ADS vs LiveCycle Designer - version match?

Hi,
Is it possible to upgrade LiveCycle Designer frequently and still use one and the same ADS, or are there any rules when it comes to their versions matching?
Thanks!
KR,
Igor

if you check note 1522483 1359778 1176858, they tell you which version of LCD can be used with which version of ADS.

  • Content of textfields is gone, when using LiveCycle Designer Version 8.2

    Hi there,
    I´m having a Problem with LiveCycle Designer in Version 8.2 (exactly 8.2.1.4029.1.523496). When It try to open a PDF-document containing an AcroForms-Form with some textfields, I can see all the textfields of the document, but their content (the text) is missing, I only see the empty fields.
    When I use LiveCycle Designer Version 8.1 (exactly 8.1.1.3021.1.438934) everthing works fine. The xml-sources produced by the two differnt LiveCycle-versions look different, too.
    Is there any known bug or something, which could explain this behaviuor?
    Thanx a lot

  • Livecycle Designer version

    Hi all,
    I have a problem for which I need to upgrade from version 8.0 to 8.2.
    1. Does anyone know if there is a release that works with SAP? (I need to use it in Tcode SFP) Is this supported allready?
    2. And where can I find which ADS works with which designer version.
    Kind regards

    I have upgraded the Adobe Acrobat Profession v8.0 to v8.1, but the Designer is still version 8.0 and the problem still exists.

  • Adobe Livecycle Designer 7.1 x ADS 7.0 SPS16

    Hi guys,
    I am considering update my Adobe Livecycle Designer version from 7.0.050519.0 to 7.1, but as our ADS server is running version 7.0 SPS16, I don't know if it would be a problem.
    The forms that I create in this new version will run on our ADS?
    Regards,
    Douglas Frankenberger

    Hi Douglas,
    What version of NetWeaver are you running?  Take this into consideration...
    If you are on NW 2004, you need to be on either ALD 6.0 or ALD 7.1 depending on the SP level. If you are on NW 7.0 or NW 7.1, again it depends on the SP level you are on.
    So, for NW 7.0 SP13 and below you must be on ALD 7.1. If you are on NW 7.0 SP 14 or above then you should be on ALD 8.0.
    Keep an eye out for version ALD 8.2 which should be coming out soon, and look at the notes as to what SP levels they need to be on. For NW 7.1 I believe it will be ALD 8.0, but look at the notes.
    Hope this helps...
    Cheers,
    Kevin

    I would like to install the latest version of Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
    According to SAP Note 1658830 ( 'Adobe LiveCycle Designer 9.8 - Installation' ) this is the version 9.8.
    I have searched the file "67837800102000002446 Adobe LiveCycle Designer 9.8" on the SAP Service Marketplace with several S-Users, but cannot find it under

    Installations and Upgrades -> Browse our Download Catalog
    -> SAP NetWeaver and complementary products
    -> SAP NetWeaver
    -> SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.3
    as it is described in the note, because I don't have the entry SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.3.
    Under SAP NetWeaver I only can see the followings:

    SAP NetWeaver 7.3
    SAP EHP2 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0
    SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer and Office 2010

    Hi guys,
    I'm using Adobe LiveCycle Designer (version 9 / ES2). I try to open a MS Word file, but I receive an error message.
    Word (version XP or higher) cannot be found on the machine.
    OS: Windows 7 Enterprise
    Office: 2010
    I read that the version 8.2 of LiveCycle Designer doesn't work with Office 2007 and higher. In this constellation the same error message appears. Is it the same problem on my side? How can I solve it?
    Many Thanks,
    untalentiert

    I'm running Win XP using Parallels 8... LiveCycle Designer is WIndows only and Acrobat XI will only import hyperlinks correctly from Windows versions of Office - which is why I use Office on both the Mac and Windows side, as well as Acrobat XI on both platforms. You can't use the Office plug-ins for Office using LibreOffice (or even Office 2011 for Mac) hence the need to open docs in Word on the Windows side instead of the Mac side.
    What I'm confused by is the pricing difference between the packages - I guessing that the $163 package is the 'full retail' and not an OEM or anything - but I don't know if an OEM would even work under a VM with Parallels...
    So I may end up with the full retail version, although I'd like to save the $70 difference if I can!
    Thanks,
    Clinton

  • LiveCycle Designer 7, Display Pattern not working

    With Adobe LiveCycle Designer version 7.1.2295.1.242059:
    I have a Form that has fields that the user fills out and an "Email Submit Button" where when the user clicks it, it submits the form via email that attaches a .xml file. When I receive the email, I noticed that all the "Date" fields data does not have the slashes in them unless the user specifically uses the pop-up calendar form to set the date value for each of these fields. If the user just types in the date as "02192007", the data does not get converted to "02/19/2007".
    I tried modifying the various Pattern properties of the date fields on the form, but that does not seem to fix the problem.
    Also, if I set the following "date{MM/DD/YYYY}|date{M/D/YYYY}" as my "Validation Pattern:" for my Date fields, and everytime I enter "2/19/2007", I keep getting my "Validation Pattern Message", indicating that the format is wrong. However, if I enter "02" as the month, it works fine; only single digit months fail.
    The other settings for this field that I have are:
    (Field Tab): Display Pattern: MM/DD/YYYY
    (Field Tab): Edit Pattern: MM/DD/YYYY
    What am I doing wrong and how can I insure that slashes will come across on the XML file when it is submitted even though I have set the pattern properties?

    Designer 8 doesn't help either.
    I have the same settings Shweta proposes - but the exported date format is still different.
    You can fill the date field via script (like the following) then the date format is allright. To me it looks like the designer's "date format" is simply a string and the designer doesn't care a bit about the display patterns.
    var today = new Date();
    var dayOfWeek = today.getDay();
    var month = today.getMonth()+1;
    var year = today.getFullYear();
    var day = today.getDate();
    this.rawValue = day + "." + month + "." + year;

  • Adobe livecycle designer 7.1

    Hi experts,
    I created a interface and a form. In form builder, I clicked "layout" tab, it back to the first page in GUI. I knew it's because I didn't install adobe livecycle designer 7.1, so I download this software from  swdc. Now I have a question:
    where to install this software? local or ecc?  I think it should be installed in local, please confirm.
    actually, my computer was for graphic designer before, I found "Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0" software.(adobe photoshop, acrobat, Illustrator...)

    Please remove all adobe livecycle designer versions from your local pc.
    restart your pc to be sure, that all temp data is deleted.
    download the newest ald version from service.sap.com and install it.

  • I have downloaded a trail version of adobe acrobat pro and when I try to use it, it says that it cannot be edited in acrobat, please use adobe livecycle designer to edit this form. I can't work out what I need to do?

    I have downloaded a trail version of adobe acrobat pro and when I try to use it, it says that it cannot be edited in acrobat, please use adobe livecycle designer to edit this form. I can't work out what I need to do?

    Acrobat XI is not distributed with Designer. Designer is now a separate product. You can create forms in Acrobat as an AcroForm or using Forms Central (an online forms program). You can print the form to a new PDF and then recreate the fields in Acrobat using the recognize form fields. You will likely have to fix the form fields, but that would be the process. Generally, once a form is taken to Designer, you can't bring it back without such steps.
    Designer is available with AA8 - AAX, but since is a separate product as I indicated.

  • Saving form last modified in LiveCycle Designer as PDF version 1.4

    I have a PDF fillable form that was last modified/saved in LiveCycle Designer. The PDF is currently version 1.7, but I need to reduce it to version 1.4 (for compatibility reasons). The way I normally do this is to open the PDF in Acrobat and use the optimizer to save it down to version 1.4, but with this form I'm getting a message that says "The PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized." I downloaded the trial version of Designer ES4, but I'm not having any luck taking it down to version 1.4. Does anyone know if  it's possible to save down this kind of PDF to version 1.4?

    LiveCycle PDFs aren't normal Acrobat PDFs, they're an XML file with a wrapper - that's why you can't optimize them.
    You can't save to specific PDF versions, but you can change the target version of the form from Designer. I'm not sure what options Designer ES4 gives you but under the Defaults tab of File>Form Properties you can change the Target Version - I'm using ES2 can can change the compatibility back to Acrobat 7.0.5 (PDF 1.6).

  • What is the latest version of adobe livecycle designer for mac?

    Hello Guys,
    I am new for Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
    Can some one guide me what is the latest version for Mac.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    HARI

    Hi HARI,
    Yes, that short video is demonstrating LC Designer (albeit an earlier version).
    The video is showing how to create a dynamic form, where you can add and remove items at runtime and have other dynamic features. Do develop this type of form you will need LC Designer ES2 (current version 9). As I said this runs on Windows, so you would need a virtual machine on the Mac to run Windows.
    LC Designer comes with Acrobat X Pro for Windows (Note it does NOT come with Acrobat X Pro for Mac). See http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html.
    You also need to consider what your users will have to fill in the forms: Acrobat OR Reader. There are some features that will not be available in Reader unless you Reader enable the form. For example users with Reader will not be able to save their data in a form that has not been Reader enabled.
    More info on that here: http://assure.ly/gYyYc2
    You can also see some short sample forms here, which will give you an idea on some of the dynamic features: http://assure.ly/eEPuCM. All of these were created with LC Designer.
    Forms that are created in LC Designer are in accordance with the XFA specification. They are wrapped in a PDF wrapper that allows then to be opened in Acrobat/Reader. However they are not like a standard/native PDF and some standard Acrobat features, like commenting may not be available.
    You can also create forms directly in Acrobat, these are called AcroForms. They can be used to collect data, but generally don't have the same level of dynamic behaviour that you saw in the video.
    There are plenty of examples on the forums, so I would recommend that you explore these before you make any purchase. There can be a learning curve, depending on whether you have scripted before.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • How to download Adobe LiveCycle Designer new version.

    Hi,
    I'm new to this forum and new to Adobe interactive forms.
    I went through the SAP Service market by refering to the sapnote 962763 where they mention the path as shown below
    Installation Source
    You can download the Adobe LiveCycle Designer installer from SAP Service
    Marketplace:
    http://service.sap.com/installations
    Entry by Application Group
    -> SAP NetWeaver
    -> SAP NETWEAVER
    -> SAP NETWEAVER 04
    -> installation and Upgrade
    -> <Choose any OS and DB combination.>
    -> 50088654_1 NW 7.0 Presentation - Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1
    But I didn't got the following paths.
    So, Please guide on how to download the Adobe LiveCycle Designer new version

    There are multiple ways to get to the latest version of Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2.  The note you referenced should be made obsolete.
    This is the path I choose from the download center but there are different installations you could pick.
    Installations and Upgrade
         - A - Z Index -> N
         -> SAP Netweaver
                         -> SAP EHP2 for SAP Netweaver 7.0
         -> Installation
         -> AIX
         -> Oracle
         ... page down to object 51039107 - Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2.  It is toward the bottom.
