ADS Installation

Hi All,
Could any one can explian me how to install ADS on WAB AS 6.40. Currently we are using SP15 version of SAP NW.

ADS installation error

Hi,
the ADS installation stopps with the error message:
"java.rmi.RemoteException: Cannot deploy application com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices..
                     Reason: Errors while compiling:
                     Compilation process error : CreateProcess: null\bin\javac -J-Xmx256m ..."
Java_Home in the environment variables and in the Path is set correctly (J2SE 1.4.2_12 SDK ).
I have read the other messages with similiar questions but haven't found an answer to my question yet.
Does anyone has any idea what to do ?

How to get ADS installable

Dear All,
I am using SAP NetWeaver 7.1 SP5 J2EE trial version. Could any body conform that ADS comes with same package. I am not able to see ADS installed along with SAP server.
From where I can get ADS installable file? I do not have market place user/pwd.
As per this blog I could not get ADS installable without market place user/pwd.
My struggles with the Adobe Document Services in WAS6.40
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

I am using Netweaver 7.1 SP5 trial version. While opening server and looking for configuration in SAP Network Administrator I navigate to Adobe Document Services to install credentials I found:
Adobe Document Services: Configuration
There is no Adobe Document Services running on your system
In my SAP server installation I did not see any directory 'AdobeDocumentServices' in directory 'global'.
\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\global\AdobeDocumentServices\TrustManagerService\trust\credentials
So I manually created directories in 'global' \AdobeDocumentServices\TrustManagerService\trust\credentials and copies credentials file. restarted my server. even I am getting the same thing in SAP Network Administrator

In document you provided its written for ADS Prerequisites are:
Adobe document services are installed on your system.

ADS installation Guide for SAP Netweaver 7.0

Hello ,
I have to install an ADS system with only JAVA.
But i am unable to find the ADS installation guide in service market place. All i could find is ADS configuration which is not i want to do.
I want to do the "ADS INSTALLATION" with only JAVA with SAP NETWEAVER 7.0.
Can someone help me in finding this ADS installation document for 7.0?

This ADS installation is a high availability installation of standalone JAVA. As i have never done this type of installation before, i need a document which can guide me well.

ADS Installation - Is it part of CE Sneak Preview?

I have just installed the CE (full version). When i look at the SCA's deployed on the server i find that ADS is not installed as part of the installation. Is this correct.
Will this be provided at a later stage. Please do let us know.

Hi Sidharth,
ADS and Voice add-ons are not part of the CE Trial Version. However, they are certainly part of the commercial release of SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1.
In that sense, the CE "full version" available here on SDN is not actually the full CE released product. In addition to the "Java EE only version" it includes also the composition tools (CAF, GP, VC) and Portal functionality.

Help needed in ads installation

Hi
I just finished installing the ADS on a 32 bit server (win 2003 server)
It included both Java + ABAP stacks (NW2004s).
Now in the SAP MMC I do not see the J2EE process listed.
When I try to do the updates using JSPM, I get the Message J2EE engine not started. I restarted SID in SAPMMC, however I dont see the J2EE process listed as you would normally see in the MMC.
can anyone explain me what I'm missing out.

ADS Installation/Configuration Errors

I'm trying to setup Adobe Document Services at a client and have hit a road-block.
The client is trying to configure a development portal to talk to BW 5.0 and then generate documents. The connection to BW works fine, as we are able to sign into the portal, then navigate to "Business Explorer" ==> "BEx Web Analyzer" ==> "New Analysis" ==> InfoArea ==> and then drill down and create a reports (text only so far, as I still have to get IGS working for them). Data is retrieved and displayed.
The problem comes when you try to push the PRINT VERSION button in the portal (not IE's print button). When you do that you get the following error message...

You get a similar message if you push the "Export to Excel" button, so I'm not certain it's actually related to ADS.
I've worked through the config manual, and as far as I know, have done everything I need to. We are NOT using SSL for now and have stuck with Basic Authentication. I've loaded the "Reader Rights Credential" but didn't do anything with Trusted Anchors or Certificate Revocation Lists, as I don't think it should be affecting them at this point.
Any thoughts as to what the messages above might be pointing me to?

Especially ensure, that the ABAP and Java Stack are running on the
same Support Package Level and that the Java components BI WEBAPP and
BI BASES have the same patch level.

ADS come by default if you are using ABAP+JAVA ECC6 system no need to install again
if you are in SR1 you need to create user ADSuser and ADS_AGENT, details are availble in inst guide

ADS Config error

Folks,
We are trying to Configure ADS on SP14 and when we try to Configure the credentials( PK12) , and /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices /TrustManagerService/trust/credentials directory is missing. We are only able to see /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices/lib this directory.

SOAP Framework error while activating interactive form in SFP

I am new to adobe forms, I got an error while activating interactive form
SOAP Framework error: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSOAPExceptionTransport: HTTP response contains unexpected content-type(100,101).
I am unable to trace this error, can anyone plz let me understand for what reason this error occurs.

Its an issue with ADS installation or configuration. Let your BASIS team know about this error with screen print. We had same issue and BASIS fixed it.

SOAP error!! while activating or running an existing Adobe form

Hi,
I am working on Adobe forms in ECC6.0 server.
I am getting a SOAP error while I run existing forms or trying activating a Z* form.
Error: ADS: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport :(100101)
I am trying to run an existing form in 800 client. It is running fine in 001 client.
ADS installed on 001 client but basis team is not able install it on 800 client.
How to install ADS on 800 client also. Is it a problem with ADS installation??

I have one quick one for you - you mentioned earlier that when we embed an existing form into Web. View, we cannot have an Interactive form even when we check the 'enabled' property. Can you throw more light onto this pls?
The runtime error that i am encountering now says :
Adobe Processing Exception: PDF is not interactive. Data can be only imported into Interactive forms.
the source text of error is:
get result
m_pdf_object->get_document ( importing pdfdata = pdf ).
catch cx_fp_exception into lr_fpexc.
raise exception type cx_wd_general
exporting
previous = lr_fpexc
and this exception is not caught ! I am still lost

RFC error while activating the Form

hi all,
i am trying to activate a new form or even while generating the pdf tab.this generates the pdf but with a popup 'no message though'.
i get a success message of bytes transmitted ,code page 0000.
but doesnot get activated.
but when i execute it..
i get an error message as below.
system_error,
message id : fprunx
message no :001
message : ADS : error when opening and RFC communication(110101)
is it a compatibility error. aor what?
i use windows o7,LDC 8.0,adobe reader 9.1 with flash player 10
can anybody suggest me whats the error and hw to go about it???

Use reports FP_TEST_00 a FPDESTINATION_CHECK (with destination checked true) to find out when your ADS connection will work. Your basis colleagues will use the same reports for their test.
Learn that FP_* reports can be very useful for you in future, for testing or as a demo programs.

ADobe document services

Hi All,
I was trying to activate the adobe document services in the Netweaver 2004s ABAP +JAVA stack system
when ever i am trying to execute the program FP_TEST_00 The pop up screen appears asking
Enter you user name and ID
Resource AdobeDocumentService/config
Username :----
Password:----
I activated the ADS in DEV system it does not ask for these credentials every time.
Please help in solving this problem.

Mapping External BI Locations

Hi All,
I have an issue an implementing the "Exporting the Table data to Excel."
My VC version is 7.0
Portal version NW 2004s.
By refering the following link, i have implemented Export To Excell functionality in VC.

I am able to run the application. After i run the application . once i click on the button 'ExportToExcel' i am getting the following error.

Could not find portal application com.sap.ip.bi.service.generic.
Exception id: 05:32_01/05/07_0001_18800950
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
Then i have relized that, my portal sever doesnt have the BI java. So in that document will work for only when the BI java and visual composer running in the same system.
As my my BI java is available in another server. In the document it is clearly mentioned in the last page in the following things need to be done in my case.
" If your BI-JAVA and Visual Composer are on separate AS JAVA components, you will need to map a Remote URL iView of your BI-JAVA system Web Analyzer if it is different than the Visual Composer system."
Can any tell me how to do this configuration to work.
