network. This interval may also be exceeded in the case of long-running applications in the network.
The keepalive timeout specifies how long the network should remain open after a request has been processed successfully so that the TCP/IP connection does not have to be reestablished if additional requests are received.
When you set the keepalive timeout, this does not normally lead to timeout errors. You should set the keepalive timeout high enough that the connection does not have to be reestablished for requests that are sent within a short time of each other, but low enough that the number of unused open TCP/IP connections is not unnecessarily high.
Configuration of the ICM parameters for the processing timeout and the keepalive timeout
For the ICM, the parameters mentioned here are in the instance profile.
The processing timeout is set for individual services with the following parameter:
icm/server_port_ < n > = ...,PROCTIMEOUT=< s >.
The keepalive timeout can be set globally for all services of the ICM with the parameter icm/keepalive_timeout.
You can also set it for individual services by using the following parameter:
icm/server_port_ < n > = ...,TIMEOUT=< s >.
If you set this parameter, it overwrites parameter icm/keepalive_timeout for the specified service.
Even if the ICM serves as client for a request, the TIMEOUT and PROCTIMEOUT parameters of icm/server_port_ < n > control the timeouts for the relevant protocol, provided that you have set TIMEOUT or PROCTIMEOUT.
If you have not set the PROCTIMEOUT parameter, TIMEOUT (or icm/keepalive_timeout) defines both the processing timeout and the keepalive timeout. Also, as of release 6.40, the keepalive timeout is limited to a maximum of 30 seconds.
In a system where the default timeout settings of 30 seconds for the keepalive timeout and the processing timeout are not sufficient because of long-running applications, we recommend that you set the TIMEOUT and PROCTIMEOUT parameters for the relevant services so that you can configure them independently of each other. In addition, we recommend that you do not set the TIMEOUT value higher than necessary, for example, to the usual default value of 30 seconds.
We recommend, for example, the following settings:
icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=1080,TIMEOUT=30,PROCTIMEOUT=600
to allow a maximum processing time of 10 minutes.
Timeout parameters in the SAP Web Dispatcher
The same timeout parameters are available for the SAP Web Dispatcher as for the ICM. You can change the parameters of the SAP Web Dispatcher in the profile file of the SAP Web Dispatcher (for example, sapwebdisp.pfl). We recommend that you set the same parameters in the SAP Web Dispatcher and ICM.
Known errors in ICM and Web Dispatcher timeout handling
Since 6.40 patch level 64, there have not been any known errors in ICM and Web Dispatcher timeout handling.
In Release 7.00, there are no known errors in ICM and Web Dispatcher Timeout Handling.
Known Internet Explorer errors in the keepalive timeout handling
Known errors in the keepalive handling from Internet Explorer are described in Note 900804. However, these errors are not usually displayed as timeout errors.

Can we just discuss what are the Prerequisites before we configure the ADS services on a netweaver system as per the configuration guide -
1. Do we need a printer device configured on the fresh system before we start the configuration test ?
2. Does we require license installed before we start the initial configuration ?
3. Am i missing more steps ?Hi,
here are the answers
1. No.
2. No. License is required if you interactive forms .
3. Go to https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/adobe. You will answer for all your questions regarding ADS.
Thanks! -
CAN ADS BE INSTALLED ON ANY JAVA INSTANCE
If I have ECC 6.0 installed with ABAP only, can I install ADS on another system with Java installed to be used with ECC60 or does it need to be in the same system to work. Only looking for PDF output and display of HR reports.
Thanks,
TaniaTania,
Technically yes you can. In such a case you need to publish the ADS to the SLD. Please look at the section 3.4 of the ADS config guide for 2004
Publishing the Adobe Document Services to the System Landscape Directory
This procedure applies only if you have installed the Adobe document services and the Web Dynpro runtime environment on different J2EE Engines and if the communication between these engines uses the System Landscape Directory (SLD).
Prerequisite
A System Landscape Directory (SLD) must be already configured.
If not already done, perform the necessary activities according to the documentation SAP System Landscape Directory, section Administrative Activities, chapter:
Start and stop the SLD service
Configure the SLD server
Configure data persistence
Make settings for the SLD bridge
You can find this documentation by calling the following URL in your web browser (you must have a SLD administrator account):
http://<host>:<HTTP_port>/sld
where <host> is the host name of the SLD host and <HTTP_port> is the HTTP port of the SAP J2EE engine (The following naming convention applies: 5<J2EE_instance_number>00. 50000, for example, if your J2EE instance is 00).
Thanks!

What is the pupose of rebate agrrement? configuaration process
what is the pupose of rebate agrrement? configuaration process
Hi Deva,
As he rightly said, you need to understand the basic sd module functionlity, else make a small search in forum.
I dont want to dispoint you this time, going forward do it. For your reference find the complete config process of rebate.
What do you mean by Rebate: - Rebate is a special kind of discount, which is paid retroactively to a customer once he achieves or reaches the sales volumes, in a given period of time.
Rebate agreement: - A Rebate agreement is an agreement between the business and a customer. The rebate is only relevant if the customer purchases the required sales volume. In rebate agreement, you specify who receives the rebate payment and on what criteria rebate is based. Ex. Customer, customer and material etc,.
Rebate agreement type: - The rebate agreement type determines which data the system is to automatically propose for rebate agreement.
Structure:
You can define the following data in a rebate agreement:
Validity period
Status (whether the agreement is released for settlement)
Rebate recipient (the party who receives the credit memo)
Currency
Method of payment (cheque, bank transfer etc)
Data Defined In Condition Records:
Basis for rebate (customer, customer/ material, rebate group, etc)
Validity period (the validity must lie with in the validity of rebate agreement)
Cond rate
Material for settlement
Accrual rate
Other control data, such as pricing scale type
Prerequisites for Rebate Processing:
Sales orgn: must be relevant for rebate processing
Payer: must be relevant for rebate processing
Billing type: (invoice, credit memo etc) must be relevant for rebate processing
For performance reasons, you should deactivate rebate processing if it is not necessary.
Material for Settlement: In case of customer rebate where there is no material linked, a dummy material is give as material for settlement.
You may have to create rebates that do not depend on a material, but instead, e.g. on:
A Customer
A Customer Hierarchy
A Group of Materials
You will then need to refer to a material for settlement. The system uses this material when you pay out the rebate. It does not matter which material type & mat application type you use.
When you create the cond record with in the rebate agreement, the system automatically asks you to enter the no of material for settlement.
Manual accruals: Instead of posting accruals from the billing documents, manually we can post accruals through the debit memo. If you activate this field if you want to be able to post manually for this agreement type.
Reverse accruals:- Whatever manual accruals we have given can be reversed through the reverse accruals. Mark this field if you want accruals to be reversed when a manual payment is made for a rebate agreement of this type. The system uses reverses accruals for the amount of the manual payment. If the cumulative accruals are not sufficient, the system reverses the accruals amount, which exists.
Relationship to Pricing
Rebates differ from other kinds of discounts in that they are based on sales volume over time and are paid retroactively.
However, the system processes rebates in much the same way as other kinds of pricing elements.
Rebate data is saved in condition records.
Controlling for rebate processing is carried out via condition types, pricing procedures and access sequences.
This control data is defined in Customizing for Sales and Distribution.
Rebate based on Group of Materials:
A rebate group consists of materials to which you want to apply the same rebate. You system administrator can define rebate group in Customizing for Sales according to the need o f the orgn.
You can assign a material to a rebate group in the MMR: view- Sales, field- Rebate Grp. When you create a cond record, you must enter a settlement material.
Rebate Agreement Types:
Agreement Type Basis for Rebate Cond Type
0001 Customer / Material % Rebate BO01
Customer / Rebate Group % Rebate BO01
0002 Customer / Material Quantity Dependent BO02
0003 Customer Percent rebate BO03
0004 Customer hierarchy Percent rebate BO04
Customer hierarchy / Material Percent rebate BO05
0005 Sales Volume Independent BO06
SPRO- IMG- SD- BILLING- REBATE PROCESSING:
Define rebate agreements
Condition type groups
o Define cond type groups
o Assign cond types to cond type groups
 Maintain access sequence
 Define condition types
 Assign conditon types to conditon type groups
 Maintain pricing procedure
o Assign condition type groups to rebate agreement types

o Select billing documents for rebate processing3
o Activate rebate processing for sales organisations
o Activate at customer level.
1. Define Agreement Types:
Copy & rename: 0002 & go to Details
From
To
Reverse accruals: flag it on
Manual Accrual Doc Type: Doc Type (R4) & Billing Doc Type: B4
Verification level: payer, material
Partial payment: Doc Type (R3) & Billing Doc Type: B3
Rebate credit memo: Doc Type (R1) & Billing Doc Type: B1
2. Define Condition Type Groups:
Copy & rename: 0002. Give the same code as given to agreement type.
3. Assign Condition Type to Condition Type Group:
In this activity one needs to assign the cond type from the pricing procedure to the cond type group found on the rebate agreement type. The sequence no column represents the fields in the cond table that determines what the system is to use as the basis for rebate. In this e.g., 1 determines that the cond type should use the fields customer & material. The cond type group 0002 will use pricing cond type BO02. Before assigning cond type to cond type group, you have to create a cond type.
Cond Technique for rebate processing:
Create cond table
Maintain access sequence
Define cond type: BO02 is the cond type used in pricing, copy & rename.
Assign cond type to cond type group: BO02 to 0002
Maintain pricing procedure: assign cond type BO02 to pricing proc, after total discount & before freight. Assign Subtotal: 7, Account Key: ERB, Accruals: ERU (keeping reserve money from customer money), & Requirement: 24 (rebate will get affected in billing doc & not in sales doc)
The cond type BO02 must use cond class C- expense reimbursement.
The rebate procedure in BO02: indicates if the cond is dependent or independent of sales volume
The accruals correction proc indicates if accruals must be corrected when this cond type is accessed.
4. Assigning Cond Type Groups to Agreement Type:
Here you are presented with a list of agreement types as created in the system & you can assign the relevant cond type group
5. Activate Rebate Processing: at the following levels.
Sales orgn level: activate rebate processing for sales organisations
Billing Document: select billing doc for rebate processing
Customer: active rebate in CMD Sales Area Data, Billing Tab Page.
Billing Document Types
F2 Standard Invoice F1 Order Relate invoice
BV Cash Sale B1, B2, B3, B4 Rebate invoices
G2 Credit Memo L2 Debit Memo
S1 Invoice Cancellation S2 Cancel Credit Memo
IV Inter Company Sales
NOTE: - You cannot activate Rebates for Billing document type F5 & F8, since they are proforma invoices.
Create Rebate Agreements: VBO1
Easy Access- Logistics- SD- Master Data- Agreements- Rebate Agreements- Create
Agreement type: 0002 & press enter. In the over view screen fill the following details:
Rebate recipient: payer no
Currency
Validity Period
Agreement Status: open
Then Go To Conditions Icon & Fill
Material, Rebate Amount, Accruals & save
Then create sales order, delivery, picking, goods issue & invoice
After this in order to see rebate in sales order cycle Go to: VF01 Go to Conditions (item). You can check rebate in VF01 before saving or else you can also see in VF02.
Rebate Settlement: VBO2
The system uses the accumulated amounts in the rebate agreement to create a rebate settlement.
The system generates a rebate credit memo request for the rebate payment amount specified.
There are 3 statuses available for rebate agreements
1. Status A refers to an open rebate agreement.
2. Status B means the rebate is released for settlement.
3. Status C means you have actually executed the settlement. The System creates a credit memo request for the accrual amount.
You can display the sales volume and drill-down in the rebate agreement.
You can carry out a final settlement for the rebate agreement either:
a. Manually
b. Automatically
c. In the background (batch programs: RV15C001 and RV15C002)
Accruals are reversed as soon as the rebate agreement is settled by credit memo.
Process of Rebate settlement:
Use VBO2 and type in the agreement Number. Change the Agreement Status to B and click on Final Settlements->Automatic. On doing so, a Credit Memo Request gets created.
Status is set to C. Save it.
A credit Memo Request Number is generated.
Go to VA02 and type in the Credit Memo Request number generated. Remove the Billing Block and Save it.
Use VA02 to go to Sales Document and Click on Billing. On Saving it, the Credit Memo Request is now Billed
Go to VBO3 and see the Agreement Status. It would have been set to D, which means that final settlement of agreement has been carried out.
Important:-
1. When you save the rebate agreement, the system will automatically create a credit memo request. The system uses this document to create a credit memo. When the credit memo is released, the accruals are posted to FI.
2. If you have posted accruals manually, but these have not been passed on to financial accounting, the manual accruals and manual payments in the rebate agreement are blocked.
3. The system can use the sold to party or ship to party as we as payer as the rebate recipient. You cannot use alternative partner as the rebate recipient, such as alternative payer for the CMD of the sole to party.

Hello fellow-users of Mozilla Firefox,
I send email ads using 20 different safelists every day. To get credits for sending those ads I click email ads sent by other subscribers.
Since early this year I've been using Click Earner -- http://www.clickearner.net/ -- to help speed up this task. Click Earner "fetched"
the emails from each safelist and opened each URL advertised in each email. This was a very quick job and all I did was close each tab
displaying the URL. Credits for clicking the URL were added to my safelists accounts.
Since a week ago, without me doing anything at all, my Click Earner stopped opening the emails automatically as was the case for
several months since I started using it. Click Earner support claimed Firefox prevented the program from opening the URL in a new tab each time it fetched an email ad. True enough, yesterday when I watched Click Earner in action I saw a pop-up from Firefox saying something like "Firefox prevented..." I couldn't read the rest as the pop-up disappeared immediately. And that was the only
time I saw it.
Right now I have to open each URL manually to see the ad and earn credits. This is a very slow process, just the same as when I open the emails in my gmail account. It's useless for me to subscribe to Click Earner. And it takes forever for me to earn credits from all the safelists.
I'd appreciate it very much if any one of you folks would help me overcome this glitch. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you very much in anticipation.
Regards,
Tom GracianoYou could try turning off Firefox's pop-up blocker.
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
There you will find a checkbox for "Block pop-up windows". Assuming it's checked, uncheck it.
Does that return to the behavior you want?
